We present a wide-field homodyne imaging system capable of recovering intensity and phase images of an object from a single camera frame at an illumination intensity significantly below the noise floor of the camera. By interfering a weak imaging signal with a much brighter reference beam we are able to image objects in the short-wave infrared down to signal intensity of $\sim$$1.1$ photons per pixel per frame incident on the sensor despite the camera having a noise floor of $\sim$$200$ photons per pixel. Single-pixel digital "ghost" holography

Since its discovery, the "ghost" diffraction phenomenon has emerged as a non-conventional technique for optical imaging with very promising advantages. However, extracting intensity and phase information of a structured and realistic object remains a challenge. Here, we show that a "ghost" hologram can be recorded with a single-pixel configuration by adapting concepts from standard digital holography. The presented homodyne scheme enables phase imaging with nanometric depth resolution, three-dimensional focusing ability, and shows high signal-to-noise ratio.

High Frame-Rate Phase Camera for High-Resolution Wavefront Sensing in Gravitational-Wave Detectors

We present a novel way of wavefront sensing using a commercially available, continuous-wave time-of-flight camera with QVGA-resolution. This CMOS phase camera is capable of sensing externally modulated light sources with frequencies up to 100 MHz. The high-spatial-resolution of the sensor, combined with our integrated control electronics, allows the camera to image power modulation index as low as -62 dBc/second/pixel.
