The thermodynamical study of the universe allow particle production in modified $f(T)$ ($T$ is the torsion scalar) theory of gravity within a flat FLRW framework for line element. The torsion scalar $T$ plays the same role as the Ricci scalar $R$ in the modified theories of gravity. We derived the $f(T)$ gravity models by taking $f(T)$ as the sum of $T$ and an arbitrary function of $T$ with three different arbitrary function. We observe that the particle production describes the accelerated expansion of the universe without a cosmological constant or any unknown "quintessence" component. Also, we discussed the supplementary pressure, particle number density and particle production rate for three cases.
Gravity can be embedded into a renormalizable theory by means of adding quadratic in curvature terms. However, this at first leads to the presence of the Weyl ghost. It is possible to get rid of this ghost if the locality assumption is weakened and the propagator of the graviton is represented by an entire function of the d'Alembertian operator without new poles and zeros. Models of this type admit a cosmological solution describing the $R^2$, or Starobinsky, inflation. We study graviton production after inflation in this model and show that it is negligible despite the presence of the higher …
It is known that probing gravity in the submillimeter-micrometer range is difficult due to the relative weakness of the gravitational force. We intend to overcome this challenge by using extreme temporal precision to monitor transient events in a gravitational field. We propose a compressed ultrafast photography system called T-CUP to serve this purpose. We show that the T-CUP's precision of 10 trillion frames per second can allow us to better resolve gravity at short distances. We also show the feasibility of the setup in measuring Yukawa and power-law corrections to gravity which have substa…
Quantum theory of a test field on a quantum cosmological spacetime may be viewed as a theory of the test field on an emergent classical background. In such a case, the resulting dressed metric for the field propagation is a function of the quantum fluctuations of the original geometry. When the backreaction is negligible, massive modes can experience an anisotropic Bianchi type I background. The field modes propagating on such a quantum-gravity-induced spacetime can then unveil interesting phenomenological consequences of the super-Planckian scales, such as gravitational particle production. T…
We explore the possibility of gravitationally generated particle production in the scalar-tensor representation of $f(R,T)$ gravity. Due to the explicit nonminimal curvature-matter coupling in the theory, the divergence of the matter energy-momentum tensor does not vanish. We explore the physical and cosmological implications of this property by using the formalism of irreversible thermodynamics of open systems in the presence of matter creation/annihilation. The particle creation rates, pressure, temperature evolution and the expression of the comoving entropy are obtained in a covariant form…
The enhancement of the spectrum of primordial comoving curvature perturbation $\R$ can induce the production of primordial black holes (PBH) which could account for part of present day dark matter. As an example of the effects of the modification of gravity on the production of PBHs, we investigate the effects on the spectrum of $\R$ produced by the modification of gravity in the case of G-inflation, deriving the relation between the unitary gauge curvature perturbation $ζ$ and the comoving curvature perturbation $\R$, and identifying a background dependent enhancement function $\E$ which can …
According to the general theory of relativity, time can flow at different rates depending on the configuration of massive objects, affecting the temporal order of events. Recent research has shown that, combined with quantum theory, this gravitational effect can result in events with an indefinite temporal order, which can be tested through the violation of Bell-type inequalities. According to Einstein, we shall assume physical equivalence of a uniform gravitational field and a corresponding acceleration of a reference system. Here we construct a non-gravitational scenario where accelerating p…

We study the instantons describing the production of particles at the ends of codimension-one objects (strings and struts) in $(2+1)$-dimensional Minkowski and de Sitter spaces. A Minkowskian background allows only for systems with vanishing total mass, so that either negative mass particles or negative tension struts are required. On a de Sitter background, on the other hand, we find processes describing the production of string/particle systems with no negative energies involved. We also compute the probabilities of creating and of breaking an infinite cosmic string in de Sitter space. We pe…
Universe heating in $R^2$-modified gravity is considered. The rates of particle production by the scalaron are calculated for different decay channels. Freezing of massive stable relics with the interaction strength typical for supersymmetry is studied. It is shown that the bounds on masses of supersymmetry-kind particles allowing them to form the cosmological dark matter (DM)depend upon the dominant decay mode of the scalaron. In any case the results presented open much wider mass window for DM with the interaction strength typical for supersymmetry.
Multiple scalar fields nonminimally interacting through pure affine gravity are considered to generate primordial perturbations during an inflationary phase. The couplings considered give rise to two distinct sources of entropy perturbations that may not be suppressed in the long wavelength limit. The first is merely induced by the presence of more than one scalar and arises even in the minimal coupling limit. The second source however is restricted to nonminimal interaction. Unlike the case of metric gravity, and due to the absence of anisotropic stresses, the second source disappears for sin…
In this study, we use a single-mode squeezed thermal vacuum state formalism and examine the nature of a massive homogeneous scalar field, minimally coupled to the gravity in the framework of semiclassical gravity in the Bianchi type-I universe. We have obtained an estimate leading solution to the semiclassical Einstein equation for the Bianchi type-I universe shows, each scale factor in its respective direction obeys t^(2/3) power-law expansion. The mechanism of the nonclassical thermal cosmological particle production is also analyzed in the Bianchi type-I universe.
The gravitational production of superheavy dark matter is studied in the context of quintessential inflation. The superheavy particles, whose decay products are baryonic matter and are the responsible for the reheating of the universe after the end of the inflationary period, are not conformally coupled with gravity. On the contrary, dark matter is assumed to be conformally coupled with gravity. We show that the viability of these scenarios requires the mass of the superheavy dark matter to be greater than 8 x 10^{15} GeV.
We consider the framework of quintessential inflation in the warm background which is caused by the dissipation of the scalar field energy density into relativistic degrees of freedom. The dissipation process has important consequences for the evolution both at the levels of background as well as perturbation and allows us to easily satisfy the observational constraints.~Our numerical analysis confirms that the model conforms to observational constraints even if the field-radiation coupling strength is weak. In the warm background, we investigate the post inflationary evolution of relic gravit…
