Jost function, prime numbers and Riemann zeta function

The large complex zeros of the Jost function (poles of the S matrix) in the complex wave number-plane for s-wave scattering by truncated potentials are associated to the distribution of large prime numbers as well as to the asymptotic behavior of the imaginary parts of the zeros of the Riemann zeta function on the critical line. A variant of the Hilbert and Polya conjecture is proposed and considerations about the Dirac sea as ``virtual resonances'' are briefly discussed.

On the Quantum Reconstruction of the Riemann zeros

We discuss a possible spectral realization of the Riemann zeros based on the Hamiltonian $H = xp$ perturbed by a term that depends on two potentials, which are related to the Berry-Keating semiclassical constraints. We find perturbatively the potentials whose Jost function is given by the zeta function $ζ(σ- i t)$ for $σ> 1$. For $σ= 1/2$ we find the potentials that yield the smooth approximation to the zeros. We show that the existence of potentials realizing the zeta function at $σ= 1/2$, as a Jost function, would imply that the Riemann zeros are point like spectrum embedded in the continuum…

Analytic structure and power-series expansion of the Jost function for the two-dimensional problem

For a two-dimensional quantum mechanical problem, we obtain a generalized power-series expansion of the S-matrix that can be done near an arbitrary point on the Riemann surface of the energy, similarly to the standard effective range expansion. In order to do this, we consider the Jost-function and analytically factorize its momentum dependence that causes the Jost function to be a multi-valued function. Sums of alternating products of Riemann zeta values and solution of a Monthly problem

We solve problem 11585 proposed by B. Burdick, AMM June-July 2011 {\bf 118} (6), p. 558 for the sum of certain products of Riemann zeta function values. We further point out an alternating sum analog, and then present and prove different alternating sum analogs. In addition, we present summation by parts and other results for the Hurwitz and Riemann zeta functions and for the digamma and trigamma functions.

An elementary and real approach to values of the Riemann zeta function

An elementary approach for computing the values at negative integers of the Riemann zeta function is presented. The approach is based on a new method for ordering the integers and a new method for summation of divergent series. We show that the values of the Riemann zeta function can be computed, without using the theory of analytic continuation and functions of complex variable.

Hypergeometric-like Representation of the Zeta-Function of Riemann

We present a new expansion of the zeta-function of Riemann. The current formalism -- which combines both the idea of interpolation with constraints and the concept of hypergeometric functions -- can, in a natural way, be generalised within the theory of the zeta-function of Hawking offering thus a variety of applications in quantum field theory, quantum cosmology and statistical mechanics.

Starting from a quantized version of the classical Hamiltonian H = x p, we add a non local interaction which depends on two potentials. Quantum Spin Chains and Riemann Zeta Function with Odd Arguments

Riemann zeta function is an important object of number theory. It was also used for description of disordered systems in statistical mechanics. We show that Riemann zeta function is also useful for the description of integrable model. We study XXX Heisenberg spin 1/2 anti-ferromagnet. We evaluate a probability of formation of a ferromagnetic string in the anti-ferromagnetic ground state in thermodynamics limit. We prove that for short strings the probability can be expressed in terms of Riemann zeta function with odd arguments.
