We report first constraints on neutrino electromagnetic properties from neutrino-electron scattering using data obtained from the CONUS germanium detectors, i.e. an upper limit on the effective neutrino magnetic moment and an upper limit on the effective neutrino millicharge. The electron antineutrinos are emitted from the 3.9 GW$_\mathrm{th}$ reactor core of the Brokdorf nuclear power plant in Germany. The CONUS low background detectors are positioned at 17.1 m distance from the reactor core center. The analyzed data set includes 689.1 kg$\cdot$d collected during reactor ON periods and 131.0 kg$\cdot$d collected during reactor OFF periods in the energy range of 2 to 8 keV$_{ee}$. With the current statistics, we are able to determine an upper limit on the effective neutrino magnetic moment $μ_ν< 7.5\cdot10^{-11}\,μ_B$ at 90% confidence level. From this first magnetic moment limit we can derive an upper bound on the neutrino millicharge of $\vert q_ν\vert < 3.3\cdot10^{-12}\,e_0$.
The measurements of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE$ν$NS) experiments have opened up the possibility to constrain neutrino physics beyond the standard model of elementary particle physics. Furthermore, by considering neutrino-electron scattering in the keV-energy region, it is possible to set additional limits on new physics processes. Here, we present constraints that are derived from CONUS germanium data on beyond the standard model (BSM) processes like tensor and vector non-standard interactions (NSIs) in the neutrino-quark sector, as well as light vector and scalar mediato…
We report the best limit on coherent elastic scattering of electron antineutrinos emitted from a nuclear reactor off germanium nuclei. The measurement was performed with the CONUS detectors positioned at 17.1m from the 3.9GWth reactor core of the nuclear power plant in Brokdorf, Germany. The antineutrino energies of less than 10 MeV assure interactions in the fully coherent regime. The analyzed dataset includes 248.7 kgd with the reactor turned on and background data of 58.8 kgd with the reactor off. With a quenching parameter of k = 0.18 for germanium, we determined an upper limit on the numb…

The detection of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE$ν$NS) opens new possibilities for neutrino physics within and beyond the Standard Model. Following the initial discovery in 2017, several experimental attempts have emerged allowing this reaction channel to be studied with the full repertoire of modern detection technologies. As one of several reactor experiments, CONUS aims for an observation with antineutrinos emitted from the powerful $3.9$ GW$_{th}$ reactor of the nuclear power plant in Brokdorf (Germany). In particular, the application of ultra-low threshold, high-purity ge…

We derive new limits on the neutrino electromagnetic interactions and weakly coupled light vector and scalar mediators using the recent XENONnT data of the solar neutrino-electron elastic scattering. XENONnT has already reported the world's best constraint on the flavor-independent effective neutrino magnetic moment with almost twice the exposure and improved systematics. We extend this analysis and derive constraints on all the possible electromagnetic interactions and flavor universal light gauge boson couplings and masses, which could contribute to the neutrino-electron elastic scattering p…

We analyze new data from the COHERENT experiment of the coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering to investigate the electromagnetic interactions of neutrinos. With almost double the statistics and precision now, the statistical significance of the observed process has now enhanced to 11.6$σ$. We derive constraints on the electromagnetic properties of neutrinos using the new COHERENT data. The constraints improve by more than a factor of two compared to the previous bounds. Furthermore, we discuss the unique behavior of the neutrino millicharge at lower energy recoils and show its unique dependence…
Recently, evidence for the observation of about 2 keV and below nuclear recoils from the coherent scattering of reactor anti-neutrinos off the germanium nuclei has been reported. We analyze the observed data to estimate the value of the weak mixing angle and constrain the neutrino millicharge, magnetic moment, charge radius and anapole moment contributing to the coherent scattering process. Currently, there is no definite model available for the quenching factor at such low energies. To this end, we consider various models of the quenching factor and show how it affects the interpretation of t…
We report new values of weak-mixing angle ($\sin ^{2}θ_{W}$)$,$ neutrino effective magnetic moment and the charge radius using the lowest-energy (to-date) solar neutrino data of pp, $^{7}$Be and pep spectra from phase-I and phase-II runs of Borexino experiment. The best-fit values are $\sin ^{2}θ_{W}=$0.235$\pm $0.019 with a precision comparable to that of the combined reactor and accelerator very short-baseline experiments and $μ_{ν}^{eff}\leq 8.7\times 10^{-12}μ_{B}$ at 90% C.L. with a factor of 3 improvement than the previous bounds. This leads to the improvement of all the related magnetic…

We consider the effects of bound atomic electrons scattered by solar neutrinos due to the electromagnetic properties of neutrinos. This necessiate considering the recoil of atomic nucleus, which should be considered in the momentum conservation, but that effect to the energy conservation is negligible. This effect changes the kinematic behavior of the scattered electron compared to that scattered on free electrons. We apply this effect to the recent XENON1T data, but the bounds obtained from this is not very restrictive. We obtained the bounds: the (transition) magnetic moment $|f_{αβ}|\le 0.8…
Coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE$ν$NS) represents a powerful tool to investigate key electroweak physics parameters and neutrino properties since its first observation in 2017 by the COHERENT experiment exploiting the spallation neutron source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In light of the recent detection of such a process with antineutrinos produced by the Dresden-II reactor scattering off a germanium detector, we revisit the limits so far set on the neutrino magnetic moments, charge radii and millicharges as well as on the weak mixing angle. In order to do so, we also inc…
Next-generation xenon detectors with multi-ton-year exposure are powerful direct probes of dark matter candidates, in particular the favorite weakly-interacting massive particles. Coupled with the features of low thresholds and backgrounds, they are also excellent telescopes of solar neutrinos. In this paper, we study the discovery potential of ton-scale xenon detectors in electromagnetic moments of solar neutrinos. Relevant neutrino-atom scattering processes are calculated by applying a state-of-the-arts atomic many-body method--relativistic random phase approximation (RRPA). Limits on these …
