We explore a {standard model} extension based on a local $U(1)_B$ symmetry, where a baryon-charged scalar mediates interactions between a fermionic dark matter candidate and {standard model} quarks. In this setup, the dark matter relic abundance is shaped not only by standard annihilation channels but also by additional coannihilation processes induced by a new scalar. The presence of this mediator provides a unified link between {dark sector} and flavor physics, yielding distinctive phenomenological consequences. We conduct a detailed study of dark matter phenomenology, emphasizing the role of the mass splitting between the dark matter particles and the scalar mediator in determining the efficiency of coannihilation. The parameter space is examined in light of existing constraints from cosmological observations, direct and indirect detection experiments, as well as the collider searches at the {\text{LHC}}. Our analysis shows that the extended scalar sector opens up viable regions of parameter space beyond those accessible in minimal \(U(1)_B\) realizations, many of which are expected to be tested by forthcoming searches at {\text{XENONnT}} and {the \text{Cherenkov Telescope Array}}. Moreover, the model induces correlated signatures from flavor observables associated with the $b \to s $ transitions as well, serving as complementary tests of the underlying framework.
Unlike the octet baryons for $N_f=3$, there is no skyrmion coming from the $η^\prime$ meson. It is instead described as a fractional quantum Hall droplet, a pancake or a pita involving a singular $η^\prime$ ring in which Chern-Simons fields live. By incorporating hidden local symmetry and hidden scale symmetry in nuclear dynamics, I describe how to access baryon-charged quantum Hall droplets in dense nuclear matter in terms of the nuclear scale-chiral effective field theory approach ``G$n$EFT" with the $U_A(1)$ anomaly taken into account. I discuss how the single-flavor baryon that I will call…
A scenario augmenting the well known Type-X Two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM) with an additional inert doublet is proposed. The Type-X 2HDM is known to offer a solution to the muon $g-2$ anomaly for a light pseudoscalar. We show that the proposed framework can accomodate a heavier pseudoscalar on account of two-loop Barr-Zee (BZ) contributions to muon $g-2$ stemming from the inert doublet. We subsequently explore an interesting $τ^+τ^- + $ missing transverse energy signal that can be used to probe the present scenario at the 14 TeV LHC.
Constraining the Higgs boson properties is a cornerstone of the LHC program. We study the potential to directly probe the Higgs-top CP-structure via the $t\bar{t}h$ channel at the LHC with the Higgs boson decaying to a bottom pair and top-quarks in the dileptonic mode. We show that a combination of laboratory and $t\bar{t}$ rest frame observables display large CP-sensitivity, exploring the spin correlations in the top decays. To efficiently reconstruct our final state, we present a method based on simple mass minimization and prove its robustness to shower, hadronization and detector effects. …
Self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) has gathered growing attention as a solution to the small scale problems of the collisionless cold dark matter (DM). We investigate the SIDM using stellar kinematics of 23 ultra-faint dwarf (UFD) galaxies with the phenomenological SIDM halo model. The UFDs are DM-dominated and have less active star formation history. Accordingly, they are the ideal objects to test the SIDM, as their halo profiles are least affected by the baryonic feedback processes. We found no UFDs favor non-zero self-interaction and some provide stringent constraints within the simple SID…
We show that the mere observation of the first stars (Pop III stars) in the universe can be used to place tight constraints on the strength of the interaction between dark matter and regular, baryonic matter. We apply this technique to a candidate Pop III stellar complex discovered with the Hubble Space Telescope at $z \sim 7$ and find bounds that are competitive with, or even stronger than, current direct detection experiments, such as XENON1T, for dark matter particles with mass ($m_X$) larger than about $100$ GeV. We also show that the discovery of sufficiently massive Pop III stars could b…
The New Physics (NP) effects are studied in the rare baryonic decay $Λ_b \to Λ(\to pπ^-)\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, with unpolarized $Λ_b$ using most general model independent approach by introducing new axial(vector), (pseudo)scalar and tensor operators in the weak effective Hamiltonian corresponding to $b\to s$ transitions. Recently, for $Λ_b \to Λ(\to pπ^-)μ^{+}μ^{-}$ decay the LHCb collaboration has measured the branching ratio $(d\mathcal{B}/ds)$, lepton- and hadron-side forward-backward asymmetries, denoted by $A_{FB}^{\ell}$ and $A_{FB}^Λ$, respectively, and the longitudinal polarization fractio…
