On Conserved Quantities for the Schwarzschild Black Hole in Teleparallel Gravity

We examine various methods of constructing conserved quantities in the Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity (TEGR). We demonstrate that in the covariant formulation the preferred method are the Noether charges that are true invariant quantities. The Noether charges depend on the vector field $ξ$ and we consider two different options where $ξ$ is chosen as either a Killing vector or a four-velocity of the observer. f(T) Gravity and local Lorentz invariance

We show that in theories of generalised teleparallel gravity, whose Lagrangians are algebraic functions of the usual teleparallel Lagrangian, the action and the field equations are not invariant under local Lorentz transformations. We also argue that these theories appear to have extra degrees of freedom with respect to general relativity. The usual teleparallel Lagrangian, which has been extensively studied and leads to a theory dynamically equivalent to general relativity, is an exception. Generalised nonminimally gravity-matter coupled theory

In this paper, a new generalised gravity-matter coupled theory of gravity is presented. This theory is constructed by assuming an action with an arbitrary function $f(T,B,L_m)$ which depends on the scalar torsion $T$, the boundary term $B=\nabla_μT^μ$ and the matter Lagrangian $L_m$. Since the function depends on $B$ which appears in $R=-T+B$, it is possible to also reproduce curvature-matter coupled models such as $f(R,L_m)$ gravity. The recent detection of GRB 170817A and GW170817 constrains the speed of gravity waves $c_T$ to be that of light, which severely restricts the landscape of modified gravity theories that impact the cosmological evolution of the universe.
