We investigate the capability of the \textit{Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope's (Roman)} Wide-Field Instrument (WFI) G150 slitless grism to detect red, quiescent galaxies based on the current reference survey. We simulate dispersed images for \textit{Roman} reference High-Latitude Spectroscopic Survey (HLSS) and analyze two-dimensional spectroscopic data using the grism Redshift and Line Analysis (\verb|Grizli|) software. This study focus on assessing \textit{Roman} grism's capability for continuum-level redshift measurement for a redshift range of $0.5 \leq z \leq 2.5$. The redshift recovery is assessed by setting three requirements of: $σ_z = \frac{\left|z-z_{\mathrm{true}}\right|}{1+z}\leq0.01$, signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) $\geq 5$ and the presence of a single dominant peak in redshift likelihood function. We find that, for quiescent galxaies, the reference HLSS can reach a redshift recovery completeness of $\geq50\%$ for F158 magnitude brighter than 20.2 mag. We also explore how different survey parameters, such as exposure time and the number of exposures, influence the accuracy and completeness of redshift recovery, providing insights that could optimize future survey strategies and enhance the scientific yield of the \textit{Roman} in cosmological research.

We simulate the emission line galaxy properties for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope by creating a 4 deg$^{2}$ galaxy mock catalog using Galacticus, a semi-analytic model (SAM) for galaxy formation and evolution. The simulated galaxy properties include emission line luminosity, equivalent width (EW), broad band photometry, and spectral energy distribution (SED). We compare this mock catalog with the latest observational data from WISP and MOSDEF. We find that our Galacticus model makes predictions consistent with observational data, over a wide redshift range for multiple emission lines. …
This note presents an initial survey design for the Nancy Grace Roman High-latitude Time Domain Survey. This is not meant to be a final or exhaustive list of all the survey strategy choices, but instead presents a viable path towards achieving the desired precision and accuracy of dark energy measurements using Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia). We describe a survey strategy that use six filters (RZYJH and F) and the prism on the Roman Wide Field Instrument. This survey has two tiers, one "wide" which targets SNe Ia at redshifts up to 1 and one "deep" targeting redshifts up to 1.7; for each, four fi…
We present results from simulating slitless spectroscopic observations with the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope's (Roman) Wide-Field Instrument (WFI) P127 prism spanning 0.75 $μm$ to 1.8 $μm$. We quantify the efficiency of recovered Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) redshifts, as a function of P127 prism exposure time, to guide planning for future observing programs with the Roman prism. Generating the two-dimensional dispersed images and extracting one-dimensional spectra is done with the slitless spectroscopy package pyLINEAR along with custom-written software. From the analysis of 1698 simulate…

We performed a systematic 6.7 GHz Class \uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral2} methanol maser survey using the Shanghai Tianma Radio Telescope toward targets selected from the all-sky \emph{Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE)} point catalog. In this paper, we report the results from the survey of those at high Galactic latitudes, i.e. $|b|>$ 2$^\circ$. Of 1473 selected \emph{WISE} point sources at high latitude, 17 point positions that were actually associated with 12 sources were detected with maser emission, reflecting the rarity (1$-$2\%) of methanol masers in the region away from th…
We study the \textit{Roman} sensitivity to exoplanets in the Habitable Zone (HZ). The \textit{Roman}~efficiency for detecting habitable planets is maximized for three classes of planetary microlensing events with close caustic topologies. (a) The events with the lens distances of $D_{\rm l} \gtrsim 7$ kpc, the host lens masses of $M_{\rm h}\gtrsim 0.6M_{\odot}$. By assuming Jupiter-mass planets in the HZs, these events have $q\lesssim 0.001$ and $d\gtrsim 0.17$ ($q$ is their mass ratio and $d$ is the projected planet-host distance on the sky plane normalized to the Einstein radius). The events…

Euclid and the Roman Space Telescope (Roman) will soon use grism spectroscopy to detect millions of galaxies via H$α$ and [O III] $λ5007$ emission. To better constrain the expected galaxy counts from these instruments, we use a vetted sample of 4,239 emission-line galaxies from the 3D-HST survey to measure the H$α$ and [O III] $λ5007$ luminosity functions between $1.16<z<1.90$; this sample is $\sim 4$ times larger than previous studies at this redshift. We find very good agreement with previous measurements for H$α$, but for [O III], we predict a higher number of intermediate-luminosity galaxi…
