We propose that the squeezed light accompanied by hyperradiance is induced by quantum interference in a linear system consisting of a high quality optical cavity and two coherently driven two-level qubits. When two qubits are placed at the crest and trough of the standing wave in the cavity respectively (i.e., they have the opposite coupling coefficient to the cavity), we show that squeezed light is generated in the hyperradiance regime under the conditions of strong coupling and weak driving. Simultaneously, the Klyshko's criterion alternates up and down at unity when the photon number is even or odd. Moreover, the orthogonal angles of the squeezed light can be controlled by adjusting the frequency detuning pressure between the driving field and the qubits. It can be implemented in a variety of quantum systems, including but not limited to two-level systems such as atoms, quantum dots in single-mode cavities.
We propose a scheme to generate strong and robust mechanical squeezing in an optomechanical system in the highly unresolved sideband (HURSB) regime with the help of the Duffing nonlinearity and intracavity squeezed light. The system is formed by a standard optomechanical system with the Duffing nonlinearity (mechanical nonlinearity) and a second-order nonlinear medium (optical nonlinearity). In the resolved sideband regime, the second-order nonlinear medium may play a destructive role in the generation of mechanical squeezing. However, it can significantly increase the mechanical squeezing (la…
This study significantly concentrates on cryogenic InP HEMT high-frequency circuit analysis using quantum theory to find how the transistor nonlinearity can affect the quantum correlation of the modes generated in the circuit. Firstly, the total Hamiltonian of the circuit is derived, and the dynamic equation of the motion contributed is examined using the Heisenberg-Langevin equation. Using the nonlinear Hamiltonian, some components are attached to the intrinsic internal circuit of InP HEMT to fully address the circuit characteristics. The components attached are arisen due to the nonlinearity…

This study focuses on generating and manipulating squeezed states with two external oscillators coupled by an InP HEMT transistor operating at cryogenic temperatures. First, the small-signal nonlinear model of the transistor at high frequency at 5 K is analyzed using quantum theory, and the related Lagrangian is theoretically derived. Subsequently, the total quantum Hamiltonian of the system is derived using Legendre transformation. The Hamiltonian of the system includes linear and nonlinear terms, by which the effects on the time evolution of the states are studied. The main result shows that…
We demonstrate vacuum squeezing at the D1 line of atomic rubidium (795 nm) with a tunable, doubly-resonant, monolithic sub-threshold optical parametric oscillator in periodically-poled Rb-doped potassium titanyl phosphate. The squeezing appears to be undiminished by a strong dispersive optical nonlinearity recently observed in this material.
Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill (GKP) qubit is a promising ingredient for fault-tolerant quantum computation (FTQC) in optical continuous variables due to its advantage of noise tolerance and scalability. However, one of the main problems in the preparation of the optical GKP qubit is the difficulty in obtaining the nonlinearity. Cross-Kerr interaction is one of the promising candidates for this nonlinearity. There is no existing scheme to use the cross-Kerr interaction to generate the optical GKP qubit for FTQC. In this work, we propose a generation method of the GKP qubit by using a cross-Kerr int…
Squeezed light is a critical resource in quantum sensing and information processing. Due to the inherently weak optical nonlinearity and limited interaction volume, considerable pump power is typically needed to obtain efficient interactions to generate squeezed light in bulk crystals. Integrated photonics offers an elegant way to increase the nonlinearity by confining light strictly inside the waveguide. For the construction of large-scale quantum systems performing many-photon operations, it is essential to integrate various functional modules on a chip. However, fabrication imperfections an…
We propose a scheme to generate entanglement between two cavity modes and squeeze magnon mode in a magnon-cavity QED system, where the two microwave cavity modes are coupled with a massive yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere through magnetic dipole interaction. The nonlinearity used in our system originates from a squeezed driving via parametric down-conversion process, which is the reason to cause entanglement and squeezing. By using the mean field approximation and employing experimentally feasible parameters, we demonstrate that the system shows zero entanglement and squeezing without squeezed…
Inspired by the recent experiment of Hamsen et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 118, 133604 (2017)], which demonstrated two-photon blockade in a driven nonlinear system (composed of a harmonic cavity with a driven atom), we show that two-photon blockade and other nonstandard types of photon blockade and photon-induced tunneling can be generated in a driven harmonic cavity without an atom or any other kind of nonlinearity, but instead coupled to a nonlinear (i.e., squeezed) reservoir. We also simulate these single- and two-photon effects with squeezed coherent states and displaced squeezed thermal states.

Squeezed light is one of the resources of photonic quantum technology. Among the various nonlinear interactions capable of generating squeezing, the optical Kerr effect is particularly easy-to-use. A popular venue is to generate polarization squeezing, which is a special self-referencing variant of two-mode squeezing. To date, polarization squeezing generation setups have been very sensitive to fluctuations of external factors and have required careful tuning. In this work, we report on a development of a new all-fibre setup for polarization squeezing generation. The setup consists of passive …
Two-photon absorption (TPA) is of fundamental importance in super-resolution imaging and spectroscopy. Its nonlinear character allows for the prospect of using quantum resources, such as entanglement, to improve measurement precision or to gain new information on, e.g., ultrafast molecular dynamics. Here, we establish the metrological properties of nonclassical squeezed light sources for precision measurements of TPA cross sections. We find that there is no fundamental limit for the precision achievable with squeezed states in the limit of very small cross sections. Considering the most releva…
A cat-state is a superposition of two coherent states with amplitudes $α_{0}$ and $-α_{0}$. Recent experiments create cat states in a microwave cavity field using superconducting circuits. As with degenerate parametric oscillation (DPO) in an adiabatic and highly nonlinear limit, the states are formed in a signal cavity mode via a two-photon dissipative process induced by the down conversion of a pump field to generate pairs of signal photons. The damping of the signal and the presence of thermal fluctuations rapidly decoheres the state, and the effect on the dynamics is to either destroy the …

Influence of the self-phase modulation of quantum light on the induced resonant excitation of a semiconductor quantum dot is studied analytically in the case of the Kerr-nonlinearity of the medium. The phase nonlinearity is found to result actually in a resonance detuning specific for each field photon number state. This effect is shown to provide significant decrease of the excitation efficiency accompanied at the same time by more regular excitation dynamics obtained even for initial squeezed vacuum field state. The enhancement of entanglement between semiconductor and field subsystems with …
Quantum entanglement and position-momentum entropic squeezing of a moving Lambda-type three-level atom interacting with a single-mode quantized field with intensity-dependent coupling
A controlled evolution generated by nonlinear interactions is required to perform full manipulation of a quantum system, and such control is only coherent when the rate of nonlinearity is large compared to the rate of decoherence. As a result, engineered quantum systems typically rely on a bare nonlinearity much stronger than all decoherence rates, and this hierarchy is usually assumed to be necessary. In this work, we challenge this assumption by demonstrating the universal control of a quantum system where the relevant rate of bare nonlinear interaction is comparable to the fastest rate of d…
We present a detailed calculation of the linear and nonlinear optical response of four types of monolayer Two-Dimensional (2D) Transition-Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDCs), having the formula $\textrm{MX}_2$ with M=Mo,W and X=S,Se. The calculations are based on 6-band tight-binding model of TMDCs, and then performing a semiclassical perturbation analysis of response functions. We numerically calculate the linear $χ_{μν}^{(1)}(-ω;ω)$ and nonlinear surface susceptibility tensors $χ_{μνζη}^{(3)} (-ω_Σ;ω_r,ω_s,ω_t)$ with $ω_Σ=ω_r+ω_s+ω_t$. Both non-degenerate and degenerate cases are studied for third…
We show how to generate an entangled pair of yttrium iron garnet (YIG) samples in a cavity-magnon system without using any nonlinearities which are typically very weak. This is against the conventional wisdom which necessarily requires strong Kerr like nonlinearity. Our key idea, which leads to entanglement, is to drive the cavity by a weak squeezed vacuum field generated by a flux-driven Josephson parametric amplifier (JPA). The two YIG samples interact via the cavity. For modest values of the squeezing of the pump, we obtain significant entanglement. This is the principal feature of our sche…
