Klein-Gordon oscillators in traversable wormhole rainbow gravity spacetime: Conditional exact solvability via a throat radius and oscillator frequency correlation
In this study, we discuss an analytical solution for a set of the Klein-Gordon (KG) oscillators' energies through a correlation between the frequency of the KG-oscillators and the traversable wormhole (TWH) throat radius. Under such restricted parametric correlation (hence the notion of conditionally exact solvability is unavoidable in the process), we report the effects of throat radius, rainbow parameter, disclination parameter, and oscillator frequency on the spectroscopic structure of a vast number of $\left( n,m\right) $-states (the radial and magnetic quantum numbers, respectively). In the process, we only use two loop quantum gravity motivated rainbow functions pairs. The only rainbow functions that clearly and reliably fully adhere to the rainbow gravity model and secure Planck energy $E_p$ as the maximum possible energy for particles and anti-particles alike. Near the asymptotically flat upper and lower universes connected by the TWH, i.e., for the throat radius $r_{0 }>>1 $, the energies tend to cluster around the rest mass energies, i.e., $|E_{\pm }|\sim m_{0 }$. Whereas, for $r_{0 }<<1$ the energies tend to approach $|E_{\pm }| \leq E_{P}$.
We consider the effects of Gravity's Rainbow on the self-sustained equation which is responsible to find new traversable wormholes configurations powered by their own gravitational quantum fluctuations. The form of the shape function considered is obtained by imposing the equation of state $p_{r}=ωρ$. We investigate the size of the wormhole as a function of the parameter $ω$ in the phantom region. We discover that a wormhole which is traversable in principle, but not in practice, can be produced.
The present paper is intended for studying the effect of strong gravitational lensing in the context of charged wormhole. To study this effect, the conditions determining the existence of photon spheres at and outside the throat are obtained. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of photon spheres at or outside the throat of the charged wormhole is derived. Furthermore, photon spheres are investigated in three cases for three different forms of redshift function. These three cases include the existence of effective photon spheres (i) at the throat, (ii) outside the throat a…

We compare the effects of Noncommutative Geometry and Gravity's Rainbow on traversable wormholes which are sustained by their own gravitational quantum fluctuations. Fixing the geometry on a well tested model, we find that the final result shows that the wormhole is of the Planckian size. This means that the traversability of the wormhole is in principle, but not in practice.
Traversable wormholes have traditionally been viewed as intrinsically topological entities in some multiply connected spacetime. Here, we show that topology is too limited a tool to accurately characterize a generic traversable wormhole: in general one needs geometric information to detect the presence of a wormhole, or more precisely to locate the wormhole throat. For an arbitrary static spacetime we shall define the wormhole throat in terms of a 2-dimensional constant-time hypersurface of minimal area. (Zero trace for the extrinsic curvature plus a "flare-out" condition.) This enables us to …
The general form of a stationary, axially symmetric traversable wormhole is discussed. This provides an explicit class of rotating wormholes that generalize the static, spherically symmetric ones first considered by Morris and Thorne. In agreement with general analyses, it is verified that such a wormhole generically violates the null energy condition at the throat. However, for suitable model wormholes, there can be classes of geodesics falling through it which do not encounter any energy-condition-violating matter. The possible presence of an ergoregion surrounding the throat is also noted.
Wormholes and black holes have traditionally been treated a quite separate objects with relatively little overlap. The possibility of a connection arises in that wormholes, if they exist, might have profound influence on black holes, their event horizons, and their internal structure. After discussing some connections, we embark on an overview of what can generally be said about traversable wormhole throats. We discuss the violations of the energy conditions that typically occur at and near the throat of any traversable wormhole and emphasize the generic nature of this result. We discuss the o…
We consider the effects of Gravity's Rainbow on the self-sustained equation which is responsible to find new traversable wormholes configurations which are sustained by their own gravitational quantum fluctuations. The same self-sustained equation is also used to discover if topology change is possible. In this contribution, we will show that in both uses, the self-sustained equation will produce a Wheeler wormhole, namely a wormhole of Planckian size. This means that, from the point of view of traversability, the wormhole will be traversable in principle, but not in practice. From the topolog…
We revisit the shapes of the throats of wormholes, including thin-shell wormholes (TSWs) in $2+1-$dimensions. In particular, in the case of TSWs this is done in a flat $2+1-$dimensional bulk spacetime by using the standard method of cut-and-paste. Upon departing from a pure time-dependent circular shape i.e., $r=a\left( t\right) $ for the throat, we employ a $% θ-$dependent closed loop of the form $r=R\left( t,θ\right) ,$ and in terms of $R\left( t,θ\right) $ we find the surface energy density $σ$ on the throat. For the specific convex shapes we find that the total energy which supports the wo…
Recent studies have shown that (a) quantum effects may be sufficient to support a wormhole throat and (b) the total amount of "exotic matter" can be made arbitrarily small. Unfortunately, using only small amounts of exotic matter may result in a wormhole that flares out too slowly to be traversable in a reasonable length of time. Combined with the Ford-Roman constraints, the wormhole may also come close to having an event horizon at the throat. This paper examines a model that overcomes these difficulties, while satisfying the usual traversability conditions. This model also confirms that the …
In the letter titled ''Traversable Wormholes in General Relativity'' [Phys. Rev. Lett. 128, 091104 (2022)], R. A. Konoplya and A. Zhidenko have constructed an asymmetric wormhole solution, which is not symmetric about the throat and is compounded from smooth gravitational and charged Dirac fields. However, the authors have claimed that a physically relevant condition on the throat is imposed to lead to no gravitational force experienced by a stationary observer at the throat. In this comment, we point out that the above condition is unnecessary.
It was argued in literature that traversable wormholes can exist with arbitrarily small violation of null energy conditions. We show that if the amount of exotic material near the wormhole throat tends to zero, either this leads to a horn instead of a wormhole or the throat approaches the horizon in such a way that infnitely large stresses develop on the throat.
In this work, the study of traversable wormholes in $f(R)$-massive gravity with the function $f(R)=R+α_{1} R^{n}$, where $α_{1}$ and $n$ are arbitrary constants, is considered. We choose the modified shape function $b(r)$. We consider a spherically symmetric and static wormhole metric and derive field equations. Moreover, we visualize the wormhole geometry using embedding diagrams. Furthermore, we check the null, weak, dominant and strong energy conditions at the wormhole throat with a radius $r_{0}$ invoking three types of redshift functions, $Φ={\rm constant},γ_{1}/r,\,\log(1+γ_{2}/r)$ with …
In this paper, we obtain new $d$-dimensional and asymptotically flat wormhole solutions by assuming a specific form of the energy density distribution. This is addressed by considering the generalization of the so-called Dymnikova model, originally studied in the context of regular black holes. In this way, we find constraints for the involved parameters, namely, the throat radius, the scale associated to the matter distribution, and the spacetime dimension, to build those wormholes. Following, we study the properties of the obtained solutions, namely, embedding diagrams as well as Weak and Nu…
In [J. Blazquez-Salcedo, C. Knoll, E. Radu, Phys. Rev. Lett. 126 (2021) no.10, 101102] asymptotically flat traversable wormhole solutions were obtained in the Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell theory without using phantom matter. The normalizable numerical solutions found therein require a peculiar behavior at the throat: the mirror symmetry relatively the throat leads to the nonsmoothness of gravitational and matter fields. In particular, one must postulate changing of the sign of the fermionic charge density at the throat, requiring coexistence of particle and antiparticles without annihilation and pos…
In this work, we explore the connection between Casimir energy and an Absurdly Benign Traversable Wormhole, which in the literature has been considered only in the pioneering paper of Morris and Thorne. To have consistency with the Casimir source, we need to generalize the idea of an Absurdly Benign Traversable Wormhole into a Generalized Absurdly Benign Traversable Wormhole. With this generalization, we have found that the wormhole throat is not more Planckian, but huge. Three profiles have been studied: one of them is directly connected with the Casimir source, while the other two have been …
In this work we wonder if there is a way to generate a wormhole (WH) in nature using "normal" matter. In order to give a first answer to this question, we study a massless scalar field coupled to an electromagnetic one (dilatonic field) with an arbitrary coupling constant, as source of gravitation. We obtain an exact solution of the Einstein equations using this source that represents a magnetized rotating WH. This space-time has a naked ring singularity, probably untouchable as in \cite{Matos:2012gj}, but otherwise regular. The WH throat lies on the disc bounded by the ring singularity, which…
Recently, a novel model for a regular black hole was advocated which possesses an asymptotically Minkowski core implemented via an exponential suppression (in the core region) of the Misner-Sharp quasi-local mass. Using this regular black hole as a template, we shall construct a spherically symmetric thin-shell traversable wormhole using the "cut-and-paste" technique, thereby constructing yet another black hole mimicker. The surface stress-energy at the wormhole throat is calculated, and the stability of the wormhole is analyzed. An important result is that, (as compared to their Schwarzschild…
We study the linear polarization from the accretion disk around a class of static traversable wormholes. Applying the simplified model of a magnetized fluid ring orbiting in the equatorial plane, we search for characteristic signatures, which could distinguish wormhole from black hole spacetimes by their polarization properties. For the purpose we analyse the direct polarized images for different inclination angles, the strongly lensed indirect images, and the polarized radiation which reaches the asymptotic observer through the wormhole throat, and compare to the Schwarzschild black hole. For…
We revisit the shadow of rotating traversable wormholes discussing the role of the wormhole throat in the shadow formation. For certain classes of wormholes the throat serves as a potential barrier for light rays with particular impact parameters, thus modifying the shadow shape. We consider a couple of wormhole solutions and examine the structure of their shadow images, and the intrinsic mechanisms for their formation. Some of the shadows possess cuspy edges, which arise due to the interplay of two distinct families of unstable spherical orbits. These solutions provide examples, in which the …
We consider the effects of Distorted Gravity on the traversability of the wormholes. In particular, we consider configurations which are sustained by their own gravitational quantum fluctuations. The Ultra-Violet divergences appearing to one loop are taken under control with the help of a Noncommutative geometry representation and Gravity's Rainbow. In this context, it will be shown that for every framework, the self-sustained equation will produce a Wheeler wormhole, namely a wormhole of Planckian size. This means that, from the point of view of traversability, the wormhole will be traversabl…
Based on the recently introduced black-bounce spacetimes, we shall consider the construction of the related spherically symmetric thin-shell traversable wormholes within the context of standard general relativity. All of the really unusual physics is encoded in one simple parameter $a$ which characterizes the scale of the bounce. Keeping the discussion as close as possible to standard general relativity is the theorist's version of only adjusting one feature of the model at a time. We shall modify the standard thin-shell traversable wormhole construction, each bulk region now being a black-bou…
The Brouwer fixed-point theorem in topology states that for any continuous mapping $f$ on a compact convex set into itself admits a fixed point, i.e., a point $x_0$ such that $f(x_0)=x_0$. Under certain conditions, this fixed point corresponds to the throat of a traversable wormhole, i.e., $b(r_0)=r_0$ for the shape function $b=b(r)$. The possible existence of wormholes can therefore be deduced from purely mathematical considerations without going beyond the existing physical requirements.
In this paper, we investigate the effect of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) in the Casimir wormhole spacetime recently proposed by Garattini [Eur. Phys. J. C (2019) 79: 951]. In particular, we consider three types of the GUP relations, firstly the Kempf, Mangano and Mann (KMM) model, secondly the Detournay, Gabriel and Spindel (DGS) model, and finally the so called type II model for GUP principle. To this end, we consider three specific models of the redshift function along with two different EoS of state given by $\mathcal{P}_r(r)=ω_r(r) ρ(r)$ along with $\mathcal{P}_t(r)=ω_t (r)\…
In this paper, we aim to investigate various physical properties and characteristics of radiation emerging from the surface of accretion disks, in a rotating traversable axially symmetric wormhole spacetime of the Teo class. We have studied the marginally stable orbits and accretion efficiency graphically, corresponding to different values of dimensionless spin parameter $J/M^2$ ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 and some values of the throat radius $r_0$, in comparison to the Kerr black hole with the same parameter values, and also tabulated the results. The energy flux radiated by the accretion disk $F…
In this paper, we investigate new exact and analytic solutions of the Einstein Maxwell field equations describing Casimir wormholes with and without the effect of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP). We consider a specific type of the GUP relations and study three specific models of the redshift function along with two different EoS of state. Here we obtain a class of asymptotically flat Casimir wormhole solutions with and without GUP corrections under the effect of electric charge. Furthermore we check the null, weak, strong and dominant energy conditions at the wormhole throat of rad…
In this talk I discuss pertinence of the wormholes to the problem of circumventing the light speed barrier and present a specific class of wormholes. The wormholes of this class are static and have arbitrarily wide throats, which makes them traversable. The matter necessary for these spacetimes to be solutions of the Einstein equations is shown to consist of two components, one of which satisfies the Weak energy condition and the other is produced by vacuum fluctuations of neutrino, electromagnetic (in dimensional regularization), and/or massless scalar (conformally coupled) fields.

In this paper we show that, analogously to as it occurs for black holes, there exist three well-defined laws for Lorentzian wormhole thermodynamics and that these laws are related with a thermal phantom-like radiation process coming from the wormhole throat. It is argued that the existence of wormholes could be manifested by means such a radiation. These results are obtained by analyzing the Hayward formalism of spherically symmetric solutions containing trapping horizons, the phenomenon of phantom accretion onto wormholes and the development of phantom thermodynamics.
In this paper we study traversable wormholes in the context of $f(R)$ gravity. Exact solutions of traversable wormholes are found by imposing the nonconstant Ricci scalar. These solutions asymptotically match spherical, flat and hyperbolic FRW metric. By choosing some static $f(R)$ gravity models, we verify the standard energy conditions for the asymptotically spherical, flat and hyperbolic wormhole solutions. Unlike the Einstein gravity, we find that in the context of $f(R)$ modified gravity, the asymptotically spherical, flat and hyperbolic wormhole solutions can respect the null energy cond…
We present a static and axisymmetric traversable wormhole spacetime with vanishing Arnowitt-Deser-Misner (ADM) mass which is characterized by a length parameter $l$ and a deformation parameter $a$ and reduces to the massless Kerr vacuum wormhole as $l\to 0$. The spacetime is analytic everywhere and regularizes a ring-like conical singularity of the massless Kerr wormhole by virtue of a localized exotic matter which violates the standard energy conditions only near the wormhole throat. In the spherically symmetric case ($a=0$), the areal radius of the wormhole throat is exactly $l$ and all the …
In this paper I present a new class of traversable wormholes. This is done by surgically grafting two Schwarzschild spacetimes together in such a way that no event horizon is permitted to form. This surgery concentrates a non--zero stress--energy on the boundary layer between the two asymptotically flat regions. I shall investigate this stress--energy in detail using the "junction condition" formalism. A feature of the present analysis is that this class of traversable wormholes is sufficiently simple for a (partial) dynamical stability analysis to be carried out. The stability analysis places…
We consider the possibility that wormhole geometries are sustained by their own quantum fluctuations, in the context of noncommutative geometry and Gravity's Rainbow models. More specifically, the energy density of the graviton one-loop contribution to a classical energy in a wormhole background is considered as a self-consistent source for wormholes. In this semi-classical context, we consider the effects of a smeared particle-like source in noncommutative geometry and of the Rainbow's functions in sustaining wormhole geometries.
