This article is a continuation of work on construction and calculation various of modifications of invariant based on the use Euclidean metric values attributed to elements of manifold triangulation. We again address the well investigated lens spaces as a standard tool for checking the nontriviality of topological invariants.

Euclidean simplices and invariants of three-manifolds: a modification of the invariant for lens spaces

We propose a modification of the three-manifold invariant based on the use of Euclidean metric values ascribed to the elements of manifold triangulation. We thus obtain a nontrivial invariant that can, in particular, distinguish non-homeomorphic lens spaces.

Virtual quandle for links in lens spaces

We construct a virtual quandle for links in lens spaces $L(p,q)$, with $q=1$. This invariant has two valuable advantages over an ordinary fundamental quandle for links in lens spaces: the virtual quandle is an essential invariant and the presentation of the virtual quandle can be easily written from the band diagram of a link.

Distinguishing three-dimensional lens spaces L(7,1) and L(7,2) by means of classical pentagon equation

We construct new topological invariants of three-dimensional manifolds which can, in particular, distinguish homotopy equivalent lens spaces L(7,1) and L(7,2). The invariants are built on the base of a classical (not quantum) solution of pentagon equation, i.e.algebraic relation corresponding to a ``2 tetrahedra to 3 tetrahedra'' local re-building of a manifold triangulation. This solution, found earlier by one of the authors, is expressed in terms of metric characteristics of Euclidean tetrahedra.

On the classification of fake lens spaces

In the first part of the paper we present a classification of fake lens spaces of dimension >= 5 whose fundamental group is the cyclic group of order N >= 2. The classification uses and extends the results of Wall and others in the case N = 2 and N odd and the results of the authors of the present paper in the case N a power of 2. In the second part we study the suspension map between the simple structure sets of lens spaces of different dimensions. As an application we obtain an inductive geometric description of the torsion invariants of fake lens spaces.

Theta Invariants of lens spaces via the BV-BFV formalism

The goal of this paper is to investigate the Theta invariant --- an invariant of framed 3-manifolds associated with the lowest order contribution to the Chern-Simons partition function --- in the context of the quantum BV-BFV formalism. Configuration spaces are not homotopy invariant

We present a counterexample to the conjecture on the homotopy invariance of configuration spaces. More precisely, we consider the lens spaces $L_{7,1}$ and $L_{7,2}$, and prove that their configuration spaces are not homotopy equivalent by showing that their universal coverings have different Massey products.

A Euclidean Geometric Invariant of Framed (Un)Knots in Manifolds

We present an invariant of a three-dimensional manifold with a framed knot in it based on the Reidemeister torsion of an acyclic complex of Euclidean geometric origin. To show its nontriviality, we calculate the invariant for some framed (un)knots in lens spaces. Our invariant is related to a finite-dimensional fermionic topological quantum field theory.

Complex-projective and lens product spaces

Let $t$ be a positive integer. Following work of D. M. Davis, we study the topology of complex-projective product spaces, i.e. quotients of cartesian products of odd dimensional spheres by the diagonal $S^1$-action, and of the $t$-torsion lens product spaces, i.e. the corresponding quotients when the action is restricted to the $t^{\mathrm{th}}$ roots of unity. ADO invariants directly from partial traces of homological representations

The ADO invariants are a sequence of non-semisimple quantum invariants coming from the representation theory of the quantum group $U_q(sl(2))$ at roots of unity. Ito showed that these invariants are sums of traces of quotients of homological representations of braid groups (truncated Lawrence representations). In this paper we show a direct homological formula for the ADO invariants, as sums of partial traces of Lawrence type representations, without further truncations.
