Let $ \mathcal D$ be a dense linear manifold in a Hilbert space $\mathcal H$ and let $L^+(\mathcal D)$ be the *-algebra of all linear operators $A$ such that $A \mathcal D \subset \mathcal D, A^* \mathcal D \subset \mathcal D$. Denote by $F(\mathcal D)$ the *-ideal of $L^+(\mathcal D)$ consisting of all finite-rank operators. A characterization of the structure of additive mappings of $F(\mathcal D)$ preserving operators of rank one or projections of rank one is given. The corresponding results for algebras of bounded operators on Banach spaces were given by P. uSemrl.

Zero product preservers and orthogonality preservers in algebras of unbounded operators

Applying a result of abstract ring theory we get that bijective additive mappings on standard algebras of unbounded operators preserving zero products are multiples of ring isomorphisms. The structure of additive bijective mappings on certain classes of standard algebras of unbounded operators preserving orthogonality in both directions is also investigated. The results are quite similar to those for algebras of bounded operators

Additive maps preserving idempotency of products or Jordan products of operators

Let H and K be infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces, while B(H) and B(K) denote the algebras of all linear bounded operators on H and K, respectively. We characterize the forms of additive mappings from B(H) into B(K) that preserve the nonzero idempotency of either Jordan products of operators or usual products of operators in both directions.

Additive Local Multiplications and zero-preserving maps on $C(X)$

Suppose $X$ is a compact Hausdorff space. In terms of topolocical properties of $X$, we find topological conditions on $X$ that are equivalent to each of the following: 1. every additive local multiplication on $C\left( X\right) $ is a multiplication, 2. every additive local multiplication on $C_{R}\left( X\right) $ is a multiplication, and 3. every additive map on $C\left( X\right) $ that is zero-preserving (i.e., $f\left( x\right) =0$ implies $\left( Tf\right) \left( x\right) =0$) has the form $T\left( f\right) =T\left( 1\right) \operatorname{Re}f+T\left( i\right) \operatorname{Im}f$.

Orthogonally additive, orthogonality preserving, holomorphic mappings between C*-algebras

We study holomorphic maps between C$^*$-algebras $A$ and $B$. Additivity of maps preserving Jordan $η_{\ast}$-products on $C^{*}$-algebras

Let $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ be two $C^{*}$-algebras such that $\mathcal{B}$ is prime. In this paper, we investigate the additivity of map $Φ$ from $\mathcal{A}$ onto $\mathcal{B}$ that are bijective unital and satisfies $$Φ(AP+ηPA^{*})=Φ(A)Φ(P)+ηΦ(P)Φ(A)^{*},$$ for all $A\in\mathcal{A}$ and $P\in\{P_{1},I_{\mathcal{A}}-P_{1}\}$ where $P_{1}$ is a nontrivial projection in $\mathcal{A}$. Let $η$ be a non-zero complex number such that $|η|\neq1$, then $Φ$ is additive. Moreover, if $η$ is rational then $Φ$ is $\ast$-additive.

Survey on a quantum stochastic extension of Stone's Theorem

From Kümmerer's investigations on stationary Markov processes has emerged an operator algebraic definition of white noises which captures many examples from classical as well as from non-commutative probability. Additivity of maps preserving products $AP\pm PA^{}$ on $C^{}$-algebras

Let $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ be two prime $C^{*}$-algebras. In this paper, we investigate the additivity of map $Φ$ from $\mathcal{A}$ onto $\mathcal{B}$ that are bijective unital and satisfies $$Φ(AP+λPA^{*})=Φ(A)Φ(P)+λΦ(P)Φ(A)^{*},$$ for all $A\in\mathcal{A}$ and $P\in\{P_{1},I_{\mathcal{A}}-P_{1}\}$ where $P_{1}$ is a nontrivial projection in $\mathcal{A}$ and $λ\in\{-1,+1\}$. Orthogonally additive holomorphic maps between C*-algebras

Let $A,B$ be C*-algebras, $B_A(0;r)$ the open ball in $A$ centered at $0$ with radius $r>0$, and $H:B_A(0;r)\to B$ an orthogonally additive holomorphic map. Failure of the trilinear operator space Grothendieck theorem

We give a counterexample to a trilinear version of the operator space Grothendieck theorem. In particular, we show that for trilinear forms on $\ell_\infty$, the ratio of the symmetrized completely bounded norm and the jointly completely bounded norm is in general unbounded, answering a question of Pisier. The proof is based on a non-commutative version of the generalized von Neumann inequality from additive combinatorics.
