The Hard Lefschetz Property (HLP) is an important property which has been studied in several categories of the symplectic world. For Sasakian manifolds, this duality is satisfied by the basic cohomology (so, it is a transverse property), but a new version of the HLP has been recently given in terms of duality of the cohomology of the manifold itself in arXiv:1306.2896. Both properties were proved to be equivalent (see arXiv:1311.1431) in the case of K-contact flows. In this paper we extend both versions of the HLP (transverse and not) to the more general category of isometric flows, and show that they are equivalent. We also give some explicit examples which illustrate the categories where the HLP could be considered.
For a complete symplectic manifold $M^{2n}$, we define the $L^{2}$-hard Lefschetz property on $M^{2n}$. We also prove that the complete symplectic manifold $M^{2n}$ satisfies $L^{2}$-hard Lefschetz property if and only if every class of $L^{2}$-harmonic forms contains a $L^{2}$ symplectic harmonic form. As an application, we get if $M^{2n}$ is a closed symplectic parabolic manifold which satisfies the hard Lefschetz property, then its Euler characteristic satisfies the inequality $(-1)^{n}χ(M^{2n})\geq0$.
We study the transversal hard Lefschetz theorem on a transversely symplectic foliation. This article extends the results of transversally symplectic flows (H.K.~Pak, "Transversal harmonic theory for transversally symplectic flows", J. Aust. Math. Soc. 84 (2008), 233--245) to the general transversely symplectic foliation.
We study the properties of the multiplicative structure on valuations on convex sets. We prove a new version of the hard Lefschetz theorem for even translation invariant continuous valuations, and discuss related problems of integral geometry. Then we formulate a conjectural analogue of this result for odd valuations.
We obtain new general results on the structure of the space of translation invariant continuous valuations on convex sets (a version of the hard Lefschetz theorem). Using these and our previous results we obtain explicit characterization of unitarily invariant translation invariant continuous valuations. It implies new integral geometric formulas for real submanifolds in Hermitian spaces generalizing the classical kinematic formulas in Euclidean spaces due to Poincaré, Chern, Santaló, and others.
We establish a Hard Lefschetz Theorem for the de Rham cohomology of compact Vaisman manifolds. A similar result is proved for the basic cohomology with respect to the Lee vector field. Motivated by these results, we introduce the notions of a Lefschetz and of a basic Lefschetz locally conformal symplectic (l.c.s.) manifold of the first kind. We prove that the two notions are equivalent if there exists a Riemannian metric such that the Lee vector field is unitary and parallel and its metric dual $1$-form coincides with the Lee $1$-form. Finally, we discuss several examples of compact l.c.s. man…
It is known that the hard Lefschetz action, together with Kähler identities for Kähler (resp. hyperkähler) manifolds, determines a $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)_{sup}$ (resp. $\mathfrak{sp}(1,1)_{sup}$) Lie superalgebra action on differential forms. In this paper, we explain the geometric origin of this action, and we also generalize it to manifolds with other holonomy groups. For semi-flat Calabi-Yau (resp. hyperkähler) manifolds, these symmetries can be enlarged to a $\mathfrak{so}(2,2)_{sup}$ (resp. $\mathfrak{su}(2,2)_{sup}$) action.
In the literature, there are two different versions of Hard Lefschetz theorems for a compact Sasakian manifold. The first version, due to Kacimi-Alaoui, asserts that the basic cohomology of a compact Sasakian manifold satisfies the transverse Lefschetz property. The second version, established far more recently by Cappelletti-Montano, De Nicola, and Yudin, holds for the De Rham cohomology of a compact Sasakian manifold. In the current paper, using the formalism of odd dimensional symplectic geometry, we prove a Hard Lefschetz theorem for a compact $K$-contact manifold, which implies immediatel…
For a symplectic manifold $(M,ω)$, not necessarily hard Lefschetz, we prove a version of the Merkulov $dδ$--lemma. We also study the $dδ$--lemma and related cohomologies for compact symplectic solvmanifolds.
We prove that on a compact Sasakian manifold $(M, η, g)$ of dimension $2n+1$, for any $0 \le p \le n$ the wedge product with $η\wedge (dη)^p$ defines an isomorphism between the spaces of harmonic forms $Ω^{n-p}_Δ(M)$ and $Ω^{n+p+1}_Δ(M)$. Therefore it induces an isomorphism between the de Rham cohomology spaces $H^{n-p}(M)$ and $H^{n+p+1}(M)$. Such isomorphism is proven to be independent of the choice of a compatible Sasakian metric on a given contact manifold. As a consequence, an obstruction for a contact manifold to admit Sasakian structures is found.
We find a family of five dimensional completely solvable compact manifolds that constitute the first examples of $K$-contact manifolds which satisfy the Hard Lefschetz Theorem and have a model of Tievsky type just as Sasakian manifolds but do not admit any Sasakian structure.
We study the hard Lefschetz property on compact symplectic solvmanifolds, i.e., compact quotients $M=Γ\backslash G$ of a simply-connected solvable Lie group $G$ by a lattice $Γ$, admitting a symplectic structure.
In this paper, we study the twisted basic Dolbeault cohomology and transverse hard Lefschetz theorem on a transverse Kahler foliation. And we give some properties for $Δ_κ$-harmonic forms and prove the Kodaira-Serre type duality for the twisted basic Dolbeault cohomology.
The main goal of this work is to present a detailed study of the foundations of Complex Geometry, highlighting its geometrical, topological and analytical aspects. Beginning with a preliminary material, such as the basic results on holomorphic functions in one or more variables and the definition and first examples of a complex manifold, we move on to an introduction to sheaf theory and its cohomology, an essential tool to the rest of the work. After a discussion on divisors and line bundles we turn attention to Kähler Geometry and its central results, such as the Hodge Decomposition Theorem, …
We extend Donaldson's asymptotically holomorphic techniques to symplectic orbifolds. More precisely, given a symplectic orbifold such that the symplectic form defines an integer cohomology class, we prove that there exist sections of large tensor powers of the prequantizable line bundle such that their zero sets are symplectic suborbifolds. We then derive a Lefschetz hyperplane theorem for these suborbifolds, that computes their real cohomology up to middle dimension. We also get the hard Lefschetz and formality properties for them, when the ambient manifold satisfies those properties.
Complex manifolds with compatible metric have a naturally defined subspace of harmonic differential forms that satisfy Serre, Hodge, and conjugation duality, as well as hard Lefschetz duality. This last property follows from a representation of $sl(2,\mathbb{C})$, generalizing the well known structure on the harmonic forms of compact Kähler manifolds. Some topological implications are deduced.
Using the Hard Lefschetz Theorem for Sasakian manifolds, we find two examples of compact K-contact nilmanifolds with no compatible Sasakian metric in dimensions five and seven, respectively
Let $(X,J)$ be an almost-complex manifold. In \cite{li-zhang} Li and Zhang introduce $H^{(p,q),(q,p)}_J(X)_{\rr}$ as the cohomology subgroups of the $(p+q)$-th de Rham cohomology group formed by classes represented by real pure-type forms. Given a proper, surjective, pseudo-holomorphic map between two almost-complex manifolds we study the relationship among such cohomology groups. Similar results are proven in the symplectic setting for the cohomology groups introduced in \cite{tsengyauI} by Tseng and Yau and a new characterization of the Hard Lefschetz condition in dimension $4$ is provided.
