Newtonian normal shift in multidimensional Riemannian geometry

Curvature Blow-up in Doubly-warped Product Metrics Evolving by Ricci Flow

For any manifold $N^p$ admitting an Einstein metric with positive Einstein constant, we study the behavior of the Ricci flow on high-dimensional products $M = N^p \times S^{q+1}$ with doubly-warped product metrics. In particular, we provide a rigorous construction of local, type II, conical singularity formation on such spaces. It is shown that for any $k > 1$ there exists a solution with curvature blow-up rate $\| Rm \|_{\infty} (t) \gtrsim (T-t)^{-k}$ with singularity modeled on a Ricci-flat cone at parabolic scales.

Dynamical systems admitting normal shift and wave equations

High frequency limit for most of wave phenomena is known as quasiclassical limit or ray optics limit. Propagation of waves in this limit is described in terms of wave fronts and rays. Wave front is a surface of constant phase whose points are moving along rays. As it appears, their motion can be described by Hamilton equations being special case for Newton's equations. In simplest cases (e. g. light propagation in isotropic non-homogeneous refracting media) the dynamics of points preserves orthogonality of wave front and rays. On the subset of normality equations describing generalized Legendre transformation

Normality equations describe Newtonian dynamical systems admitting normal shift of hypersurfaces. They were first derived in Euclidean geometry, then in Riemannian geometry. Recently they were rederived in more general case, when geometry of manifold is given by generalized Legendre transformation. As appears, in this case some part of normality equations describe generalized Legendre transformation itself irrespective to that Newtonian dynamical system, for which others are written. In present paper this smaller part of normality equations is studied.

Normality equations describe Newtonian dynamical systems admitting normal shift of hypersurfaces. These equations were first derived in Euclidean geometry. On the concept of normal shift in non-metric geometry

Theory of Newtonian dynamical systems admitting normal shift of hypersurfaces was first developed for the case of Riemannian manifolds. Recently it was generalized for manifolds geometric equipment of which is given by some regular Lagrangian or, equivalently, by some regular Hamiltonian dynamical system. In present paper we consider further generalization of this theory for the case, when geometry of manifold is given by generalized Legendre transformation.
