An involutive distribution $C$ on a smooth manifold $M$ is a Lie-algebroid acting on sections of the normal bundle $TM/C$. It is known that the Chevalley-Eilenberg complex associated to this representation of $C$ possesses the structure $\mathbb{X}$ of a strong homotopy Lie-Rinehart algebra. It is natural to interpret $\mathbb{X}$ as the (derived) Lie-Rinehart algebra of vector fields on the space $\mathbb{P}$ of integral manifolds of $C$. Central extension of graded Lie algebras

In this thesis we describe the universal central extension of two important classes of so-called root-graded Lie algebras defined over a commutative associative unital ring $k.$ Root-graded Lie algebras are Lie algebras which are graded by the root lattice of a locally finite root system and contain enough $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-triples to separate the homogeneous spaces of the grading. Veronese powers of operads and pure homotopy algebras

We define the $m$th Veronese power of a weight graded operad $\mathcal{P}$ to be its suboperad $\mathcal{P}^{[m]}$ generated by operations of weight $m$. It turns out that, unlike Veronese powers of associative algebras, homological properties of operads are, in general, not improved by this construction. However, under some technical conditions, Veronese powers of quadratic Koszul operads are meaningful in the context of the Koszul duality theory.
