Coarse co-assembly as a ring homomorphism

The $K$-theory of the stable Higson corona of a coarse space carries a canonical ring structure. This ring is the domain of an unreduced version of the coarse co-assembly map of Emerson and Meyer. We show that the target also carries a ring structure and co-assembly is a ring homomorphism, provided that the given coarse space is contractible in a coarse sense.

Asymptotically exact spaces and coarse assembly

Between the category of exact metric spaces with bounded geometry (about which much is known) and the larger category of arbitrary exact metric spaces (about which little is known) lies the intermediate category of asymptotically exact metric spaces. We show that the coarse Baum-Connes assembly map is naturally split surjective for this class, with generally non-zero kernel.

A Bott periodicity theorem for $\ell^p$-spaces and the coarse Novikov conjecture at infinity

We formulate and prove a Bott periodicity theorem for an $\ell^p$-space ($1\leq p<\infty$). For a proper metric space $X$ with bounded geometry, we introduce a version of $K$-homology at infinity, denoted by $K_*^{\infty}(X)$, and the Roe algebra at infinity, denoted by $C^*_{\infty}(X)$. Then the coarse assembly map descents to a map from $\lim_{d\to\infty}K_*^{\infty}(P_d(X))$ to $K_*(C^*_{\infty}(X))$, called the coarse assembly map at infinity. Operator ideals and assembly maps in $K$-theory

Let $\cB$ be the ring of bounded operators in a complex, separable Hilbert space. For $p>0$ consider the Schatten ideal $\cL^p$ consisting of those operators whose sequence of singular values is $p$-summable; put $\cS=\bigcup_p\cL^p$. K-theory for the maximal Roe algebra of certain expanders

We study in this paper the maximal version of the coarse Baum-Connes assembly map for families of expanding graphs arising from residually finite groups. Unlike for the usual Roe algebra, we show that this assembly map is closely related to the (maximal) Baum-Connes assembly map for the group and is an isomorphism for a class of expanders. We also introduce a quantitative Baum-Connes assembly map and discuss its connections to K-theory of (maximal) Roe algebras.
