We show that the associative algebra structure can be incorporated in the BRST quantization formalism for gauge theories such that extension from the corresponding Lie algebra to the associative algebra is achieved using operator quantization of reducible gauge theories. The BRST differential that encodes the associativity of the algebra multiplication is constructed as a second-order quadratic differential operator on the bar resolution.

Weak associativity and deformation quantization

Non-commutativity and non-associativity are quite natural in string theory. Deformation quantization is a formal deformation of the algebra of smooth functions on some manifold. In the classical setting, the Poisson bracket serves as an initial conditions, while the associativity allows to proceed to higher orders. A path integral approach to the Kontsevich quantization formula

We give a quantum field theory interpretation of Kontsevich's deformation quantization formula for Poisson manifolds. We show that it is given by the perturbative expansion of the path integral of a simple topological bosonic open string theory. Its Batalin-Vilkovisky quantization yields a superconformal field theory. The associativity of the star product, and more generally the formality conjecture can then be understood by field theory methods. As an application, we compute the center of the deformed algebra in terms of the center of the Poisson algebra.

Hamiltonian BRST and Batalin-Vilkovisky formalisms for second quantization of gauge theories

Gauge theories that have been first quantized using the Hamiltonian BRST operator formalism are described as classical Hamiltonian BRST systems with a BRST charge of the form <Ψ,ΩΨ>_{even} and with natural ghost and parity degrees for all fields. The associated proper solution of the classical Batalin-Vilkovisky master equation is constructed from first principles. Both of these formulations can be used as starting points for second quantization. In the case of time reparametrization invariant systems, the relation to the standard <Ψ,ΩΨ>_{odd} master action is established.

In this paper we introduce the concept of Hamiltonian system in the canonical and Poisson settings. We will discuss the quantization of the Hamiltonian systems in the Poisson context, using formal deformation quantization and quantum group theories.

Combinatorial quantization of the Hamiltonian Chern-Simons theory I

Motivated by a recent paper of Fock and Rosly \cite{FoRo} we describe a mathematically precise quantization of the Hamiltonian Chern-Simons theory. We introduce the Chern-Simons theory on the lattice which is expected to reproduce the results of the continuous theory exactly. The lattice model enjoys the symmetry with respect to a quantum gauge group. Using this fact we construct the algebra of observables of the Hamiltonian Chern-Simons theory equipped with a *-operation and a positive inner product.

A quantization of the Hitchin hamiltonian system and the Beilinson-Drinfeld isomorphism

We will study the Hitchin's hamiltonian system for a modular stack of principal SL_2(C) bundle on a smooth projective curve which has a parabolic reduction at certain points. As an application we will obtain a generalization of the Beilinson-Drinfeld isomorphism, which is a quantization of the Hitchin's hamiltonian system.

Quantization of Hamiltonian coactions via twist

In this paper we introduce a notion of quantum Hamiltonian (co)action of Hopf algebras endowed with Drinfel'd twist structure (resp., 2-cocycles). First, we define a classical Hamiltonian action in the setting of Poisson Lie groups compatible with the 2-cocycle stucture and we discuss a concrete example. This allows us to construct, out of the classical momentum map, a quantum momentum map in the setting of Hopf coactions and to quantize it by using Drinfel'd approach.

Link Invariants and Combinatorial Quantization of Hamiltonian Chern-Simons Theory

We define and study the properties of observables associated to any link in $Σ\times {\bf R}$ (where $Σ$ is a compact surface) using the combinatorial quantization of hamiltonian Chern-Simons theory. These observables are traces of holonomies in a non commutative Yang-Mills theory where the gauge symmetry is ensured by a quantum group. We show that these observables are link invariants taking values in a non commutative algebra, the so called Moduli Algebra. When $Σ=S^2$ these link invariants are pure numbers and are equal to Reshetikhin-Turaev link invariants.

Quantization of Lie bialgebras and shuffle algebras of Lie algebras

To any field K of characteristic 0, we associate a set Sha(K). Elements of Sha(K) are equivalence classes of families of Lie polynomials subject to associativity relations. We construct an injection and a retraction between Sha(K) and the set of quantization functors of Lie bialgebras over K. Hamiltonian Quantization of Chern-Simons theory with SL(2,C) Group

We analyze the hamiltonian quantization of Chern-Simons theory associated to the universal covering of the Lorentz group SO(3,1). The algebra of observables is generated by finite dimensional spin networks drawn on a punctured topological surface. Our main result is a construction of a unitary representation of this algebra. BRST cohomologies for symplectic reflection algebras and quantizations of hypertoric varieties

We study algebras constructed by quantum Hamiltonian reduction associated with symplectic quotients of symplectic vector spaces, including deformed preprojective algebras, symplectic reflection algebras (rational Cherednik algebras), and quantization of hypertoric varieties introduced by Musson and Van den Bergh. We determine BRST cohomologies associated with these quantum Hamiltonian reductions. To compute these BRST cohomologies, we make use of method of deformation quantization (DQ-algebras) and F-action studied in [Kashiwara-Rouquier], and in [Gordon-Losev].

Isomorphisms of quantizations via quantization of resolutions

In this paper we prove the existence of isomorphisms between certain non-commutative algebras that are interesting from representation theoretic perspective and arise as quantizations of certain Poisson algebras. We show that quantizations of Kleinian resolutions obtained by three different constructions are isomorphic to each other.
