In this survey we discuss holomorphic $\mathbb{P}^1$-bundles $p: X \to Y$ over a non-uniruled complex compact Kähler manifold $Y$, paying a special attention to the case when $Y$ is a complex torus. We discuss so called Jordan properties of the groups $Aut(X)$ and $Bim(X)$ of its biholomorphic and bimeromorphic automorphisms, respectively.

Uniruled varieties with split tangent bundle

Beauville asked if a compact Kähler manifold with split tangent bundle has a universal covering that is a product of manifolds. We use Mori theory and elementary results about holomorphic foliations to study this problem for projective uniruled varieties. In particular we obtain an affirmative answer for rationally connected varieties in any dimension and uniruled varieties in dimension 4.

Jordan property for groups of bimeromorphic automorphisms of compact Kähler threefolds

Let $X$ be a non-uniruled compact Kähler space of dimension 3. We show that the group of bimeromorphic automorphisms of $X$ is Jordan. More generally, the same result holds for any compact Kähler space admitting a quasi-minimal model.

Birational stability of the cotangent bundle

We define a birational version of the stability of cotangent sheaves for complex projective manifolds, and more generally for smooth orbifolds. We then show, using standard conjectures in birational classification, that these cotangent sheaves are birationally stable, unless the orbifold is uniruled.

Distinguished Line Bundles for Complex Surface Automorphisms

We equate dynamical properties (e.g., positive entropy, existence of a periodic curve) of complex projective surface automorphisms with properties of the pull-back actions of such automorphisms on line bundles. On the order of the automorphism group of foliations

Let $\mathcal F$ be a holomorphic foliation with ample canonical bundle on a smooth projective surface $X$. We obtain an upper bound on the order of its automorphism group which depends only on $K_{\mathcal F}^2$ and $K_{\mathcal F}K_{X}$, provided this group is finite. Here, $K_{\mathcal F}$ and $K_{X}$ are the canonical bundles of $\mathcal F$ and $X$, respectively.

Unipotent Factorization of Vector Bundle Automorphisms

We provide unipotent factorizations of vector bundle automorphisms of real and complex vector bundles over smooth manifolds. This generalises work of Thurston-Wasserstein and Wasserstein for trivial vector bundles. We also address two symplectic cases and propose a complex geometric analog of the problem in the setting of holomorphic vector bundles over Stein manifolds.

Extension of holomorphic bundles to the disc (and Serre's Problem on Stein bundles)

We show how to extend some holomorphic bundles with fifer C^2 and base an open set in C, to bundles on the Riemann Sphere, by an extremely simple technique.
