The goal of phaseless compressed sensing is to recover an unknown sparse or approximately sparse signal from the magnitude of its measurements. However, it does not take advantage of any support information of the original signal. Therefore, our main contribution in this paper is to extend the theoretical framework for phaseless compressed sensing to incorporate with prior knowledge of the support structure of the signal. Specifically, we investigate two conditions that guarantee stable recovery of a weighted $k$-sparse signal via weighted l1 minimization without any phase information. We first prove that the weighted null space property (WNSP) is a sufficient and necessary condition for the success of weighted l1 minimization for weighted k-sparse phase retrievable. Moreover, we show that if a measurement matrix satisfies the strong weighted restricted isometry property (SWRIP), then the original signal can be stably recovered from the phaseless measurements.
We study the stable recovery of complex $k$-sparse signals from as few phaseless measurements as possible. The main result is to show that one can employ $\ell_1$ minimization to stably recover complex $k$-sparse signals from $m\geq O(k\log (n/k))$ complex Gaussian random quadratic measurements with high probability. To do that, we establish that Gaussian random measurements satisfy the restricted isometry property over rank-$2$ and sparse matrices with high probability. This paper presents the first theoretical estimation of the measurement number for stably recovering complex sparse signals …
The aim of this paper is to study the stability of the $\ell_1$ minimization for the compressive phase retrieval and to extend the instance-optimality in compressed sensing to the real phase retrieval setting. We first show that the $m={\mathcal O}(k\log(N/k))$ measurements is enough to guarantee the $\ell_1$ minimization to recover $k$-sparse signals stably provided the measurement matrix $A$ satisfies the strong RIP property. We second investigate the phaseless instance-optimality with presenting a null space property of the measurement matrix $A$ under which there exists a decoder $Δ$ so th…
We study the recovery conditions of weighted $\ell_1$ minimization for real-valued signal reconstruction from phaseless compressive sensing measurements when partial support information is available. A strong restricted isometry property condition is provided to ensure the stable recovery. Moreover, we present the weighted null space property as the sufficient and necessary condition for the success of $k$-sparse phaseless recovery via weighted $\ell_1$ minimization. Numerical experiments are conducted to illustrate our results.
This paper addresses recovery of a kernel $\boldsymbol{h}\in \mathbb{C}^{n}$ and a signal $\boldsymbol{x}\in \mathbb{C}^{n}$ from the low-resolution phaseless measurements of their noisy circular convolution $\boldsymbol{y} = \left \rvert \boldsymbol{F}_{lo}( \boldsymbol{x}\circledast \boldsymbol{h}) \right \rvert^{2} + \boldsymbolη$, where $\boldsymbol{F}_{lo}\in \mathbb{C}^{m\times n}$ stands for a partial discrete Fourier transform ($m<n$), $\boldsymbolη$ models the noise, and $\lvert \cdot \rvert$ is the element-wise absolute value function. This problem is severely ill-posed because both …
We study the problem of recovering a signal $x\in\mathbb{C}^N$ from samples of its phaseless periodic short-time Fourier transform (STFT): the magnitude of the Fourier transform of the signal multiplied by a sliding window $w\in \mathbb{C}^W$. We show that if the window $w$ is known, then a generic signal can be recovered, up to a global phase, from less than 4N phaseless STFT measurements. In the blind case, when the window is unknown, we show that the signal and the window can be determined simultaneously, up to a group of unavoidable ambiguities, from less than 4N+2W measurements. In both c…
This paper considers the recovery of continuous signals in infinite dimensional spaces from the magnitude of their frequency samples. It proposes a sampling scheme which involves a combination of oversampling and modulations with complex exponentials. Sufficient conditions are given such that almost every signal with compact support can be reconstructed up to a unimodular constant using only its magnitude samples in the frequency domain. Finally it is shown that an average sampling rate of four times the Nyquist rate is enough to reconstruct almost every time-limited signal.
Phaseless super-resolution refers to the problem of superresolving a signal from only its low-frequency Fourier magnitude measurements. In this paper, we consider the phaseless super-resolution problem of recovering a sum of sparse Dirac delta functions which can be located anywhere in the continuous time-domain. For such signals in the continuous domain, we propose a novel Semidefinite Programming (SDP) based signal recovery method to achieve the phaseless superresolution. This work extends the recent work of Jaganathan et al. [1], which considered phaseless super-resolution for discrete sign…
The problem of recovering a pair of signals from their blind phaseless short-time Fourier transform measurements arises in several important phase retrieval applications, including ptychography and ultra-short pulse characterization. In this paper, we prove that in order to determine a pair of generic signals uniquely, up to trivial ambiguities, the number of phaseless measurements one needs to collect is, at most, five times the number of parameters required to describe the signals. This result improves significantly upon previous papers, which required the number of measurements to be quadra…
In this paper, we studied the problem of beam alignment for millimeter wave (mmWave) communications, in which we assume a hybrid analog and digital beamforming structure is employed at the transmitter (i.e. base station), and an omni-directional antenna or an antenna array is used at the receiver (i.e. user). By exploiting the sparse scattering nature of mmWave channels, the beam alignment problem is formulated as a sparse encoding and phaseless decoding problem. More specifically, the problem of interest involves finding a sparse sensing matrix and an efficient recovery algorithm to recover t…
In the problem of compressive phase retrieval, one wants to recover an approximately $k$-sparse signal $x \in \mathbb{C}^n$, given the magnitudes of the entries of $Φx$, where $Φ\in \mathbb{C}^{m \times n}$. This problem has received a fair amount of attention, with sublinear time algorithms appearing in \cite{cai2014super,pedarsani2014phasecode,yin2015fast}. In this paper we further investigate the direction of sublinear decoding for real signals by giving a recovery scheme under the $\ell_2 / \ell_2$ guarantee, with almost optimal, $\Oh(k \log n )$, number of measurements. Our result outperf…
We consider the task of recovering two real or complex $m$-vectors from phaseless Fourier measurements of their circular convolution. Our method is a novel convex relaxation that is based on a lifted matrix recovery formulation that allows a nontrivial convex relaxation of the bilinear measurements from convolution. We prove that if the two signals belong to known random subspaces of dimensions $k$ and $n$, then they can be recovered up to the inherent scaling ambiguity with $m >> (k+n) \log^2 m$ phaseless measurements. Our method provides the first theoretical recovery guarantee for this prob…

It is known that a high-dimensional sparse vector x* in R^n can be recovered from low-dimensional measurements y= A^{m*n} x* (m<n) . In this paper, we investigate the recovering ability of l_p-minimization (0<=p<=1) as p varies, where l_p-minimization returns a vector with the least l_p ``norm'' among all the vectors x satisfying Ax=y. Besides analyzing the performance of strong recovery where l_p-minimization needs to recover all the sparse vectors up to certain sparsity, we also for the first time analyze the performance of ``weak'' recovery of l_p-minimization (0<=p<1) where the aim is to r…
The support recovery problem consists of determining a sparse subset of variables that is relevant in generating a set of observations. In this paper, we study the support recovery problem in the phase retrieval model consisting of noisy phaseless measurements, which arises in a diverse range of settings such as optical detection, X-ray crystallography, electron microscopy, and coherent diffractive imaging. Our focus is on information-theoretic fundamental limits under an approximate recovery criterion, considering both discrete and Gaussian models for the sparse non-zero entries, along with G…
In this paper, we consider the matrix recovery from rank-one projection measurements proposed in [Cai and Zhang, Ann. Statist., 43(2015), 102-138], via nonconvex minimization. We establish a sufficient identifiability condition, which can guarantee the exact recovery of low-rank matrix via Schatten-$p$ minimization $\min_{X}\|X\|_{S_p}^p$ for $0<p<1$ under affine constraint, and stable recovery of low-rank matrix under $\ell_q$ constraint and Dantzig selector constraint. Our condition is also sufficient to guarantee low-rank matrix recovery via least $q$ minimization $\min_{X}\|\mathcal{A}(X)-…
In the context of compressed sensing, the nonconvex $\ell_q$ minimization with $0<q<1$ has been studied in recent years. In this paper, by generalizing the sharp bound for $\ell_1$ minimization of Cai and Zhang, we show that the condition $δ_{(s^q+1)k}<\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{s^{q-2}+1}}$ in terms of \emph{restricted isometry constant (RIC)} can guarantee the exact recovery of $k$-sparse signals in noiseless case and the stable recovery of approximately $k$-sparse signals in noisy case by $\ell_q$ minimization. This result is more general than the sharp bound for $\ell_1$ minimization when the order o…
We study the recovery of sparse signals from underdetermined linear measurements when a potentially erroneous support estimate is available. Our results are twofold. First, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for signal recovery from compressively sampled measurements using weighted $\ell_1$-norm minimization. These conditions, which depend on the choice of weights as well as the size and accuracy of the support estimate, are on the null space of the measurement matrix. They can guarantee recovery even when standard $\ell_1$ minimization fails. Second, we derive bounds on the number …
In this paper, we propose a general scale invariant approach for sparse signal recovery via the minimization of the $q$-ratio sparsity. When $1 < q \leq \infty$, both the theoretical analysis based on $q$-ratio constrained minimal singular values (CMSV) and the practical algorithms via nonlinear fractional programming are presented. Numerical experiments are conducted to demonstrate the advantageous performance of the proposed approaches over the state-of-the-art sparse recovery methods.
We study the recovery conditions of weighted mixed $\ell_2/\ell_p\,(0<p\leq 1)$ minimization for block sparse signal reconstruction from compressed measurements when partial block support information is available. We show that the block $p$-restricted isometry property (RIP) can ensure the robust recovery. Moreover, we present the sufficient and necessary condition for the recovery by using weighted block $p$-null space property. The relationship between the block $p$-RIP and the weighted block $p$-null space property has been established. Finally, we illustrate our results with a series of nu…
In this paper, we introduce a weighted $\ell_2/\ell_1$ minimization to recover block sparse signals with arbitrary prior support information. When partial prior support information is available, a sufficient condition based on the high order block RIP is derived to guarantee stable and robust recovery of block sparse signals via the weighted $\ell_2/\ell_1$ minimization. We then show if the accuracy of arbitrary prior block support estimate is at least $50\%$, the sufficient recovery condition by the weighted $\ell_2/\ell_{1}$ minimization is weaker than that by the $\ell_2/\ell_{1}$ minimizat…
We address some theoretical guarantees for Schatten-$p$ quasi-norm minimization ($p \in (0,1]$) in recovering low-rank matrices from compressed linear measurements. Firstly, using null space properties of the measurement operator, we provide a sufficient condition for exact recovery of low-rank matrices. This condition guarantees unique recovery of matrices of ranks equal or larger than what is guaranteed by nuclear norm minimization. Secondly, this sufficient condition leads to a theorem proving that all restricted isometry property (RIP) based sufficient conditions for $\ell_p$ quasi-norm mi…
In this paper, it is proved that every $s$-sparse vector ${\bf x}\in {\mathbb R}^n$ can be exactly recovered from the measurement vector ${\bf z}={\bf A} {\bf x}\in {\mathbb R}^m$ via some $\ell^q$-minimization with $0< q\le 1$, as soon as each $s$-sparse vector ${\bf x}\in {\mathbb R}^n$ is uniquely determined by the measurement ${\bf z}$.
Analysis $\ell_1$-recovery refers to a technique of recovering a signal that is sparse in some transform domain from incomplete corrupted measurements. This includes total variation minimization as an important special case when the transform domain is generated by a difference operator. In the present paper we provide a bound on the number of Gaussian measurements required for successful recovery for total variation and for the case that the analysis operator is a frame. The bounds are particularly suitable when the sparsity of the analysis representation of the signal is not very small.
In this paper we study the recovery conditions of weighted $l_{1}$ minimization for signal reconstruction from incomplete linear measurements when partial prior support information is available. We obtain that a high order RIP condition can guarantee stable and robust recovery of signals in bounded $l_{2}$ and Dantzig selector noise settings. Meanwhile, we not only prove that the sufficient recovery condition of weighted $l_{1}$ minimization method is weaker than that of standard $l_{1}$ minimization method, but also prove that weighted $l_{1}$ minimization method provides better upper bounds …
Numerical experiments in literature on compressed sensing have indicated that the reweighted $l_1$ minimization performs exceptionally well in recovering sparse signal. In this paper, we develop exact recovery conditions and algorithm for sparse signal via weighted $l_1$ minimization from the insight of the classical NSP (null space property) and RIC (restricted isometry constant) bound. We first introduce the concept of WNSP (weighted null space property) and reveal that it is a necessary and sufficient condition for exact recovery. We then prove that the RIC bound by weighted $l_1$ minimizat…
Low-rank matrix recovery has found many applications in science and engineering such as machine learning, signal processing, collaborative filtering, system identification, and Euclidean embedding. But the low-rank matrix recovery problem is an NP hard problem and thus challenging. A commonly used heuristic approach is the nuclear norm minimization. In [12,14,15], the authors established the necessary and sufficient null space conditions for nuclear norm minimization to recover every possible low-rank matrix with rank at most r (the strong null space condition). In addition, in [12], Oymak et …
Weighted $\ell_1$-minimization has been studied as a technique for the reconstruction of a sparse signal from compressively sampled measurements when prior information about the signal, in the form of a support estimate, is available. In this work, we study the recovery conditions and the associated recovery guarantees of weighted $\ell_1$-minimization when arbitrarily many distinct weights are permitted. For example, such a setup might be used when one has multiple estimates for the support of a signal, and these estimates have varying degrees of accuracy. Our analysis yields an extension to …
It is well known that $\ell_1$ minimization can be used to recover sufficiently sparse unknown signals from compressed linear measurements. In fact, exact thresholds on the sparsity, as a function of the ratio between the system dimensions, so that with high probability almost all sparse signals can be recovered from iid Gaussian measurements, have been computed and are referred to as "weak thresholds" \cite{D}. In this paper, we introduce a reweighted $\ell_1$ recovery algorithm composed of two steps: a standard $\ell_1$ minimization step to identify a set of entries where the signal is likel…
In this paper, we consider the use of Total Variation (TV) minimization for compressive imaging; that is, image reconstruction from subsampled measurements. Focusing on two important imaging modalities -- namely, Fourier imaging and structured binary imaging via the Walsh--Hadamard transform -- we derive uniform recovery guarantees asserting stable and robust recovery for arbitrary random sampling strategies. Using this, we then derive a class of theoretically-optimal sampling strategies. For Fourier sampling, we show recovery of an image with approximately $s$-sparse gradient from $m \gtrsim_…
Weighted nuclear norm minimization has been recently recognized as a technique for reconstruction of a low-rank matrix from compressively sampled measurements when some prior information about the column and row subspaces of the matrix is available. In this work, we study the recovery conditions and the associated recovery guarantees of weighted nuclear norm minimization when multiple weights are allowed. This setup might be used when one has access to prior subspaces forming multiple angles with the column and row subspaces of the ground-truth matrix. While existing works in this field use a …
This paper studies the problem of recovering a signal vector and the corrupted noise vector from a collection of corrupted linear measurements through the solution of a l1 minimization, where the sensing matrix is a partial Fourier matrix whose rows are selected randomly and uniformly from rows of a full Fourier matrix. After choosing the parameter in the l1 minimization appropriately, we show that the recovery can be successful even when a constant fraction of the measurements are arbitrarily corrupted, moreover, the proportion of corrupted measurement can grows arbitrarily close to 1, provid…
Sparse signal recovery has been dominated by the basis pursuit denoise (BPDN) problem formulation for over a decade. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that outperforms BPDN in finding sparse solutions to underdetermined linear systems of equations at no additional computational cost. Our algorithm, called WSPGL1, is a modification of the spectral projected gradient for $\ell_1$ minimization (SPGL1) algorithm in which the sequence of LASSO subproblems are replaced by a sequence of weighted LASSO subproblems with constant weights applied to a support estimate. The support estimate is derive…
Compressive sensing relies on the sparse prior imposed on the signal of interest to solve the ill-posed recovery problem in an under-determined linear system. The objective function used to enforce the sparse prior information should be both effective and easily optimizable. Motivated by the entropy concept from information theory, in this paper we propose the generalized Shannon entropy function and Rényi entropy function of the signal as the sparsity promoting regularizers. Both entropy functions are nonconvex, non-separable. Their local minimums only occur on the boundaries of the orthants …

In this paper, we study the problem of recovering two unknown signals from their convolution, which is commonly referred to as blind deconvolution. Reformulation of blind deconvolution as a low-rank recovery problem has led to multiple theoretical recovery guarantees in the past decade due to the success of the nuclear norm minimization heuristic. In particular, in the absence of noise, exact recovery has been established for sufficiently incoherent signals contained in lower-dimensional subspaces. However, if the convolution is corrupted by additive bounded noise, the stability of the recover…
This paper study recovery conditions of weighted L1 minimization for signal reconstruction from compressed sensing measurements. A sufficient condition for exact recovery by using the general weighted L1 minimization is derived, which builds a direct relationship between the weights and the recoverability. Simulation results indicates that this sufficient condition provides a precise prediction of the scaling law for the weighted L1 minimization.
In this paper we introduce a nonuniform sparsity model and analyze the performance of an optimized weighted $\ell_1$ minimization over that sparsity model. In particular, we focus on a model where the entries of the unknown vector fall into two sets, with entries of each set having a specific probability of being nonzero. We propose a weighted $\ell_1$ minimization recovery algorithm and analyze its performance using a Grassmann angle approach. We compute explicitly the relationship between the system parameters-the weights, the number of measurements, the size of the two sets, the probabiliti…
In this paper we study the compressed sensing problem of recovering a sparse signal from a system of underdetermined linear equations when we have prior information about the probability of each entry of the unknown signal being nonzero. In particular, we focus on a model where the entries of the unknown vector fall into two sets, each with a different probability of being nonzero. We propose a weighted $\ell_1$ minimization recovery algorithm and analyze its performance using a Grassman angle approach. We compute explicitly the relationship between the system parameters (the weights, the numb…
In this paper, the sufficient condition in terms of the RIC and ROC for the stable and robust recovery of signals in both noiseless and noisy settings was established via weighted $l_{1}$ minimization when there is partial prior information on support of signals. An improved performance guarantee has been derived. We can obtain a less restricted sufficient condition for signal reconstruction and a tighter recovery error bound under some conditions via weighted $l_{1}$ minimization. When prior support estimate is at least $50\%$ accurate, the sufficient condition is weaker than the analogous co…
In the paper, we proposed the Dantzig selector based on the $\ell_{1}-α\ell_{2}$~$(0< α\leq1)$ minimization for the signal recovery. In the Dantzig selector, the constraint $\|{\bf A}^{\top}({\bf b}-{\bf A}{\bf x})\|_\infty \leq η$ for some small constant $η>0$ means the columns of ${\bf A}$ has very weakly correlated with the error vector ${\bf e}={\bf A}{\bf x}-{\bf b}$. First, recovery guarantees based on the restricted isometry property (RIP) are established for signals. Next, we propose the effective algorithm to solve the proposed Dantzig selector. Last, we illustrate the proposed model …
Compressed sensing and its extensions have recently triggered interest in randomized signal acquisition. A key finding is that random measurements provide sparse signal reconstruction guarantees for efficient and stable algorithms with a minimal number of samples. While this was first shown for (unstructured) Gaussian random measurement matrices, applications require certain structure of the measurements leading to structured random measurement matrices. Near optimal recovery guarantees for such structured measurements have been developed over the past years in a variety of contexts. This arti…
The joint-sparse recovery problem aims to recover, from sets of compressed measurements, unknown sparse matrices with nonzero entries restricted to a subset of rows. This is an extension of the single-measurement-vector (SMV) problem widely studied in compressed sensing. We analyze the recovery properties for two types of recovery algorithms. First, we show that recovery using sum-of-norm minimization cannot exceed the uniform recovery rate of sequential SMV using $\ell_1$ minimization, and that there are problems that can be solved with one approach but not with the other. Second, we analyze …
Nuclear norm minimization (NNM) has recently gained significant attention for its use in rank minimization problems. Similar to compressed sensing, using null space characterizations, recovery thresholds for NNM have been studied in \cite{arxiv,Recht_Xu_Hassibi}. However simulations show that the thresholds are far from optimal, especially in the low rank region. In this paper we apply the recent analysis of Stojnic for compressed sensing \cite{mihailo} to the null space conditions of NNM. The resulting thresholds are significantly better and in particular our weak threshold appears to match w…
In this paper we theoretically study exact recovery of sparse vectors from compressed measurements by minimizing a general nonconvex function that can be decomposed into the sum of single variable functions belonging to a class of smooth nonconvex sparsity promoting functions. Null space property (NSP) and restricted isometry property (RIP) are used as key theoretical tools. The notion of \emph{scale function} associated to a sparsity promoting function is introduced to generalize the state-of-the-art analysis technique of the $l_p$ minimization problem. The analysis is used to derive an upper…
In this paper we investigate the reconstruction conditions of nuclear norm minimization for low-rank matrix recovery. We obtain sufficient conditions $δ_{tr}<t/(4-t)$ with $0<t<4/3$ to guarantee the robust reconstruction $(z\neq0)$ or exact reconstruction $(z=0)$ of all rank $r$ matrices $X\in\mathbb{R}^{m\times n}$ from $b=\mathcal{A}(X)+z$ via nuclear norm minimization. Furthermore, we not only show that when $t=1$, the upper bound of $δ_r<1/3$ is the same as the result of Cai and Zhang \cite{Cai and Zhang}, but also demonstrate that the gained upper bounds concerning the recovery error are …
Compressive sensing predicts that sufficiently sparse vectors can be recovered from highly incomplete information. Efficient recovery methods such as $\ell_1$-minimization find the sparsest solution to certain systems of equations. Random matrices have become a popular choice for the measurement matrix. Indeed, near-optimal uniform recovery results have been shown for such matrices. In this note we focus on nonuniform recovery using Gaussian random matrices and $\ell_1$-minimization. We provide a condition on the number of samples in terms of the sparsity and the signal length which guarantees…
This paper establishes new restricted isometry conditions for compressed sensing and affine rank minimization. It is shown for compressed sensing that $δ_{k}^A+θ_{k,k}^A < 1$ guarantees the exact recovery of all $k$ sparse signals in the noiseless case through the constrained $\ell_1$ minimization. Furthermore, the upper bound 1 is sharp in the sense that for any $ε> 0$, the condition $δ_k^A + θ_{k, k}^A < 1+ε$ is not sufficient to guarantee such exact recovery using any recovery method. Similarly, for affine rank minimization, if $δ_{r}^\mathcal{M}+θ_{r,r}^\mathcal{M}< 1$ then all matrices wi…
In this paper, we show that, under the assumption that $\|\e\|_2\leq ε$, every $k-$sparse signal $\x\in \mathbb{R}^n$ can be stably ($ε\neq0$) or exactly recovered ($ε=0$) from $\y=\A\x+\e$ via $l_p-$mnimization with $p\in(0, \bar{p}]$, where \beqnn \bar{p}= \begin{cases} \frac{50}{31}(1-δ_{2k}), &δ_{2k}\in[\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}, 0.7183)\cr 0.4541, &δ_{2k}\in[0.7183,0.7729)\cr 2(1-δ_{2k}), &δ_{2k}\in[0.7729,1) \end{cases}, \eeqnn even if the restricted isometry constant of $\A$ satisfies $δ_{2k}\in[\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}, 1)$. Furthermore, under the assumption that $n\leq 4k$, we show that the range …
In this paper, we bring forward a completely perturbed nonconvex Schatten $p$-minimization to address a model of completely perturbed low-rank matrix recovery. The paper that based on the restricted isometry property generalizes the investigation to a complete perturbation model thinking over not only noise but also perturbation, gives the restricted isometry property condition that guarantees the recovery of low-rank matrix and the corresponding reconstruction error bound. In particular, the analysis of the result reveals that in the case that $p$ decreases $0$ and $a>1$ for the complete pert…
In this paper, we consider using total variation minimization to recover signals whose gradients have a sparse support, from a small number of measurements. We establish the proof for the performance guarantee of total variation (TV) minimization in recovering \emph{one-dimensional} signal with sparse gradient support. This partially answers the open problem of proving the fidelity of total variation minimization in such a setting \cite{TVMulti}. In particular, we have shown that the recoverable gradient sparsity can grow linearly with the signal dimension when TV minimization is used. Recover…
Sparse subspace clustering (SSC) relies on sparse regression for accurate neighbor identification. Inspired by recent progress in compressive sensing, this paper proposes a new sparse regression scheme for SSC via two-step reweighted $\ell_1$-minimization, which also generalizes a two-step $\ell_1$-minimization algorithm introduced by E. J. Candès et al in [The Annals of Statistics, vol. 42, no. 2, pp. 669-699, 2014] without incurring extra algorithmic complexity. To fully exploit the prior information offered by the computed sparse representation vector in the first step, our approach places …
This paper investigates the problem of signal estimation from undersampled noisy sub-Gaussian measurements under the assumption of a cosparse model. Based on generalized notions of sparsity, we derive novel recovery guarantees for the $\ell^1$-analysis basis pursuit, enabling accurate predictions of its sample complexity. The corresponding bounds on the number of required measurements do explicitly depend on the Gram matrix of the analysis operator and therefore particularly account for its mutual coherence structure. Our findings defy conventional wisdom which promotes the sparsity of analysi…
