Tau leptons can have lepton-flavor-violating (LFV) couplings to a muon or an electron and an Axion-Like Particle (ALP). ALPs are pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons associated with spontaneously broken global U(1) symmetries. LFV ALPs have been of a great interest in the last several decades as they can address some of the SM long-lasting problems. Assuming a future muon collider proposed by the Muon Accelerator Program (MAP), we search for LFV decays $τ\rightarrow\ell a$ ($\ell=e,μ$) of one of the tau leptons produced in the muon-anti muon annihilation. The ALP mass is assumed to be in the range 100 eV to 1 MeV and three different chiral structures are considered for the LFV coupling. Using a multivariate technique and performing a parameterized simulation based on the ideal target performance, we obtain expected 95$\%$ confidence level upper limits on the LFV couplings tau-electron-ALP and tau-muon-ALP. Limits are computed assuming the center-of-mass energies of 126, 350 and 1500 GeV which the future muon collider is supposed to operate at. We study the two cases of unpolarized and polarized muon beams and show that taking advantage of tau polarization-induced effects, the main background $τ\rightarrow e/μ+ ν\barν$ can be significantly reduced. Results indicate that current limits on the LFV couplings can be improved by roughly one order of magnitude using the present analysis.
The dimension-six CP-violating SU_L(2)\times U_Y(1) invariant operators involving the tau lepton are studied. The constraints from the available experimental data on tau dipole moments are derived. Under the current constraints, the induced CP-violating effects could possibly be observed in tau -> 3πν_τ at the future tau-charm factory.
The most general model independent expressions for the CP-violating asymmetry, longitudinal, transversal and normal polarizations of leptons are derived. Application of these general results to the concrete models such as Standard model and three different types of two Higgs doublet model is discussed.
We consider low-energy CPT-violating modifications in charged current weak interactions and analyze possible ramifications in muon and antimuon decays. We calculate the lifetime of muon and antimuon with these modifications, and from the result, put bounds on the CPT-violating parameters. Moreover, we elaborate on the muon and antimuon decay rate differentials in electron energy and spatial angle, which entail interesting phenomenological consequences presenting new ways to constrain CPT violation in charged lepton decays.
Recent Standard Model predictions for the anomalous magnetic moments of the electron, muon and tau lepton are reviewed and compared to the latest experimental values.
We summarized our report on leptonic flavor violating Higgs decay into mu + tau under the scheme of a generic supersymmetric standard model without R parity. With known experimental constraints imposed, important combinations of R-parity violating parameters which can give notable branching ratios are listed.
The experimental discovery of large nu_mu-nu_tau mixing indicates that analogous mixing in the charged lepton sector could be substantial. We consider the possibility that if a high intensity muon beam, perhaps at the early stages of a muon or neutrino factory, strikes a nuclear target, then conversion of some of the muons into tau leptons could occur (similar to the conversion of muons to electrons at MECO). Using current experimental limits on rare tau decays to bound the size of the relevant operators, we find that a 50 GeV muon beam, with 10^20 muons on target per year, could yield as many…
We study effects of unparticle physics on muon g-2 and LFV tau decay processes. LFV interactions between the Standard Model sector and unparticles can explain the difference of experimental value of muon g-2 from the Standard Model prediction. While the same couplings generate LFV tau decay, we found that LFV coupling can be of O(0.1 ... 1) without conflict with experimental bounds of LFV tau decay if the scaling dimension of unparticle operator d_{U} > 1.6.
Now the bounds on the lepton-flavor violating (LFV) decay modes of tau lepton are being improved by the Belle experiment in the KEK B factory. In this paper the LFV decay of tau lepton is discussed in the supersymmetric seesaw model, using the current neutrino oscillation data.
Treating the Koide equation and another efficient charged-lepton mass formula (having the form of a mass sum rule) as a system of two mathematically independent algebraic equations for three charged-lepton masses, we predict the tauon mass as well as the ratio of electron and muon masses, both consistent with experiment.
We calculate the possible CP violating asymmetries for LFV decays mu -> e gamma and tau -> mu gamma. Our predictions depend on the chosen new model independent contribution. The result of measurements of such asymmetries for these decays will open a new window to determine the physics beyond the SM.
We present an analytic calculation of electron and tau O(alpha^3) loop effects on the muon anomalous magnetic moment. Computation of such three-loop diagrams with three mass scales is possible using asymptotic and eikonal expansions. An evaluation of a new type of eikonal integrals is presented in some detail.
In this talk, we investigate Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) tau decay by R-Parity Violating (RPV) operators controlled by a non-Abelian discrete $Q_6$ family symmetry. We assume that only a family symmetry determines the whole flavor structure of a model, and the model indicates specific predictions of LFV tau decay processes by RPV operators. We predict $BR(τ\to 3e)/BR(τ\to 3 μ) \sim 4 m_μ^2/m_τ^2$ in a $Q_6$ family symmetric model.
We study the T violating transverse muon polarization in the decay of $K^+\to μ^+νγ$ due to CP violation in theories beyond the standard model. We find that the polarization asymmetry could be large in some CP violation models and it may be detectable at the ongoing KEK experiment of E246 as well as the proposed BNL experiment.
We calculated the differential cross sections of the processes in which one of the pair created tau particles at an e^+ e^- collider decays into lepton flavor violating final states e.g. tau -> mu gamma, tau -> 3 mu, tau -> mu ee. Using the correlations between angular distributions of both sides of tau decays, we can obtain information on parity and CP violations of lepton flavor non-conserving interactions. The formulae derived here are useful in distinguishing different models, since each model of physics beyond the standard model predicts different angular correlations. We also calculate a…
We discuss precision measurements of the leading atmospheric parameters at a standard neutrino factory with a detector that is sensitive to muons alone. The oscillation of the muon- and electron neutrinos in the neutrino factory beam to tau neutrinos adds to the muon events sample (both right sign and wrong sign) via leptonic decays of the taus produced through charge-current interactions in the detector. In particular, we study how this affects a precision measurement of the atmospheric mixing parameters and the deviation of nu_mu <--> nu_tau mixing from maximality. In spite of the enhancemen…
The angular asymmetry in decays of polarized muons and tau leptons is discussed. Both the standard $V-A$ Fermi model and the general parameterization via Michel parameters are considered. Numerical importance of contributions suppressed by charged lepton mass ratio is underlined. Contribution of the second order QED correction is estimated in the leading logarithm approximation.
We investigate Lepton-Flavor Violating (LFV) decays of Higgs to muon-tau in the supersymmetric economical 3-3-1 (SUSYE331) model. In the presence of flavor mixing in sleptons {mu,tau} and large values of v/v', the ratio of Br(H -->tau^+mu^-)/Br(H -->tau^+tau^-) can reach to non-negligible values O(10^{-3}), as in many known SUSY models. We predict that for the Standard Model Higgs boson, the LHC may detect its decay to muon and tauon. We also investigate the asymmetry between left and right LFV values of corrections and prove that the LFV effects are dominated by the left FLV term, which is O(…
We put constraints on several products of R-parity violating lambda lambda' and lambda' lambda' type couplings from leptonic and semileptonic tau, B_d and B_s decays. Most of them are one to two orders of magnitude better than the existing bounds, and almost free from theoretical uncertainties. A significant improvement of these bounds can be made in high luminosity tau-charm or B factories.
We study the observability of the $\tautau$ decay mode of a Higgs boson produced in the $s$-channel at a muon collider. We find that the spin correlations of the $\tautau$ in $τ\to πν_τ, ρν_τ$ decays are discriminative between the Higgs boson signal and the Standard Model background. Observation of the predicted distinctive distribution can confirm the spin-0 nature of the Higgs resonance. The relative coupling strength of the Higgs boson to $b$ and $τ$ can also be experimentally determined.
In this paper we examine thoroughly the Higgs boson to mu tau decay via processes involving R parity violating couplings. By means of full one-loop diagrammatic calculations, we found that even if known experimental constraints, particularly including the stringent sub-eV neutrino mass bounds, give strong restrictions on some of the R parity violating parameters, the branching ratio could still achieve notable value in the admissible parameter space. Hence, the flavor violating leptonic decay is of interest to future experiments. We present here key results of our analysis. Based on the analys…
In this work we investigate the possibility to observe $C\!P$-violation in $η$ decays containing muons at the proposed REDTOP experiment. Employing the SMEFT to parametrize the new-physics $C\!P$-violating effects, we find that a single operator exists for which is possible to observe $C\!P$-violation at REDTOP in $η\toμ^+μ^-$ decays, while evading bounds from the neutron electric dipole moment and $D^-\toμ\barν$
Neutrino oscillation signals at muon storage rings can be faked by supersymmetric (SUSY) interactions in an R-parity violating scenario. We investigate the $τ$-appearance signals for both long-baseline and near-site experiments, and conclude that the latter is of great use in distinguishing between oscillation and SUSY effects. On the other hand, SUSY can cause a manifold increase in the event rate for wrong-sign muons at a long-baseline setting, thereby providing us with signatures of new physics.
Many models for physics beyond the Standard Model predict lepton-flavour violating decays of charged leptons at a level which may become observable very soon. In the present paper we investigate the decays of a Tau into three charged leptons in a generic way, based on effective-field-theory methods, where the relevant operators are classified according to their chirality structure. We work out the decay distributions and discuss phenomenological implications.
We study the prospects to detect at hadron colliders the Lepton Flavour Violating Higgs decay H --> tau mu, which can reach substantial branching fractions in several extensions of the SM. Among them, the generic two higgs doublet model can be taken as a representative case where B.R.(H --> tau mu) can reach values of order 10^-1-10^-2. Bounds on the LFV factor kappa_{tau mu} of order 0.8-1.7 can be derived at 95% c.l. at Tevatron Run-2 with 4 fb^-1 for m_H = 110-150 GeV.
We consider the sneutrino resonance reaction l^+ l^- -> sneutrino -> tau^+ tau^- in the MSSM without R-parity. We introduce new CP-violating and CP-conserving tau-spin asymmetries which are generated already at the tree-level if there is sneutrino - sneutrino-bar mixing and that are forbidden in the SM. It is remarkable that these spin asymmetries can reach ~75% around resonance for a sneutrino mass splitting of Δm ~ Γand ~10% for a splitting as low as Δm ~ 0.1Γ, where Γis the sneutrino width. We show that they are easily detectable already at LEP2 so long as the beam energy is within ~10 GeV …
We investigate a two Higgs doublet model with extra flavour depending $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry where $Z'$ boson interactions can explain the Atomki anomaly by choosing appropriate charge assignment for the SM fermions. For parameter region explaining the Atomki anomaly we obtain light scalar boson with $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV mass, and we explore scalar sector to search for allowed parameter space. We then discuss anomalous magnetic dipole moment of muon and lepton flavour violating processes induced by Yukawa couplings of our model.
A lepton-flavor violating (LFV) Z' boson may mimic some of the phenomena usually attributed to supersymmetric theories. Using a conservative model of LFV Z' bosons, the recent BNL E821 muon g-2 deviation allows for a LFV Z' interpretation with a boson mass up to 4.8 TeV while staying within limits set by muon conversion, mu -> e gamma, and mu -> eee. This model is immediately testable as one to twenty e^+e^- -> mu tau events are predicted for an analysis of the LEP II data. Future muon conversion experiments, MECO and PRIME, are demonstrated to have potential to probe very high boson masses wi…
We discuss the decay tau^- -> nu_tau pi^- pi^0 gamma in terms of a model with the correct low-energy structure and with the relevant resonance degress of freedom. The nontrivial radiative dynamics becomes visible for large photon momenta only. We use the model to calculate electromagnetic corrections for the two-pion contribution to hadronic vacuum polarization extracted from photon-inclusive two-pion decays. The corrections are insensitive to the details of the model and depend on the pion form factor only. Putting all relevant isospin violating corrections together, we obtain a shift Delta a…
In this work, we study the lepton number violating tau decays via two intermediate on-shell Majorana neutrinos $N_j$ into two charged pions, and a charged lepton $τ^{\pm} \to π^{\pm} N_j \to π^{\pm} π^{\pm} \ell^{\mp}$. We consider the scenario where the heavy neutrino masses are within $0.5$ GeV $\leq M_N \leq 1.5$ GeV. We evaluated the possibility to measure the modulation of the decay width along the detector length for these processes at taus factories, such as Belle II. We study some realistic conditions which could lead to the observation of this phenomenon at futures $τ$'s factories.
Lepton flavor violation in tau and mu processes is studied in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity. We consider various asymmetries defined in polarized tau and mu decays. Correlations among branching ratios and asymmetries are shown in the following lepton flavor violation processes: mu+ --> e+ gamma, mu+ --> e+ e+ e-, mu- A --> e- A (A = Al, Ti, Au and Pb), tau+ --> mu+ gamma, tau+ --> mu+ mu+ mu-, tau+ --> mu+ e+ e-, tau+ --> mu+ P (P = pi0, eta and eta'), tau+ --> mu+ V (V = rho0, omega and phi), tau+ --> e+ gamma, tau+ --> e+ e+ e-, tau+ --> e+ mu+ mu-, tau+ --> e+ P, tau+ --> e+ V, tau…
The calculational precision of $\ee\to\tautau$ and $\ee\to\mumu$ production cross-sections in electron-positron annihilations at \roots = 10.58 \gev are studied for the \kk Monte Carlo simulation program. We determine $σ(\ee\to\tautau) = (0.919 \pm 0.003) \nb$ and $σ(\ee\to\mumu) = (1.147 \pm 0.005) \nb$, where the error represents the precision of the calculation.
We study the one-loop induced muon number processes when the standard model is minimally extended to include a $\rm SU(2)$ singlet of a charged scalar $h^+$ and a neutral fermion $N$. We find that $μ\rightarrow e γ$ is more sensitive for the former model whereas $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei for the latter. Effects of a scalar leptoquark $y^{1/3}$ and a heavy vector fermion $E^-$, which induce tree level rare muon decays, are also discussed.
We calculate the leading isospin-violating and electromagnetic corrections for the decay tau -> pi^0 pi nu_tau at low energies. The corrections are small but relevant for the inclusion of tau decay data in the determination of hadronic vacuum polarization especially for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. We show that part of the systematic differences between the measured form factors in tau -> pi^0 pi nu_tau and e^+ e^- -> pi^+ pi^- is due to isospin violation .
In the two Higgs doublet model type III and in several other extensions of the Standard Model, there are no discrete symmetries that suppress flavor changing couplings at tree level. The experimental observation of the nu_mu -- nu_tau flavor oscillation may suggest the non-conservation of lepton number. This would lead to the decay of the type A^0/H^0 --> tau^{+/-} mu^{+/-}. We determine the present low energy limit on lepton flavor violating (LFV) couplings from the muon g-2 measurement and discuss the prospects for detecting lepton flavor violating decays at the TeVatron and at the Large Had…
We revisit the procedure for comparing the pi pi spectral function measured in tau decays to that obtained in e+e- annihilation. We re-examine the isospin-breaking corrections using new experimental and theoretical input, and find improved agreement between the tau- --> pi- pi0 nu_tau branching fraction measurement and its prediction using the isospin-breaking-corrected e+e- --> pi+pi- spectral function, though not resolving all discrepancies. We recompute the lowest order hadronic contributions to the muon g-2 using e+e- and tau data with the new corrections, and find a reduced difference bet…
We study lepton flavor violating (LFV) tau and B decays in models with heavy neutrinos to constrain the mixing matrix parameters U_{tau N}. We find that the best current constraints when the heavy neutrinos are purely left-handed come from LFV radiative tau decay modes. To obtain competitive constraints in LFV B decay it is necessary to probe b -> X_{s} tau^{\pm} e^{\mp} at the 10^{-7} level. When the heavy neutrinos have both left and right-handed couplings, the mixing parameters can be constrained by studying LFV B decay modes and LFV tau decay into three charged leptons. We find that the br…
We analyze the flavor violating muon decay $μ\rightarrow eχ$, where $χ$ is a massive gauge boson, with emphasis in the regime where $χ$ is ultralight. We first study this process from an effective field theory standpoint in terms of form factors. We then present two explicit models where $μ\rightarrow eχ$ is generated at tree level and at the one-loop level. We also comment on the prospects of observing the process $μ\rightarrow eχ$ in view of the current limits on $μ\rightarrow 3e$ from the SINDRUM collaboration.
Neutrino oscillation signals at muon storage rings (MSR) can be mimicked by Supersymmetric (SUSY) interactions in an R-parity violating scenario. We have investigated the $τ$-appearance signals for both long-baseline and near-site experiments, and concluded that the latter is of great use in distinguishing between oscillation and SUSY effects. On the other hand, SUSY can cause a manifold increase in the event rate for wrong-sign muons at a long-baseline setting, thereby providing us with signatures of new physics.
We consider L-violating Supersymmetric Models to explain the recent muon $g_μ -2$ deviation from the Standard Model. The order of trilinear L-violating couplings which we require also generate neutrino mass which is somewhat higher than expected unless one considers highly suppressed $L-R$ mixing of sfermions. However, without such fine tuning for sfermions it is possible to get appropriate muon $g_μ-2$ deviation as well as neutrino mass if one considers some horizontal symmetry for the lepton doublet. Our studies show that $g_μ -2$ deviation may not imply upper bound of about 500 GeV on masse…
Charged tau leptons emerging in a long baseline experiment with a muon storage ring and a far-away detector will positively establish neutrino oscillations. We study the conversion of $ν_μ$ ($\barν_μ$) and of $\barν_e$ ($ν_e$) to $ν_τ$ or $\barν_τ$ for neutrinos from a 20 GeV muon storage ring, within the strong mixing scheme and on the basis of the squared mass differences which are compatible with all reported neutrino anomalies, including the LSND data. In contrast to other solutions which ignore the Los Alamos anomaly, we find charged tau production rates which should be measurable in a re…
We discuss the problem of the small ratio of muon mass to tau mass in a class of seesaw models where maximal atmospheric neutrino mixing is enforced through a $μ$--$τ$ interchange symmetry. We introduce into those models an additional symmetry $T$ such that $m_μ= 0$ in the case of exact $T$ invariance. The symmetry $T$ may be softly broken in the Higgs potential, and one thus achieves $m_μ\ll m_τ$ in a technically natural way. We speculate on a wider applicability of this mechanism.
In this work we study the Lepton Flavour Violating semileptonic tau --> mu f0(980) decay within the context of SUSY-Seesaw Models, where the MSSM spectrum is extended by three right handed neutrinos and their SUSY partners, and where the seesaw mechanism is used to generate the neutrino masses. We estimate its decay rate when it proceeds via the Higgs mediated channel tau --> mu H* --> mu f0(980), where H refers to the CP-even MSSM Higgs bosons h^0 and H^0, and the Lepton Flavour Violating tau mu H vertex is radiatively generated via SUSY loops. In order to describe the f0(980) meson we follow…
The coherent muon-electron conversion rates in various nuclei are calculated for general lepton flavor violating interactions. We solve the Dirac equations numerically for the initial state muon and the final state electron in the Coulomb force, and perform the overlap integrals between the wave functions and the nucleon densities. The results indicate that the conversion branching ratio increases for a light nucleus up to the atomic number Z ~ 30, is largest for Z = 30 -- 60, and becomes smaller for a heavy nucleus with Z > (~ 60). We also discuss the uncertainty from the input proton and neu…
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), the muon electric dipole moment (EDM) and the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the $τ-$lepton, $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to 3μ$, in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with nonuniversal soft-supersymmetry breaking. We evaluate numerically the muon EDM and the branching ratios $B(τ\to μγ)$ and $B(τ\to 3μ)$, after taking into account the experimental constraints from the electron EDM and muon MDM. Upon imposition of the experimental limits on our theoretical predictions for the aforementioned branching ratios and …
Realistic predictions are made for the rates of lepton flavour violating Higgs boson decays, tau --> mu gamma, mu --> e gamma, Bs --> mu+mu-, Bs --> tau mu and tau --> 3mu, via a top-down analysis of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model(MSSM) constrained by SU(5) unification with right-handed Neutrinos and large tan beta. The third family neutrino Yukawa coupling is chosen to be of order 1, in this way our model bares a significant resemblance to supersymmetric SO(10). In this framework the large PMNS mixings result in potentially large lepton flavour violation. Our analysis predicts tau …
We calculate the leading isospin-violating and electromagnetic corrections for the decay tau --> pi^0 pi nu_tau at low energies. The corrections are small but relevant for the inclusion of tau decay data in the determination of hadronic vacuum polarization especially for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.
An analysis is made on bottom-tau Yukawa unification in supersymmetric (SUSY) SU(5) grand unified theory (GUT) in the framework of minimal supergravity, in which the parameter space is restricted by some experimental constraints including Br(b to s gamma) and muon g-2. The bottom-tau unification can be accommodated to the measured branching ratio Br(b to s gamma) if superparticle masses are relatively heavy and higgsino mass parameter μis negative. On the other hand, if we take the latest muon g-2 data to require positive SUSY contributions, then wrong-sign threshold corrections at SUSY scale …
We present a new class of constraints to the lepton-family number and R-parity violating couplings from muonium conversion, $μ^{-} + {_{22}^{48}} Ti \to e^{-} + {_{22}^{48}} Ti$, a class of tau decays, $τ\to l +$ (light meson) with $l= μor e$, and $J/ψ$ and $π^0$ decays into a lepton pair. We find that $μ^{-} + {_{22}^{48}} Ti \to e^- + {_{22}^{48}} Ti$ provides one of the strongest constraints along with $Δm_{K}, Δm_{B}$, $μ\to e γ$ and the neutrinoless double $β$ decay. Search for these lepton-family number violating (LFNV) decays forbidden in the standard model is clearly warranted in vario…
We investigate flavour violating decays of the long-lived lightest slepton and the tau lepton in the coannihilation region of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with a Seesaw mechanism to generate neutrino masses. We consider a situation where the mass difference between the lightest neutralino, as the Lightest Supersymmetric particle (LSP), and the lightest slepton, as the Next-to-LSP, is smaller than the mass of tau lepton. In this situation, the lifetime of the lightest slepton is very long and it is determined by lepton flavour violating (LFV) couplings because the slepton mainly co…
If a Z' gauge boson of a gauged L_mu - L_tau symmetry is very light, it is associated with a long-range leptonic force. In this case the particles in the Sun create via mixing of Z' with the Standard Model Z a flavor-dependent potential for muon neutrinos in terrestrial long-baseline experiments. The potential changes sign for anti-neutrinos and hence can lead to apparent differences in neutrino and anti-neutrino oscillations without introducing CP or CPT violation. This could for instance explain the recently found discrepancy in the survival probabilities of muon neutrinos and anti-neutrinos…
With just two R-parity violating couplings, $λ'_{223}$ and $λ'_{323}$, we correlate several channels, namely, $D_s \to \ell ν$ ($\ell = μ, τ$), $(g-2)_μ$, and some lepton flavor violating $τ$ decays. For $λ'_{223} = λ'_{323} \sim 0.3$ and for a common superpartner mass of 300 GeV, which explain the recently observed excesses in the above $D_s$ decay channels, we predict the following R-parity violating contributions: ${\rm Br} (τ\to μγ) \sim 4.5 \cdot 10^{-8}$, ${\rm Br} (τ\to μμμ) \sim 1.2 \cdot 10^{-8}$, ${\rm Br} (τ\to μη/η') \sim 4 \cdot 10^{-10}$, and $(g_μ-2)/2 \sim 4 \cdot 10^{-11}$. We…
We calculate the CP-violating electric and weak dipole form factors of the top quark and the tau lepton in models with scalar leptoquarks coupling only to the third generation of quarks and leptons. We obtain numerical values of the real and imaginary parts of these form factors at various energies for different values of leptoquark masses and couplings. The existing limits on the tau electric and weak dipole form factors allows us to put a limit on the masses and couplings of such leptoquarks and therefore on the top electric and weak dipole form factors. We also discuss constraints on the fo…
We analyze the most general dimension six effective Lagrangian, invariant under the flavour symmetry A4 x Z3 x U(1) proposed to reproduce the near tri-bimaximal lepton mixing observed in neutrino oscillations. The effective Lagrangian includes four-lepton operators that violate the individual lepton numbers in the limit of exact flavor symmetry and allow unsuppressed processes satisfying the rule |Delta L_e x Delta L_mu x Delta L_tau| = 2. The most stringent bounds on the strength of the new interactions come from the observed universality of leptonic muon and tau decays, from the agreement be…
The Majorana nature of neutrinos can be detected by the precise measurement of muon decay. This possibility comes from the presence of charged Higgs boson interaction for Majorana neutrinos. We study the effects of the neutrino Yukawa interaction via charged Higgs bosons in muon decay processes such as $μ\to eν\barν$ and $μ\to eγ$. The Higgs triplet model with small vacuum expectation value is of special importance whose neutrino Yukawa coupling can affect significantly muon decays. External neutrino lines in the Feynman diagrams of $μ\to eν\barν$ can be crossed because of its Majorana nature.…
The Extended Supersymmetric Standard Model (ESSM), motivated on several grounds, introduces two vectorlike families (16 + 16-bar) of SO(10)) with masses of order one TeV. It is noted that the successful predictions of prior work on fermion masses and mixings, based on MSSM embedded in SO(10), can be retained rather simply within the ESSM extension. These include an understanding of the smallness of V_{cb} ~ 0.04 and the largeness of nu_mu - nu_tau oscillation angle, sin^2 2 theta_{nu_mu nu_tau}^{osc} ~ 1. We analyze the new contributions arising through the exchange of the vectorlike families …
We investigate the production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in association with tau sleptons in the CP violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) at future high-energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ linear colliders. In parameter space of the constrained MSSM, the production cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\to h^0\widetildeτ^+_1\widetildeτ^-_1$ can be very substantial at high energies. This process would provide a new production mechanism of neutral Higgs bosons and open a window to probe the Higgs-stau coupling and some soft supersymmetric breaking parameters at next linear colliders.
We compute the lepton flavour violating couplings of Higgs bosons in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, and show that they can induce the decays (h,H,A) --> mu tau at non-negligible rates, for large tan(beta) and sizeable smuon-stau mixing. We also discuss the prospects for detecting such decays at LHC and other colliders, as well as the correlation with other flavour violating processes, such as tau --> mu gamma and tau --> 3 mu.
Radiative muon and tau lepton decays are described within the model-independent approach with the help of generalized Michel parameters. The exact dependence on charged lepton masses is taken into account. The results are relevant for modern and future experiments on muon and tau lepton decays.
