We consider the ferromagnetic Ising model with Glauber spin flip dynamics in one dimension. The external magnetic field vanishes and the couplings are i.i.d. random variables. If their distribution has compact support, the disorder averaged spin auto-correlation function has an exponential decay in time. We prove that, if the couplings are unbounded, the decay switches to either a power law or a stretched exponential, in general.
A natural formulation of the theory of quantum measurements in continuous time is based on quantum stochastic differential equations (Hudson-Parthasarathy equations). However, such a theory was developed only in the case of Hudson-Parthasarathy equations with bounded coefficients. By using some results on Hudson-Parthasarathy equations with unbounded coefficients, we are able to extend the theory of quantum continuous measurements to cases in which unbounded operators on the system space are involved. A significant example of a quantum optical system (the degenerate parametric oscillator) is s…
We prove a limit theorem for quantum stochastic differential equations with unbounded coefficients which extends the Trotter-Kato theorem for contraction semigroups. From this theorem, general results on the convergence of approximations and singular perturbations are obtained. The results are illustrated in several examples of physical interest.
We establish upper bounds for the spectral gap of the stochastic Ising model at low temperatures in an n-by-n box with boundary conditions which are not purely plus or minus; specifically, we assume the magnitude of the sum of the boundary spins over each interval of length n in the boundary is bounded by δn, where δ< 1. We show that for any such boundary condition, when the temperature is sufficiently low (depending on δ), the spectral gap decreases exponentially in n.
We consider infinite harmonic chain on the real line with deterministic dynamics (no stochasticity). We indicate classes of uniformly bounded initial conditions when the trajectories of particles stay uniformly bounded.
A characterization of the unbounded stochastic generators of quantum completely positive flows is given. This suggests the general form of quantum stochastic adapted evolutions with respect to the Wiener (diffusion), Poisson (jumps), or general Quantum Noise. The corresponding irreversible Heisenberg evolution in terms of stochastic completely positive (CP) maps is constructed. The general form and the dilation of the stochastic completely dissipative (CD) equation over the algebra L(H) is discovered, as well as the unitary quantum stochastic dilation of the subfiltering and contractive flows …
The complete framework for the $ε$-machine construction of the one dimensional Ising model is presented correcting previous mistakes on the subject. The approach follows the known treatment of the Ising model as a Markov random field, where usually the local characteristic are obtained from the stochastic matrix, the problem at hand needs the inverse relation, or how to obtain the stochastic matrix from the local characteristics, which are given via the transfer matrix treatment. The obtained expressions allow to perform complexity-entropy analysis of particular instance of the Ising model. Th…
We prove an optimal $O(n \log n)$ mixing time of the Glauber dynamics for the Ising models with edge activity $β\in \left(\frac{Δ-2}Δ, \fracΔ{Δ-2}\right)$. This mixing time bound holds even if the maximum degree $Δ$ is unbounded. We refine the boosting technique developed in [CFYZ21], and prove a new boosting theorem by utilizing the entropic independence defined in [AJK+21]. The theorem relates the modified log-Sobolev (MLS) constant of the Glauber dynamics for a near-critical Ising model to that for an Ising model in a sub-critical regime.
We establish upper bounds for the spectral gap of the stochastic Ising model at low temperature in an N-by-N box, with boundary conditions which are ``plus'' except for small regions at the corners which are either free or ``minus.'' The spectral gap decreases exponentially in the size of the corner regions, when these regions are of size at least of order \log N. This means that removing as few as O(\log N) plus spins from the corners produces a spectral gap far smaller than the order N^{-2} gap believed to hold under the all-plus boundary condition. Our results are valid at all subcritical t…
We construct a parallel stochastic dynamics with invariant measure converging to the Gibbs measure of the low temperature Ising model. The proof of such convergence requires a polymer expansion based on suitably defined Peierls-type contours.
We analyse the lower non trivial part of the spectrum of the generator of the Glauber dynamics, which we consider a positive operator, for a d-dimensional nearest neighbour Ising model with a bounded random potential. We prove conjecture 1 in a paper by Albeverio et al.(referred as [AMSZ]) that is, for sufficently large values of the temperature, the first band of the spectrum of the generator of the process coincides with a closed non random segment of the real line.
We review the algebraic and analytic aspects of the conformal field theory (CFT) and its relation to the stochastic Loewner evolution (SLE) in an example of the Ising model. We obtain the scaling limit of the correlation functions of Ising free fermions on an arbitrary simply connected two-dimensional domain $D$. Then, we study the analytic and algebraic aspects of the fermionic CFT on $D$, using the Fock space formalism of fields, and the Clifford vertex operator algebra (VOA). These constructions lead to the conformal field theory of the Fock space fields and the fermionic Fock space of stat…
We investigate the interface dynamics of the two-dimensional stochastic Ising model in an external field under helicoidal boundary conditions. At sufficiently low temperatures and fields, the dynamics of the interface is described by an exactly solvable high-spin asymmetric quantum Hamiltonian that is the infinitesimal generator of the zero range process. Generally, the critical dynamics of the interface fluctuations is in the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang universality class of critical behavior. We remark that a whole family of RSOS interface models similar to the Ising interface model investigated her…
We study the Glauber dynamics for the zero-temperature Ising model in dimension d=4 with "plus" boundary condition.Let T+ be the time needed for an hypercube of size L entirely filled with "minus" spins to become entirely "plus". We prove that T+ is O(L^2(log L)^c) for some constant c, not depending on the dimension. This brings further rigorous justification for the so-called "Lifshitz law" T+ = O(L^2) [5, 3] conjectured on heuristic grounds. The key point of our proof is to use the detail knowledge that we have on the three-dimensional problem: results for fluctuation of monotone interfaces …
We study an alternative approach to model the dynamical behaviors of biological feedback loop, that is, a type-dependent spin system, this class of stochastic models was introduced by Fernández et. al (2009), and are useful since take account to inherent variability of gene expression. We analyze a non-symmetric feedback module being an extension for the repressilator, the first synthetic biological oscillator, invented by Elowitz and Leibler (2000). We consider a mean-field dynamics for a type-dependent Ising model, and then study the empirical-magnetization vector representing concentration …
We introduce a new framework for analyzing Glauber dynamics for the Ising model. The traditional approach for obtaining sharp mixing results has been to appeal to estimates on spatial properties of the stationary measure from within a multi-scale analysis of the dynamics. Here we propose to study these simultaneously by examining "information percolation" clusters in the space-time slab. Using this framework, we obtain new results for the Ising model on $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})^d$ throughout the high temperature regime: total-variation mixing exhibits cutoff with an $O(1)$-window around the t…
We consider an Ising model on a square grid with ferromagnetic spin-spin interactions spanning beyond nearest neighbors. Starting from initial states with a single unbounded interface separating ordered phases, we investigate the evolution of the interface subject to zero-temperature spin-flip dynamics. We consider an interface which is initially (i) the boundary of the quadrant, or (ii) the boundary of a semi-infinite stripe. In the former case the interface recedes from its original location in a self-similar diffusive manner. After a re-scaling by t^{1/2}, the shape of the interface becomes…
