The role of fluctuation-dissipation relations (theorems) for the magnetization dynamics with Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert and Bloch-Bloembergen damping terms are discussed. We demonstrate that the use of the Callen-Welton fluctuation-dissipation theorem that was proven for Hamiltonian systems can give an inconsistent result for magnetic systems with dissipation.

Conformation dependent damping and generalization of fluctuation-dissipation relation

Damping on an object generally depends on its conformation (shape size etc.). We consider the Langevin dynamics of a model system with a conformation dependent damping and generalize the fluctuation dissipation relation to fit in such a situation. We derive equilibrium distribution function for such a case which converges to the standard Boltzmann form at the limit of uniform damping. The results can have implications, in general, for barrier overcoming processes where standard Boltzmann statistics is slow.

Linking fluctuation and dissipation in spatially extended out-of-equilibrium systems

For systems in equilibrium at a temperature $T$, thermal noise and energy damping are related to $T$ through the fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT). We study here an extension of the FDT to an out of equilibrium steady state: a microcantilever subject to a constant heat flux. The resulting thermal profile in this spatially extended system interplays with the local energy dissipation field to prescribe the amplitude of mechanical fluctuations. Radiation Induced Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert Damping in Ferromagnets

The Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert damping coefficient employed in the analysis of spin wave ferromagnetic resonance is related to the electrical conductivity of the sample. The changing magnetization (with time) radiates electromagnetic fields. The electromagnetic energy is then absorbed by the sample and the resulting heating effect describes magnetic dissipative damping. The ferromagnetic resonance relaxation rate theoretically depends on the geometry (shape and size) of the sample as well as temperature in agreement with experiment.

Asymmetric Langevin dynamics for the ferromagnetic spherical model

The present work pursues the investigation of the role of spatial asymmetry and irreversibility on the dynamical properties of spin systems. We consider the ferromagnetic spherical model with asymmetric linear Langevin dynamics. Spinwave damping in the two-dimensional ferromagnetic XY model

The effect of damping of spinwaves in a two-dimensional classical ferromagnetic XY model is considered. The damping rate $Γ_{q}$ is calculated using the leading diagrams due to the quartic-order deviations from the harmonic spin Hamiltonian. Noncontact friction: Role of phonon damping and its nonuniversality

While obtaining theoretical predictions for dissipation during sliding motion is a difficult task, one regime that allows for analytical results is the so-called noncontact regime, where a probe is weakly interacting with the surface over which it moves. Universality of Fluctuation-Dissipation Ratios: The Ferromagnetic Model

We calculate analytically the fluctuation-dissipation ratio (FDR) for Ising ferromagnets quenched to criticality, both for the long-range model and its short-range analogue in the limit of large dimension. Our exact solution shows that, for both models, $X^\infty=1/2$ if the system is unmagnetized while $X^\infty=4/5$ if the initial magnetization is non-zero. Aging in ferromagnetic systems at criticality near four dimensions

We study the off-equilibrium response and correlation functions and the corresponding fluctuation-dissipation ratio for a purely dissipative relaxation of an O(N) symmetric vector model (Model A) below its upper critical dimension. The scaling behavior of these quantities is analyzed and the associated universal functions are determined at first order in epsilon expansion in the high-temperature phase and at criticality. A non trivial limit of the fluctuation-dissipation ratio is found in the aging regime.
