The Periodic Response of Periodically Perturbated Stochastic Systems

This quantity is a measure of minimal periodicity, can be detected in the process deep differential structure. The claim is that this new measure of stochasticity is also a well adapted characteristic for research of stochastic resonance phenomena.

An Isotopic Perturbation Lemma Along Periodic Orbits

A well-known lemma by John Franks asserts that one obtains any perturbation of the derivative of a diffeomorphism along a periodic orbit by a $C^1$-perturbation of the whole diffeomorphism on a small neighbourhood of the orbit. When does a Periodic Response Exist in a Periodically Forced Multi-Degree-of-Freedom Mechanical System?

While periodic responses of periodically forced dissipative nonlinear mechanical systems are commonly observed in experiments and numerics, their existence can rarely be concluded in rigorous mathematical terms. Generalized Periodic Orbits of Time-Periodically Forced Kepler Problem Accumulating the Center and of Circular and Elliptic Restricted Three-Body Problems

In this paper, we consider a time-periodically forced Kepler problem in any dimensions, with an external force which we only assume to be regular in a neighborhood of the attractive center. We prove that there exist infinitely many periodic orbits in this system, with possible double collisions with the center regularized, which accumulate the attractive center. Twist dynamics and Aubry-Mather sets around a periodically perturbed point-vortex

We consider the model of a point-vortex under a periodic perturbation and give sufficient conditions for the existence of generalized quasi-periodic solutions with rotation number. The proof uses Aubry-Mather theory to obtain the existence of a family of minimal orbits of the Poincaré map associated to the system.

Convergence of Periodically-Forced Rank-Type Equations

Consider a difference equation which takes the k-th largest output of m functions of the previous m terms of the sequence. If the functions are also allowed to change periodically as the difference equation evolves this is analogous to a differential equation with periodic forcing. A large class of such non-autonomous difference equations are shown to converge to a periodic limit which is independent of the initial condition. The period of the limit does not depend on how far back each term is allowed to look back in the sequence, and is in fact equal to the period of the forcing.

On a generalization of the global attractivity for a periodically forced Pielou's equation

In this paper, we study the global attractivity for a class of periodic difference equation with delay which has a generalized form of Pielou's difference equation. Towards a renormalization theory for quasi-periodically forced one dimensional maps III. Numerical Support

In a previous work by the authors the one dimensional (doubling) renormalization operator was extended to the case of quasi-periodically forced one dimensional maps. The theory was used to explain different self-similarity and universality observed numerically in the parameter space of the Forced Logistic Maps. The extension proposed was not complete in the sense that we assumed a total of four conjectures to be true. In this paper we present numerical support for these conjectures. We also discuss the applicability of this theory to the Forced Logistic Map.

Existence of periodic solutions for the periodically forced SIR model

We prove that the seasonally-forced SIR model with a T-periodic forcing has a periodic solution with period T whenever the basic reproductive number R0>1. The proof uses the Leray-Schauder degree theory. We also describe some numerical results in which we compute the T-periodic solution, where in order to obtain the T-periodic solution when the behavior of the system is subharmonic or chaotic, we use a Galerkin scheme.
