An algebraic approach to virtual fundamental cycles on moduli spaces of pseudo-holomorphic curves

We develop techniques for defining and working with virtual fundamental cycles on moduli spaces of pseudo-holomorphic curves which are not necessarily cut out transversally. Such techniques have the potential for applications as foundations for invariants in symplectic topology arising from "counting" pseudo-holomorphic curves. We introduce the notion of an *implicit atlas* on a moduli space, which is (roughly) a convenient system of local finite-dimensional reductions. Homological stability properties of spaces of rational J-holomorphic curves in P^2

In a well known work [Se], Graeme Segal proved that the space of holomorphic maps from a Riemann surface to a complex projective space is homology equivalent to the corresponding continuous mapping space through a range of dimensions increasing with degree. In this paper, we address if a similar result holds when other (not necessarily integrable) almost complex structures are put on projective space. Gluing theories of contact instantons and of pseudoholomoprhic curves in SFT

We develop the gluing theory of contact instantons in the context of open strings and in the context of closed strings \emph{with vanishing charge}, for example in the symplectization context. This is one of the key ingredients for the study of (virtually) smooth moduli space of (bordered) contact instantons needed for the construction of contact instanton Floer cohomology and more generally for the construction of Fukaya-type category of Legendrian submanifolds in contact manifold $(M,ξ)$. Holomorphic curves in Exploded Torus Fibrations: Compactness

The category of exploded torus fibrations is an extension of the category of smooth manifolds in which some adiabatic limits look smooth. (For example, the limits considered in tropical geometry appear smooth, also degenerations corresponding to an algebraic family with normal crossing singularities are smooth.) In this paper we prove a compactness theorem for (pseudo)-holomorphic curves in exploded torus fibrations. In the case of smooth manifolds, this is just a version of Gromov's compactness theorem in a topology strong enough for gluing analysis.

Deformation Theory of Log Pseudo-holomorphic Curves and Logarithmic Ruan-Tian Perturbations

In a previous paper [FT1], for any logarithmic symplectic pair (X,D) of a symplectic manifold X and a simple normal crossings symplectic divisor D, we introduced the notion of log pseudo-holomorphic curve and proved a compactness theorem for the moduli spaces of stable log curves. In this paper, we introduce a natural set up for studying the deformation theory of log (and relative) curves. Deformations of symplectic vortices

We prove a gluing theorem for a symplectic vortex on a compact complex curve and a collection of holomorphic sphere bubbles. Using the theorem we show that the moduli space of regular stable symplectic vortices on a fixed curve with varying markings has the structure of a stratified-smooth topological orbifold. In addition, we show that the moduli space has a non-canonical $C^1$-orbifold structure.

Pseudoholomorphic Curves Relative to a Normal Crossings Symplectic Divisor: Compactification
