In this article, we analyze the connection between the Log De Rham Cohomology of an fs (not necessary log smooth) log scheme $Y$ over $\mathbb C$ (for $Y$ admitting an exact closed immersion into an fs log smooth log scheme over $\mathbb C$), its Log Infinitesimal Cohomology $H^{^.}(Y^{log}_{inf}, \mathcal O_{Y^{log}_{inf}})$, and its Log Betti Cohomology, which is the Cohomology of its associated Kato-Nakayama topological space $Y^{an}_{log}$, and we prove that they are isomorphic. These results are the log scheme analogues of two classical comparison theorems.
We prove the Künneth formula for the irregular Hodge filtrations on the exponentially twisted de Rham and the Higgs cohomologies of smooth quasi-projective complex varieties. The method involves a careful comparison of the underlying chain complexes under a certain elimination of indeterminacy.
In this article we prove that the log Hodge de Rham spectral sequences of certain proper log smooth schemes of Cartier type in characteristic $p>0$ degenerate at $E_1$. We also prove that the log Kodaira vanishings for them hold when they are projective. We formulate the log weak Lefschetz conjecture for log crystalline cohomologies and prove that it is true in certain cases.
The Cartier isomorphism allows a nice description of the Bockstein spectral sequence of the de Rham complex over the integers. It is used to compute the integral de Rham cohomology of affine spaces.
The goal of this small note is to extend a result by Christopher Davis and David Zureick-Brown on the comparison between integral Monsky-Washnitzer cohomology and overconvergent de~Rham-Witt cohomology for a smooth variety over a perfect field of positive characteristic $p$ to all cohomological degrees independent of the dimension of the base or the prime number $p$. Le but de ce travail est de prolonger un résultat de Christopher Davis et David Zureick-Brown concernant la comparaison entre la cohomologie de Monsky-Washnitzer entière et la cohomologie de de~Rham-Witt surconvergente d'une varié…
In this article, we study the De Rham cohomology of the first cover in the Lubin-Tate tower. In particular, we get a purely local proof that the supercuspidal part realizes the local Jacquet-Langlands correspondence for ${\rm GL}_n$ by comparing it to the rigid cohomology of some Deligne-Lusztig varieties. The representations obtained are analogous to the ones appearing in the $\ell$-adic cohomology if we forget the action of the Weil group. The proof relies on the generalization of an excision result of Grosse-Klönne and on the existence of a semi-stable model constructed by Yoshida for which…
We study twisted cohomologies with paracompactifying families of supports. The Kunneth theorems, Leray-Hirsch theorems and self-intersection formulae are established. Based on these results, we eventually give explicit expressions of complex blow-up formulae for twisted Dolbeault cohomology on arbitrary complex manifolds and the ones of generalized blow-ups formulae for twisted de Rham cohomology on arbitrary oriented smooth manifolds. These expressions are induced by the morphisms of (simple or double) complexes of spaces of forms and currents rather than just the maps between cohomologies, w…
Suppose that a finite group $G$ acts on a smooth complex variety $X$. Then this action lifts to the Chiral de Rham Complex of $X$ and to its cohomology by automorphisms of the vertex algebra structure. We define twisted sectors for the Chiral de Rham Complex (and their cohomologies) as sheaves of twisted vertex algebra modules supported on the components of the fixed-point sets $X^{g}, g \in G$. Each twisted sector sheaf carries a BRST differential and is quasi-isomorphic to the de Rham complex of $X^{g}$. Putting the twisted sectors together with the vacuum sector and taking $G$--invariants, …
Let $k$ be a perfect field of characteristic $p > 0$, $W_n = W_n(k)$. For separated $k$-schemes of finite type, we explain how rigid cohomology with compact supports can be computed as the cohomology of certain de Rham-Witt complexes with coefficients. This result generalizes the classical comparison theorem of Bloch-Illusie for proper and smooth schemes. In the proof, the key step is an extension of the Bloch-Illusie theorem to the case of cohomologies relative to $W_n$ with coefficients in a crystal that is only supposed to be flat over $W_n$.
The SL(2,C)-representation varieties of punctured surfaces form natural families parameterized by holonomies at the punctures. In this paper, we first compute the loci where these varieties are singular for the cases of one-holed and two-holed tori and the four-holed sphere. We then compute the de Rham cohomologies of these varieties of the one-holed torus and the four-holed sphere when the varieties are smooth via the Grothendieck theorem. Furthermore, we produce the explicit Gauss-Manin connection on the natural family of the smooth SL(2,C)-representation variety of the one-holed torus.
The goal of the memoir is to develop a new cohomology theory which encompasses De Rham and Dolbeault cohomology as well as Deligne Beilinson cohomology, in the context of general complex analytic manifolds. The special case of the Iwasawa manifold is investigated as a typical example of what occurs in the non Kähler case. Elementary applications to the Kodaira-Spencer deformation theory and to the calculation of Chern classes are given.
We compute the p-adic geometric étale cohomology of the coverings of Drinfeld's half-plane, and we show that, if the base field is Q_p, this cohomology encodes the p-adic local Langlands correspondence for 2-dimensional de Rham representations (of weight 0 and 1).
The de Rham comparison theorem for varieties, first proved by Faltings, gives the de Rham cohomology of a variety in terms of its p-adic etale cohomology. We extend this theorem to proper, smooth Deligne-Mumford stacks. Two approaches are given, which both in the end reduce the problem to the already known comparison theorem for varieties. The first approach employs the formalism of Weil cohomologies. Unfortunately, this does not result in a complete proof of the comparison theorem, as the author was unable to prove the required compatibility between intersections and cup products. Nevertheles…
We define, for a regular scheme $S$ and a given field of characteristic zero $\KK$, the notion of $\KK$-linear mixed Weil cohomology on smooth $S$-schemes by a simple set of properties, mainly: Nisnevich descent, homotopy invariance, stability (which means that the cohomology of $\GG_{m}$ behaves correctly), and Künneth formula. We prove that any mixed Weil cohomology defined on smooth $S$-schemes induces a symmetric monoidal realization of some suitable triangulated category of motives over $S$ to the derived category of the field $\KK$. This implies a finiteness theorem and a Poincaré dualit…
Starting from a homogeneous affine Springer fiber $Fl_ψ$, we construct three moduli spaces that correspond to the Dolbeault, de Rham and Betti aspects of a hypothetical Simpson correspondence with wild ramifications. We show that $Fl_ψ$ is homeomorphic to the central Lagrangian fiber in the Dolbeault space, prove that the Dolbeaut and de Rham spaces both have the same cohomology as $Fl_ψ$, and construct a map from the de Rham space to the Betti space which we conjecture to be an analytic isomorphism.
We study the monodromy operators on the betti cohomologies associated to a good degeneration of irreducible symplectic manifold and we show that the unipotency of the monodromy operator on the middle cohomology is at least the half of the dimension.
Cohomology of affinoids does not behave well; often, this can be remedied by making affinoids overconvergent. In this paper, we focus on dimension 1 and compute, using analogs of pants decompositions of Riemann surfaces, various cohomologies of affinoids. To give a meaning to these decompositions we modify slightly the notion of $p$-adic formal scheme, which gives rise to the adoc (an interpolation between adic and ad hoc) geometry. It turns out that cohomology of affinoids (in dimension 1) is not that pathological. From this we deduce a computation of cohomologies of curves without boundary (…
We give two constructions of functorial topological realizations for schemes of finite type over the field $\mathbb{C}(\!(t)\!)$ of formal Laurent series with complex coefficients, with values in the homotopy category of spaces over the circle. The problem of constructing such a realization was stated by D. Treumann, motivated by certain questions in mirror symmetry. The first construction uses spreading out and the usual Betti realization over $\mathbb{C}$. The second uses generalized semistable models and log Betti realization defined by Kato and Nakayama, and applies to smooth rigid analyti…
We describe a parallel polynomial time algorithm for computing the topological Betti numbers of a smooth complex projective variety $X$. It is the first single exponential time algorithm for computing the Betti numbers of a significant class of complex varieties of arbitrary dimension. Our main theoretical result is that the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the sheaf of differential $p$-forms on $X$ is bounded by $p(em+1)D$, where $e$, $m$, and $D$ are the maximal codimension, dimension, and degree, respectively, of all irreducible components of $X$. It follows that, for a union $V$ of generi…
We prove that, for adic étale motives over $\mathbb{C}_p$, the vector bundles on the Fargues-Fontaine curve arising from their Hyodo-Kato cohomology coincide with their de Rham-Fargues-Fontaine cohomologies, where the latter provides an overconvergent refinement of crystalline vector bundles, albeit constructed on the generic fiber. This equivalence is established in the setting of symmetric monoidal $\infty$-categories and respects the full motivic structure. Furthermore, we enrich both realizations with Galois actions, yielding $G_{\breve{\mathbb{Q}}_{p}}$-equivariant solid quasi-coherent sh…
This paper is the first in a series which aims at: (a) giving a proof that the associator relations between multizeta values imply the double shuffle and regularization (DSR) ones, alternative to that of the second-named author's 2010 paper; (b) enhancing Racinet's construction of a torsor structure over the Q-scheme of DSR relations to an explicit bitorsor structure. In this paper, we revisit Racinet's original DSR formalism, whose main character is an algebra coproduct, called the harmonic coproduct, and we introduce a variant which is a module coproduct; we explain the `de Rham' nature of t…
We introduce and survey a Betti form of the geometric Langlands conjecture, parallel to the de Rham form developed by Beilinson-Drinfeld and Arinkin-Gaitsgory, and the Dolbeault form of Donagi-Pantev, and inspired by the work of Kapustin-Witten in supersymmetric gauge theory. The conjecture proposes an automorphic category associated to a compact Riemann surface X and complex reductive group G is equivalent to a spectral category associated to the underlying topological surface S and Langlands dual group G^. The automorphic category consists of suitable C-sheaves on the moduli stack Bun_G(X) o…
Let $X$ be an algebraic scheme over an algebraically closed field and $\ell$ a prime number invertible on $X$. According to classical results (due essentially to A. Grothendieck, M. Artin and P. Deligne), the étale cohomology groups $\mathrm{H}^i(X,\mathbb{Z}/\ell\mathbb{Z})$ are finite-dimensional. Using an $\ell$-adic variant of M. Artin's good neighborhoods and elementary results on the cohomology of pro-$\ell$ groups, we express the cohomology of $X$ as a well controlled colimit of that of toposes constructed on $BG$ where the $G$ are computable finite $\ell$-groups. From this, we deduce t…
Global intersection theories for smooth algebraic varieties via products in {\it appropriate}\, Poincaré duality theories are obtained. We assume given a (twisted) cohomology theory $H^*$ having a cup product structure and we let consider the ${\cal H}$-cohomology functor $X\leadsto H^{\#}_{Zar}(X,{\cal H}^*)$ where ${\cal H}^*$ is the Zariski sheaf associated to $H^*$. We show that the ${\cal H}$-cohomology rings generalize the classical ``intersection rings'' obtained via rational or algebraic equivalences. Several basic properties e.g.\, Gysin maps, projection formula and projective bundle …
Consider a Maslov zero Lagrangian submanifold diffeomorphic to a Lie group on which an anti-symplectic involution acts by the inverse map of the group. We show that the Fukaya $A_\infty$ endomorphism algebra of such a Lagrangian is quasi-isomorphic to its de Rham cohomology tensored with the Novikov field. In particular, it is unobstructed, formal, and its Floer and de Rham cohomologies coincide. Our result implies that the smooth fibers of a large class of singular Lagrangian fibrations are unobstructed and their Floer and de Rham cohomologies coincide. This is a step in the SYZ and family Fl…
A strong version of the quantization conjecture of Guillemin and Sternberg is proved. For a reductive group action on a smooth, compact, polarized variety (X,L), the cohomologies of L over the GIT quotient X // G equal the invariant part of the cohomologies over X. This generalizes the theorem of [Invent. Math. 67 (1982), 515-538] on global sections, and strengthens its subsequent extensions to Riemann-Roch numbers. Remarkable by-products are the invariance of cohomology of vector bundles over X // G under a small change in the defining polarization or under shift desingularization, as well as…
We compute the automorphism groups of the Dolbeault, de Rham and Betti moduli spaces for the multiplicative group ${\mathbb C}^*$ associated to a compact connected Riemann surface.
In this paper we study the monodromy action on the first Betti and de Rham non-abelian cohomology arising from a family of smooth curves. We describe sufficient conditions for the existence of a Zariski dense monodromy orbit. In particular we show that for a Lefschetz pencil of sufficiently high degree the monodromy action is dense.
We construct the dagger realization functor for analytic motives over non-archimedean fields of mixed characteristic, as well as the Monsky-Washnitzer realization functor for algebraic motives over a discrete field of positive characteristic. In particular, the motivic language on the classic étale site provides a new direct definition of the overconvergent de Rham cohomology and rigid cohomology and shows that their finite dimensionality follows formally from the one of Betti cohomology for smooth projective complex varieties.
For a proper, smooth scheme $X$ over a $p$-adic field $K$, we show that any proper, flat, semistable $\mathcal{O}_K$-model $\mathcal{X}$ of $X$ whose logarithmic de Rham cohomology is torsion free determines the same $\mathcal{O}_K$-lattice inside $H^i_{dR}(X/K)$ and, moreover, that this lattice is functorial in $X$. For this, we extend the results of Bhatt--Morrow--Scholze on the construction and the analysis of an $A_{inf}$-valued cohomology theory of $p$-adic formal, proper, smooth $\mathcal{O}_{\overline{K}}$-schemes $\mathfrak{X}$ to the semistable case. The relation of the $A_{inf}$-coho…
We construct a period regulator for motivic cohomology of an algebraic scheme over a subfield of the complex numbers. For the field of algebraic numbers we formulate a period conjecture for motivic cohomology by saying that this period regulator is surjective. Showing that a suitable Betti--de Rham realization of 1-motives is fully faithful we can verify this period conjecture in several cases. The divisibility properties of motivic cohomology imply that our conjecture is a neat generalization of the classical Grothendieck period conjecture for algebraic cycles on smooth and proper schemes. Th…
We describe the mod $p^r$ pro $K$-groups $\{K_n(A/I^s)/p^r\}_s$ of a regular local $\mathbb F_p$-algebra $A$ modulo powers of a suitable ideal $I$, in terms of logarithmic Hodge-Witt groups, by proving pro analogues of the theorems of Geisser-Levine and Bloch-Kato-Gabber. This is achieved by combining the pro Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg theorem in topological cyclic homology with the development of the theory of de Rham-Witt complexes and logarithmic Hodge-Witt sheaves on formal schemes in characteristic $p$. Applications include the following: the infinitesimal part of the weak Lefschetz con…
