In a long series of works, it has been demonstrated, that the {\it spin-charge-family} theory offers the explanation for all in the {\it standard model} assumed properties of the second quantized fermion and boson fields, offering several predictions as well as explanations for several of the observed phenomena. The theory assumes a simple starting action in even dimensional spaces with $d \ge (13 +1)$ with massless fermions interacting with gravity only. The internal spaces of fermion and boson fields are described by the Clifford odd and even objects, respectively. This contribution discusses the properties of the fermion and boson fields in odd dimensional spaces, $d=(2n +1)$, with the internal spaces of fermion and boson fields described again by the Clifford odd and even objects, respectively, pointing out that their properties differ essentially from the properties in even dimensional spaces, resembling the ghost needed when looking for final solutions with Feynman diagrams.
Farinholt gives a characterization of Clifford operators for qudits; d both odd and even. In this comment it is shown that the necessary gates for the construction of Clifford operators; N both odd and even, are obtained directly from operations that appear in SU(N)1. A witness for W3 states in SU(2)1 is discussed. See e.g. [1-4].
We investigate supergroups with Grassmann parameters replaced by odd Clifford parameters. The connection with non-anticommutative supersymmetry is discussed. A Berezin-like calculus for odd Clifford variables is introduced. Fermionic covariant derivatives for supergroups with odd Clifford variables are derived. Applications to supersymmetric quantum mechanics are made. Deformations of the original supersymmetric theories are encountered when the fermionic covariant derivatives do not obey the graded Leibniz property. The simplest non-trivial example is given by the N=2 SQM with a real $(1,2,1)…
In a long series of works the author has demonstrated that the model named the {\it spin-charge-family} theory offers the explanation for all in the {\it standard model} assumed properties of the fermion and boson fields, as well as for many of their so far observed properties if the space-time is $\ge (13 +1)$ while fermions interact with gravity only. In this paper, I briefly report on the so far achievements of the theory. The main contribution demonstrates the offer of the Clifford odd and even objects for the description of the internal spaces of fermion (Clifford odd) and boson (Clifford…
We present in Part II the description of the internal degrees of freedom of fermions by the superposition of odd products of the Clifford algebra elements, either $γ^a$'s or $\tildeγ^a$'s, which determine with their oddness the anticommuting properties of the creation and annihilation operators of the second quantized fermion fields in even $d$-dimensional space-time, as we do in Part I of this paper by the Grassmann algebra elements $θ^a$'s and $\frac{\partial}{\partial θ_a}$'s. We discuss: {\bf i.} The properties of the two kinds of the odd Clifford algebras, forming two independent spaces, …
In the review article in Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics (vol.121(2021) 103890)) the authors present the achievements so far of the spin-charge-family theory, which offers the explanation for all the so far observed properties of elementary fermion and boson fields, if the space-time is higher than d=(3+1), it must be $d\ge (13+1)$. Fermions interact with gravity only. Ref. PPNP (vol.121(2021) 103890)) presents, in addition to a rather detailed review of all the achievements of this theory so far, also an explanation for the postulates of the second quantization for fermionic fields: …
How Clifford algebra helps understand second quantized quarks and leptons and corresponding vector and scalar boson fields, {\it opening a new step beyond the standard model}
This contribution presents properties of the second quantized not only fermion fields but also boson fields, if the second quantization of both kinds of fields origins in the description of the internal space of fields with the ''basis vectors'' which are the superposition of odd (when describing fermions) or even (when describing bosons) products of the Clifford algebra operators $γ^a$'s. The tensor products of the ''basis vectors'' with the basis in ordinary space forming the creation operators manifest the anticommutativty (of fermions) or commutativity (of bosons) of the ''basis vectors'',…
A theory in which 4-dimensional spacetime is generalized to a larger space, namely a 16-dimensional Clifford space (C-space) is investigated. Curved Clifford space can provide a realization of Kaluza-Klein theory. A covariant Dirac equation in curved C-space is explored. The generalized Dirac field is assumed to be a polyvector-valued object (a Clifford number) which can be written as a superposition of four independent spinors, each spanning a different left ideal of Clifford algebra. The general transformations of a polyvector can act from the left and/or from the right, and form a large gau…
In this paper we derive the most general first-order symmetry operator commuting with the Dirac operator in all dimensions and signatures. Such an operator splits into Clifford even and Clifford odd parts which are given in terms of odd Killing-Yano and even closed conformal Killing-Yano inhomogeneous forms respectively. We study commutators of these symmetry operators and give necessary and sufficient conditions under which they remain of the first-order. In this specific setting we can introduce a Killing-Yano bracket, a bilinear operation acting on odd Killing-Yano and even closed conformal…
How far has so far the Spin-Charge-Family theory succeeded to offer the explanation for the observed phenomena in elementary particle physics and cosmology
Both algebras, Clifford and Grassmann, offer "basis vectors" for describing the internal degrees of freedom of fermions. The oddness of the "basis vectors", transferred to the creation operators, which are tensor products of the finite number of "basis vectors" and the infinite number of momentum basis, and to their Hermitian conjugated partners annihilation operators, offers the second quantization of fermions without postulating the conditions proposed by Dirac, enabling the explanation of the Dirac's postulates. But while the Clifford fermions manifest the half integer spins -- in agreement…
Zero modes arising from a planar Majorana equation in the presence of $N$ vortices require an $\mathcal{N}$-dimensional state-space, where $\mathcal{N} = 2^{N/2}$ for $N$ even and $\mathcal{N} = 2^{(N + 1)/2}$ for $N$ odd. The mode operators form a restricted $\mathcal{N}$-dimensional Clifford algebra.
Drawing an analogy with the Dirac theory of fermions interacting with electromagnetic and gravitational field we write down supersymmetric equations of motion and construct a superfield action for particles with spin 1/4 and 3/4 (quartions), where the role of quartion momentum in effective (2+1)--dimensional space-time is played by an abelian gauge superfield propagating in a basic two-dimensional Grassmann-odd space with a cosmological constant showing itself as the quartion mass. So, the (0|2) (0 even and 2 odd) dimensional model of quartions interacting with the gauge and gravitational fiel…
Real physical systems with reflective and rotational symmetries such as viruses, fullerenes and quasicrystals have recently been modeled successfully in terms of three-dimensional (affine) Coxeter groups. Motivated by this progress, we explore here the benefits of performing the relevant computations in a Geometric Algebra framework, which is particularly suited to describing reflections. Starting from the Coxeter generators of the reflections, we describe how the relevant chiral (rotational), full (Coxeter) and binary polyhedral groups can be easily generated and treated in a unified way in a…
We demonstrate a method for describing one-dimensional N-extended supermultiplets and building supersymmetric actions in terms of unconstrained prepotential superfields, explicitly working with the Scalar supermultiplet. The method uses intuitive manipulations of Adinkras and GR(d,N) algebras, a variant of Clifford algebras. In the process we clarify the relationship between Adinkras, GR(d,N) algebras, and superspace.
The Weyl fermions with a well defined chirality are known to demand that the dimension of space which they inhabit must be odd. It is shown here, however, that not all odd dimensional spaces are equally good hosts: in particular, an arbitrary number of chiral Weyl fermions can acquire a Majorana mass only in three (modulo eight) dimensions. The argument utilizes a) the precise analogy that exists between the Majorana mass term and the Cooper pairing of time-reversed Weyl fermions, and b) the conditions on the requisite time-reversal operator, which are implied by the Clifford algebra. The theo…
We study the time-dependent dynamics of a collection of N collapsing/expanding D0-branes in type IIA String Theory. We show that the fuzzy-S^3 and S^5 provide time-dependent solutions to the Matrix Model of D0-branes and its DBI generalisation. Some intriguing cancellations in the calculation of the non-abelian DBI Matrix actions result in the fuzzy-S^3 and S^5 having the same dynamics at large-N. For the Matrix model, we find analytic solutions describing the time-dependent radius, in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions. Investigation of the physical properties of these configurations shows th…
For a spacetime of odd dimensions endowed with a unit vector field, we introduce a new topological current that is identically conserved and whose charge is equal to the Euler character of the even dimensional spacelike foliations. The existence of this current allows us to introduce new Chern-Simons-type terms in the effective field theories describing relativistic quantum Hall states and (2+1) dimensional superfluids. Using effective field theory, we calculate various correlation functions and identify transport coefficients. In the quantum Hall case, this current provides the natural relati…
In Ref. [arXiv:1802.05554v3] one of the authors (N.S.M.B.) studies the second quantization of fermions with integer spin while describing the internal degrees of freedom of fermions in Grassmann space. In this contribution we study the representations in Grassmann space of the groups $SO(5,1)$, $SO(3,1)$, $SU(3) \times U(1)$, and $SO(4)$, which are of particular interest as the subgroups of the group $SO(13,1)$. The second quantized integer spin fermions, appearing in Grassmann space, not observed so far, could be an alternative choice to the half integer spin fermions, appearing in Clifford s…
