Using the recent six loop renormalization group functions for Lee-Yang and percolation theory constructed by Schnetz from a scalar cubic Lagrangian, we deduce the $ε$ expansion of the critical exponents for both cases. Estimates for the exponents in three, four and five dimensions are extracted using two-sided Padé approximants and shown to be compatible with values from other approaches.
We compute the critical exponents for nonextensive $λϕ^{3}$ scalar field theory for all loop orders and $|q - 1| < 1$. We apply the results for both nonextensive percolation and Lee-Yang edge singularity problems. The corresponding systems are nonextensive generalizations of their extensive counterparts. For that we employ tools from the recently introduced nonextensive statistical field theory. The results for the nonextensive critical exponents computed depend on the nonextensive parameter $q$, which encodes global correlations among the degrees of freedom of the system. The extensive result…
To understand the distribution of the Yang-Lee zeros in quantum integrable field theories we analyse the simplest of these systems given by the two-dimensional Yang-Lee model. The grand-canonical partition function of this quantum field theory, as a function of the fugacity z and the inverse temperature beta, can be computed in terms of the Thermodynamics Bethe Ansatz based on its exact S-matrix. We extract the Yang-Lee zeros in the complex plane by using a sequence of polynomials of increasing order N in z which converges to the grand-canonical partition function. We show that these zeros are…
At the Yang-Lee edge singularity, finite-size scaling behavior is used to measure the low-lying excitation spectrum of the Ising quantum spin chain for free boundary conditions. The measured spectrum is used to identify the CFT that describes the Yang-Lee edge singularity of the 2D Ising model for free boundary conditions.
We investigate the critical properties of the Lee-Yang model in less than six spacetime dimensions using truncations of the functional renormalization group flow. We give estimates for the critical exponents, study the dependence on the regularization scheme, and show the convergence of our results for increasing size of the truncations in four and five dimensions. While with our truncations it is numerically challenging to approach the three-dimensional case, we provide a simple approximation which allows us to qualitatively study the Lee-Yang model in two and three dimensions, and use it to …
We study analytically the logarithmic corrections to the critical exponents of the critical behavior of correlation length, susceptibility and specific heat for the temperature and the finite-size scaling behavior, for a generic $ϕ^3$ theory at its upper critical dimension (six). We have also computed the leading correction to scaling as a function of the lattice size. We distinguish the obtained formulas to the following special cases: percolation, Lee-Yang (LY) singularities and $m$-component spin glasses. We have compared our results for the Ising spin glass case with numerical simulations …
We use the method of `coupling to 2d QG' to study the analytic properties of the universal specific free energy of the O(n) loop model in complex magnetic field. We compute the specific free energy on a dynamical lattice using the correspondence with a matrix model. The free energy has a pair of Yang-Lee edges on the high-temperature sheet and a Langer type branch cut on the low-temperature sheet. Our result confirms a conjecture by A. and Al. Zamolodchikov about the decay rate of the metastable vacuum in presence of Liouville gravity and gives strong evidence about the existence of a weakly m…
The form factors of the descendant operators in the massive Lee-Yang model are determined up to level 7. This is first done by exploiting the conserved quantities of the integrable theory to generate the solutions for the descendants starting from the lowest non-trivial solutions in each operator family. We then show that the operator space generated in this way, which is isomorphic to the conformal one, coincides, level by level, with that implied by the $S$-matrix through the form factor bootstrap. The solutions we determine satisfy asymptotic conditions carrying the information about the le…
We discuss the relevance of the Lee-Yang edge singularity to the finite-temperature Z_2-symmetry restoration transition of the Gross-Neveu model in three dimensions. We present an explicit result for its large-N free energy density in terms of Zeta(3) and the absolute maximum of Clausen's function.
We present both analytic and numerical results on the position of the partition function zeros on the complex magnetic field plane of the $q=2$ (Ising) and $q=3$ states Potts model defined on $ϕ^3 $ Feynman diagrams (thin random graphs). Our analytic results are based on the ideas of destructive interference of coexisting phases and low temperature expansions. For the case of the Ising model an argument based on a symmetry of the saddle point equations leads us to a nonperturbative proof that the Yang-Lee zeros are located on the unit circle, although no circle theorem is known in this case of…
We obtain in a closed form the 1/N^2 contribution to the free energy of the two Hermitian N\times N random matrix model with non symmetric quartic potential. From this result, we calculate numerically the Yang-Lee zeros of the 2D Ising model on dynamical random graphs with the topology of a torus up to n=16 vertices. They are found to be located on the unit circle on the complex fugacity plane. In order to include contributions of even higher topologies we calculated analytically the nonperturbative (sum over all genus) partition function of the model Z_n = \sum_{h=0}^{\infty} \frac{Z_n^{(h)}}…
We show that, at the critical temperature, there is a class of Lee-Yang zeros of the partition function in a general scalar field theory, which location scales with the size of the system with a characteristic exponent expressed in terms of the isothermal critical exponent $δ$. In the thermodynamic limit the zeros belonging to this class condense to the critical point ζ=1 on the real axis in the complex fugacity plane while the complementary set of zeros (with Re ζ < 1) covers uniformly the unit circle. Although the aforementioned class degenerates to a single point for an infinite system, whe…
We introduce a new way of reconstructing the equation of state of a thermodynamic system near a second order critical point from a finite set of Taylor coefficients computed away from the critical point. We focus on the Ising universality class (${\mathbb Z}_2$ symmetry) and show that in the crossover region of the phase diagram it is possible to efficiently extract the location of the nearest thermodynamic singularity, the Lee-Yang edge singularity, from which one can (i) determine the location of the critical point, (ii) constrain the non-universal parameters that maps the equation of state …
The supersymmetric Lee-Yang model is arguably the simplest interacting supersymmetric field theory in two dimensions, albeit non-unitary. A natural question is if there is an analogue of supersymmetric Lee-Yang fixed point in higher dimensions. The absence of any $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry (except for fermion numbers) makes it impossible to approach it by using perturbative $ε$ expansions. We find that the truncated conformal bootstrap suggests that candidate fixed points obtained by the dimensional continuation from two dimensions annihilate below three dimensions, implying that there is no supe…
In this paper we examine the supersymmetric Lee-Yang model in the presence of boundaries. We determine the reflection factors for the Neveu-Schwarz type boundary conditions from the reduction of the supersymmetric sine-Gordon model and check them by using Boundary Truncated Conformal Space Approach in the massless case. We explore the boundary renormalisation groups flows using boundary TBA and TCSA.
We apply the method of graphical functions that was recently extended to six dimensions for scalar theories, to $ϕ^3$ theory and compute the $β$ function, the wave function anomalous dimension as well as the mass anomalous dimension in the $\overline{\mbox{MS}}$ scheme to five loops. From the results we derive the corresponding renormalization group functions for the Lee-Yang edge singularity problem and percolation theory. After determining the $\varepsilon$ expansions of the respective critical exponents to $\mathcal{O}(\varepsilon^5)$ we apply recent resummation technology to obtain improve…
The four-point perturbative contribution to the spherical partition function of the gravitational Yang-Lee model is evaluated numerically. An effective integration procedure is due to a convenient elliptic parameterization of the moduli space. At certain values of the ``spectator'' parameter the Liouville four-point function involves a number of ``discrete terms'' which have to be taken into account separately. The classical limit, where only discrete terms contribute, is also discussed. In addition, we conjecture an explicit expression for this partition function at the ``second solvable poin…
Correlation functions of the composite field $T\bar{T}$ in the scaling Lee--Yang model are studied. Using the analytic expression for form factors of this operator recently proposed by Delfino and Niccoli \cite{DN}, we show numerically that the constraints on the $T\bar{T}$ expectation values obtained in \cite{AZ_VEVTT} and the additional requirement of asymptotic behavior lead to a perfect agreement with the ultraviolet asymptotic predicted by the conformal perturbation theory.
We analyze the defect scaling Lee-Yang model from the perturbed defect conformal field theory (DCFT) point of view. First the defect Lee-Yang model is solved by calculating its structure constants from the sewing relations. Integrable defect perturbations are identified in conformal defect perturbation theory. Then pure defect flows connecting integrable conformal defects are described. We develop a defect truncated conformal space approach (DTCSA) to analyze the one parameter family of integrable massive perturbations in finite volume numerically. Fusing the integrable defect to an integrable…
We determine the scaling properties of the Yang-Lee edge singularity as described by a one-component scalar field theory with imaginary cubic coupling, using the nonperturbative functional renormalization group in $3 \leq d\leq 6$ Euclidean dimensions. We find very good agreement with high-temperature series data in $d = 3$ dimensions and compare our results to recent estimates of critical exponents obtained with the four-loop $ε= 6-d$ expansion and the conformal bootstrap. The relevance of operator insertions at the corresponding fixed point of the RG $β$ functions is discussed and we estimat…
We study the Borel-Padé resummation of the asymptotic series for the string equation of the Lee-Yang edge singularity. Numerical methods are provided to compute a high accuracy exact solution. We find the resummation matches the numerical integration without need for further non-perturbative corrections.
We provide explicit expressions for boundary form factors in the boundary scaling Lee-Yang model for operators with the mildest ultraviolet behavior for all integrable boundary conditions. The form factors of the boundary stress tensor take a determinant form, while the form factors of the boundary primary field contain additional explicit polynomials.
We present the open KdV hierarchy of 2d minimal gravity of Lee-Yang series which uses the boundary cosmological constant as a flow parameter. The boundary cosmological constant is a conjugate variable to the boundary flow parameter used in the open KdV hierarchy of the intersection numbers on the moduli space of Riemann surfaces with boundaries. The two generating functions are related through the Laplace transform.
Within Yang-Mills gravity with translation group $T(4)$ in flat space-time, the invariant action involving quadratic translation gauge-curvature leads to quadrupole radiations which are shown to be consistent with experiments. The radiation power turns out to be the same as that in Einstein's gravity to the second-order approximation. We also discuss an interesting physical reason for the accelerated cosmic expansion based on the long-range Lee-Yang force of $U_{b}(1)$ gauge field associated with the established conservation law of baryon number. We show that the Lee-Yang force can be related …
The Yang-Lee edge singularity is investigated by the determinant method of the conformal field theory. The critical dimension Dc, for which the scale dimension of scalar Delta_phi is vanishing, is discussed by this determinant method. The result is incorporated in the Pade analysis of epsilon expansion, which leads to an estimation of the value Delta_phi between three and six dimensions. The structure of the minors is viewed from the fixed points.
Motivated by the search for the QCD critical point, we discuss how to obtain the singular behavior of a thermodynamic system near a critical point, namely the Lee-Yang singularities, from a limited amount of local data generated in a different region of the phase diagram. We show that by using a limited number of Taylor series coefficients, it is possible to reconstruct the equation of state past the radius of convergence, in particular in the critical region. Furthermore we also show that it is possible to extend this reconstruction to go from a crossover region to the first-order transition …
We use the effective potential method to study the $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetry breaking of the non-Hermitian $iϕ^{3}$ field theory in $6-ε$ space-time dimensions. The critical exponents so obtained coincide with the exact values listed in the literature. We showed that at the point of $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetry breaking, the vacuum-vacuum amplitude is certainly zero and the fugacity is one which mimics a Yang-Lee edge singularity in magnetic systems. What makes this work interesting is that it takes into account problems which are always overlooked in the literature for the Yang-Lee model like stabil…
The one-channel Wigner-Weisskopf survival amplitude may be dominated by exponential type decay in pole approximation at times not too short or too long, but, in the two channel case, for example, the pole residues are not orthogonal, and the pole approximation evolution does not correspond to a semigroup (experiments on the decay of the neutral K-meson system support the semigroup evolution postulated by Lee, Oehme and Yang, and Yang and Wu, to very high accuracy). The scattering theory of Lax and Phillips, originally developed for classical wave equations, has been recently extended to the de…
Some general properties of perturbed (rational) CFT in the background metric of symmetric 2D sphere of radius $R$ are discussed, including conformal perturbation theory for the partition function and the large $R$ asymptotic. The truncated conformal space scheme is adopted to treat numerically perturbed rational CFT's in the spherical background. Numerical results obtained for the scaling Lee-Yang model lead to the conclusion that the partition function is an entire function of the coupling constant. Exploiting this analytic structure we are able to describe rather precisely the ``experimental…
We prove the analyticity of the finite volume QCD partition function for complex values of the theta-vacuum parameter. The absence of singularities different from Lee-Yang zeros only permits ^ cusp singularities in the vacuum energy density and never v cusps. This fact together with the Vafa-Witten diamagnetic inequality implies the vanishing of the density of Lee-Yang zeros at theta=0 and has an important consequence: the absence of a first order phase transition at theta=0. The result provides a key missing link in the Vafa-Witten proof of parity symmetry conservation in vector-like gauge th…
We study Ising Field Theory (the scaling limit of Ising model near the Curie critical point) in pure imaginary external magnetic field. We put particular emphasis on the detailed structure of the Yang-Lee edge singularity. While the leading singular behavior is controlled by the Yang-Lee fixed point ($=$ minimal CFT ${\cal M}_{2/5}$), the fine structure of the subleading singular terms is determined by the effective action which involves a tower of irrelevant operators. We use numerical data obtained through the "Truncated Free Fermion Space Approach" to estimate the couplings associated with …
We consider the scaling Lee-Yang model. It corresponds to the unique perturbation of the minimal CFT model M(2,5). This is not a unitary model. We used known expression for form factors in order to obtain a closed expression for a correlation function of a trace of energy-momentum tensor. This expression is a determinant of an integral operator. Similar determinant representation were proven to be useful not only for quantum correlation functions but also in matrix models.
We define the scaling supersymmetric Yang-Lee model with boundary as the (1,3) perturbation of the superconformal minimal model SM(2/8) (or equivalently, the (1,5) perturbation of the conformal minimal model M(3/8)) with a certain conformal boundary condition. We propose the corresponding boundary S matrix, which is not diagonal for general values of the boundary parameter. We argue that the model has an integral of motion corresponding to an unbroken supersymmetry, and that the proposed S matrix commutes with a similar quantity. We also show by means of a boundary TBA analysis that the propos…
The recently introduced SLE growth processes are based on conformal maps from an open and simply-connected subset of the upper half-plane to the half-plane itself. We generalize this by considering a hierarchy of stochastic evolutions mapping open and simply-connected subsets of smaller and smaller fractions of the upper half-plane to these fractions themselves. The evolutions are all driven by one-dimensional Brownian motion. Ordinary SLE appears at grade one in the hierarchy. At grade two we find a direct correspondence to conformal field theory through the explicit construction of a level-f…
