We solve the two-dimensional hydrodynamic equations of hot accretion flow in the presence of the thermal conduction. The flow is assumed to be in steady-state and axisymmetric, and self-similar approximation is adopted in the radial direction. In this hydrodynamic study, we consider the viscous stress tensor to mimic the effects of the magnetorotational instability for driving angular momentum. We impose the physical boundary conditions at both the rotation axis and the equatorial plane and obtain the solutions in the full $ r-θ$ space. We have found that thermal conduction is indispensable term for investigating the inflow-wind structure of the hot accretion flows with very low mass accretion rates. One of the most interesting results here is that the disc is convectively stable in hot accretion mode and in the presence of the thermal conduction. Furthermore, the properties of wind and also its driving mechanisms are studied. Our analytical results are consistent with previous numerical simulations of hot accretion flow.
Numerical simulations of hot accretion flows have shown that the mass accretion rate decreases with decreasing radius. Two models have been proposed to explain this result. In the adiabatic inflow-outflow solution (ADIOS), it is thought to be due to the loss of gas in outflows. In the convection-dominated accretion flow (CDAF) model, it is explained as because that the gas is locked in convective eddies. In this paper we use hydrodynamical (HD) and magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) simulations to investigate which one is physical. We calculate and compare various properties of inflow (gas with an in…
Hydrodynamics and magnetohydrodynamic simulations of hot accretion flow have indicated that there is an inward decreasing of mass accretion rate with decreasing radius. Consequently, we have a flatter density profile ($ρ\propto r^{-p}$ with $p\propto 1.5-s$ in the case of $\dot{M}\propto r^{s}$, $0 \leq s<1$) compared to the case of a constant accretion rate (($ρ\propto r^{-\frac{3}{2}}$). In order to describe this behavior two models have been proposed: inflow-outflow solution and convection-dominated accretion flows. We have studied the properties of a hot accretion flow in the presence of c…
We investigate the dependency of the inflow-wind structure of the hot accretion flow on the kinematic viscosity coefficient. In this regard, we propose a model for the kinematic viscosity coefficient to mimic the behavior of the magnetorotational instability and would be maximal at the rotation axis. Then, we compare our model with two other prescriptions from numerical simulations of the accretion flow. We solve two-dimensional hydrodynamic equations of hot accretion flows in the presence of the thermal conduction. The self-similar approach is also adopted in the radial direction. We calculat…
Previous hydrodynamical (HD) and magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) numerical simulations of hot accretion flows have shown that the mass accretion rate decreases with decreasing radius. Two models have been proposed to explain this result. In the ADIOS model, the inward decrease of accretion rate is because of the loss of gas in the outflow. In the CDAF model, the gas is assumed to be locked in convective eddies, which results in the inward decrease of the accretion rate. We investigate the nature of inward decrease of accretion rate using HD and MHD simulations. We calculate various properties of i…

We present the two-dimensional inflow-outflow solutions of radiation hydrodynamic (RHD) equations of supercritical accretion flows. Compared with prior studies, we include all components of the viscous stress tensor. We assume steady state flow and use self-similar solutions in the radial direction to solve the equations in $ r-θ$ domain of the spherical coordinates. The set of differential equations have been integrated from the rotation axis to the equatorial plane. We find that the self-similarity assumption requires that the radial profile of density is described by $ ρ(r) \propto r^{-0.5}…
We perform two-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations to study the non-rotating gas flow in the region from 1-1000 parsec. This region connects the galaxy scale and the accretion disk scale. The gas is irradiated by the photons generated by the accretion disk system near the central black hole with $10^8$ solar mass. We assume that the luminosity of the central accretion system is constant and equals to $0.3$ Eddington luminosity. Gas with density higher than $10^{-24} {\rm g \ cm^{-3}}$ is found to be thermally unstable. Two phase, cold and hot, gas flow will form due to thermal instability. We…
Previous works show strong winds exist in hot accretion flows around black holes. Those works focus only on the region close to the black hole thus it is unknown whether or where the wind production stops at large radii. In this paper, we investigate this problem by hydrodynamical simulations. We take into account gravities of both the black hole and the nuclear star clusters. For the latter, we assume that the velocity dispersion of stars is a constant and its gravitational potential $\propto σ^2 \ln (r)$, where $σ$ is the velocity dispersion of stars and $r$ is the distance from the center o…
We perform two-dimensional simulations to study how the wind strength changes with accretion rate. We take into account bremsstrahlung, synchrotron radiation and the Comptonization. We find that when the accretion rate is low, radiative cooling is not important, the accretion flow is hot accretion flow. For the hot accretion flow, wind is very strong. The mass flux of wind can be $\sim 50\%$ of the mass inflow rate. When the accretion rate increases to a value at which radiative cooling rate is roughly equal to or slightly larger than viscous heating rate, cold clumps can form around the equat…
Relativistic Sweet-Parker type magnetic reconnection is investigated by relativistic resistive magnetohydrodynamic (RRMHD) simulations. As an initial setting, we assume anti-parallel magnetic fields and a spatially uniform resistivity. A perturbation imposed on the magnetic fields triggers magnetic reconnection around a current sheet, and the plasma inflows into the reconnection region. The inflows are then heated due to ohmic dissipation in the diffusion region, and finally become relativistically hot outflows. The outflows are not accelerated to ultra-relativistic speeds (i.e., Lorentz facto…
The recent image of our galaxy's supermassive black hole Sgr A* derived from the 7 April 2017 data of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration shows multiple hot spots in its accretion disk. Using the analytical framework, we demonstrate that the observed hot spots may not be disjoint elements but causally linked components ("petals") of one rotating quasi-stationary macro-structure formed in the thermo-vorticial field within the accretion disk.
Numerical simulations of black hole hot accretion flows have shown the existence of strong wind. Those works focus only on the region close to black hole thus it is unknown whether or where the wind production stops at large radii. To address this question, Bu et al. (2016) have performed hydrodynamic (HD) simulations by taking into account the gravitational potential of both the black hole and the nuclear star clusters. The latter is assumed to be $\propto σ^2 \ln(r)$, with $σ$ being the velocity dispersion of stars and $r$ be the distance from the center of the galaxy. It was found that when…
We examine the properties of the outflowing matter from an advective accretion disc around a spinning black hole. During accretion, rotating matter experiences centrifugal pressure supported shock transition that effectively produces a virtual barrier around the black hole in the form of post-shock corona (hereafter, PSC). Due to shock compression, PSC becomes hot and dense that eventually deflects a part of the inflowing matter as bipolar outflows because of the presence of extra thermal gradient force. In our approach, we study the outflow properties in terms of the inflow parameters, namely…
The structure of novel hydrodynamic model of plasmas with the relativistic temperatures consisted of four equations for the material fields is presented for the regime of anisotropic pressure and other tensors describing the thermal effects. Presented model constructed of equation for evolution of the concentration, the velocity field, the average reverse relativistic $γ$ functor, and the flux of the reverse relativistic $γ$ functor, which are considered as main hydrodynamic variables. Four pressure-like tensors (two second rank tensors and one fourth rank tensor) describe the thermal effects.…
We solve the radiation-hydrodynamic (RHD) equations of supercritical accretion flows in the presence of radiation force and outflow by using self similar solutions. Compare with the pioneer works, in this paper we consider power-law function for mass inflow rate as $ \dot{M} \propto r^{s} $. We found that $ s = 1 $ when the radiative cooling term is included in the energy equation. Correspondingly, the effective temperature profile with respect to the radius was obtained as $ T_{\text{eff}} \varpropto r^{-1/2} $. In addition, we investigated the influence of the outflow on the dynamics of the …

We study the dynamics of super-Eddington accretion flows by performing two-dimensional radiation-hydrodynamic simulations. Compared with previous works, in this paper we include the $T_{θϕ}$ component of the viscous stress and consider various values of the viscous parameter $α$. We find that when $T_{θϕ}$ is included, the rotational speed of the high-latitude flow decreases, while the density increases and decreases at the high and low latitudes, respectively. We calculate the radial profiles of inflow and outflow rates. We find that the inflow rate decreases inward, following a power law for…
The choked accretion model consists of a purely hydrodynamical mechanism in which, by setting an equatorial to polar density contrast, a spherically symmetric accretion flow transitions to an inflow-outflow configuration. This scenario has been studied in the case of a (non-rotating) Schwarzschild black hole as central accretor, as well as in the non-relativistic limit. In this article, we generalize these previous works by studying the accretion of a perfect fluid onto a (rotating) Kerr black hole. We first describe the mechanism by using a steady-state, irrotational analytic solution of an u…
Novel structure for relativistic hydrodynamics of classic plasmas is derived following the microscopic dynamics of charged particles. The derivation is started from the microscopic definition of concentration. Obviously, the concentration evolution leads to the continuity equation and gives the definition of particle current. Introducing no arbitrary functions, we consider the evolution of current (which does not coincide with the momentum density). It leads to a set of new function which, to the best of our knowledge, have not been consider in the literature earlier. One of these functions is…

Accretion onto a supermassive black hole of a rotating inflow is a particularly difficult problem to study because of the wide range of length scales involved. There have been broadly utilized analytic and numerical treatments of the global properties of accretion flows, but detailed numerical simulations are required to address certain critical aspects. We use the ZEUS code to run hydrodynamical simulations of rotating, axisymmetric accretion flows with Bremsstrahlung cooling, considering solutions for which the centrifugal balance radius significantly exceeds the Schwarzschild radius, with a…
We present optical spectroscopy obtained with the GTC, VLT and SALT telescopes during the decline of the 2016-2017 outburst of the black hole candidate GRS 1716-249 (Nova Oph 1993). Our 18-epoch data set spans 6 months and reveals that the observational properties of the main emission lines are very variable, even on time scales of a few hours. Several epochs are characterised by P-Cyg (as well as flat-top and asymmetric) profiles in the H$α$, H$β$ and He II ($λ$4686) emission lines, implying the presence of an accretion disc wind, which is likely hot and dense. The wind's terminal velocity ($…

We present three-dimensional hydrodynamic models of radio galaxies interacting with initially relaxed hot atmospheres and explore the significant off-axis radio lobe structures which result under certain conditions. With a focus on the "winged" and "X-shaped" radio galaxy population, we confirm the importance of observed trends such as the connection of wing formation with jets co-aligned with the major axis of the surrounding atmosphere. These wings are formed substantially by the deflection of lobe plasma flowing back from the hot spots (backflow) and develop in two stages: supersonic expans…
We study the observational signatures of magnetically arrested black hole accretion with non-rotating inflow onto a rotating black hole; we consider a range of angles between the black hole spin and the initial magnetic field orientation. We compare the results of our General Relativistic Magneto-Hydrodynamic simulations to more commonly used rotating initial conditions and to the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations of M87. We find that the mm intensity images, polarization images, and synchrotron emission spectra are very similar among the different simulations when post-processed with…
