On Spectrum of Nonlinear Continuous Operators

This article proposed a new approach to the determination of the spectrum for nonlinear continuous operators in the Banach spaces and using it investigated the spectrum of some classes of operators. Here shows that in nonlinear operators case is necessary to seek the spectrum of a given nonlinear operator relatively to another nonlinear operator. Moreover, the order of nonlinearity of examined operator and operator relatively to which seek the spectrum must be identical. Here provided different examples relative to how one can find the eigenvalue and also studied solvability problems.

Nonlinear weakly sequentially continuous embeddings between Banach spaces

In these notes, we study nonlinear embeddings between Banach spaces which are also weakly sequentially continuous. Dynamical Systems Method for solving nonlinear equations with locally Holder continuous monotone operators

A version of the Dynamical Systems Method for solving ill-posed nonlinear equations with monotone and locally Hölder continuous operators is studied in this paper. A discrepancy principle is proposed and justified under natural and weak assumptions. The only smoothness assumption on $F$ is the local Hölder continuity of order $α>1/2$.

Absolutely continuous spectrum of perturbed Stark operators

We prove new results on the stability of the absolutely continuous spectrum for perturbed Stark operators with decaying or satisfying certain smoothness assumption perturbation. We show that the absolutely continuous spectrum of the Stark operator is stable if the perturbing potential decays at the rate $(1+x)^{-\frac{1}{3}-ε}$ or if it is continuously differentiable with derivative from the Hölder space $C_α(R),$ with any $α>0.$

On nonlinear damped wave equations for positive operators. I. Discrete spectrum

In this paper we study a Cauchy problem for the nonlinear damped wave equations for a general positive operator with discrete spectrum. We derive the exponential in time decay of solutions to the linear problem with decay rate depending on the interplay between the bottom of the operator's spectrum and the mass term. Solutions with compact time spectrum to nonlinear Klein--Gordon and Schroedinger equations and the Titchmarsh theorem for partial convolution

We prove that finite energy solutions to the nonlinear Schroedinger equation and nonlinear Klein--Gordon equation which have the compact time spectrum have to be one-frequency solitary waves. The argument is based on the generalization of the Titchmarsh convolution theorem to partial convolutions.

A geometric approach to absolutely continuous spectrum for discrete Schrödinger operators

We review a geometric approach to proving absolutely continuous (ac) spectrum for random and deterministic Schrödinger operators developed in \cite{FHS1,FHS2,FHS3,FHS4}. We study decaying potentials in one dimension and present a simplified proof of ac spectrum of the Anderson model on trees. The latter implies ac spectrum for a percolation model on trees. Finally, we introduce certain loop tree models which lead to some interesting open problems.

Generic sets in spaces of measures and generic singular continuous spectrum for Delone Hamiltonians

We show that geometric disorder leads to purely singular continuous spectrum generically. The main input is a result of Simon known as the ``Wonderland theorem''. Here, we provide an alternative approach and actually a slight strengthening by showing that various sets of measures defined by regularity properties are generic in the set of all measures on a locally compact metric space. As a byproduct we obtain that a generic measure on euclidean space is singular continuous.

This paper presents a general framework for a refined spectral analysis of a group of isometries acting on a Banach space, which extends the spectral theory of Arveson.
