We study the distribution of resonances for discrete Hamiltonians of the form $H_0+V$ near the thresholds of the spectrum of $H_0$. Here, the unperturbed operator $H_0$ is a multichannel Laplace type operator on $\ell^2(\mathbb Z; \mathbb C^N) \cong \ell^2(\mathbb Z)\otimes \mathbb C^N$ and $V$ is a non-selfadjoint compact perturbation. We compute the exact number of resonances and give a precise description on their location in clusters around some special points in the complex plane.
We prove a Limiting Absorption Principle for Schr{ö}dinger operators in tubes about infinite curves embedded in the Euclidian space with different types of boundary conditions. The argument is based on the Mourre theory with conjugate operators different from the generator of dilations which is usually used in this case, and permits to prove a Limiting Absorption Principle for Schr{ö}dinger operators in singular waveguides.
We recall a Moure theory adapted to non self-adjoint operators and we apply this theory to Schr{ö}dinger operators with non real potentials, using different type of conjugate operators. We show that some conjugate operators permits to relax conditions on the derivatives of the potential that were required up to now.
We compute an explicit formula for the integrated density of states of the periodic Airy-Schr{ö}dinger operator on the real line. For this purpose, we study precisely the spectrum of the restriction of the periodic Airy-Schr{ö}dinger operator to a finite number of periods. We prove that all the eigenvalues of this restriction are in the spectral bands of the periodic Airy-Schr{ö}dinger operator and none of them are in its spectral gaps. We count exactly the number of eigenvalues in each of the spectral bands, this number being equal to the number of periods to which the periodic operator is re…
We improve the Lieb-Thirring type inequalities by Demuth, Hansmann and Katriel (J. Funct. Anal. 2009) for Schrödinger operators with complex-valued potentials. Our result involves a positive, integrable function. We show that in the one-dimensional case the result is sharp in the sense that if we take a non-integrable function, then an analogous inequality cannot hold.
In this work we study the inverse scattering problem for the selfadjoint matrix Schrodinger operator on the half line. We provide the necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the inverse scattering problem.
We prove exponential decay for a system of two Schr{ö}dinger equations in a wave guide, with coupling and damping at the boundary. This relies on the spectral analysis of the corresponding coupled Schr{ö}dinger operator on the one-dimensional cross section. We show in particular that we have a spectral gap and that the corresponding generalized eigenfunctions form a Riesz basis.
I review an information-theoretic variant of the quantum de Finetti theorem due to Brand{ã}o and Harrow and discuss its applications to the topic of bosonic mean-field limits. This leads to slightly improved methods for the derivation of the local non-linear Schr{ö}dinger energy functional from many-body quantum mechanics.
For bounded linear operators $A,B$ on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ we show the validity of the estimate $$ \sum_{λ\in σ_d (B)} \dist(λ, \overline{\num}(A))^p \leq \| B-A \|_{\mathcal{S}_p}^p$$ and apply it to recover and improve some Lieb-Thirring type inequalities for non-selfadjoint Jacobi and Schrödinger operators.
We prove the local energy decay and the smoothing effect for the damped Schr{ö}dinger equation on R^d. The self-adjoint part is a Laplacian associated to a long-range perturbation of the flat metric. The proofs are based on uniform resolvent estimates obtained by the dissipative Mourre method. All the results depend on the strength of the dissipation which we consider.
We prove low frequency resolvent estimates and local energy decay for the Schr{ö}dinger equation in an asymptotically Euclidean setting. More precisely, we go beyond the optimal estimates by comparing the resolvent of the perturbed Schr{ö}dinger operator with the resolvent of the free Laplacian. This gives the leading term for the developpement of this resolvent when the spectral parameter is close to 0. For this, we show in particular how we can apply the usual commutators method for generalized resolvents and simultaneously for different operators. Finally, we deduce similar results for the …
In this article, we prove the finiteness of the number of eigenvalues for a class of Schrödinger operators $H = -Δ+ V(x)$ with a complex-valued potential $V(x)$ on $\bR^n$, $n \ge 2$. If $\Im V$ is sufficiently small, $\Im V \le 0$ and $\Im V \neq 0$, we show that $N(V) = N(\Re V)+ k$, where $k$ is the multiplicity of the zero resonance of the selfadjoint operator $-Δ+ \Re V$ and $N(W)$ the number of eigenvalues of $-Δ+ W$, counted according to their algebraic multiplicity.

Let $H_0$ be a purely absolutely continuous selfadjoint operator acting on some separable infinite-dimensional Hilbert space and $V$ be a compact non-selfadjoint perturbation. We relate the regularity properties of $V$ to various spectral properties of the perturbed operator $H_0+V$. The structure of the discrete spectrum and the embedded eigenvalues are analysed jointly with the existence of limiting absorption principles in a unified framework. Our results are based on a suitable combination of complex scaling techniques, resonance theory and positive commutators methods. Various results sca…
In this paper we consider time dependent Schr{ö}dinger linear PDEs of the form i$\partial$t$ψ$ = L(t)$ψ$, where L(t) is a continuous family of self-adjoint operators. We give conditions for well-posedness and polynomial growth for the evolution in abstract Sobolev spaces. If L(t) = H + V (t) where V (t) is a perturbation smooth in time and H is a self-adjoint positive operator whose spectrum can be enclosed in spectral clusters whose distance is increasing, we prove that the Sobolev norms of the solution grow at most as t $ε$ when t $\rightarrow$ $\infty$, for any $ε$ \textgreater{} 0. If V (t…
The time local and global well-posedness for the Maxwell-Schr{ö}dinger equations is considered in Sobolev spaces in three spatial dimensions. The Strichartz estimates of Koch and Tzvetkov type are used for obtaining the solutions in the Sobolev spaces of low regularities. One of the main results is that the solutions exist time globally for large data.
The purpose of the present work is to establish decorrelation estimates at distinct energies for some random Schr{ö}dinger operator in dimension one. In particular, we establish the result for some random operators on the continuum with alloy-type potential without covering condition assumption. These results are used to give a description of the spectral statistics.
We determine the Schatten class for the compact resolvent of Dirichlet realizations, in unbounded domains, of a class of non-selfadjoint differential operators. This class consists of operators that can be obtained via analytic dilation from a Schrödinger operator with magnetic field and a complex electric potential. As an application, we prove, in a variety of examples motivated by Physics, that the system of generalized eigenfunctions associated with the operator is complete, or at least the existence of an infinite discrete spectrum.
The quantum nonlinear Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger(NLS) model with four-component fermions exhibits a $Y(so(5))$ symmetry when considered on an infintite interval. The constructed generators of Yangian are proved to satisfy the Drinfel'd formula and furthermore, the $RTT$ relation with the general form of rational R-matrix given by Yang-Baxterization associated with $so(5)$ algebraic structure.
We study the threshold behaviour of two dimensional Schr{\" o}dinger operators with finitely many local point interactions. We show that the resolvent can either be continuously extended up to the threshold, in which case we say that the operator is of regular type, or it has singularities associated with $s$ or p-wave resonances or even with an embedded eigenvalue at zero, for whose existence we give necessary and sufficient conditions. An embedded eigenvalue at zero may appear only if we have at least three centres. When the operator is of regular type we prove that the wave operators are bo…
The matrix Schroedinger equation with a selfadjoint matrix potential is considered on the half line with the general selfadjoint boundary condition at the origin. When the matrix potential is integrable, the high-energy asymptotics are established for the related Jost matrix, the inverse of the Jost matrix, and the scattering matrix. Under the additional assumption that the matrix potential has a first moment, Levinson's theorem is derived, relating the number of bound states to the change in the argument of the determinant of the scattering matrix.
We prove that if a solution of the time-dependent Schr{ö}dinger equation on an homogeneous tree with bounded potential decays fast at two distinct times then the solution is trivial. For the free Schr{ö}dinger operator, we use the spectral theory of the Laplacian and complex analysis and obtain a characterization of the initial conditions that lead to a sharp decay at any time. We then use the recent spectral decomposition of the Schr{ö}dinger operator with compactly supported potential due to Colin de Verdi{è}rre and Turc to extend our results in the presence of such potentials. Finally, we u…
How and why may an interacting system of many particles be described assuming that all particles are independent and identically distributed ? This question is at least as old as statistical mechanics itself. Its quantum version has been rejuvenated by the birth of cold atoms physics. In particular the experimental creation of Bose-Einstein condensates directly asks the following variant: why and how can a large assembly of very cold interacting bosons (quantum particles deprived of the Pauli exclusion principle) all populate the same quantum state ? In this text I review the various mathemati…
The matrix Schroedinger equation with a selfadjoint matrix potential is considered on the half line with the most general selfadjoint boundary condition at the origin. When the matrix potential is integrable and has a second moment, it is shown that the corresponding scattering matrix is differentiable at zero energy. An explicit formula is provided for the derivative of the scattering matrix at zero energy. The previously established results when the potential has only the first moment are improved when the second moment exists, by presenting the small-energy asymptotics for the related Jost …
The matrix Schroedinger equation with a selfadjoint matrix potential is considered on the half line with the most general selfadjoint boundary condition at the origin. When the matrix potential is integrable and has a first moment, it is shown that the corresponding scattering matrix is continuous at zero energy. An explicit formula is provided for the scattering matrix at zero energy. The small-energy asymptotics are established also for the corresponding Jost matrix, its inverse, and various other quantities relevant to the corresponding direct and inverse scattering problems.
We consider discrete Schr{ö}dinger operators on ${\mathbb{Z}}^d$ for which the perturbation consists of the sum of a long-range type potential and a Wigner-von Neumann type potential. Still working in a framework of weighted Mourre theory, we improve the limiting absorption principle (LAP) that was obtained in [Ma1]. To our knowledge, this is a new result even in the one-dimensional case. The improvement consists in a weakening of the assumptions on the long-range potential and better LAP weights. The improvement relies only on the fact that the generator of dilations (which serves as conjugat…
We consider a system described by a controlled bilinear Schr{ö}dinger equation with three external inputs. We provide a constructive method to approximately steer the system from a given energy level to a superposition of energy levels corresponding to a given probability distribution. The method is based on adiabatic techniques and works if the spectrum of the Hamiltonian admits eigenvalue intersections, with respect to variations of the controls, and if the latter are conical. We provide sharp estimates of the relation between the error and the controllability time, and we show how to improv…
We investigate a method to solve a class of Schr{ö}dinger equation eigenvalue problems numerically to very high precision $P$ (from thousands to a million of decimals). The memory requirement, and the number of high precision algebraic operations, of the method scale essentially linearly with $P$ when only eigenvalues are computed. However, since the algorithms for multiplying high precision numbers scale at a rate between $P^{1.6}$ and $P\,\log P\,\log\log P$, the time requirement of our method increases somewhat faster than $P^2$.
In this paper, we study weight representations over the Schr{ö}dinger Lie algebra $\mathfrak{s}_n$ for any positive integer $n$. It turns out that the algebra $\mathfrak{s}_n$ can be realized by polynomial differential operators. Using this realization, we give a complete classification of irreducible weight $\mathfrak{s}_n$-modules with finite dimensional weight spaces for any $n$. All such modules can be clearly characterized by the tensor product of $\mathfrak{so}_n$-modules, $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-modules and modules over the Weyl algebra.
The \SN (SN) equation is recast on purely geometrical grounds, namely in terms of Bargmann structures over $(\d+1)$-dimensional Newton-Cartan (NC) spacetimes. Its maximal group of invariance, which we call the SN group, is determined as the group of conformal Bargmann automorphisms that preserve the coupled Schrödinger and NC gravitational field equations. Canonical unitary representations of the SN group are worked out, helping us recover, in particular, a very specific occurrence of dilations with dynamical exponent $z=(\d+2)/3$.
