We provide a detailed account of the methods and calculations for the third-order corrections to the S-wave Green function from heavy-quark potentials other than the Coulomb potential. The results of this paper are relevant to the top-antitop threshold production process in next-to-next-to-next-to-leading (NNNLO) order and to the determination of the bottom-quark mass from high-moment sum rules, and have been employed in corresponding previous publications. Further to the third-order calculation, we discuss in detail three refinements necessary to obtain reliable third-order results for the top threshold: finite-width effects, pole resummation, and the implementation of the potential-subtracted mass scheme. A detailed numerical analysis of residual scale dependence and the size of various contributions to the top production cross section is provided. The S-wave energy levels and wave functions at the origin for heavy quarkonium states of arbitrary principal quantum number $n$ are collected in an appendix.
P-wave contribution to third-order top-quark pair production near threshold
We study the threshold effect for neutral and charged Drell-Yan productions, associated production of Higgs boson with a massive vector boson and Higgs production in bottom quark annihilation at LHC to the third order in QCD. Using the third order soft-virtual results for these processes and exploiting the universality of the threshold logarithms, we extract the process-dependent coefficients for these processes and resum large threshold logarithms to next-to-next-to-next-to leading logarithmic (N$^3$LL) accuracy. By matching our results to the recently available N$^3$LO results, we provide th…
We determine the NNLO electroweak correction to the $e^+ e^-\to b\bar{b}W^+W^- X$ production cross section near the top-pair production threshold. The calculation includes non-resonant production of the final state as well as electroweak effects in resonant top anti-top pair production with non-relativistic resummation, and elevates the theoretical prediction to NNNLO QCD plus NNLO electroweak accuracy. We then study the impact of the new contributions on the top-pair threshold scan at a future lepton collider.

I discuss single top quark production at the Tevatron and the LHC. The cross section, including soft-gluon threshold corrections through NNNLO, is presented for each partonic channel. The higher-order corrections provide significant contributions to the single top cross sections at both colliders.
We present a calculation of the NLO QCD corrections to the loop-induced production of a photon pair through gluon fusion, including massive top quarks at two loops, where the two-loop integrals are calculated numerically. Matching the fixed-order NLO results to a threshold expansion, we obtain accurate results around the top quark pair production threshold. We analyse how the top quark threshold corrections affect distributions of the photon pair invariant mass and comment on the possibility of determining the top quark mass from precision measurements of the diphoton invariant mass spectrum.
In this article, we have studied threshold effects on rapidity distributions of massive gauge bosons ($Z, W^{\pm}$) in the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider. By exploiting the universal behavior of soft gluon emissions in the threshold region, we resum the large threshold logarithms arising in the rapidity distribution at next-to-next-to leading logarithmic accuracy and match them to next-to-next-to leading order in QCD. We adapt the double Mellin approach to resum both threshold variables corresponding to partonic threshold and rapidity consistently within the standard QCD framework…
The threshold scan at future lepton colliders is the most precise known method to determine the top quark mass (well below 100 MeV), a fundamental parameter of the Standard Model that co-determines the stability properties of the electroweak vacuum. We present a new method to match the continuum next-to-leading order QCD corrections with the next-to-leading logarithmic resummation of the Coulomb singularities of the quasi-toponium bound state at threshold where fixed-order perturbation theory is invalid. This matching is performed at the level of the fully exclusive $W^+bW^-\bar{b}$ final stat…
We review exclusive top pair production including decays at a future high-energy lepton collider, both in the threshold region and for higher energies. For the continuum process, we take complete QCD next-to-leading order matrix elements for the $2\to 6$ process with leptonic W decays into account. At threshold, we match the fixed-order relativistic QCD-NLO cross section to a nonrelativistic cross section with next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) threshold resummation implemented via a form factor.
We compute the top quark threshold contributions to the $γγ$ production at the LHC. They appear when the invariant mass of the photon pair, $M_{γγ}$ just exceeds two times the mass of the top quark and induce some feature in the $M_{γγ}$ distribution. We determine the magnitude of this threshold effect and characterize this feature with a simple empirical fitting function to show that it is possible to observe this effect at the LHC in future. We also explore some possible improvements that may enhance its significance.
