We leverage the CP violation in charged $B$ meson decays to generate the observed baryon asymmetry and dark matter at $\mathcal{O}(10 \text{ MeV})$ temperatures. We realize this in two scenarios: $B_c^+$ Mesogenesis and $B^+$ Mesogenesis. In the first, CP violating $B_c^\pm$ decays to $B^\pm$ mesons are followed by decays to dark and Standard Model baryons. In the second, CP violating $B^\pm$ decays to lighter charged mesons are accompanied by the latter's decays to dark and Standard Model leptons, which then scatter into the baryon asymmetry. $B_c^+$ Mesogenesis is actively being probed at Belle and LHCb, while $B^+$ Mesogenesis can be tested at colliders and sterile neutrino searches.
Production of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the $B$-Mesogenesis mechanism is directly related to the branching fraction of seemingly baryon number violating decays of $B$ mesons into a light Standard Model baryon and missing energy. Achieving the observed baryon asymmetry requires that the branching fraction for such decays be greater than about $10^{-7}-10^{-5}$. Experimental searches at $B$ Factories and Hadron Colliders target specific decay modes. Therefore, computing the exclusive branching fraction for each decay is a critical step towards testing Mesogenesis. In this work we use QC…
Low-scale baryogenesis could be discovered at $B$-factories and the LHC. In the $B$-Mesogenesis paradigm [G. Elor, M. Escudero, and A. E. Nelson, PRD 99, 035031 (2019), arXiv:1810.00880], the CP violating oscillations and subsequent decays of $B$ mesons in the early Universe simultaneously explain the origin of the baryonic and the dark matter of the Universe. This mechanism for baryo- and dark matter genesis from $B$ mesons gives rise to distinctive signals at collider experiments, which we scrutinize in this paper. We study CP violating observables in the $B^0_q-\bar{B}_q^0$ system, discuss …
In this work productions of charged and doubly charged scalars and their lepton flavor violating collider signals in the framework of littlest Higgs model at LHC are studied. In the allowed parameter region of the littlest Higgs model, the production rates of the scalars of littlest Higgs model via $pp \to ϕ^{++}ϕ^{-}$, $pp \to ϕ^+ϕ^-$ and $pp \to ϕ^{++}ϕ^{--}$ processes are calculated. We obtained that charged and doubly charged scalar pairs can be produced at LHC . Considering the possible lepton flavor violating decays of charged scalars found in literature, final state analysis is done. Th…
First full next-to-leading order analytical results in Chiral Perturbation Theory for the charged Kaon K -> 3 pi slope g and decay rates CP-violating asymmetries are presented. We discuss the constraints that a measurement of these asymmetries would impose on the Standard Model calculations of epsilon_K' and the kind of information it can provide on Im G_8, Im (e^2 G_E) and higher order weak couplings.
Together with any Beyond the Standard Model ultraviolet complete, renormalizable model, one or several exotic particles are usually hypothesized. $C\!P$-even neutral and doubly-charged scalars are common, well known examples which can contribute to the seven 3-body Charged Lepton Flavor Violating decays. The experimental bounds on each Branching Ratio within this set of processes provide a good test for new physics that can induce powerful constraints on relevant parameter spaces. This is specially true for a third species of particle which, unlike the previous two, is a rare feature of renorm…
In this work, we investigate the phenomenological consequences of a doubly charged scalar which may belong to different uncoloured scalar multiplets. This doubly charged scalar couples to the charged leptons as well as gauge bosons, which we parametrize in a model independent way. Restricting ourselves in the regime of conserved charged-parity (CP), we assume only a few non-zero Yukawa couplings ($y_{μ\ell}$, where $\ell=e,μ,τ$) between the doubly charged scalar and the charged leptons. Our choices allow the doubly charged scalar to impinge low-energy processes like anomalous magnetic moment o…
We give the first full next-to-leading order analytical results in Chiral Perturbation Theory for the charged Kaon K \to 3 pi slope g and decay rates CP-violating asymmetries. We have included the dominant Final State Interactions at NLO analytically and discussed the importance of the unknown counterterms. We find that the uncertainty due to them is reasonable just for Δg_C, i.e. the asymmetry in the K^+ \to pi^+ pi^+ pi^- slope g; we get Δg_C = -(2.4 +- 1.2) 10^{-5}. The rest of the asymmetries are very sensitive to the unknown counterterms. In particular, the decay rate asymmetries can chan…
We study the lepton flavor violating process, $e+ T \to τ+T'$, at a few GeV. This process can be studied by experiments directing GeV scale electron or positron beams on internal or fixed targets. We study the effects of some low energy lepton flavor violating interactions on this process. We study the sensitivities of this process on these low energy lepton flavor violating interactions and compare them to the sensitivities of lepton flavor violating $τ$ decay processes. Comparing with $τ$ decay processes, this process provides another way to study the lepton flavor violating effects with $e-…
The $μ^-e^-\to e^-e^-$ process in a muonic atom is one of the promising probes to study the charged lepton flavor violation (CLFV). We have investigated the angular distribution of electrons from the polarized muon of the atomic bound state. The parity violating asymmetric distribution of electrons is analyzed by using lepton wave functions under the Coulomb interaction of a finite nuclear charge distribution. It is found that the asymmetry parameters of electrons are very sensitive to the chiral structure of the CLFV interaction and the contact/photonic interaction. Therefore, together with t…
We propose a new idea to test a class of loop-induced neutrino mass mechanisms by searching for lepton number violating charged current processes with incident of a neutrino beam. The expected rates of these processes are estimated based on some theoretical assumptions. They turn out to be sizable so that detection of such processes could be possible at near detectors in future highly intense neutrino-beam facilities.
We discuss prospects for discovering a charged Higgs boson in the CP-violating type-II two-Higgs-doublet Model. In the light of recent LHC data, we focus on the parameter space that survives experimental as well as the theoretical constraints on the model. Once the phenomenological scenario is set, we analyse the scope for the LHC to discover a charged Higgs in association with the lightest neutral Higgs and a charged vector boson.
We explore charged-Higgs cp-violating effects in a specific type III two-Higgs doublet model which is theoretically attractive as it accommodates the large mass of the top quark in a natural fashion. Two new CP-violating phases arise from the right-handed up quark sector. We consider CP violation in both neutral and charged B decays. Some of the important findings are as follows. 1) Large direct-CP asymmetry is found to be possible for B+- to psi/J K+-. 2) Sizable D-anti-D mixing effect at the percent level is found to be admissible despite the stringent constraints from the data on K-anti-K m…
We study the decay widths of the processes H^+\to W^+ H^0 (h^0,A^0), including the Lorentz violating effects and analyze the possible CPT violating asymmetry arising from CPT odd coefficients. We observe that these effects are too small to be detected, since the corresponding coefficients are highly suppressed at the low energy scale.
After the discovery of the Higgs boson, several future experiments have been proposed to study the Higgs boson properties, including two circular lepton colliders, the CEPC and the FCC-ee, and one linear lepton collider, the ILC. We evaluate the precision reach of these colliders in measuring the branching ratios of the charged lepton flavor violating Higgs decays $H\to e^\pmμ^\mp$, $e^\pmτ^\mp$ and $μ^\pmτ^\mp$. The expected upper bounds on the branching ratios given by the circular (linear) colliders are found to be $\mathcal{B}(H\to e^\pmμ^\mp) < 1.2\ (2.1) \times 10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B}(H\t…
The lepton-number-violating decays of $B^+, D^+$ and $D_s^+$ mesons induced by the doubly charged Higgs boson have been studied. It is found that although the yielded results of the branch ratio are much smaller than the present limits from the data they are consistent with the previous conclusions calculated in the framwork of relativistic quark model where the processes happened via the light Majorana neutrinos.
We constrain $C\!P$-violating charged and neutral anomalous triple gauge couplings using LHC measurements and projections of diboson and VBF $Vjj$ production, both with subsequent leptonic decays. For triple gauge couplings involving $W$ bosons we analyse asymmetries and interpret our results in the SMEFT at dimension-six. For neutral triple gauge couplings, which are dominantly constrained by high transverse-momentum bins, we present the resulting bounds in terms of a general anomalous couplings framework.
In this work pair productions of charged and doubly charged scalars in the framework of littlest Higgs model at $e^+e^-$ colliders are studied. In the allowed parameter space of the littlest Higgs model, the production rates of the scalar pairs are calculated. It is obtained that pair productions of charged and doubly charged scalars are reachable at $e^+ e^-$ colliders with energy $\sqrt{S}\geq 1.7TeV$. Using the lepton flavor violating decays of charged scalars calculated in literature, final state analysis is done for pair production processes. This analysis show that depending on the model…
Neutrino non-standard interactions (NSI) can be constrained using coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering. We discuss here two aspects in this respect, namely the effects of (i) charged current NSI in neutrino production and (ii) CP-violating phases associated with neutral current NSI in neutrino detection. Effects of CP-phases require the simultaneous presence of two different flavor-changing neutral current NSI parameters. Applying these two scenarios to the COHERENT measurement, we derive limits on charged current NSI and find that more data is required to compete with the existing lim…
We derive the upper bounds on certain products of R-parity- and lepton-flavor-violating couplings from the decays of the neutral $B$ meson into two charged leptons. These modes of $B^0$ decays can constrain the product combinations of the couplings with one or more heavy generation indices. We find that most of these bounds are stronger than the previous ones.
It is shown that the radiation of a charged Higgs boson off a third-generation quark (charged-Higgs-strahlung) provides an important channel for the discovery of the charged Higgs at hadron colliders. Equivalently, in supersymmetric models with explicit lepton-number (R-parity) violation, sleptons may also be produced in association with quarks (slepton-strahlung). Higgs- and slepton-strahlung production cross sections are given for both the Tevatron and the LHC. The LHC cross sections imply that heavy ${\cal{O}}$(TeV) charged Higgs bosons can be produced via charged-Higgs-strahlung and that s…
We review and update the interpretation of the 125 GeV scalar as the lightest Higgs boson of the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model, allowing for CP violation in the potential. The detection of a charged Higgs boson would exclude the Standard Model. Proposed benchmarks for charged-Higgs searches in the channel pp\to H^+W^-X\to W^+W^-H_1X are reviewed and updated.
We consider the leptonic and semileptonic (SL) lepton flavour violating (LFV) decays of the charged leptons in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). The formalism for evaluation of branching fractions for the SL LFV charged-lepton decays with one or two pseudoscalar mesons, or one vector meson in the final state, is given. Previous amplitudes for the SL LFV charged-lepton decays in MSSM are improved, for instance the $γ$-penguin amplitude is corrected to assure the gauge invariance. The decays are studied not only in the model-independent formulation of the theory in the frame of M…
We present the next-to-leading order full results in Chiral Perturbation Theory for the charged Kaon K --> 3 pi slope g CP violating asymmetries. We discuss the constraints that a measurement of these asymmetries would impose on the Standard Model results of epsilon_K' and search for new physics. We also study the kind of information that such measurement can provide on Im G_8, Im (e^2 G_E) and higher order weak couplings.
We study the charged lepton flavour violation in a popular neutrino mass model with $A_4$ discrete symmetry. This symmetry requires the presence of multiple Higgs doublets in the model and it also dictates the flavour violating Yukawa couplings of the additional neutral scalars of the model. Such couplings lead to the decays of the neutral mesons, the top quark and the $τ$ lepton into charged leptons of different flavours at tree level. The $A_4$ symmetry of the model leads to certain characteristic signatures in these decays. We discuss these signatures and predict the rates for the most favo…
Many Standard Model extensions predict doubly-charged scalars; in particular, all models with resonances in charged lepton-pair channels with non-vanishing lepton number; if these are pair produced at the LHC, the observation of their decay into $l^\pm l^\pm W^\mp W^\mp$ will be necessary in order to establish their lepton-number violating character, which is generally not straightforward. Nonetheless, the analysis of events containing four charged leptons (including scalar decays into one or two taus as well as into W bosons) makes it possible to determine whether the doubly-charged excitatio…
The Large Hadron Collider is shown to have great scope for a light charged Higgs discovery, in the context of the CP-violating type-I two Higgs doublet model. This scenario with similar masses of $H^\pm$ and W was suggested by the puzzling departure from charged current lepton universality found in the LEP data. With the lightest neutral Higgs mass set to 125 GeV, the charged-neutral Higgs associated production mechanism can cause a significant excess in the $τνb \bar{b}$ events over a vast range of tan beta as long as the Higgs mixing pattern avoids a few limiting cases. Thanks to the low $H^…
We study photonic, neutrino and charged particle signatures from slow decays of gravitino dark matter in supersymmetric theories where R-parity is explicitly broken by trilinear operators. Photons and (anti-)fermions from loop and tree-level processes give rise to spectra with distinct features, which, if observed, can give crucial input on the possible mass of the gravitino and the magnitude and flavour structure of R-violating operators. Within this framework, we make detailed comparisons of the theoretical predictions to the recent experimental data from PAMELA, ATIC and Fermi LAT.
A model independent analysis of the leptonic Dirac CP-violating phase (δ) is presented. The analysis uses the experimentally determined values of the mixing angles in the lepton mixing matrix in order to explore the allowed values for δ and possible general forms for the charged lepton mixing matrix. This is done under two general assumptions: 1) that the mixing matrix in the neutrino sector is the so-called tribimaximal matrix and hence the non zero value for θ13 arises due to the mixing matrix in the charged lepton sector and 2) the charged lepton mixing matrix is parametrized in terms of th…
A mechanism has been suggested recently to generate the neutrino mass out of a dimension-seven operator. This is expected to relieve the tension between the occurrence of a tiny neutrino mass and the observability of other physics effects beyond it. Such a mechanism would inevitably entail lepton flavor violating effects. We study in this work the radiative and purely leptonic transitions of the light charged leptons. In so doing we make a systematic analysis of the flavor structure by providing a convenient parametrization of the mass matrices in terms of independent physical parameters and d…
We investigate charged lepton flavor violating (CFLV) processes in the `neutrinophilic Higgs+seesaw model', in which right-handed neutrinos couple only with an extra Higgs field which develops a tiny VEV and the right-handed neutrinos also have Majorana mass. The model realizes a seesaw mechanism around TeV scale without extremely small Dirac Yukawa couplings. A phenomenological feature of the model is CFLV processes induced by loop diagrams of the charged scalar particles and heavy neutrinos. Therefore, first we constrain the model's parameter space from the search for $μ\to eγ$. Next, we pre…
Analytic expressions of lepton-flavour- and lepton-number-violating decays of charged leptons are derived in the context of general $SU(2)_L\otimes U(1)_Y$ seesaw scenarios that are motivated by grand unified theories (GUT's) or superstring models, in which left-handed and/or right-handed neutral singlets are present. Possible constraints imposed by cosmology and low-energy data are briefly discussed. The violation of the decoupling theorem in flavour-dependent graphs due to the presence of heavy neutral leptons of Dirac or Majorana nature is emphasized. Numerical estimates reveal that the dec…
We study lepton-number-violating (LNV) decays of heavy flavors ($τ$ lepton and top quark) induced by doubly-charged Higgs boson in the Higgs triplet model. It is found that the branching fractions of LNV $τ^- \to \ell^{+}M_1^-M_2^-$ decays are highly suppressed compared with the current experimental limits. On the other hand, for LNV top quark decays, the most optimistic branching ratios for $t \to b\ell^{+}\ell^{+}W^{-}$ turn out to be at the level of $\sim 10^{-7} - 10^{-8}$. The observation of these rare top quark decays would be a clear signal of LNV processes, and their non-observation wo…
Heavy gauge bosons such as $W^{\prime}$ are expected to exist in many extensions of the Standard Model. In this paper, it is shown that the most general Lagrangian for the interaction of $W^{\prime}$ with top and bottom quarks which consists of V-A and V+A structure with in general complex couplings produces an Electric Dipole Moment (EDM) for the top quark at one loop level. We predict the allowed ranges for the mass and couplings of $W^{\prime}$ by using the upper limit on the top quark EDM.
We present a testable mechanism of low-scale baryogenesis and dark matter production in which neither baryon nor lepton number are violated. Charged $D$ mesons are produced out-of-equilibrium at tens of MeV temperatures. The $D$ mesons quickly undergo CP-violating decays to charged pions, which then decay into dark-sector leptons without violating lepton number. To transfer this lepton asymmetry to the baryon asymmetry, the dark leptons scatter on additional dark-sector states charged under lepton and baryon number. Amusingly, this transfer proceeds without electroweak sphalerons, which are no…
In the context of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with the right-handed Majorana neutrinos, we study lepton flavor violating processes including full renormalization group running effects. We systematically compare our results with the commonly used leading logarithmic approximation, resorting to a ``best fit'' approach to fix all the high energy Yukawa matrices. We find significant deviations in large regions of the SUSY parameter space, which we outline in detail. We also give, within this setting, some results on the cosmo-phenomenologically preferred stau coannih…
We study the production and decay of charged scalars, eta^\pm, in the context of a CP-Violating Inert-Doublet Model. The model is an extended version of the Inert Doublet Model with an extra Higgs doublet and provides new sources of CP violation and a dark matter candidate. As compared with the 2HDM, the particle spectrum contains two additional neutral scalars and a charged pair. These particles are subject to a Z_2 symmetry, but can be pair-produced in hadronic collisions. If a charged scalar is included in the pair, it decays to the stable dark-matter candidate (i.e., the lightest neutral i…
We present a phenomenological study of a CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet Model with type-II Yukawa couplings at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the light of recent LHC data, we focus on the parameter space that survives the current and past experimental constraints as well as theoretical bounds on the model. Once the phenomenological scenario is set, we analyse the scope of the LHC in exploring this model through the discovery of a charged Higgs boson produced in association with a W boson, with the former decaying into the lightest neutral Higgs and a second W state, altogether yielding a …
We propose a new mechanism to explain neutrino masses with lepton number conservation, in which the Dirac neutrino masses are generated at the two-loop level involving a dark matter candidate. In this model, branching ratios of lepton flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson can be much larger than those of lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons. If lepton flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson are observed at future collider experiments without detecting lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons, most of the models previously proposed for tiny neutrino masses are excl…
The charged lepton flavour violating (LFV) radiative decays, $μ\to e+γ$, $τ\to μ+γ$ and $τ\to e +γ$ are investigated in a class of supersymmetric $A_4$ models with three heavy right-handed (RH) Majorana neutrinos, in which the lepton (neutrino) mixing is predicted to leading order (LO) to be tri-bimaximal. The light neutrino masses are generated via the type I see-saw mechanism. The analysis is done within the framework of the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) scenario, which provides flavour universal boundary conditions at the scale of grand unification $M_X \approx 2 \times 10^{16}$ GeV. Detail…
We present a model for calculating charged-lepton mixing matrices. These matrices are an essential ingredient for predicting lepton flavor-violating rates in the lepton number nonuniversal models recently proposed to explain anomalies in B-meson decays. The model is based on work on "constrained flavor breaking" by Appelquist, Bai and Piai relating the charged-lepton mass matrix, M_l, to those for the up and down-type quarks, M_{u,d}. We use our recent model of lepton nonuniversality to illustrate the magnitudes of flavor-violating B-decay rates that might be expected. Decays with mu tau final…
We calculate the electric dipole moment of electron using the experimental result of muon electric dipole moment and upper limit of the BR(μ--> eγ) in the framework of the general two Higgs doublet model. Our prediction is 10^{-32} e-cm, which lies in the experimental current limits. Further, we obtain constraints for the Yukawa couplings \barξ^{D}_{N,τe} and \barξ^{D}_{N,τμ}. Finally we present an expression which connects the BR(τ\to μγ) and the electric dipole moment of τ-lepton and study the relation between these physical quantities.
We consider low-energy CPT-violating modifications in charged current weak interactions and analyze possible ramifications in muon and antimuon decays. We calculate the lifetime of muon and antimuon with these modifications, and from the result, put bounds on the CPT-violating parameters. Moreover, we elaborate on the muon and antimuon decay rate differentials in electron energy and spatial angle, which entail interesting phenomenological consequences presenting new ways to constrain CPT violation in charged lepton decays.
We study charged lepton flavor-violating (LFV) transitions in the color octet model that generates neutrino mass and lepton mixing at one loop. By taking into account neutrino oscillation data and assuming octet particles of TeV scale mass, we examine the feasibility to detect these transitions in current and future experiments. We find that for general values of parameters the branching ratios for LFV decays of the Higgs and $Z$ bosons are far below current and even future experimental bounds. For LFV transitions of the muon, the present bounds can be satisfied generally, while future sensiti…
The lepton-number-violating decays of singly-charged Higgs bosons H^\pm are investigated in the minimal type-(I+II) seesaw model with one SU(2)_L Higgs triplet Δand one heavy Majorana neutrino N_1 at the TeV scale. We find that the branching ratios {\cal B}(H^+ \to l^+_α{\bar ν}) (for α= e, μ, τ) depend not only on the mass and mixing parameters of three light neutrinos ν_i (for i = 1, 2, 3) but also on those of N_1. Assuming the mass of N_1 to lie in the range of 200 GeV to 1 TeV, we figure out the generous interference bands for the contributions of ν_i and N_1 to {\cal B}(H^+ \to l^+_α{\bar…
We study the radiative lepton flavor violating l_i -> l_jγdecays in the two Higgs doublet model, respecting the Randall Sundrum scenario and estimate the contributions of the KK modes of left (right) handed charged lepton doublets (singlets) on the branching ratios. We observe that the branching ratios are sensitive to the contributions of the charged lepton KK modes.
We consider a neutrino mass generating model which employs a scalar leptoquark, $Δ$, and a scalar diquark, $S$. The new scalars $Δ$ and $S$ carry the standard model $SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y$ quantum numbers $(3,1,-1/3)$ and $(6,1,-2/3)$, respectively. The neutrino masses are generated at the two-loop level, as in the Zee-Babu model\cite{Zee-Babu}, and $Δ/S$ plays the role of the doubly/singly charged scalar in the Zee-Babu model. With a moderate working assumption that the magnitudes of the six Yukawa couplings between $S$ and the down-type quarks are of the same order, strong conne…
New physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model (SM) for neutrino mass mechanism often necessitate the existence of a neutral scalar $H$ and/or doubly-charged scalar $H^{\pm\pm}$, which couple to the SM charged leptons in a flavor violating way, while evading all existing constraints. Such scalars could be effectively produced at future lepton colliders like CEPC, ILC, FCC-ee and CLIC, either on-shell or off-shell, and induce striking charged lepton flavor violating (LFV) signals. We find that a large parameter space of the scalar masses and the LFV couplings can be probed at lepton colliders,…
