Almost symmetric numerical semigroups with odd generators

We study almost symmetric semigroups generated by odd integers. If the embedding dimension is four, we characterize when a symmetric semigroup that is not complete intersection or a pseudo-symmetric semigroup is generated by odd integers. Moreover, we give a way to construct all the almost symmetric semigroups with embedding dimension four and type three generated by odd elements. In this case we also prove that all the pseudo-Frobenius numbers are multiple of one of them and this gives many consequences on the semigroup and its defining ideal.

The numerical duplication of a numerical semigroup

In this paper we present and study the numerical duplication of a numerical semigroup, a construction that, starting with a numerical semigroup $S$ and a semigroup ideal $E\subseteq S$, produces a new numerical semigroup, denoted by $S\Join^b\E$ (where $b$ is any odd integer belonging to $S$), such that $S=(S\Join^b\E)/2$. In particular, we characterize the ideals $E$ such that $S\Join^bE$ is almost symmetric and we determine its type.

Duality Relation for the Hilbert Series of Almost Symmetric Numerical Semigroups

We derive the duality relation for the Hilbert series H(d^m;z) of almost symmetric numerical semigroup S(d^m) combining it with its dual H(d^m;z^{-1}). On this basis we establish the bijection between the multiset of degrees of the syzygy terms and the multiset of the gaps F_j, generators d_i and their linear combinations. We present the relations for the sums of the Betti numbers of even and odd indices separately. Tangent cones of monomial curves obtained by numerical duplication

Given a numerical semigroup ring $R=k[\![S]\!]$, an ideal $E$ of $S$ and an odd element $b \in S$, the numerical duplication $S \! \Join^b \! E$ is a numerical semigroup, whose associated ring $k[\![S \! \Join^b \! E]\!]$ shares many properties with the Nagata's idealization and the amalgamated duplication of $R$ along the monomial ideal $I=(t^e \mid e\in E)$. One half of almost symmetric numerical semigroups

Let $S,T$ be two numerical semigroups. We study when $S$ is one half of $T$, with $T$ almost symmetric. If we assume that the type of $T$, $t(T)$, is odd, then for any $S$ there exist infinitely many such $T$ and we prove that $1 \leq t(T) \leq 2t(S)+1$. On the other hand, if $t(T)$ is even, there exists such $T$ if and only if $S$ is almost symmetric and different from $\mathbb{N}$; in this case the type of $S$ is the number of even pseudo-Frobenius numbers of $T$. Moreover, we construct these families of semigroups using the numerical duplication with respect to a relative ideal.
