We investigate $T\bar{T}$ deformation on non-Hermitian coupled Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model and the holographic picture. The relationship between ground state and thermofield double state is preserved under the $T\bar{T}$ deformation. We prove that $T\bar{T}$ deformed theory provides a reparameterization in large $N$ limit. These deformation effects is calculated numerically with green functions and free energy. The thermodynamic phase structures show the equivalence of the wormhole-black hole picture between non-Hermitian model and Hermitian model still holds under $T\bar{T}$ deformation. We also study the correlation function in Lorentz time and revival dynamic.
We show that a non-Hermitian two coupled Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model can provide thermodynamic structure equivalent to Hermitian two coupled SYK model. The energy spectrum, the entanglement degree of the ground states and the low energy effective action of this model are not influenced by the non-Hermiticity. The novel biorthogonal ground states demonstrates that two SYK sites, one of which can be in the ground state and the other in the Schwarzian excited state by tuning the non-Hermiticity. We find evidence that the free energy is independent of the non-Hermiticity.
Recently, the steady states of non-unitary free fermion dynamics are found to exhibit novel critical phases with power-law squared correlations and a logarithmic subsystem entanglement. In this work, we theoretically understand the underlying physics by constructing solvable static/Brownian quadratic Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev chains with non-Hermitian dynamics. We find the action of the replicated system generally shows (one or infinite copies of) ${O(2)\times O(2)}$ symmetries, which is broken to ${O(2)}$ by the saddle-point solution. This leads to an emergent conformal field theory of the Goldstone …
In this work, we investigate the quantum chaos in various $T\bar{T}$-deformed SYK models with finite $N$, including the SYK$_4$, the supersymmetric SYK$_4$, and the SYK$_2$ models. We numerically study the evolution of the spectral form factor (SFF), the out-of-time ordered correlator (OTOC), and the Krylov complexity. We find that the characteristic evolution of the SFF, OTOC and K-complexity of both the SYK$_4$ and SSYK$_4$ models remains unchanged under the deformation, which implies that the properties of quantum chaos is preserved. We also identify a many-body localization behavior in the…
Motivated by $T\bar T$, we introduce and study a wide class of solvable deformations of quantum-mechanical theories. These deformations map the Hamiltonian to a function of itself. We solve these theories by computing all finite-temperature correlation functions of the deformed theory in terms of the correlators of the undeformed theory. Applications to AdS/CFT, SYK, and the Schwarzian theory are considered. We write down the deformed Schwarzian action for an arbitrary Hamiltonian deformation and find that the maximal Lyapunov exponent is unchanged.
Recent studies have revealed intriguing similarities between the contribution of wormholes to the gravitational path integral and the phenomenon of replica symmetry breaking observed in spin glasses and other disordered systems. Interestingly, these configurations may also be important for the explanation of the information paradox of quantum black holes. Motivated by these developments, we investigate the thermodynamic properties of a $PT$-symmetric system composed of two random non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with no explicit coupling between them. After performing ensemble averaging, we identify…
We propose that the thermodynamics and the kinetics of the phase transition between wormhole and two black hole described by the two coupled SYK model can be investigated in terms of the stochastic dynamics on the underlying free energy landscape. We assume that the phase transition is a stochastic process under the thermal fluctuations. By quantifying the underlying free energy landscape, we study the phase diagram, the kinetic time and its fluctuations in details, which reveal the underlying thermodynamics and kinetics. It is shown that the first order phase transition between wormhole and t…
We study chiral algebras in the $\bar{Q}$-cohomology of two dimensional SYK models with extended supersymmetry. In a special limit discovered in arXiv:1805.09325, we are able to construct explicitly a "vertical" single-particle higher-spin algebra that is bilinear in the fundamental fields. This algebra can be regarded as the counterpart, when going away from criticality, of the infrared emergent higher-spin symmetry of the $\mathcal{N}=(0,2)$ SYK model. Moreover, a second "horizontal" single-particle higher-spin algebra appears in this limit. Together with the vertical algebra they generate a…
We examine the possibility of artificial Hawking radiation by proposing a non-PT - symmetric weakly pseudo-Hermitian two band model containing a tilting parameter. We also determine the tunneling probability using our Hamiltonian through the event horizon that acts as a classically forbidden barrier.
This paper presents a non-Hermitian PT-symmetric extension of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model of quantum chromodynamics in 3+1 and 1+1 dimensions. In 3+1 dimensions, the SU(2)-symmetric NJL Hamiltonian $H_{\textrm{NJL}} = \barψ(-i γ^k \partial_k + m_0) ψ- G [ (\barψψ)^2 + (\barψi γ_5 \vecτ ψ)^2 ]$ is extended by the non-Hermitian, PT- and chiral-symmetric bilinear term $ig\barψγ_5 B_μ γ^μ ψ$; in 1+1 dimensions, where $H_{\textrm{NJL}}$ is a form of the Gross-Neveu model, it is extended by the non-Hermitian PT-symmetric but chiral symmetry breaking term $g \barψγ_5 ψ$. In each case, the gap…
Within the framework of augmented version of the superfield approach to Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin (BRST) formalism, we derive the superspace unitary operator (and its Hermitian conjugate) in the context of four (3 + 1)-dimensional (4D) interacting non-Abelian 1-form gauge theory with Dirac fields. The ordinary 4D non-Abelian theory, defined on the flat 4D Minkowski spacetime manifold, is generalized onto a (4, 2)-dimensional supermanifold which is parameterized by the spacetime bosonic coordinates x^μ(with μ= 0, 1, 2, 3) and a pair of Grassmannian variables (θ, \barθ) which satisfy the standar…
The spectral singularity (SS) and coherent perfect absorption (CPA) have been extensively studied over the last one and half decade for different non-Hermitian potentials in non-Hermitian standard quantum mechanics (SQM) governed by Schrodinger equation. In the present work we explore these scattering features in the domain of non-Hermitian space fractional quantum mechanics (SFQM) governed by fractional Schrodinger equation which is characterized by Levy index $α$ ($ 1< α\leq 2$). We observe that non-Hermitian SFQM systems have more flexibility for SS and CPA and display some new features of …
We investigate the effects of non-Hermiticity on interacting fermionic systems. We do this by including non-Hermitian bilinear terms into the 3+1 dimensional Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model. Two possible bilinear modifications give rise to $\mathcal{PT}$ symmetric theories; this happens when the standard NJL model is extended either by a pseudovector background field $ig \barψγ_5 B_μγ^μψ$ or by an antisymmetric-tensor background field $g \barψF_{μν}γ^μγ^νψ$. The three remaining bilinears are {\it anti}-$\mathcal{PT}$-symmetric in nature, $ig \barψB_μγ^μψ, ig\barψγ_5 ψ$ and $ig\barψ{1}ψ$, so th…
In view of the newly discovered and physically acceptable $PT$ symmetric and non-Hermitian models, we reinvestigated the phase structure of the ($gϕ^{4}+hϕ^{6}$)$_{1+1}$ Hermitian model. The reinvestigation concerns the possibility of a phase transition from the original Hermitian and $PT$ symmetric phase to a non-Hermitian and $PT$ symmetric one. This kind of phase transition, if verified experimentally, will lead to the first proof that non-Hermitian and $PT$ symmetric models are not just a mathematical research framework but are a nature desire. To do the investigation, we calculated the ef…
In this work, we readdress the Dirac equation in the position-dependent mass (PDM) scenario. Here, one investigates the quantum dynamics of non-Hermitian fermionic particles with effective mass assuming a $(1+1)$-dimension flat spacetime. In seeking a Schrödinger-like theory with PT symmetry is appropriate to assume a complex potential. This imaginary interaction produces an effective potential purely dependent on mass distribution. Furthermore, we study the non-relativistic limit by adopting the Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation. As a result, that limit leads to an ordering equivalent to the or…
The construction of exactly-solvable models has recently been advanced by considering integrable $T\bar{T}$ deformations and related Hamiltonian deformations in quantum mechanics. We introduce a broader class of non-Hermitian Hamiltonian deformations in a nonrelativistic setting, to account for the description of a large class of open quantum systems, which includes, e.g., arbitrary Markovian evolutions conditioned to the absence of quantum jumps. We relate the time evolution operator and the time-evolving density matrix in the undeformed and deformed theories in terms of integral transforms w…
The spectral singularity (SS) from a non-Hermitian potential is one of the most remarkable scattering feature of non-Hermitian quantum mechanics. At the spectral singular point, the scattering amplitudes diverge to infinite. This phenomena have been extensively studied over the last two decades. The previous studies have suggested the need of extremely fine control of the various system parameters for practical applications of SS. However no study have been carried out to understand the behavior of the scattering amplitude in the vicinity of SS. Such study would be important towards the practi…
Relativistic PT-symmetric fermionic interacting systems are studied in 1+1 and 3+1 dimensions. The objective is to include non-Hermitian PT-symmetric interaction terms that give {\it real} spectra. Such interacting systems could describe new physics. The simplest non-Hermitian Lagrangian density is $L=L_0+L_{int}=\barψ(i\not\partial-m)ψ-g\barψγ^5ψ$. The associated relativistic Dirac equation is PT invariant in 1+1 dimensions and the associated Hamiltonian commutes with PT. However, the dispersion relation $p^2=m^2-g^2$ shows that the PT symmetry is broken in the chiral limit $m\to0$. For inter…
We investigate the effective potential of the $PT$ symmetric $(-gϕ^{4}) $ field theory, perturbatively as well as non-perturbatively. For the perturbative calculations, we first use normal ordering to obtain the first order effective potential from which the predicted vacuum condensate vanishes exponentially as $G\to G^+$ in agreement with previous calculations. For the higher orders, we employed the invariance of the bare parameters under the change of the mass scale $t$ to fix the transformed form totally equivalent to the original theory. The form so obtained up to $G^3$ is new and shows th…
We introduce a new non-Hermitian random matrix model for QCD with a baryon chemical potential. This model is a direct chiral extension of a previously studied model that interpolates between the Wigner-Dyson and Ginibre ensembles. We present exact results for all eigenvalue correlations for any number of quark flavors using the orthogonal polynomial method. We also find that the parameters of the model can be scaled to remove the effects of the chemical potential from all thermodynamic quantities until the finite density phase transition is reached. This makes the model and its extensions well…
Using a nonperturbative approach based on the Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis effective action $Γ(S)$ for composite operators ($S$ is the full fermion propagator), the phase structure of the simplest massless (2 + 1)-dimensional Gross-Neveu model is investigated. We have calculated $Γ(S)$ and its stationary (or Dyson-Schwinger) equation in the first order of the bare coupling constant $G$ and have shown that there exist a well-defined dependence of $G\equiv G(Λ)$ on the cutoff parameter $Λ$, such that the Dyson-Schwinger equation is renormalized. It has three different solutions for fermion propagat…
The construction of fully (anti-)symmetric states with many particles, when the single particle state carries multiple quantum numbers, is a problem that seems to have not been systematically addressed in the literature. A quintessential example is the construction of ground state baryon wave functions where the color singlet condition reduces the problem to just two (flavor and spin) quantum numbers. In this paper, we address the general problem by noting that it can be re-interpreted as an eigenvalue equation, and provide a formalism that applies to generic number of particles and generic nu…
