The IllustrisTNG simulations reproduce the observed scaling relation between stellar specific angular momentum (sAM) $j_{\rm s}$ and mass $M_{\rm s}$ of central galaxies. We show that the local $j_{\rm s}$-$M_{\rm s}$ relation ${\rm log}\ j_{\rm s} = 0.55 \ {\rm log}\ M_{\rm s} + 2.77$ develops at $z\lesssim 1$ in disk-dominated galaxies. We provide a simple model that describes well such a connection between halos and galaxies. The index 0.55 of the $j_{\rm s}$-$M_{\rm s}$ relation comes from the product of the indices of the $j_{\rm tot}\propto M_{\rm tot}^{0.81}$, $M_{\rm tot}\propto M_{\rm s}^{0.67}$, and $j_{\rm s}\propto j_{\rm tot}$ relations, where $j_{\rm tot}$ and $M_{\rm tot}$ are overall sAM and mass of a halo. A non-negligible deviation from the tidal torque theory, which predicts $j_{\rm tot}\propto M_{\rm tot}^{2/3}$, should be included. This model further suggests that the stellar-to-halo mass ratio of disk galaxies increases monotonically following a nearly power-law function that is consistent with the latest dynamical measurements. Biased collapse, in which galaxies form from the inner and lower sAM portion of their parent halos, has a minor effect at low redshifts. The retention factor of angular momentum reaches $\sim 1$ in disk galaxies with strong rotations, and it correlates inversely with the mass fraction of the spheroidal component, which partially explains the morphological dependence of the $j_{\rm s}$-$M_{\rm s}$ relation.
We use a sample of 559 disc galaxies extracted from the eXtended GALEX Arecibo SDSS Survey (xGASS) to study the connection between baryonic angular momentum, mass and atomic gas fraction in the local Universe. Baryonic angular momenta are determined by combining HI and H$_{2}$ integrated profiles with two-dimensional stellar mass surface density profiles. In line with previous work, we confirm that specific angular momentum and atomic gas fraction are tightly correlated, but we find a larger scatter than previously observed. This is most likely due to the wider range of galaxy properties cover…
Both Galactic and extragalactic studies on star formation suggest that stars form directly from dense molecular gas. To trace such high volume density gas, HCN and HCO+ J=1-0 have been widely used for their high dipole moments, relatively high abundances, and often being the strongest lines after CO. However, HCN and HCO+ J=1-0 emission could be arguably dominated by the gas components at low volume densities. HCN J=2-1 and HCO+ J=2-1, with more suitable critical densities and excitation requirements, would trace typical dense gas closely related to star formation. Here we report new observati…
We use the second Gaia data release (Gaia DR2), combined with RAVE spectroscopic surveys, to identify the substructures in the nearby stellar halo. We select 3,845 halo stars kinematically and chemically, and determine their density distribution in energy and angular momentum space. To select the substructures from overdensities, we reshuffle the velocities and estimate their significance. Two statistically significant substructures, GR-1 and GR-2, are identified. GR-1 has a high binding energy and small $z$-angular momentum. GR-2 is metal-rich but retrograde. They are both new substructure, a…
This paper investigates the relationship between specific baryon angular momentum $j_\mathrm{b}$ and baryon mass $M_\mathrm{b}$ for a sample of nearby late-type galaxies with resolved HI kinematics. This work roughly doubles the number of galaxies with $M_\mathrm{b} \lesssim 10^{10}$ $M_{\odot}$ used to study the $j_\mathrm{b} - M_\mathrm{b}$ relation. Most of the galaxies in the sample have their baryon mass dominated by their gas content, thereby offering $j_\mathrm{b}$ and Mb measures that are relatively unaffected by uncertainties arising from the stellar mass-to-light ratio. Measured HI s…
We present single-dish CO(1-0) and CO(2-1) observations for 14 low-redshift quasi-stellar objects (QSOs). In combination with optical integral field spectroscopy we study how the cold gas content relates to the star formation rate (SFR) and black hole accretion rate. CO(1-0) is detected in 8 of 14 targets and CO(2-1) is detected in 7 out of 11 cases. The majority of disc-dominated QSOs reveal gas fractions and depletion times well matching normal star forming systems. Two gas-rich major mergers show clear starburst signatures with higher than average gas fractions and shorter depletion times. …
We study the Kennicutt-Schmidt relation between average star formation rate and average cold gas surface density in the Hi dominated ISM of nearby spiral and dwarf irregular galaxies. We divide the galaxies into grid cells varying from sub-kpc to tens of kpc in size. Grid-cell measurements of low SFRs using H-alpha emission can be biased and scatter may be introduced because of non-uniform sampling of the IMF or because of stochastically varying star formation. In order to alleviate these issues, we use far-ultraviolet emission to trace SFR, and we sum up the fluxes from different bins with th…
We report Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT) continuum observations of six nearby normal galaxies at 333 MHz. The galaxies are observed with angular resolutions better than ~20" (corresponding to a linear scale of about 0.4 - 1 kpc). These observations are sensitive to all the angular scales of interest, since the resolution of the shortest baseline in GMRT is greater than the angular size of the galaxies. Further, for five of these galaxies we show that at 333 MHz, the mean thermal fraction is less than 5%. Using archival data at about 1 GHz, we estimate the mean thermal fraction to be ab…
We present a detailed study of the stellar mass vs. specific angular momentum (AM) relation (Fall relation) for a representative sample of 564 nearby galaxies in the eXtended GALEX Arecibo SDSS Survey (xGASS). We focus on the dependence of the Fall relation's slope on galaxy type and the galaxy properties regulating its scatter. Stellar specific AM is determined by combining single-dish H{\sc i} velocity widths and stellar mass profiles for all H{\sc i} detections in the xGASS sample. At fixed morphology (or bulge-to-total ratio), we find that the power law slope of the Fall relation is consis…
We analyze the velocity dispersions of individual HI and CO profiles in a number of nearby galaxies from the high-resolution HERACLES CO and THINGS HI surveys. Focusing on regions with bright CO emission, we find a CO dispersion value: 7.3 $\pm$ 1.7 km/s. The corresponding HI dispersion is 11.7 $\pm$ 2.3 km/s, yielding a mean HI/CO dispersion ratio of 1.4 $\pm$ 0.2, independent of radius. We find that the CO velocity dispersion increases towards lower peak fluxes. This is consistent with previous work where we showed that when using spectra averaged ("stacked") over large areas, larger values …
The stellar surface density within the inner 1 kpc ($Σ_{1}$) has become a popular tool for understanding the growth of galaxies and its connection with the quenching of star formation. The emerging picture suggests that building a central dense core is a necessary condition for quenching. However, it is not clear whether changes in $Σ_{1}$ trace changes in stellar kinematics and the growth of dispersion-dominated bulges. In this paper, we combine imaging from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey with stellar kinematics from the Sydney-AAO Multi-object Integral-field unit (SAMI) and Mapping Nearby Gala…
We describe an archival project using Cycle 0 data from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submilleter Array to survey the CO/CN line ratio in 17 nearby galaxies. CN is an interesting molecule that traces dense gas exposed to ultraviolet radiation and its N=1-0 lines can be observed simultaneously with the CO J=1-0 line. We identify 8 galaxies with distances < 200 Mpc for which both lines are detected. Signal-to-noise matched CO/CN ratios range from as low as 7 to as high as 65, while ratios using the total detected flux range from 20 to 140. Spatial variations greater than a factor of 3 are seen in…
In the last decades, much effort has been put into finding the star formation law which could unequivocally link the gas and the star formation rate (SFR) densities measured on sub-kiloparsec scale in star-forming galaxies. The conventional approach of using the observed surface densities to infer star formation laws has however revealed a major and well-known issue, as such relations are valid for the high-density regions of galaxies but break down in low-density and HI-dominated environments. Recently, an empirical correlation between the total gas (HI+H$_2$) and the star formation rate (SFR…
We have compiled a new multiwavelength spectral energy distribution (SED) for the closest obscured low-ionization emission-line region active galactic nucleus (AGN), NGC 4736, also known as M94. The SED comprises mainly high-resolution (mostly sub-arcsecond, or, at the distance to M94, <23 pc from the nucleus) observations from the literature, archival data, as well as previously unpublished sub-millimetre data from the Plateau de Bure Interferometer (PdBI) and the Combined Array for Research in Millimeter-wave Astronomy, in conjunction with new electronic MultiElement Radio Interferometric Ne…
The 12CO J=4-3 to J=13-12 lines of the interstellar medium from nearby galaxies, newly observable with the Herschel SPIRE Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS), offer an opportunity to study warmer, more luminous molecular gas than that traced by 12CO J=1-0. Here we present a survey of 17 nearby infrared-luminous galaxy systems (21 pointings). In addition to photometric modeling of dust, we modeled full 12CO spectral line energy distributions from J=1-0 to J=13-12 with two components of warm and cool CO gas, and included LTE analysis of [CI], [CII], [NII] and H2 lines. CO is emitted from a low-…
We have observed seven nearby large angular sized galaxies at 0.33 GHz using GMRT with angular resolution of $\sim10''$ and sub-mJy sensitivity. Using archival higher frequency data at 1.4 or $\sim$6 GHz, we have then determined their spatially resolved non-thermal spectrum. As a general trend, we find that the spectral indices are comparatively flat at the galaxy centres and gradually steepen with increasing galactocentric distances. Using archival far infrared (FIR) MIPS 70 $μ m$ data, we estimate the exponent of radio-FIR correlation. One of the galaxy (NGC 4826) was found to have an expone…

We use the IRAM HERACLES survey to study CO emission from 33 nearby spiral galaxies down to very low intensities. Using atomic hydrogen (HI) data, mostly from THINGS, we predict the local mean CO velocity from the mean HI velocity. By renormalizing the CO velocity axis so that zero corresponds to the local mean HI velocity we are able to stack spectra coherently over large regions as function of radius. This enables us to measure CO intensities with high significance as low as Ico = 0.3 K km/s (H2_SD = 1 Msun/pc2), an improvement of about one order of magnitude over previous studies. We detect…
We used narrowband interference filters with the CCD imaging camera on the Nickel 1.0 meter telescope at Lick Observatory to observe 31 nearby (z < 0.03) Seyfert galaxies in the 12 μm Active Galaxy Sample. We obtained pure emission line images of each galaxy in order to separate Hα emission from the nucleus from that of the host galaxy. The extended Hα emission is expected to be powered by newly formed hot stars, and correlates well with other indicators of current star formation in these galaxies: 7.7 μm PAH, far-infrared, and radio luminosity. Relative to what would be expected from recent s…
The circumgalactic medium (CGM), which harbors > 50% of all the baryons in a galaxy, is both the reservoir of gas for subsequent star formation and the depository of chemically processed gas, energy, and angular momentum from feedback. As such, the CGM obviously plays a critical role in galaxy evolution. We discuss the opportunity to image this component using recombination line emission, beginning with the early results coming from recent statistical detection of this emission to the final goal of realizing spectral-line images of the CGM in individual nearby galaxies. Such work will happen i…
Gravitational 3-body interaction among binary stars and the supermassive black hole (SMBH) at the center of the Milky Way occasionally ejects a hypervelocity star (HVS) with a velocity of ~1000 km/s. Due to the ejection location, such a HVS initially has negligible azimuthal angular momentum Lz ~ 0 kpc km/s. Even if the halo is mildly triaxial, Lz of a recently ejected nearby HVS remains negligible, since its flight time from the Galactic Center is too short to accumulate noticeable torque. However, if we make a wrong assumption about the Solar position and velocity, such a HVS would apparentl…

The total specific angular momentum j of a galaxy disk is matched with that of its dark matter halo, but the distributions are different, in that there is a lack of both low- and high-j baryons with respect to the CDM predictions. I illustrate how the probability density function PDF(j/j_mean) can inform us of a galaxy's morphology and evolutionary history with a spanning set of examples from present-day galaxies and a galaxy at z~1.5. The shape of PDF(j/j_mean) is correlated with photometric morphology, with disk-dominated galaxies having more symmetric PDF(j/j_mean) and bulge-dominated galax…
We investigate the triggering mechanism and the structural properties of obscured luminous active galactic nuclei from a detailed study of the rest-frame $B$ and $I$ HST images of 29 nearby ($z\approx 0.04-0.4$) optically selected type 2 quasars. Morphological classification reveals that only a minority (34%) of the hosts are mergers or interacting galaxies. More than half (55%) of the hosts contain regular disks, and a substantial fraction (38%), in fact, are disk-dominated ($B/T\lesssim 0.2$) late-type galaxies with low Sersic indices ($n < 2$), which is characteristic of pseudo bulges. The …
Data from the revised Geneva--Copenhagen catalog are used to study the influence of radial migration of stars on the age dependences of parameters of the velocity ellipsoids for nearby stars in the thin disk of the Galaxy, assuming that the mean radii of the stellar orbits remain constant. It is demonstrated that precisely the radial migration of stars, together with the negative metallicity gradient in the thin disk, are responsible for the observed negative correlation between the metallicities and angular momenta of nearby stars, while the angular momenta of stars that were born at the same …
The PHANGS program is building the first dataset to enable the multi-phase, multi-scale study of star formation across the nearby spiral galaxy population. This effort is enabled by large survey programs with ALMA, VLT/MUSE, and HST, with which we have obtained CO(2-1) imaging, optical spectroscopic mapping, and high resolution UV-optical imaging, respectively. Here, we present PHANGS-HST, which has obtained five band NUV-U-B-V-I imaging of the disks of 38 spiral galaxies at distances of 4-23 Mpc, and parallel V and I band imaging of their halos, to provide a census of tens of thousands of com…
Integral-field spectroscopy in the near-infrared (NIR) is a powerful tool to analyze the gaseous and stellar distributions and kinematics, as well as the excitation mechanisms in the centers of galaxies. The unique combination of NIR and sub-mm data at comparable high angular resolution, which has just been possible with SINFONI and ALMA, allows to trace warm and cold gas reservoirs. Only the NIR gives an unobscured view to the center and allows to study the conditions and impact of star formation in the centers of galaxies in a spatially resolved way. Here, we present recent studies of nearby…
In the wide-field Panoramic Imaging Survey of Centaurus and Sculptor (PISCeS), we investigate the resolved stellar halos of two nearby galaxies (the elliptical Centaurus A and the spiral Sculptor, D $\sim3.7$ Mpc) out to a projected galactocentric radius of 150 kpc with Magellan/Megacam. The survey has led to the discovery of $\sim$20 faint satellites to date, plus prominent streams and substructures in two environments that are substantially different from the Local Group, i.e. the Centaurus A group dominated by an elliptical and the loose Sculptor group of galaxies. These discoveries clearly…
The SKA will be a transformational instrument in the study of our local Universe. In particular, by virtue of its high sensitivity (both to point sources and diffuse low surface brightness emission), angular resolution and the frequency ranges covered, the SKA will undertake a very wide range of astrophysical research in the field of nearby galaxies. By surveying vast numbers of nearby galaxies of all types with $μ$Jy sensitivity and sub-arcsecond angular resolutions at radio wavelengths, the SKA will provide the cornerstone of our understanding of star-formation and accretion activity in the …
(Aims) In this work, we predict the far-infrared polarisation signal emitted by non-spherical dust grains in nearby galaxies. We determine the angular resolution and sensitivity required to study the magnetic field configuration in these galaxies. (Methods) We post-process a set of Milky Way like galaxies from the Auriga project, assuming a dust mix consisting of spheroidal dust grains that are partially aligned with the model magnetic field. We constrain our dust model using Planck 353 GHz observations of the Milky Way. This model is then extrapolated to shorter wavelengths that cover the pea…
Hyperaccretion occurs when the gas inflow rate onto a black hole (BH) is so high that the radiative feedback cannot reverse the accretion flow. This extreme process is a promising mechanism for the rapid growth of seed BHs in the early universe, which can explain high-redshift quasars powered by billion solar mass BHs. In theoretical models, spherical symmetry is commonly adopted for hyperaccretion flows; however, the sustainability of such structures on timescales corresponding to the BH growth has not been addressed yet. Here we show that stochastic interactions between the ionizing radiatio…
We investigate the rotation velocity of the first stars by modelling the angular momentum transfer in the primordial accretion disc.Assessing the impact of magnetic braking, we consider the transition in angular momentum transport mode at the Alfv$\acute{\rm e}$n radius, from the dynamically dominated free-fall accretion to the magnetically dominated solid-body one.The accreting protostar at the centre of the primordial star-forming cloud rotates with close to breakup speed in the case without magnetic fields.Considering a physically-motivated model for small-scale turbulent dynamo amplificati…
The PHANGS collaboration has been building a reference dataset for the multi-scale, multi-phase study of star formation and the interstellar medium in nearby galaxies. With the successful launch and commissioning of JWST, we can now obtain high-resolution infrared imaging to probe the youngest stellar populations and dust emission on the scales of star clusters and molecular clouds ($\sim$5-50 pc). In Cycle 1, PHANGS is conducting an 8-band imaging survey from 2-21$μ$m of 19 nearby spiral galaxies. CO(2-1) mapping, optical integral field spectroscopy, and UV-optical imaging for all 19 galaxies…
We present spatially resolved BPT mapping of the extended narrow line regions (ENLRs) of seven nearby Seyfert 2 galaxies, using HST narrow band filter imaging. We construct the BPT diagrams using $\leq$ 0.1" resolution emission line images of [O III]$λ$5007, H$α$, [S II]$λ$$λ$6717,6731, and H$β$. By mapping these diagnostic lines according to the BPT classification, we dissect the ENLR into Seyfert, LINER, and star-forming regions. The nucleus and ionization cones are dominated by Seyfert-type emission, which can be interpreted as predominantly photoionization by the active galactic nucleus (A…
We study for the first time the complete sub-millimeter spectra (450 GHz to 1550 GHz) of a sample of nearby active galaxies observed with the SPIRE Fourier Transform Spectrometer (SPIRE/FTS) onboard Herschel. The CO ladder (from Jup = 4 to 12) is the most prominent spectral feature in this range. These CO lines probe warm molecular gas that can be heated by ultraviolet photons, shocks, or X-rays originated in the active galactic nucleus or in young star-forming regions. In these proceedings we investigate the physical origin of the CO emission using the averaged CO spectral line energy distrib…
We present the results of our ALMA Cycle 0 observations, using HCN/HCO+/HNC J=4-3 lines, of six nearby luminous infrared galaxies with various energetic contributions from active galactic nuclei (AGNs) estimated from previous infrared spectroscopy. These lines are very effective for probing the physical properties of high-density molecular gas around the hidden energy sources in the nuclear regions of these galaxies. We find that HCN to HCO+ J=4-3 flux ratios tend to be higher in AGN-important galaxies than in starburst-dominated regions, as was seen at the J=1-0 transition, while there is no …
We present a study of the evolution of brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) in a sample of clusters at $0.05 \leq z<0.35$ from the SDSS and WISE with halo masses in the range $6 \times 10^{13}M_\odot$ (massive groups) - $10^{15.5}M_\odot$ (Coma-like clusters). We analyse optical and infrared colours and stellar masses of BCGs as a function of the mass of their host haloes. We find that BCGs are mostly red and quiescent galaxies and that a minority ($\sim 9$\%) of them are star-forming. We find that the optical $g-r$ colours are consistent with those of red sequence galaxies at the same redshifts;…
[abridged] We present optical integral field spectroscopy for a flux-limited sample of 19 QSOs at z<0.2 and spatially resolve their ionized gas properties at a physical resolution of 2-5kpc. The extended narrow line regions (ENLRs), photoionized by the radiation of AGN, have sizes of up to several kpc and correlate more strongly with the QSO continuum luminosity than with the integrated [OIII] luminosity. We find a relation of the form log(r)~(0.46+-0.04)log(L_5100), reinforcing the picture of an approximately constant ionization parameter for the ionized clouds across the ENLR. Besides the EN…
We used the IRAM 30m telescope to observe the frequency range [86-116]GHz towards the central regions of the starburst galaxies M83, M82, and NGC253, the AGNs M51, NGC1068, and NGC7469, and the ULIRGs Arp220 and Mrk231. Assuming LTE conditions, we calculated the column densities of 27 molecules and 10 isotopologues. Among others, we report the first tentative detections of CH3CHO, HNCO, and NS in M82 and, for the first time in the extragalactic medium, HC5N in NGC253. Halpha recombination lines were only found in M82 and NGC253. Vibrationally excited lines of HC3N were only detected in Arp220.…
We investigate the relationship between CN N = 1 - 0 and HCN J = 1 - 0 emission on scales from 30 pc to 400 pc using ALMA archival data, for which CN is often observed simultaneously with the CO J = 1 - 0 line. In a sample of 9 nearby galaxies ranging from ultra-luminous infrared galaxies to normal spiral galaxies, we measure a remarkably constant CN/HCN line intensity ratio of 0.86 $\pm$ 0.07 (standard deviation of 0.20). This relatively constant CN/HCN line ratio is rather unexpected, as models of photon dominated regions have suggested that HCN emission traces shielded regions with high col…
The properties and star formation processes in the far-outer disks of nearby spiral and dwarf irregular galaxies are reviewed. The origin and structure of the generally exponential profiles in stellar disks is considered to result from cosmological infall combined with a non-linear star formation law and a history of stellar migration and scattering from spirals, bars, and random collisions with interstellar clouds. In both spirals and dwarfs, the far-outer disks tend to be older, redder and thicker than the inner disks, with the overall radial profiles suggesting inside-out star formation plu…
We model the intensity of emission lines from the CO molecule, based on hydrodynamic simulations of spirals, mergers, and high-redshift galaxies with very high resolutions (3pc and 10^3 Msun) and detailed models for the phase-space structure of the interstellar gas including shock heating, stellar feedback processes and galactic winds. The simulations are analyzed with a Large Velocity Gradient (LVG) model to compute the local emission in various molecular lines in each resolution element, radiation transfer and opacity effects, and the intensity emerging from galaxies, to generate synthetic s…
Sun-like stars are promising candidates to host exoplanets and are often included in exoplanet surveys by radial velocity (RV) and direct imaging. In this paper we report on the detection of a stellar companion to the nearby solar-analogue star HD 104304, which previously was considered to host a planetary mass or brown dwarf companion. We searched for close stellar and substellar companions around extrasolar planet host stars with high angular resolution imaging to characterize planet formation environments. The detection of the stellar companion was achieved by high angular resolution measur…
We re-examine a series of archived centimetre radio-continuum observations (lambda=16, 6 and 3 cm) focusing on NGC7793 using the Australia Telescope Compact Array. These new images are both very sensitive (rms=0.011 mJy/beam) and feature reasonably high angular resolution (down to < 3"). Using these images, a total of 76 discrete radio sources are identified, of which 57 have been classified. We also studied the radio component of the micro-quasar NGC7793-S26 which shows two distinct regions of somewhat steep spectral index between -0.3 and -0.7.
Measurements of the Galactic synchrotron emission is relevant for the 21-cm studies from the Epoch of Reionization. The study of the synchrotron emission is also useful to quantify the fluctuations in the magnetic field and the cosmic ray electron density of the turbulent interstellar medium (ISM) of our Galaxy. Here, we present the all-sky angular power spectrum $(C_{\ell})$ measurements of the diffuse synchrotron emission using the TIFR GMRT Sky Survey (TGSS) at 150 {\rm MHz}. We estimate $C_{\ell}$ using visibility data both before and after subtracting the modelled point sources. The ampli…
We present dynamical measurements for 586 H-alpha detected star-forming galaxies from the KMOS (K-band Multi-Object Spectrograph) Redshift One Spectroscopic Survey (KROSS). The sample represents typical star-forming galaxies at this redshift (z=0.6-1.0), with a median star formation rate of ~7 Msol/yr and a stellar mass range of log[M/Msol]~9-11. We find that the rotation velocity-stellar mass relationship (the inverse of the Tully-Fisher relationship) for our rotationally-dominated sources (v/sigma>1) has a consistent slope and normalisation as that observed for z=0 disks. In contrast, the sp…
We derive spin-dominated waveforms (SDW) for binary systems composed of spinning black holes with unequal masses (less than 1:30). Such systems could be formed by an astrophysical black hole with a smaller black hole or a neutron star companion; and typically arise for supermassive black hole encounters. SDW characterize the last stages of the inspiral, when the larger spin dominates over the orbital angular momentum (while the spin of the smaller companion can be neglected). They emerge as a double expansion in the post-Newtonian parameter $\varepsilon$ and the ratio $ξ$ of the orbital angula…
We present new observational results that conclude that the nearby radio galaxy B2 0722+30 is one of the very few known disc galaxies in the low-redshift Universe that host a classical double-lobed radio source. In this paper we use HI observations, deep optical imaging, stellar population synthesis modelling and emission-line diagnostics to study the host galaxy, classify the Active Galactic Nucleus and investigate environmental properties under which a radio-loud AGN can occur in this system. Typical for spiral galaxies, B2 0722+30 has a regularly rotating gaseous disc throughout which star …
