Superconducting high entropy alloys (HEAs) are new members of disordered superconductors. We report the synthesis and investigation of a new superconducting high entropy alloy Mo$_{0.11}$W$_{0.11}$V$_{0.11}$Re$_{0.34}$B$_{0.33}$ (MWVRB). It crystallized in the tetragonal CuAl$_2$ crystal structure with space group (I4/$mcm$). Comprehensive transport, magnetization and heat capacity measurements confirmed bulk type-II superconductivity having transition temperature T$_{C}$ = 4.0 K. The low temperature electronic specific heat suggests a fully gapped superconducting state in weak coupling limit.
The influence of local moment magnetism on the boron isotope effect of T$_c$ was studied on single crystals of ErNi$_2$B$_2$C. Values of the partial isotope effect exponent of $α_B$=0.10$\pm$0.02 and $α_B$=0.10$\pm$0.04 were obtained based on two different criteria applied to extract $T_c$. No significant change in the partial isotope effect exponent compared to the ones obtained for LuNi$_2$B$_2$C was observed. Based on this result we conclude that pair-breaking due to the Er local magnetic moment appears to have no detectable influence on boron isotope effect of T$_c$.
High-entropy alloys are a new class of alloys, and attract much attention due to their unique properties. Since the discovery of a superconducting high-entropy alloy (HEA) in 2014, the materials research on HEA superconductor is a hot topic. We have found that Hf$_{21}$Nb$_{25}$Ti$_{15}$V$_{15}$Zr$_{24}$ body-centered-cubic (BCC) HEA is a new superconductor with the superconducting critical temperature Tc of 5.3 K. We briefly discussed the comparison of cocktail effect of Tc among BCC HEA superconductors.
With the help of the McMillan formula and virtual crystal model, we predict $T_c$ may exceed 34 K in a beryllium-based alloy with a specific composition, reminiscent of $T_c$ = 35 K in the first cuprate superconductor. This may similarly inspire research efforts to seek high temperature superconductors in ambient.
We perform a detailed calculation of the various contributions to the fluctuation conductivity of a granular metal close to its superconducting transition. We find three distinct regions of power law behavior in reduced temperature, $η=(T-T_c)/T_c$, with crossovers at $Γ/T_c$ and $E_{Th}/T_c$, where $Γ$ is the electron tunneling rate, and $E_{Th}$ is the Thouless energy of a grain. The calculation includes both intergrain and intragrain degrees of freedom. This complete theory of the fluctuation region in granular superconductors is then compared to experimental results from boron-doped nanocr…
The magnetic and transport properties of $Pd_{0.99}Fe_{0.01}$ thin films have been studied. We have found that the Curie temperature of the films is about 20 K and the magnetic properties strongly depend on temperature below $T_{Curie}$. We have also fabricated the set of superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor josephson junctions $Nb-PdFe-Nb$. The temperature dependence of the junctions with the ferromagnet layer thickness of about 36 nm shows the reentrant behaviour that is the evidence of the transition of the junction into the $π$-state.
We have studied the effects of strong impurity scattering on disordered superconductors beyond the low impurity concentration limit. By applying the full CPA to a superconductiong A-B binary alloy, we calculated the fluctuations of the local order parameters $Δ_{A}, Δ_{B}$ and charge densities, $n_{A}, n_{B}$ for weak and strong on site disorder. We find that for narrow band alloy s-wav e superconductors the conditions for Anderson's theorem are satisfied in general only for the case of particle-hole symmetry. In this case it is satisfied regardless whether we are in the weak or strong scatter…
The electronic structure, lattice dynamics, and electron-phonon coupling of the boron-doped diamond are investigated using the density functional supercell method. Our results indicate the boron-doped diamond is a phonon mediated superconductor, con rming previous theoretical conclusions deduced from the calculations employing the virtual crystal approximation. We show that the optical phonon modes involving B vibrations play an important role in the electron-phonon coupling. Di erent from previous theoretical results, our calculated electron-phonon coupling constant is 0.39 and the estimated …
We have performed an experimental study on the temperature and field dependence of magnetization of a series of superconducting Mo$_{100-x}$Re$_x$ alloys. Our studies reveal the presence of high field paramagnetic effect (HFPME) in these low temperature superconductors. The results of our studies indicate that the HFPME in the Mo$_{100-x}$Re$_x$ alloys is related to the inhomogeneous distribution of strong and weak flux-line pinning centers, and the flux compression resulting due to the same while cooling down the samples in the presence of high magnetic fields. The results are complemented by…

High entropy alloys (HEAs) are a recently-opened research area in materials science and condensed matter physics. Although 3d-metal-based HEAs have already been the subject of many investigations, studies of HEA superconductors, which tend to be based on 4d metals, are relatively fewer. Here we provide a short update of the progress made in studies of superconducting HEAs. We aim to summarize their current status and describe some of the key factors that appear to influence their superconducting transition temperatures and properties, including crystal structure, atomic makeup, valence electro…
Hydrogen-based superconductors provide a route to the long-sought goal of room-temperature superconductivity, but the high pressures required to metallize these materials limit their immediate application. For example, carbonaceous sulfur hydride, the first room-temperature superconductor, can reach a critical temperature (Tc) of 288 K only at the extreme pressure of 267 GPa. The next recognized challenge is the realization of room-temperature superconductivity at significantly lower pressures. Here, we propose a strategy for the rational design of high-temperature superconductors at low press…
We report the preparation method of, and boron isotope effect for MgB$_2$, a new binary intermetallic superconductor with a remarkably high superconducting transition temperature $T_c$($^{10}$B) = 40.2 K. Measurements of both temperature dependent magnetization and specific heat reveal a 1.0 K shift in $T_c$ between Mg$^{11}$B$_2$ and Mg$^{10}$B$_2$. Whereas such a high transition temperature might imply exotic coupling mechanisms, the boron isotope effect in MgB$_2$ is consistent with the material being a phonon-mediated BCS superconductor.
Studies on high-entropy alloy (HEA) superconductors have recently been increasing, particularly in the fields of materials science and condensed matter physics. To contribute to research on new HEA-type superconductors, in our study we synthesized polycrystalline samples of A15-type superconductors of Nb3Al0.2Sn0.2Ge0.2Ga0.2Si0.2 (#1) and Nb3Al0.3Sn0.3Ge0.2Ga0.1Si0.1 (#2) with an HEA-type site by arc melting. Elemental and structural analyses revealed that the compositions of the obtained samples satisfied the HEA state criteria. Superconducting transitions were observed at 9.0 and 11.0 K for …
The V-Ti alloys are promising materials as alternate to the commercial Nb-based superconductors for high current-high magnetic field applications. However, the critical current density (J_c) of these alloys are somewhat low due to their low grain-boundary density. We show here that grain refinement of the V-Ti alloys and enhancement of the J_c can be achieved by the addition of Gd into the system, which precipitates as clusters along the grain boundaries. Both the J_c and the pinning force density (F_P) increase with the increasing Gd content up to 1 at. % Gd, where they are more than 20 times…
We report on transport features in heavily boron doped nanocrystalline diamond (BNCD) films which are not seen in conventional (s-wave) granular superconductors. Observations include an anomalous resistance peak near to the superconducting transition temperature as well as a strong zero bias conductance peak in the current-voltage spectra. The effect of finite bias current on the evolution of the resistance peak is systematically investigated in this system. The shape of the resistance-temperature curves near the critical temperature is seen to be strongly influenced by both magnetic field and…
We have studied the changes in the electronic structure and the superconducting transition temperature T_c of Mg(B_{1-x}C_{x})_{2} alloys as a function of x with 0\leq x\leq 0.3. Our density-functional-based approach uses coherent-potential approximation to describe the effects of disorder, Gaspari-Gyorffy formalism to estimate the electron-phonon matrix elements and Allen-Dynes equation to calculate T_c in these alloys. We find that the changes in the electronic structure of Mg(B_{1-x}C_{x})_{2} alloys, especially near the Fermi energy E_F, come mainly from the outward movement of E_F with in…
The magnetic penetration depth $λ(0)$ in polycrystalline MgB$_{2}$ for different boron isotopes ($^{10}$B/$^{11}$B) was investigated by transverse field muon spin rotation. No boron isotope effect on the penetration depth $λ(0)$ was found within experimental error: $Δλ(0)/λ(0) = -0.8(8)%$, suggesting that MgB$_{2}$ is an adiabatic superconductor. This is in contrast to the substantial oxygen isotope effect on $λ(0)$ observed in cuprate high-temperature superconductors.
We calculate self-consistently the local density of states (LDOS) of a d-wave superconductor considering the scattering of the quasiparticles off randomly distributed impurities and off externally induced vortices. The impurities and the vortices are randomly distributed but the vortices are preferably located near the impurities. The increase of either the impurity repulsive potential or the mpurity density only affects the density of states (DOS) slightly. The dominant effect is due to the vortex scattering. The results for the LDOS agree qualitatively with experimental results considering t…
We study how attractive boron correlations in boron-doped diamond affect the superconducting critical temperature. The critical temperature is obtained from the McMillan formula for strong coupling superconductors with the density of states evaluated in the dynamical cluster approximation. Numerical results for the cluster of $2\times 2\times 2$ atoms show that attractive correlations lower the density of states at the Fermi level. We argue that this might explain experimentally observed differences in critical temperatures of 100 and 111 oriented films.
Prompted by the recent report on the evidence for superconductivity at ambient temperature and pressure in nanostructures of silver particles embedded into a gold matrix [arXiv:1807.08572], we have exploited first principles materials discovery approaches to predict superconductivity in the 3D bulk crystals and 2D slabs of Ag-Au binary alloys at 1 atm pressure within the phonon-mediated BCS-like pairing mechanism. In calculations, it turns out that, the estimated superconducting transition temperatures of the ensued stable and metastable Ag-Au alloys resulted in Tc as low as one mK. Whereas si…
Temperature and pressure are essential parameters in the synthesis, evaluation, and application of functional materials. This study proposes the addition of a heating function to a high-pressure diamond anvil cell (DAC) with in-situ measurement probes. The proposed DAC allows for simultaneous control of temperature and pressure within the sample space and can be used to synthesize functional materials under extreme conditions. The various components, namely the heater, thermometer, and measurement probes, were fabricated with a boron-doped diamond epitaxial film and could be used repeatedly. T…
We have measured the isothermal field dependence of magnetization of the Mo$_{100-x}$Re$_x$ (15 $\leq$ x $\leq$ 48) alloys, and have estimated the critical current and pinning force density from these measurements. We have performed structural characterization of the above alloys using standard techniques, and analyzed the field dependence of critical current and pinning force density using existing theories. Our results indicate that dislocation networks and point defects like voids and interstitial imperfections are the main flux line pinning centres in the Mo$_{100-x}$Re$_x$ alloys in the i…
High-entropy alloys are made from random mixtures of principal elements on simple lattices, stabilized by a high mixing entropy. The recently discovered BCC Ta-Nb-Hf-Zr-Ti high entropy alloy superconductor appears to display properties of both simple crystalline intermetallics and amorphous materials, e.g. it has a well defined superconducting transition along with an exceptional robustness against disorder. Here we show that the valence-electron count dependence of the superconducting transition temperature in the high entropy alloy falls between those of analogous simple solid solutions and …
We present the findings of the superconductivity in the silicon nanostructures prepared by short time diffusion of boron of the n - type Si (100) surface. These Si - based nanostructures represent the p - type ultra-narrow self - assembled silicon quantum wells confined by the delta - barriers heavily with boron. The resistivity, thermo - emf and magnetic susceptibility studies show that the high temperature superconductivity observed seems to result from the single - hole tunnelling into the negative - U boron centres at the silicon quantum well - delta - barier interfaces.
A model describing the Anderson impurity in the Bardeen-Cooper-Schriffer superconductor is proven to exhibit hidden integrability and is diagonalized exactly by the Bethe ansatz.
A high-entropy-alloy-type (HEA-type) superconductor is new category of highly disordered superconductors. Therefore, finding brand-new superconducting characteristics in the HEA-type superconductors would open new avenue to investigate the relationship between structural disorder and superconductivity. Here, we report on the remarkable broadening of specific heat jump near a superconducting transition tempreature (Tc) in transition-metal zirconides (TrZr2) with different mixing entropy (ΔSmix) at the Tr site. With increasing ΔSmix, the superconducting transition seen in specific heat became br…
Herein, we report the synthesis and detailed superconducting properties of a new high entropy alloy superconductor with nominal composition Nb$_{20}$Re$_{20}$Zr$_{20}$Hf$_{20}$Ti$_{20}$ using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), magnetization, transport, and thermodynamic measurements. The room temperature powder XRD confirms that the alloy is arranged on a simple body centered cubic crystal lattice with lattice parameter a = 3.38 (1) $\textÅ$. EDX measurement yields an average composition of Nb$_{21}$Re$_{16}$Zr$_{20}$Hf$_{23}$Ti$_{20}$ (in atomic $\%$).…
The phonon-mode decomposition of the electron-phonon coupling in the MgB2-like system Li_{1-x}BC is explored using first principles calculations. It is found that the high temperature superconductivity of such systems results from extremely strong coupling to only ~2% of the phonon modes. Novel characteristics of E_2g branches include (1) ``mode lambda'' values of 25 and greater compared to a mean of $\sim 0.4$ for other modes, (2) a precipitous Kohn anomaly, and (3) E_2g phonon linewidths within a factor of ~2 of the frequency itself, indicating impending breakdown of linear electron-phonon t…
High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are a new class of materials constructed from multiple principal elements statistically arranged on simple crystallographic lattices. Due to the large amount of disorder present, they are excellent model systems for investigating the properties of materials intermediate between crystalline and amorphous states. Here we report the effects of systematic isoelectronic replacements, using Mo-Y, Mo-Sc, and Cr-Sc mixtures, for the valence electron count 4 and 5 elements in the BCC Ta-Nb-Zr-Hf-Ti high entropy alloy (HEA) superconductor. We find that the superconducting tran…
High-entropy alloy (HEA) is an attracting topic raising in materials science and condensed matter physics. Although several types of superconductors have been discovered in HEAs, the critical currents (Jc) of HEA superconductors remain uncharacterized up to now. Here, we systematically study the current-carrying ability of (TaNb)0.7(HfZrTi)0.5 HEA at various heat treatment conditions. We obtained the high upper critical field and large current carrying ability, which point to optimistic applications. Interestingly, the fishtail or second peak effect was found for the first time in HEA supercon…
We show here that the yttrium is immiscible and precipitates with various sizes in the body centred cubic V$_{0.6}$Ti$_{0.4}$ alloy superconductor. The number and size of the precipitates are found to depend on the amount of yttrium added. Precipitates with various sizes up to 30~$μ$m are found in the V$_{0.6}$Ti$_{0.4}$ alloy containing 5 at.\% yttrium. The large amount of line disorders generated by the addition of yttrium in this alloy are found to be effective in pinning the magnetic flux lines. While the superconducting transition temperature increases with the increasing amount of yttriu…
High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are a new class of materials which are being energetically studied around the world. HEAs are characterized by a multi-component alloy in which five or more elements randomly occupy a crystallographic site. The conventional HEA concept has developed into simple crystal structures such as face-centered-cubic (fcc), body-centered-cubic (bcc) and hexagonal-closed packing (hcp) structures. The highly atomic-disordered state produces many superior mechanical or thermal properties. Superconductivity has been one of the topics of focus in the field of HEAs since the discove…
Electronic band structure of boron-rich low-temperature superconductors UB12-like dodecaboride YB12 and CaB6-like hexaboride YB6 are investigated using the first-principle FLMTO calculations and compared with one for layered YB2 and the new "medium-Tc" superconductor MgB2 diborides.
We have found that body-centered cubic (bcc) HfMoNbTiZr is a type-II BCS high-entropy alloy (HEA) superconductor with a superconducting critical temperature of $T_\mathrm{c}$=4.1 K. By employing a Debye temperature $θ_\mathrm{D}$ of 263 K and $T_\mathrm{c}$, the electron-phonon coupling constant $λ_\mathrm{e-p}$ is calculated to be 0.63. The electronic structure calculation revealed band broadening with energy uncertainties due to atomic disorders. The superconducting properties are compared among equiatomic quinary bcc HEA superconductors. $T_\mathrm{c}$ decreases with decreasing $λ_\mathrm{e…
We have measured the amplitude and the phase of an electromagnetic (EM) field radiated from superconductor (amorphous ZrTiCuNiBe alloy) in the mixed state due to interaction of the flux lattice with an elastic wave. The results undoubtedly point to an essential contribution of a surface pinning into the flux lattice dynamics. We propose a model that describes radiation of EM field from superconductors with non-uniform pinning. The model allows to reconstruct the viscosity and the Labush parameters from the experimental data. The behavior of the Labush parameter can be qualitatively explained i…
We present the first scanning tunneling spectroscopy study of single-crystalline boron doped diamond. The measurements were performed below 100 mK with a low temperature scanning tunneling microscope. The tunneling density of states displays a clear superconducting gap. The temperature evolution of the order parameter follows the weak coupling BCS law with $Δ(0)/k_B T_c \simeq 1.74$. Vortex imaging at low magnetic field also reveals localized states inside the vortex core that are unexpected for such a dirty superconductor.
The discovery of superconductivity in Magnesium Diborate (MgB$_2$) has stimulated great interest in the search of new superconductors with similar lattice structures. Unlike cuprate or iron-based superconductors, MgB$_2$ is indisputably a phonon-mediated high temperature superconductor. The emergence of high temperature superconductivity in this material results from the strong coupling between the boron $σ$-bonding electrons around the Fermi level and the bond-stretching optical phonon modes. Here we show, based on the first-principles calculations, that Li$_2$B$_3$C is such a good candidate …
We studied the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) like state establishing due to the proximity effect in superconducting Nb/Cu41Ni59 bilayers. Using a special wedge-type deposition technique, series of 20-35 samples could be fabricated by magnetron sputtering during one run. The layer thickness of only a few nanometers, the composition of the alloy, and the quality of interfaces were controlled by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, and Auger spectroscopy. The magnetic properties of the ferromagnetic alloy layer were characterized with…

We have synthesized high-entropy-alloy-type (HEA-type) RE123 superconductors Y0.28Nd0.16Sm0.18Eu0.18Gd0.20Ba2Cu3O7-d and Y0.18La0.24Nd0.14Sm0.14Eu0.15Gd0.15Ba2Cu3O7-d with a superconducting transition temperature (Tc) exceeding 90 K. From comparison between HEA-type and conventional RE123 samples, we found that the mixing entropy at the rare earth site does not affect Tc and critical current density (Jc) of the RE123 samples. For all the examined samples, orthorhombicity was found to be an essential parameter for Tc and Jc. In the regime near orthorhombic-tetragonal boundary, Jc for the HEA-ty…
Based on the experimentally found existence of two gaps in MgB2 (one gap associated to the boron sigma-states and the other to the boron pi-states), the different contributions to the transport properties, electrical conductivity and Hall coefficient, were studied using the full potential-linearized augmented plane wave method and the generalized gradient approximation. MgB2 doping was analyzed in the rigid band approximation. This permitted the study of the partial substitution of magnesium for aluminium (Mg1-xAlxB2) as well as other substitutions such as AB2 (A=Be, Zr, Nb and Ta). The sigma-…
Compositionally complex alloys (CCAs) are a new category of high-entropy materials containing more than two high-entropy phases in an alloy sample. We applied the concept of CCA to a A15-type compound superconductor V3X where X site is occupied by Al, Si, Ga, Ge, and Sn. The V3X sample shows bulk superconductivity with a transition temperature (Tc) of 6.4 K, which is close to the Tc of V3Ge. The upper critical field (Bc2(0)) of V3X estimated from magnetic susceptibility is 8.8 T, which is ~50% higher than that of V3Ge (Bc2(0) = 5.8 T). The presence of at least five different A15 phases with hi…
In 2004 the discovery of superconductivity in heavily boron-doped diamond (C:B) led to an increasing interest in the superconducting phases of wide-gap semiconductors. Subsequently superconductivity was found in heavily boron-doped cubic silicon (Si:B) and recently in the stochiometric ''mixture'' of heavily boron-doped silicon carbide (SiC:B). The latter system surprisingly exhibits type-I superconductivity in contrast to the type-II superconductors C:B and Si:B. Here we will focus on the specific heat of two different superconducting samples of boron-doped SiC. One of them contains cubic and…
Here, we report the successful synthesis of electron- (Ni) and hole- (K) doped bulk BaFe2As2 compounds by means of mechanical alloying (MA) process. The MA technique allows one to obtain amorphous phase BaFe2As2 with a homogeneous distribution of doping atoms at room temperature without continuous heating. We found the optimum time for high-energy milling is in the range between 1-1.5 hours. Using pre-synthesised FeAs and NiAs precursors, we successfully obtained BaFe2-xNixAs2 and Ba1-xKxFe2As2 superconducting bulk samples after short-range heat treatment. This method can be easily scaled acco…
Density functional theory calculations have been used to identify stable layered Li-$M$-B crystal structure phases derived from a recently proposed binary metal-sandwich (MS) lithium monoboride superconductor. We show that the MS lithium monoboride gains in stability when alloyed with electron-rich metal diborides; the resulting ordered Li$_{2(1-x)}M_x$B$_2$ ternary phases may form under normal synthesis conditions in a wide concentration range of $x$ for a number of group-III-V metals $M$. In an effort to pre-select compounds with the strongest electron-phonon coupling we examine the softenin…
Comparison of periodic B dopants with a random alloy of substitional boron in diamond is carried out using several supercells and the coherent potential approximation (CPA) for the random alloy case. The main peak in the B local density of states is shifted to lower binding energy compared to the corresponding C peak in intrinsic diamond. In supercells, this shows up as strongly B-character bands split from bulk C bands away from the zone center,in an energy region around -1 eV. Even for a 4*4*4 supercell (BC$_{127}$), effects of the dopant order are evident in the form of primarily B-characte…
We have performed an experimental study on the temperature dependence of electrical resistivity $ρ$($T$) and heat capacity $C$($T$) of the Mo$_{1-x}$Re$_x$ $(x = 0.20, 0.25)$ alloy superconductors in different magnetic fields. In the presence of applied magnetic field, the electrical resistivity of these alloys go to zero at a temperature well above the bulk superconducting transition temperature obtained with the help of heat capacity measurements in the same magnetic field. Our study indicates the presence of surface superconducting state in these alloys, where the flux lines are pinned in t…
Research on high-entropy-alloy (HEA) superconductors is a growing field in material science. In this study, we explored new HEA-type superconductors and discovered a CuAl2-type superconductor Co0.2Ni0.1Cu0.1Rh0.3Ir0.3Zr2 with a HEA-type transition metal site. A superconducting transition was observed at 8.0 K after electrical resistivity, magnetization, and specific heat measurements. The bulk characteristics of the superconductivity were confirmed through the specific heat measurements. The discovery of superconductivity in HEA-type Co0.2Ni0.1Cu0.1Rh0.3Ir0.3Zr2 will provide a novel pathway to…
We report a comprehensive study on the elastic properties of a hexanary high-entropy alloy superconductor (ScZrNbTa)$_{0.685}$[RhPd]$_{0.315}$ at room and cryogenic temperatures, by Resonant Ultrasound Spectroscopy experiments. The derived elastic constants are bulk modulus $K=132.7$ GPa, Young's modulus $E=121.0$ GPa, shear modulus $G=44.9$ GPa, and Poisson's ratio $ν$=0.348 for room temperature. The Young's and shear moduli are $\sim 10\%$ larger than those in NbTi superconductor with similar $T_c$, while the ductility is comparable. Moreover, the mechanical performance is further enhanced a…
The fluctuation-induced diamagnetism (FD), associated with the presence of precursor Cooper pairs in the normal state, has been measured in lanthanum with dilute magnetic (Pr) and nonmagnetic (Lu) impurities. It is found that while for pure La and La-Lu alloys the FD agrees, as expected, with the theoretical predictions, it is much larger for La-Pr alloys (around a factor 5 for La-2at.%Pr). These results suggest the existence of an indirect contribution to the FD arising from the interaction between fluctuating Cooper pairs and magnetic impurities.
We report here, the systematic field-cooled (FC) magnetisation of superconducting (V$_{0.6}$Ti$_{0.4}$)-Y alloys in presence of applied magnetic fields upto 7 T. Paramagnetic response is clearly observed just below the superconducting transition temperature (T$_{c}$) in low fields ($\leq$0.2 T). The lower T$_{c}$ of the Y-rich precipitates as compared to the bulk, is the origin of flux compression and this leads to paramagnetic response. It is also observed that the magnetisation obtained during field cooled (FC) cooling cycle is lower than that of FC warming, for all the alloys in the field r…
Anomalous resistive peaks below the superconducting transition temperature in heavily boron doped nanocrystalline diamond films could have potential application in switching devices, however the exact origin is still under study. We establish a temperature dependence of this resistive phase similar to what has been reported for in Josephson junction arrays and other granular superconductors where the charge duel of the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) transition has been observed. Non-linear magnetoresistance with a temperature dependent peak feature below the critical field are also pres…
