We discuss recent higher order calculations to properties of $B$ mesons. This includes next-to-next-to-leading order corrections to nonleptonic and next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order corrections to semileptonic $B$ meson decays. The latter is important in connection to the determination of the CKM matrix element $V_{cb}$. We also discuss next-to-next-to-leading order corrections to the width difference in the neutral $B$ meson system.
We present the new Coherent Exclusive Exponentiation (CEEX), in comparison to the older Exclusive Exponentiation (EEX) and the semi-analytical Inclusive Exponentiation (IEX), for the process e+e- -> f-bar f + n(gamma), f=mu,tau,d,u,s,c,b, with validity for centre of mass energies from tau lepton threshold to 1 TeV. We analyse 2f numerical results at the Z-peak, 189 GeV and 500 GeV. We also present precision calculations of the signal processes e+e- -> 4f in which the double resonant W+W- intermediate state occurs using our YFSWW3-1.14 MC. Sample 4f Monte Carlo data are explicitly illustrated i…
In this paper we are going to review the status of the computations of the perturbative quantum corrections to the Higgs boson mass in the Standard Model and in its supersymmetric extensions. In particular, supersymmetric theories require a very accurate computation of the Higgs boson mass, which includes corrections up to even three-loop level, since their predictions are limited by theoretical uncertainties. A discussion about these uncertainties in the context of the minimal and next to minimal supersymmetric standard models is included.
We present an overview of the status and recent developments of FeynHiggs (current version: 2.14.3) since version 2.12.2. The main purpose of FeynHiggs is the calculation of the Higgs-boson masses and other physical observables in the MSSM. For a precise prediction of the Higgs-boson masses for low and high SUSY scales, state-of-the-art fixed-order and effective-field-theory calculations are combined. We first discuss improvements of the fixed-order calculation, namely an optional $\overline{\text{DR}}$ renormalization of the stop sector and a renormalization of the Higgs sector ensuring the c…
We have evaluated with 1100 digits of precision the contribution of all the 891 mass-independent four-loop Feynman diagrams contributing to the slope of the Dirac form factor in QED. The total 4-loop contribution is $ m^2 F_1^{(4)'}(0) = 0.886545673946443145836821730610315359390424032660064745... \left(\fracαπ\right)^4$. We have fit a semi-analytical expression to the numerical value. The expression contains harmonic polylogarithms of argument $e^{\frac{iπ}{3}}$, $e^{\frac{2iπ}{3}}$, $e^{\frac{iπ}{2}}$, one-dimensional integrals of products of complete elliptic integrals and six finite parts o…
Detailed and precise background predictions are the backbone of large parts of high-energy collider phenomenology. This requires to embed precision QCD calculations into detailed event generators, to produce comprehensive software simulations. Only continued progress in this direction will allow us to exploit the full potential of measurements at the Large Hadron Collider, or at a future Electron-Ion Collider. This work presents a method to combine third-order QCD calculations for hadronic scattering processes with Monte-Carlo event generators, thus enabling a new generation of precision predi…
The precision frontier in collider physics is being pushed at impressive speed, from both the experimental and the theoretical side. The aim of this review is to give an overview of recent developments in precision calculations within the Standard Model of particle physics, in particular in the Higgs sector. While the first part focuses on phenomenological results, the second part reviews some of the techniques which allowed the rapid progress in the field of precision calculations. The focus is on analytic and semi-numerical techniques for multi-loop amplitudes, however fully numerical method…
We present a high-precision calculation of the recoil--finite-size correction to the hyperfine splitting (HFS) in muonic and electronic hydrogen based on nucleon electromagnetic form factors obtained from dispersion theory. This will help guide the upcoming searches of the HFS transition in muonic hydrogen, and will allow a precise determination of the polarizability and Zemach radius contributions when this transition is found.
IR-improvement based on amplitude-level resummation allows one to control unintegrable results in quantum field theory with arbitrary precision in principle. We illustrate such resummation in specific examples in precision LHC and FCC physics and in quantum gravity.
