We define an abstract nonlinear elliptic system, admitting a variational structure, and including the vortex equations for some Maxwell-Chern-Simons gauge theories as special cases. We analyze the asymptotic behavior of its solutions, and we provide a general simplified framework for the asymptotics previously derived in those special cases. As a byproduct of our abstract formulation, we also find some new qualitative properties of solutions.

The Chern-Simons-Higgs and the Chern-Simons-Dirac equations in Fourier-Lebesgue spaces

The Chern-Simons-Higgs and the Chern-Simons-Dirac systems in Lorenz gauge are locally well-posed in suitable Fourier-Lebesgue spaces $\hat{H}^{s,r}$. Our aim is to minimize $s=s(r)$ in the range $1<r \le 2$ . If $r \to 1$ we show that we almost reach the critical regularity dictated by scaling. In the classical case $r=2$ the results are due to Huh and Oh. Crucial is the fact that the decisive quadratic nonlinearities fulfill a null condition.

Low regularity solutions to the Chern-Simons-Dirac and the Chern-Simons-Higgs equations in the Lorenz gauge

In this paper, we address the problem of local well-posedness of the Chern-Simons-Dirac (CSD) and the Chern-Simons-Higgs (CSH) equations in the Lorenz gauge for low regularity initial data. One of our main contributions is the uncovering of a null structure of (CSD). Small data global existence and decay for relativistic Chern-Simons equations

We establish a general small data global existence and decay theorem for Chern-Simons theories with a general gauge group, coupled with a massive relativistic field of spin 0 or 1/2. Our result applies to a wide range of relativistic Chern-Simons theories considered in the literature, including the abelian/non-abelian self-dual Chern-Simons-Higgs equation and the Chern-Simons-Dirac equation. A key idea is to develop and employ a gauge invariant vector field method for relativistic Chern-Simons theories, which allows us to avoid the long range effect of charge.
