Measurement-induced phase transition in the presence of competition between projective measurement and random unitary evolution has attracted increasing attention due to the rich phenomenology of entanglement structures. However, in open quantum systems with free fermions, a generalized measurement with conditional feedback can induce skin effect and render the system short-range entangled without any entanglement transition, meaning the system always remains in the ``area law'' entanglement phase. In this work, we demonstrate that the power-law long-range hopping does not alter the absence of entanglement transition brought on by the measurement-induced skin effect for systems with open boundary conditions. In addition, for the finite-size systems, we discover an algebraic scaling $S(L, L/4)\sim L^{3/2-p}$ when the power-law exponent $p$ of long-range hopping is relatively small. For systems with periodic boundary conditions, we find that the measurement-induced skin effect disappears and observe entanglement phase transitions among ``algebraic law'', ``logarithmic law'', and ``area law'' phases.
We obtain an analytic solution for a three-parameter class of logarithmic potentials at zero energy. The potential terms are products of the inverse square and the inverse log to powers 2, 1 and 0. The configuration space is the one-dimensional box. Using point canonical transformation, we simplify the solution by mapping the problem into the oscillator problem. We also obtain an approximate analytic solution for non-zero energy when there is strong attraction to one side of the box. The wavefunction is written in terms of the confluent hypergeometric function. We also present a numerical sche…

We study the damping dynamics of the single-particle correlation for an open system under periodic and aperiodic order, which is dominated by the Lindblad master equation. In the absence of the aperiodic order, the Liouvillian superoperator exhibits the non-Hermitian skin effect, which leads to unidirectional damping dynamics, dubbed as "chiral damping". Due to the non-Hermitian skin effect, the damping dynamics is boundary sensitive: The long-time damping of such open systems is algebraic under periodic boundary conditions but exponential under open boundary conditions. We reveal the phase tr…
We investigate the stationary and dynamical behavior of an Anderson localized chain coupled to a single central bound state. The coupling to the central site partially dilutes the Anderson localized peak towards the nearly resonant sites. In particular, the number of resonantly coupled sites remains finite in the thermodynamic limit. This is further supported by a multifractal analysis of eigenstates that shows the frozen spectrum of fractal dimension, which is characteristic for localized phases in models with power-law hopping. Although the well-known Fano-resonance problem is seemingly simi…

We show that the bipartite logarithmic entanglement negativity (EN) of quantum spin models obeys an area law at all nonzero temperatures. We develop numerical linked cluster (NLC) expansions for the `area-law' logarithmic entanglement negativity as a function of temperature and other parameters. For one-dimensional models the results of NLC are compared with exact diagonalization on finite systems and are found to agree very well. The NLC results are also obtained for two dimensional XXZ and transverse-field Ising models. In all cases, we find a sudden onset (or sudden death) of negativity at …

We study a class of (1+1)D symmetric random quantum circuits with two competing types of measurements in addition to random unitary dynamics. The circuit exhibits a rich phase diagram involving robust symmetry-protected topological (SPT), trivial, and volume law entangled phases, where the transitions are hidden to expectation values of operators and can only be accessed through the entanglement entropy averaged over quantum trajectories. In the absence of unitary dynamics, we find a purely measurement-induced critical point with logarithmic scaling of the entanglement entropy, which we map ex…
