Stability conditions on product varieties
Given a stability condition on a smooth projective variety $X$, we construct a family of stability conditions on $X\times C$, where $C$ is a smooth projective curve. In particular, this gives the existence of stability conditions on arbitrary products of curves. The proof uses, by following an idea of Toda, the positivity lemma established by Bayer and Macrì and weak stability conditions on the Abramovich-Polishchuk heart of a bounded t-structure in $D(X\times C)$.

Combinatorial Lefschetz theorems beyond positivity
Consider a simplicial complex that allows for an embedding into $\mathbb{R}^d$. How many faces of dimension $\frac{d}{2}$ or higher can it have? How dense can they be? This basic question goes back to Descartes' "Lost Theorem" and Euler's work on polyhedra. Using it and other fundamental combinatorial problems, we introduce a version of the Kähler package beyond positivity, allowing us to prove the hard Lefschetz theorem for toric varieties (and beyond) even when the ample cone is empty. Smooth Divisors of Projective Hypersurfaces
We work over an algebraically closed field of arbitrary characteristic. Ellingsrud-Peskine proved that smooth surfaces in P^4 are subject to strong limitations. Their whole argument is derived from the fact that the sectional genus of surfaces of degree d lying on a hypersurface of degree s varies in an interval of length \frac{d(s-1)^2}{2s}.
