We explore the collider relevance of a charge-radius coupling among light mesons in composite Higgs models. In particular, we focus of a coupling of the photon to the composite Higgs and a composite singlet, arising from isospin violation in the underlying theory. This coupling offers a deep probe of the composite nature of the Higgs mechanism, being sensitive to the electromagnetic and weak isospin structure of its constituents. The main collider effect consists in the production of the Higgs boson in association with a light composite pseudo-scalar. We present an exploratory cut-and-count analysis at hadron colliders, like the LHC, showing that an efficient background suppression can be achieved. More sophisticated techniques, however, are necessary to select a sufficient number of signal events, due to the small production rates. This justifies further investigation of this channel, which is highly complementary to other searches for compositeness in the Higgs sector.
In this note we analyse the prospects of a future electron-positron collider in testing a particular realisation of a composite Higgs model encompassing partial compositeness, namely, the 4-Dimensional Composite Higgs Model. We study the main Higgs production channels for three possible energy stages and different luminosity options of such a machine and confront our results to the expected experimental accuracies in the various Higgs decay channels accessible herein and, for comparison, also at the Large Hadron Collider.
We study the signals for composite vector leptoquarks in $e^+ e^-$ colliders (LEP II, NLC, and CLIC) through their effects on the production of jet pairs, as well as their single and pair productions. We also analyze their production in $γe$ and $γγ$ collisions.
In a composite model of the weak bosons the excited bosons, in particular the p-wave bosons, are studied. The state with the lowest mass is identified with the boson, which has been discovered recently at the "Large Hadron Collider" at CERN. Specific properties of the excited weak bosons are studied, in particular their decays into weak bosons and into photons.
We test the sensitivity of a future e+e- collider to composite Higgs scenarios encompassing partial compositeness. Besides the detailed study of the Higgs properties, such a machine will have a rich top-quark physics programme mainly in two domains: top property accurate determination at the $t \bar t$ production threshold and search for New Physics with top quarks above it. In both domains, a composite Higgs scenario can manifest itself via sizable deviations in both cross-section and asymmetry observables. Herein we discuss such a possibility using a particular realisation, namely the 4-Dime…
In this proceeding, we extend a previous analysis concerning the prospects of a future electron-positron collider in testing the 4-Dimensional Composite Higgs Model. In particular, we introduce two motivated benchmarks and study them in Higgs-Strahlung, for three possible energy stages and different luminosity options of such a machine and confront our results to the expected experimental accuracies in the various accessible Higgs decay channels.
Hadron vertices for u, d, s quark flavours are formulated in terms of interacting composite strings. The vertices for emission of pi, K mesons and nucleons are presented.
This Thesis is devoted to the phenomenological analysis at the large hadron collider (LHC), as well at a future electron positron collider, of the 4 dimensional (4D) composite Higgs model (4DCHM), a compelling beyond the standard model scenario where the Higgs state arises as a pseudo Nambu Goldstone boson. The motivations and the main characteristics of the model are summarised and then an analysis of the gauge and Higgs sectors of the 4DCHM is performed. Finally we propose a general framework for the analysis of models with an extended quark sector that we have applied to a simplified compos…
While it is natural for supersymmetric particles to be well within the mass range of the large hadron collider, it is possible that the sparticle masses could be very heavy. Signatures are examined at a very high energy hadron collider and an very high luminosity option for the Large Hadron Collider in such scenarios.

The study of the top quark properties will be an integral part of any particle physics activity at future leptonic colliders. In this proceeding we discuss the possibility of testing composite Higgs scenarios at $e^+e^-$ prototypes through deviations from the Standard Model predictions in $t\bar t$ production observables for various centre of mass energies, ranging from 370 GeV up to 1 TeV. This proceedings draws from Ref. arXiv:1504.05407
We explore the possibility that the right-handed top quark is composite, identifying possible signatures of compositeness and how they might manifest themselves at the LHC and Tevatron. We perform a complete analysis of the dimension six modifications of the top coupling to gluons and find that cancellations among operators in the t\bar{t} rate allow for very low compositeness scales, but this can be drastically improved by looking at kinematic distributions. Turning to the LHC, we examine four top production from a dimension six four-top operator and estimate the LHC with 100 {\rm fb}^{-1} co…
This talk gives a brief introduction to open questions in jet physics and QCD which come to the fore in the high-luminosity regime characterizing the upcoming phase of the Large Hadron Collider and future hadron colliders.
In a composite model of the weak bosons the p-wave bosons are studied. The state with the lowest mass is identified with the boson, which has been discovered at the LHC. Specific properties of the excited bosons are discussed, in particular their decays into weak bosons and photons. Recently a two photon signal has been observed, which might come from the decay of a neutral heavy boson with a mass of about 0.75 TeV. This particle could be an excited weak tensor boson.
We point out that a study of event shapes at hadron colliders allows to explore novel aspects of QCD. These studies are today made easier by the development of a program which automates the resummation.
We consider the production of excited electrons with spin-1/2 at the future SPPC-based electron-proton colliders with center-of-mass energies of $8.4$, $11.6$, $26.6$ and $36.8$ TeV. These exotic particles are predicted in the composite models. We calculate the production cross-sections and concentrate on the photon decay channel of the excited electrons with the process of $ep\rightarrow e^{\star}X\rightarrow eγX$ . The pseudorapidity and transverse momentum distributions of the electrons and photons in the final-state have been plotted in order to determine the kinematical cuts best suited f…
We present a framework to study the interactions among Nambu-Goldstone bosons (NGB), pseudo-NGB (pNGBs) and gauge bosons in Composite Higgs (CH) models at high energies, including operators of order $\mathcal{O}(p^4)$ and $\mathcal{O}(p^2g^2)$ in the chiral expansion and topological terms. The set of (p)NGBs comprises the longitudinal modes of electroweak bosons, the Higgs boson, and possibly other scalar states from the dynamical spontaneous electroweak symmetry breaking. The framework is implemented in a collider simulation tool especially suited for the study of Goldstone Boson Scattering (…
A compilation is given of the pair production cross sections for scalar and vector leptoquarks in the kinematic range of the hadron colliders Tevatron and LHC.
The next generation electron-positron colliders are designed for precision studies of the Standard Model and its extensions, in particular in the Higgs sector. We consider the potential for discovery of composite Higgs models in Higgs pair production through photon collisions. This process is loop-generated, thus it provides access to all Higgs couplings and can show new physics effects in polarized and unpolarized cross-sections starting at relatively low collider energies. It is, therefore, relevant for all electron-positron colliders planned or in preparation. Sizeable deviations from the S…
I discuss the impact of the the coherent parton radiation on semi-inclusive production of hadrons in deep inelastic scattering at lepton-proton colliders. Such radiation can be consistently described in the $b$-space resummation formalism, which was originally developed to improve theoretical description of production of hadrons at $e^+e^-$ colliders and electroweak vector bosons at hadron-hadron colliders. I present the detailed derivation of the resummed cross section and the energy flow at the next-to-leading order of perturbative QCD. The theoretical results are compared to the experimenta…
The theoretical status of Higgs boson and supersymmetric particle production at hadron colliders is reviewed with particular emphasis on recent results and open problems.
To provide context for discussions of experiments at future muon colliders, I survey what is known and what will be known about the top quark and the Higgs boson from experiments at hadron colliders.
We briefly review the recent studies of the behavior of composite systems in magnetic field. The hydrogen atom is chosen to demonstrate the new results which may be experimentally tested. Possible applications to physics of antihydrogen are mentioned.
Two potential sources of tuning exist in composite Higgs models: one comes from keeping the Higgs VEV below the compositeness scale and one comes from keeping the Higgs light after constraints on the top partner masses are applied. We construct a measure that determines whether these tunings are independent or not and combines them appropriately. We perform a comprehensive scan of the parameter space for three explicit models and report the minimum tuning values compatible with existing collider constraints. Tuning values are given as functions of resonance masses and deviations to the Higgs c…
This writeup gives an introduction to the theoretical understanding that lies behind automated resummation. It then discusses its applications to hadron-collider event shapes.
I survey the characteristics of hadron colliders as tools to investigate top-quark physics and to explore the 1-TeV scale of electroweak symmetry breaking.
We report the calculation of next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD corrections in the purely gluonic channel to dijet production and related observables at hadron colliders. Our result represents the first NNLO calculation of a massless jet observable at hadron colliders, and opens the path towards precision QCD phenomenology with the LHC.
We study the flavor-changing decay $h\to τμ$ with $τ=τ^-+τ^+$ and $μ=μ^-+μ^+$ of a Higgs boson at future hadron colliders, namely: a) High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, b) High Energy Large Hadron Collider and c) Future hadron-hadron Circular Collider. The theoretical framework adopted is the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model type III. The free model parameters involved in the calculation are constrained through Higgs boson data, Lepton Flavor Violating processes and the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment; later they are used to analyze the branching ratio of the decay $h\toτμ$ and to evaluate th…
We discuss theoretical aspects of parton distribution functions for very high energy scattering in relation with upcoming measurements in DIS and hadron-hadron collisions.
The current theoretical understanding of anomalous gauge boson couplings is reviewed, and the direct measurement of these couplings in present and future hadron collider experiments is briefly discussed.
We review the recent theoretical progress in single-top physics at hadron colliders. Apart from single-top production within the Standard Model we treat certain aspects of single-top production in beyond Standard Model scenarios.
We present compact analytic expressions for all one-loop helicity amplitudes contributing to ttbar production at hadron colliders. Using recently developed generalised unitarity methods and a traditional Feynman based approach we produce a fast and flexible implementation.
In the framework of the unified compositeness of leptons, quarks and Higgs bosons, the hidden local symmetry \hat H_{loc}= SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y with the heavy composite vector bosons, in addition to the SM gauge bosons, is briefly described. Supplementary hypothesis of the vector boson dominance (VBD) of the SM gauge interactions is considered. It is argued that this should produce the universal dominant residual interactions of the SM composite particles, i.e., all of the fermions and Higgs bosons. Restrictions on the universal residual fermion-fermion, fermion-boson and boson-boson interacti…
In the composite Higgs models, originally proposed by Georgi and Kaplan, the Higgs boson is a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson (pNGB) of spontaneous breaking of a global symmetry. In the minimal version of such models, global SO(5) symmetry is spontaneously broken to SO(4), and the pNGBs form an isospin doublet field, which corresponds to the Higgs doublet in the Standard Model (SM). Predicted coupling constants of the Higgs boson can in general deviate from the SM predictions, depending on the compositeness parameter. The deviation pattern is determined also by the detail of the matter sector. We…
We investigate the discovery potential of Kaluza-Klein gluons as a dijet resonance at hadron colliders with different center-of-mass energies, from 14 TeV to 33 TeV to 100 TeV. We also present the current bounds from dijet searches at UA2, Tevatron, and LHC.
We present here the results for Higgs and Supersymmetry prospective searches at the Large Hadron Collider. We show that for one year at high luminosity, Standard Model and MSSM Higgs should be observed within the theoretically expected mass range. MSUGRA and restricted phenomenological MSSM searches lead to discovery of up to 2.5 TeV squarks and gluinos.
We compute the pair production cross section of two Kaluza Klein modes in the Randall-Sundrum model at $e^+e^-$ and hadron hadron colliders. These processes are interesting because they get dominant contribution from the graviton interaction at next to leading order. Hence they provide a nontrivial test of the low scale gravity models. All the Feynman rules at next to leading order are also presented. These rules may be useful for many phenomenological applications including the computation of higher order loop corrections.
We conduct a detailed numerical analysis of the composite pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone Higgs model based on the next-to-minimal coset $\text{SO}(6)/\text{SO}(5)\cong\text{SU}(4)/\text{Sp}(4)$, featuring an additional SM singlet scalar in the spectrum, which we allow to mix with the Higgs boson. We identify regions in parameter space compatible with all current experimental constraints, including radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, flavour physics, and direct searches at colliders. We find the additional scalar, with a mass predicted to be below a TeV, to be virtually unconstrained by current LH…
The International Linear Collider (ILC) will be able to precisely measure the electroweak couplings of the top in e+e- -> tt~. We compare the limits which can be achieved at the ILC with those which can be obtained in tt~gamma$ and tt~Z production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The quartic Higgs self-coupling is the final measurement in the Higgs potential needed to fully understand electroweak symmetry breaking. None of the present or future colliders are known to be able to determine this parameter. We study the chances of measuring the quartic self-coupling at hadron colliders in general and at the VLHC in particular. We find the prospects challenging.
In this work we seek to compute precisely the rate at which these Higgs particles are produced as a function of the transverse momentum and the rapidity at the Large Hadron Collider. This calculation is carried out to next leading order in the QCD strong coupling $α_s$. In particular, this calculation includes the dominant gluon-initiated mechanism, which is responsible for the majority of the cross section. We work in the infinite top mass approximation, and argue that this is very precise in the domain of applicability.
The theoretical status of squark and gluino production at present and future hadron colliders is reviewed. I shall concentrate on the evaluation of SUSY-QCD corrections to the production cross sections and their phenomenological implications.
The production of a pair of jets with large rapidity separation in hadron-hadron collisions, and of forward jets in deep inelastic scattering, can in principle be used to test the predictions of the BFKL equation. However in practice kinematic constraints lead to a strong suppression of BFKL effects for these processes. This is illustrated using a BFKL Monte Carlo approach.

We review the TeV scale $B-L$ extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (BLSSM) where an inverse seesaw mechanism of light neutrino mass generation is naturally implemented and concentrate on its hallmark manifestations at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The current theoretical predictions for the observables related to the top-quark pair and the single-top productions at hadron colliders are briefly reviewed. The theoretical predictions are compared to the experimental measurements carried out at the Tevatron and the LHC.
Significant colour interference effects are expected in V(=gamma,W,Z)+jet production at hadron colliders. These directly influence the hadronic antenna patterns and can provide a valuable diagnostic tool for probing the nature of the underlying parton subprocesses. Motivated by these ideas, we present quantitative predictions for the distributions of soft particles and jets in W+jet production at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider.
This Thesis is devoted to the study of the phenomenology of the Higgs sector of the minimal $B-L$ extension of the Standard Model at present and future colliders. Firstly, the motivations that call for the minimal $B-L$ extension are summarised. In addition, the model is analysed in its salient parts. Moreover, a detailed review of the phenomenological allowed Higgs sector parameter space is given. Finally, a complete survey of the distinctive Higgs boson signatures of the model at both the Large Hadron Collider and the future linear colliders is presented.
We compute the next-to-leading order corrections in $α_s$ to prompt diphoton production in association with a jet at hadron colliders. We use a next-to-leading order general-purpose partonic Monte Carlo event generator that allows the computation of a rate differential in the produced photons and hadrons.
I investigate the sensitivity of future hadron colliders to di-jet resonances arising from Z' or coloron models. The projected discovery potential and exclusion limits for these resonances is presented in the coupling vs. mass plane, which highlights both the increased mass reach from higher energy machines as well as the improved coupling sensivity from larger luminosity.
We review the status of QCD at hadron colliders with emphasis on precision predictions and the latest theoretical developments for cross sections calculations to higher orders. We include an overview of our current information on parton distributions and discuss various Standard Model reactions such as W/Z-boson, Higgs boson or top quark production.
The determination of the full SUSY QCD corrections to the production of squarks, gluinos and gauginos at hadron colliders is reviewed. The NLO corrections stabilize the theoretical predictions of the various production cross sections significantly and lead to sizeable enhancements of the most relevant cross sections. We discuss the phenomenological consequences of the results on present and future experimental analyses.
