This work presents a real-time autonomous track navigation framework for nonholonomic differential-drive mobile robots by jointly integrating multi-task visual perception and a provably stable tracking controller. The perception pipeline reconstructs lane centerlines using 2D-to-3D camera projection, arc-length based uniform point resampling, and cubic polynomial fitting solved via robust QR least-squares optimization. The controller regulates robot linear and angular velocities through a Lyapunov-stability grounded design, ensuring bounded error dynamics and asymptotic convergence of position and heading deviations even in dynamic and partially perceived lane scenarios, without relying on HD prior maps or global satellite localization. Real-world experiments on embedded platforms verify system fidelity, real-time execution, trajectory smoothness, and closed-loop stability for reliable autonomous navigation.
Model-free Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) controllers have demonstrated promising results on various challenging non-linear control tasks. While a model-free DRL algorithm can solve unknown dynamics and high-dimensional problems, it lacks safety assurance. Although safety constraints can be encoded as part of a reward function, there still exists a large gap between an RL controller trained with this modified reward and a safe controller. In contrast, instead of implicitly encoding safety constraints with rewards, we explicitly co-learn a Twin Neural Lyapunov Function (TNLF) with the contro…

This paper presents the use of multi-sensor measurement system to guide autonomous mobile robot in the house. The system allows the 3D image acquisition to global mapping, and algorithms to reduce the dimensionality of images to 2D global map navigation, trajectory design approach using the Lyapunov function method and avoid obstacles by the potential energy can also be presented. Also, sensor integrated method based on extended Kalman filter allows us to identify the exact location and orientation of the robot in the presence of interference from the environment.

This paper considers the problem of fast and safe autonomous navigation in partially known environments. Our main contribution is a control policy design based on ellipsoidal trajectory bounds obtained from a quadratic state-dependent distance metric. The ellipsoidal bounds are used to embed directional preference in the control design, leading to system behavior that is adapted to the local environment geometry, carefully considering medial obstacles while paying less attention to lateral ones. We use a virtual reference governor system to adaptively follow a desired navigation path, slowing …
This paper presents a novel feedback motion planning method for mobile robot navigation in 3D uneven terrains. We take advantage of the \textit{supervoxel} representation of point clouds, which enables a compact connectivity graph of traversable regions on the point cloud maps. Given this graph of traversable areas, our approach navigates the robot to any reachable goal pose using a control Lyapunov function (cLf) and a navigation function. The cLf ensures the kinodynamic feasibility and target convergence of the generated motion plans, while the navigation function optimizes the resulting fee…

This paper presents a new chaotic system having four attractors, including two fixed point attractors and two symmetrical chaotic strange attractors. Dynamical properties of the system, viz. sensitive dependence on initial conditions, Lyapunov spectrum, strangeness measure, attraction basin, including the class and size of it, existence of strange attractor, bifurcation analysis, multistability, electronic circuit design, and hardware implementation, are rigorously treated. Numerical computations are used to compute the basin of attraction and show that the system has a far-reaching composite …

We propose coordinating guiding vector fields to achieve two tasks simultaneously with a team of robots: first, the guidance and navigation of multiple robots to possibly different paths or surfaces typically embedded in 2D or 3D; second, their motion coordination while tracking their prescribed paths or surfaces. The motion coordination is defined by desired parametric displacements between robots on the path or surface. Such a desired displacement is achieved by controlling the virtual coordinates, which correspond to the path or surface's parameters, between guiding vector fields. Rigorous …

Hybrid systems are prevalent in robotics. However, ensuring the stability of hybrid systems is challenging due to sophisticated continuous and discrete dynamics. A system with all its system modes stable can still be unstable. Hence special treatments are required at mode switchings to stabilize the system. In this work, we propose a hierarchical, neural network (NN)-based method to control general hybrid systems. For each system mode, we first learn an NN Lyapunov function and an NN controller to ensure the states within the region of attraction (RoA) can be stabilized. Then an RoA NN estimat…
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), commonly known as drones, have many potential uses in real world applications. Drones require advanced planning and navigation algorithms to enable them to safely move through and interact with the world around them. This paper presents an extended potential field controller (ePFC) which enables an aerial robot, or drone, to safely track a dynamic target location while simultaneously avoiding any obstacles in its path. The ePFC outperforms a traditional potential field controller (PFC) with smoother tracking paths and shorter settling times. The proposed ePFC's …

In this paper, we present an autonomous flight controller for a quadcopter with thrust vectoring capabilities. This UAV falls in the category of multirotors with tilt-motion enabled rotors. Since the vehicle considered is over-actuated in nature, the dynamics and control allocation have to be analysed carefully. Moreover, the possibility of hovering at large attitude maneuvers of this novel vehicle requires singularity-free attitude control. Hence, quaternion state feedback is utilized to compute the control commands for the UAV motors while avoiding the gimbal lock condition experienced by Eu…
