Structure theorems of mixable shuffle algebras and free commutative Rota-Baxter algebras

We study the ring theoretical structures of mixable shuffle algebras and their associated free commutative Rota-Baxter algebras. For this study we utilize the connection of the mixable shuffle algebras with the overlapping shuffle algebra of Hazewinkel, quasi-shuffle algebras of Hoffman and quasi-symmetric functions. This connection allows us to apply methods and results on shuffle products and Lyndon words on ordered sets. As a result, we obtain structure theorems for a large class of mixable shuffle algebras and free commutative Rota-Baxter algebras with various coefficient rings.

In this paper we study right $S$-Noetherian rings and modules, extending of notions introduced by Anderson and Dumitrescu in commutative algebra to noncommutative rings. Two characterizations of right $S$-Noetherian rings are given in terms of completely prime right ideals and point annihilator sets. A commutative algebra over a field gives rise to a representation of the category of finite sets and surjective maps. We consider the restriction of this representation to the subcategory of sets of cardinality at most $r$. For each $r$, we present two non-isomorphic algebras that give rise to isomorphic representations of this subcategory.

We introduce a new invariant describing the structure of sets of lengths in atomic monoids and domains. A partial algebra construction of Grätzer and Schmidt from "Characterizations of congruence lattices of abstract algebras" (Acta Sci. Math. We combine the language of monoids with the language of preorders so as to refine some fundamental aspects of the classical theory of factorization and prove an abstract factorization theorem with a variety of applications.
