We report the discovery and spectroscopic identification of the bright doubly lensed quasar eRASS1 J050129.5-073309 at redshift $z=2.47$, selected from the first all-sky survey of the ${\it Spectrum\; Roentgen\; Gamma\; (SRG)}$ eROSITA telescope and the ${\it Gaia}$ EDR3 catalog. We systematically search for extragalactic sources with eROSITA X-ray positions having multiple ${\it Gaia}$ counterparts and have started spectroscopic follow-up of the most promising candidates using long-slit spectroscopy with NTT/EFOSC2 to confirm the lens nature. The two images are separated by $2.7''$ and their average ${\it Gaia}$ ${\it g}$-band magnitudes are 16.95 and 17.33. Legacy Survey DR10 imaging and image modeling reveal both the lensing galaxy and tentatively the lensed image of the quasar host galaxy. Archival optical light curves show evidence of a variability time delay with the fainter component lagging the brighter by about 100 days. The fainter image has also decreased its brightness by about 1 magnitude since 2019. This dimming was still obvious at the time of the spectroscopic observations and is probably caused by microlensing. The optical spectroscopic follow-up obtained from NTT/EFOSC2 and the evidence provided by the imaging and timing analysis allow us to confirm the lensed nature of eRASS1 J050129.5-073309.
We report the discovery of a candidate X-ray supernova remnant SRGe J003602.3+605421=G121.1-1.9 in the course of \textit{SRG}/eROSITA all-sky survey. The object is located at (l,b)=(121.1$^\circ$,-1.9$^\circ$), is $\approx36$ arcmin in angular size and has a nearly circular shape. Clear variations in spectral shape of the X-ray emission across the object are detected, with the emission from the inner (within 9') and outer (9'-18') parts dominated by iron and oxygen/neon lines, respectively. The non-equilibrium plasma emission model is capable of describing the spectrum of the outer part with t…
Based on a comparison of the SRG/eROSITA catalog of X-ray active stars and the Gaia catalog, a sample of 502 peculiar objects was obtained for which Gaia, on one hand, detects statistically significant values of parallax or proper motion and, on the other hand, registers signs of the non zero source extent in the optical band. In the log ($F_X/F_{\rm opt}$) - (G-RP) color diagram these objects are separated from the balk of X-ray active stars and are located in the region typical for the galaxies with active nuclei. According to the SIMBAD database, about $\sim 50$% of them are confirmed AGNs …

We report a discovery of a new X-ray-selected supernova remnant (SNR) candidate SRGe~J0023+3625 = G116.6-26.1 found in the SRG/eROSITA all-sky survey. The source features a large angular extent ($\sim 4$ deg in diameter), nearly circular shape and X-ray spectrum dominated by emission lines of helium- and hydrogen-like oxygen. It lacks bright counterparts of similar extent at other wavelengths which could be unequivocally associated with it. Given the relatively high Galactic latitude of the source, $b\approx-26$ deg, we interpret these observational properties as an indication of the off-disk …
X-ray reflection off dense molecular clouds in the Galactic Centre region has established itself as a powerful probe for the past activity record of the supermassive black hole Sgr A* on a timescale of a few hundred years. Detailed studies of the reflection signal from individual clouds allow us to estimate parameters of the brightest flare(s) and explore properties of the dense gas distribution inside and around them. On the other hand, wide area surveys covering the full Central Molecular Zone (CMZ) are crucial to spot brightening of the new clouds and long-term decay of the flux from the on…
We present the results of our identification of 17 X-ray sources detected in the 4-12 keV energy range by the Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope during the first year of the SRG all-sky survey. Three of them have been discovered by the ART-XC telescopes, while the remaining ones have already been known previously as X-ray sources, but their nature has remained unknown. We took optical spectra for nine sources located in the northern sky $δ> -20$ deg with the 1.6-m AZT-33IK telescope at the Sayan Observatory (the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy…
This is the first paper in a series of studies of the Coma cluster using the SRG/eROSITA X-ray data obtained in course of the Calibration and Performance Verification observations. The data cover $\sim3^\circ\times 3^\circ$ area around the cluster with a typical exposure time of more than 20 ks. The stability of the instrumental background and operation of the SRG Observatory in the scanning mode provided us with an excellent data set for studies of the diffuse emission up to a distance of $\sim 1.5R_{200}$ from the Coma center. In this study, we discuss the rich morphology revealed by the X-r…

SRGE J170245.3+130104 was discovered by the eROSITA telescope aboard the SRG space observatory on March 13-15, 2020 during the first half-year scan of its all-sky X-ray survey. The optical counterpart of the X-ray source was photometrically identified as a distant quasar candidate at $z\approx5.5$. Follow-up spectroscopic observations, done in August/September 2020 with the SCORPIO-II instrument at the BTA 6-m telescope, confirmed that SRGE J170245.3+130104 is a distant quasar at redshift z=5.466. The X-ray luminosity of the quasar during the first half-year scan of the eROSITA all-sky survey …
Aims. We study the X-ray emission of the galactic supernova remnant (SNR) G18.95-1.1 with the eROSITA telescope on board the Spectrum Rentgen Gamma (SRG) orbital observatory. In addition to the pulsar wind nebula that was previously identified and examined by ASCA and Chandra, we study the X-ray spectra of the bright SNR ridge, which is resolved into a few bright clumps. Methods. The wide field of view and the large collecting area in the 0.2-2.3 keV energy range of SRG/eROSITA allowed us to perform spatially resolved spectroscopy of G18.95-1.1. Results. The X-ray ridge of G18.95-1.1 is asymme…

Stars are ubiquitous X-ray emitters and will be a substantial fraction of the X-ray sources detected in the on-going all-sky survey performed by the eROSITA instrument aboard the Spectrum Roentgen Gamma (SRG) observatory. We use the X-ray sources in the eROSITA Final Equatorial-Depth Survey (eFEDS) field observed during the SRG performance verification phase to investigate different strategies to identify the stars among other source categories. We focus here on Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Bayesian approaches, and our approaches are based on a cross-match with the Gaia catalog, which will…

We present the results of our identification of eight objects from a preliminary catalogue of X-ray sources detected in the 4-12 keV energy band by the Mikhail Pavlinsky ART-XC telescope aboard the SRG observatory during its first all-sky survey. Three of them (SRGAJ005751.0+210846,SRGAJ014157.0-032915, SRGAJ232446.8+440756) have been discovered by ART-XC, while five were already known previously as X-ray sources, but their nature remained unknown. The last five sources have also been detected in soft X-rays by the eROSITA telescope of the SRG observatory. Our optical observations were carried…

In the context of the upcoming SRG/eROSITA survey, we present an N-body simulation-based mock catalogue for X-ray selected AGN samples. The model reproduces the observed hard X-ray AGN luminosity function (XLF) and the soft X-ray logN-logS from redshift 0 to 6. The XLF is reproduced to within $\pm5\%$ and the logN-logS to within $\pm20\%$. We develop a joint X-ray -- optical extinction and classification model. We adopt a set of empirical spectral energy distributions to predict observed magnitudes in the UV, optical and NIR. With the latest eROSITA all sky survey sensitivity model, we create …
The eROSITA Final Equatorial-Depth Survey (eFEDS), executed during the performance verification phase of the Spectrum-Roentgen-Gamma (SRG)/eROSITA telescope, was completed in Nov. 2019. One of the science goals of this survey is to demonstrate the ability of eROSITA to detect samples of clusters and groups at the final depth of the eROSITA all-sky survey. Because of the sizeable point-spread function of eROSITA, high-redshift clusters of galaxies or compact nearby groups hosting bright active galactic nuclei (AGN) can be misclassified as point sources by the source detection algorithms. A tota…
