The LHCb collaboration have recently updated their analysis of the resonant $J/ψ\, p$ mass spectrum in the decay $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψ\, p\, K^-$, making use of their combined Run~1 and Run~2 data. In the updated analysis, three narrow states, $P_c (4312)^+$, $P_c (4440)^+$, and $P_c (4457)^+$, are observed. The spin-parity assignments of these states are not yet known. We interpret these narrow resonances as compact hidden-charm diquark-diquark-antiquark pentaquarks. Using an effective Hamiltonian, based on constituent quarks and diquarks, we calculate the pentaquark mass spectrum for the complete $SU (3)_F$ lowest $S$- and $P$-wave multiplets, taking into account dominant spin-spin, spin-orbit, orbital and tensor interactions. The resulting spectrum is very rich and we work out the quark flavor compositions, masses, and $J^P$ quantum numbers of the pentaquarks. However, heavy quark symmetry restricts the observable states in $Λ_b$-baryon, as well as in the decays of the other weakly-decaying $b$-baryons, $Ξ_b$ and $Ω_b$. In addition, some of the pentaquark states are estimated to lie below the $J/ψ\, p$ threshold in $Λ_b$-decays (and corresponding thresholds in $Ξ_b$- and $Ω_b$-decays). They decay via $c \bar c$ annihilation into light hadrons or a dilepton pair, and are expected to be narrower than the $P_c$-states observed. We anticipate their discovery, as well as of the other pentaquark states present in the spectrum at the LHC, and in the long-term future at a Tera-$Z$ factory.
We propose a model for the recently discovered Theta^+ exotic KN resonance as a novel kind of a pentaquark with an unusual color structure: a color triplet (ud) diquark, coupled to a color anti-triplet (ud s-bar) triquark in a relative P-wave. The state has J^P=1/2^+, I=0 and is an antidecuplet of SU(3)_f. A rough mass estimate of this pentaquark is close to experiment.
We analyse the width of the $θ(\frac12^+)$ pentaquark assuming that it is a bound state of two extended spin-zero $ud$-diquarks and the $\bar s$ antiquark (the Jaffe-Wilczek scenario). The width obtained when the size parameters of the pentaquark wave function are taken to be close to the parameters of the nucleon is found to be $\simeq 150$ MeV, i.e. it has a normal value for a $P$-wave hadron decay with the corresponding energy release. However, we found a strong dynamical suppression of the decay width if the pentaquark has an asymmetric "peanut" structure with the strange antiquark in the c…
The antiquark-diquark-diquark model describes pentaquark states both in terms of quarks and hadrons. We discuss pentaquark states with hidden charm $P(\bar c cuud)$ discovered in the $J/Ψp$ spectrum by the LHCb collaboration. We consider three pentaquark states as members of the lowest ($S$-wave) multiplet and discuss the mass splitting scheme. The latest LHCb data for pentaquarks with hidden charm provide an opportunity to make an assumption about the diquark content of the pentaquark states. We give a classification for the LHCb pentaquarks and define recombination channels for these states.
The diquark-diquark-antiquark model describes pentaquark states both in terms of quarks and hadrons. The latest LHCb data for pentaquarks with open charm emphasize the importance of hadron components in the structure of pentaquarks. We discuss pentaquark states with hidden charm $P(\bar c cuud)$ and those with open charm $P(\bar uussc)$ which were discovered recently in LHCb data ($J/Ψp$ and $Ξ_c^+ K^-$ spectra correspondingly). Considering the observed states as members of the lowest (s-wave) multiplet we discuss the mass splitting of states and the dumping of their widths.
In this work we study the Theta(1540) in the framework of QCD sum rules based on (ud)^2\bar{s} diquark clustering as suggested by Jaffe and Wilczek. Within errors, the mass of the pentaquark is compatible with the experimentally measured value. The mass difference between the Theta and the pentaquark with the quantum numbers of the nucleon amounts to 70 MeV, consistent with the interpretation of the N(1440) as a pentaquark.
The $J/ψp$ signals at 4380 MeV and 4450 MeV which were seen by the LHCb collaboration in the decay $Λ^0_b\to K^-J/ψp$ are discussed following the hypothesis of the existence of diquark-diquark-antiquark composite states. The discussed problems concern: (i) estimation of masses and mass splittings for low-lying states, (ii) determination of decay modes in the quark recombination scheme, (iii) unitarity and analyticity constrains for pentaquark propagators, (iv) hadronic deuteron-like components in the diquark-diquark-antiquark multiplet.
In this article, we present the scalar-diquark-scalar-diquark-antiquark type and scalar-diquark-axialvector-diquark-antiquark type pentaquark configurations in the diquark model, and study the masses and pole residues of the $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^\pm$ hidden-charmed pentaquark states in details with the QCD sum rules by extending our previous work on the $J^P={\frac{3}{2}}^-$ and ${\frac{5}{2}}^{+}$ hidden-charmed pentaquark states. We calculate the contributions of the vacuum condensates up to dimension-10 in the operator product expansion by constructing both the scalar-diquark-scalar-diquark-a…
According to QCD, there exists a broken dynamical supersymmetry between an antiquark and a diquark. This supersymmetry can be used to relate the mass of a pentaquark to the mass of an antibaryon by replacing two antiquarks in an antibaryon by two diquarks to form a pentaquark. Using this technique, we find that the mass of an exotic pentaquark with strangeness plus 1 is greater than 1.74 GeV, or at least 200 MeV larger than that of the reported $Θ^+$ pentaquark. Furthermore, there is no reason for the pentaquark to be narrow; on the contrary, it is expected to be so broad that it will be diffi…
We explore the connection between pentaquarks and dibaryons composed of three diquarks in the framework of the diquark model. With the available experimental data on H dibaryon, we estimate the Pauli blocking and annihilation effects and constrain the $P=-$ pentaquark $SU(3)_F$ singlet mass. Using the $Θ^+$ pentaquark mass, we estimate $P=-$ dibaryon mass.
The masses of pentaquarks $uudd\bar s$ are calculated within the framework of a semirelativistic effective QCD Hamiltonian, using a diquark picture. This approximation allows a correct treatment of the confinement, assumed here to be similar to a Y-junction. With only color antitriplet diquarks, the mass of the pentaquark candidate $Θ$ with positive parity is found around 2.2 GeV. It is shown that, if a color sextet diquark is present, the lowest $uudd\bar s$ pentaquark is characterized by a much smaller mass with a negative parity. A mass below 1.7 GeV is computed, if the masses of the color …
The relativistic five-quark equations are found in the framework of the dispersion relation technique. The five-quark amplitudes for the low-lying pentaquarks including the u,d,s-quarks are calculated. The poles of these amplitudes determine the masses of N- and Xi- pentaquarks. The mass spectra of the lowest pentaquarks with the 1/2+,1/2-,3/2+ are calculated. The mass values of the positive and negative parity pentaquarks are determined by the mixing of both 0+ and 1+ diquarks.
In this article, we construct the axialvector-diquark-scalar-diquark-antiquark type and the axialvector-diquark-axialvector-diquark-antiquark type interpolating currents, and study the $J^P={\frac{3}{2}}^\pm$ hidden-charm pentaquark states with the strangeness $S=0,\,-1,\,-2,\,-3$ systematically using the QCD sum rules. The predicted masses of the pentaquark states $P_{uud}^{10\frac{1}{2}}\left({\frac{3}{2}^-}\right)$, $P_{uud}^{11\frac{1}{2}}\left({\frac{3}{2}^-}\right)$ and $P_{uud}^{11\frac{3}{2}}\left({\frac{3}{2}^-}\right)$ are compatible with the experimental value $M_{P_c(4380)}=4380\pm…
Pentaquark baryons are a natural expectation of an extended picture of hadrons where quarks and diquarks are the fundamental units. The parity/mass pattern observed, when compared to that of exotic mesons, appears as the footprint of a compact five-quark structure. What has been learned from the X,Y,Z phenomenology informs about the newly found pentaquark structure and suggests further experimental tests and directions to be explored.
The diquark-triquark model is used to explain charmonium-pentaquark states, i.e., $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$, which were observed recently by the LHCb collaboration. For the first time, we investigate the properties of the color attractive configuration of a triquark and we define a nonlocal light cone distribution amplitude for pentaquark states, where both diquark and triquark are not pointlike, but they have nonzero size. We establish an effective diquark-triquark Hamiltonian based on spin-orbital interaction. According to the Hamiltonian, we show that the minimum mass splitting between $\…
In this work we investigate the consequences of the Jaffe and Wilczek diquark model in the framework of QCD sum rules. An analysis of the Theta^+(1540) as (ud)^2\bar{s} state shows that the mass of the pentaquark is compatible with the experimentally measured value. The mass difference between the Theta^+ and the pentaquark with the quantum numbers of the nucleon amounts to 70 MeV and is consistent with the interpretation of the N(1440) as a pentaquark.
States beyond those expected in the simple constituent quark model are now emerging. I focus on the scalar glueball and its mixing with states in the $q\bar{q}$ nonet, and also on correlations in Strong QCD that may form diquarks and seed $qq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ states. Some models of the pentaquark candidate $Θ(1540)$ are critically discussed.
In this article, we construct both the axialvector-diquark-axialvector-diquark-antiquark type and axialvector-diquark-scalar-diquark-antiquark type interpolating currents, then calculate the contributions of the vacuum condensates up to dimension-10 in the operator product expansion, and study the masses and pole residues of the $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^\pm$ hidden-charm pentaquark states with the QCD sum rules in a systematic way. In calculations, we use the formula $μ=\sqrt{M^2_{P}-(2{\mathbb{M}}_c)^2}$ to determine the energy scales of the QCD spectral densities. We take into account the $SU(3)$ …
In this article, we construct the scalar-diquark-axialvector-diquark-antiquark type interpolating currents, and study the masses and pole residues of the $J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{\pm}$ hidden-charmed pentaquark states with the QCD sum rules. In calculations, we use the formula $μ=\sqrt{M^2_{P}-(2{\mathbb{M}}_c)^2}$ to determine the energy scales of the QCD spectral densities. We obtain the masses of the hidden-charm pentaquark states with the strangeness $S=-1$ and $S=-2$, which can be confronted to the experimental data in the future.
A Bethe-Salpeter-Faddeev (BSF) calculation is performed for the pentaquark $Θ^+$ in the diquark picture of Jaffe and Wilczek in which $Θ^+$ is a diquark-diquark-${\bar s}$ three-body system. Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model is used to calculate the lowest order diagrams in the two-body scatterings of ${\bar s}D$ and $D D$. With the use of coupling constants determined from the meson sector, we find that ${\bar s}D$ interaction is attractive in s-wave while $DD$ interaction is repulsive in p-wave. With only the lowest three-body channel considered, we do not find a bound $ \frac 12^+$ pentaquark …
The LHCb has discovered two new states with preferred $J^P$ quantum numbers $3/2^-$ and $5/2^+$ from $Λ_b$ decays. These new states can be interpreted as hidden charm pentaquarks. It has been argued that the main features of these pentaquarks can be described by diquark model. The diquark model predicts that the $3/2^-$ and $5/2^+$ are in two separate octet multiplets of flavor $SU(3)$ and there is also an additional decuplet pentaquark multiplet. Finding the states in these multiplets can provide crucial evidence for this model. The weak decays of b-baryon to a light meson and a pentaquark ca…
In this article, we study the magnetic moment of the pentaquark state $ Θ^+(1540)$ as diquark-diquark-antiquark ($[ud][ud]\bar{s}$) state with the QCD sum rules in the external weak electromagnetic field (EFSR) and the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSR) respectively. The numerical results indicate the magnetic moment is about $μ_{Θ^+}=-(0.11\pm 0.02)μ_N$ for the EFSR and $μ_{Θ^+}\approx-(0.1-0.5)μ_N$ for the LCSR. As the values obtained from the EFSR are more stable than the corresponding ones from the LCSR, $μ_{Θ^+}=-(0.11\pm 0.02)μ_N$ is more reliable.
In this article, a possible interpretation of the pentaquark candidates recently observed at LHCb is given. We show that the reaction dynamics and the peculare kinematics situation can produce the peak in the spectrum and the sharp phase motion. The mechanism called triangle singularity likely causes the appearance of the new pentaquarks candidates.
I examine the diquark model of pentaquarks that was suggested by Jaffe and Wilczek. Based upon this model, I predict the states Theta(1530), N(1710), Sigma(1880) and Xi(1770) to be members of the same anti-decuplet. Moreover I predict the states N(1440), Lambda(1600), Sigma(1660) and Xi(1950) to be members of the corresponding octet.
In this article, we construct the diquark-diquark-antiquark type interpolating currents, and study the masses and pole residues of the $J^P={\frac{3}{2}}^-$ and ${\frac{5}{2}}^+$ hidden-charmed pentaquark states in details with the QCD sum rules by calculating the contributions of the vacuum condensates up to dimension-10 in the operator product expansion. In calculations, we use the formula $μ=\sqrt{M^2_{P_c}-(2{\mathbb{M}}_c)^2}$ to determine the energy scales of the QCD spectral densities. The present predictions favor assigning the $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$ to be the ${\frac{3}{2}}^-$ an…
We have investigated uudd\sbar pentaquarks by employing quark models with the meson exchange and the effective gluon exchange as qq and q\qbar interactions. The system for five quarks is dynamically solved; two quarks are allowed to have a diquark-like qq correlation. It is found that the lowest mass of the pentaquark is about 1947 -- 2144 MeV. There are parameter sets where the mass of the lowest positive-parity state become lower than that of the negative-parity states. Which parity corresponds to the observed peak is still an open question. Relative distance of two quarks with the attractiv…
$QQ^\prime qq\bar q$ pentaquarks are studied in a potential model, under the hypothesis that they are composite objects of two diquarks and one antiquark. The interaction between two colored objects includes two contributions, one based on the $q\bar q$ potential in QCD, computed in the gauge/string duality approach, and another describing the spin-spin interaction. The model has been extended to investigate pentaquarks with different quark content, as $Qqqq\bar q$ and $Qqqq\bar Q$, the latter including the states observed by LHCb, $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+$, later updated, with a new dat…
We apply the dynamical diquark model to predict the spectrum of hidden-charm pentaquark states in both unflavored and open-strange sectors. Using only Hamiltonian parameters introduced in the tetraquark $S$- and $P$-wave multiplets, the model naturally produces the level spacing supported by the most recent LHCb results for $P_c$ structures. Furthermore, using model inputs obtained from data of hidden-charm, open-strange tetraquarks ($Z_{cs}$), we predict the spectrum of $P_{cs}$ states, including the recently observed $P_{cs}(4459)$. We find all pentaquark candidates observed to date to belon…
With the use of coupling constants determined from the meson sector, we find that ${\bar s}D$ interaction is attractive while $DD$ interaction is repulsive, and there is no bound $\frac 12^+$ pentaquark state. A bound pentaquark $Θ^+$ can only be obtained with unphysically str…
QCD instantons are known to produce deeply bound diquarks which may be used as building blocks in the formation of multiquark states, in particular pentaquarks and dibaryons. We suggest a simple model in which the lowest scalar diquark (and possibly the tensor one) can be treated as an independent ``body'', with the same color and (approximately) the mass as a constituent (anti)quark. In this model a new symmetry between states with the same number of ``bodies'' but different number of quarks appear, in particular the 3-``body'' pentaquarks can be naturally related to decuplet baryons. We esti…
If Jaffe and Wilczek's diquark picture for $Θ_5$ pentaquark is correct, there should also exist a $SU_F$(3) pentaquark octet and singlet with no orbital excitation between the diquark pair, hence $J^P={1/2}^-$. These states are lighter than the $Θ_5$ anti-decuplet and lie close to the orbitally excited (L=1) three-quark states in the conventional quark model. We calculate their masses and magnetic moments and discuss their possible strong decays using the chiral Lagrangian formalism. Among them two pentaquarks with nucleon quantum numbers may be narrow. Selection rules of strong decays are der…
In this work, we employ the light-cone QCD sum rule to calculate the magnetic dipole moments of the $P_c(4440)$, $P_c(4457)$ and $P_{cs}(4459)$ pentaquark states by considering them as the diquark-diquark-antiquark and molecular pictures with quantum numbers $J^P = \frac{3}{2}^-$, $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^-$ and $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^-$, respectively. In the analyses, we use the diquark-diquark-antiquark and molecular form of interpolating currents, and photon distribution amplitudes to obtain the magnetic dipole moment of pentaquark states. Theoretical examinations on magnetic dipole moments of the hi…
We consider exotic baryons with hidden charm as antiquark-diquark-diquark composite systems. Spin and isospin structure of such exotic states is given and masses are estimated. The data for production of pentaquarks in the reaction $Λ_b\to K^-p J/ψ$ are discussed. We suggest that the narrow peak in $pJ/ψ$ spectra at 4450 MeV is antiquark-diquark-diquark state with negative parity, $5/2^{-}(4450)$, while the broad bump $3/2^{+}(4380)$ is the result of rescatterings in the ($pJ/ψ$)-channel. Positions of other pentaquarks with negative parity are estimated.
In this article, we study the scalar-diquark-scalar-diquark-antiquark type $udsc\bar{c}$ pentaquark state with the QCD sum rules, the predicted mass $M_P=4.47\pm0.11\,\rm{GeV}$ is in excellent agreement with the experimental data $ 4458.8 \pm 2.9 {}^{+4.7}_{-1.1} \mbox{ MeV}$ from the LHCb collaboration, and supports assigning the $P_{cs}(4459)$ to be the hidden-charm pentaquark state with the spin-parity $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-$. We take into account the flavor $SU(3)$ mass-breaking effect, and estimate the mass spectrum of the diquark-diquark-antiquark type $udsc\bar{c}$ pentaquark states with …
The LHCb collaboration have recently updated their analysis of the resonant $J/ψp$ mass spectrum in the decay $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp K^-$, making use of their combined Run 1 and Run 2 data. In the updated analysis, three narrow states, $P_c (4312)^+$, $P_c (4440)^+$,and $P_c (4457)^+$, are observed. The spin-parity assignments of these states are not yet known. We interpret these narrow resonances as compact hidden-charm diquark-diquark-antiquark pentaquarks. Using an effective Hamiltonian, based on constituent quarks and diquarks, we calculate the pentaquark mass spectrum for the complete $SU (3)_F$…
This paper calculates the magnetic moments of the hidden-charm strange pentaquark states with a quantum number of $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^{\pm}$, ${\frac{3}{2}}^{\pm}$, ${\frac{5}{2}}^{\pm}$, and ${\frac{7}{2}}^{+}$ in the molecular, diquark-diquark-antiquark, and diquark-triquark models, respectively. Numerical results demonstrate that the magnetic moments change for a different spin-orbit coupling with the same model and when involving different models with the same angular momentum.
A diquark model is used to investigate single charmed baryons. In this model, baryon is composed of two diquarks and an antiquark. Masses of lowest lying states with $J^P= 1/2 ^ \pm$ are obtained. Some masses are smaller than other theoretic predictions which indicates that these baryons of pentaquark structure could be relatively stable. The results also show that $Λ(2882)$ may be a pentaquark with $J^P=1/2^-$ and $Ξ(3125)$ may be a pentaquark with $J^P=1/2^+$.
The mass spectrum of hidden charm pentaquark states composed of two diquarks and an antiquark are calculated by use of an effective Hamiltonian which includes explicitly the spin, color, and flavor dependent interactions. The results show that the $P_c(4312)^+$ and $P_c(4440)^+$ states could be explained as hidden charm pentaquark states with isospin and spin-parity $IJ^P=1/2\left(3/2^-\right)$, the $P_c(4457)^+$ state could be explained as a hidden charm pentaquark state with $IJ^P=1/2\left(5/2^-\right)$, and the $P_{cs}(4459)^+$ state could be explained as a hidden charm pentaquark state wit…
The newly observed $Θ^+$ resonance is believed to be a pentaquark with the constituent quarks $uudd\bar s$. There are a few options for the constituent quark structure. Some advocate diquark-diquark-antiquark $(ud)$-$(ud)$-$\bar s$ while others favor diquark-triquark $(ud)$-$(ud\bar s)$. We use the color-spin hyperfine interaction to examine the energy levels of these structures, and we find that the diquark-diquark-antiquark structure is slight favored. We proceed to write down the flavor triplet and antisextet of the charmed or bottomed exotic baryons with internal $qqqq\bar Q$ quarks. We al…
The field of exotic spectroscopy is extremely rich and productive. Several observations and searches for pentaquark states have been performed in the last 4 years, starting from the LHCb observation in 2015. This is still quite a recent discovery, and possibly the beginning of a new era in both observation of new states and understanding of the QCD binding mechanisms. The most recent results from LHCb and Belle are presented regarding measurements and searches for charm, strange and beauty pentaquarks, along with an introduction on phenomenology of multiquark states.

Starting with the dynamical picture of the exotic $c\bar c$-containing states $XY \! Z$ as the confinement-induced hadronization of a rapidly separating pair of a compact diquark and antidiquark, we describe the pentaquark candidates $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$ in terms of a confined but rapidly separating color-antitriplet diquark $cu$ and color-triplet "triquark" $\bar c (ud)$. This separation explains the relatively small $P_c^+$ widths, despite these 5-quark systems lying far above both the $J/ψ\, p$ and $Λ_c \bar D^{(*)0}$ thresholds. The $P_c^+$ states are predicted to form isospin d…
The masses of $uudd\bar s $, $uudd\bar d$ and $uuss\bar d$ pentaquarks are evaluated in a framework of both the Effective Hamiltonian approach to QCD and spinless Salpeter using the Jaffe--Wilczek diquark approximation and the string interaction for the diquark--diquark--antiquark system. The pentaquark masses are found to be in the region above 2 GeV. That indicates that the Goldstone boson exchange effects may play an important role in the light pentaquarks. The same calculations yield the mass of $[ud]^2\bar c$ pentaquark $\sim$ 3250 MeV and $[ud]^2\bar b$ pentaquark $\sim$ 6509 MeV.
The relativistic five-quark equations are found in the framework of the dispersion relation technique. The solutions of these equations using the method based on the extraction of the leading singularities of the amplitudes are obtained. The five-quark amplitudes for the hidden-charm pentaquarks including the u, d, c - quarks are calculated. The poles of these amplitudes determine the masses of pentaquarks. The masses of pentaquarks with JP=3/2-, 5/2+ are calculated.
The masses of $uudd\bar s $, $uudd\bar d$, and $uuss\bar d$ pentaquarks are evaluated in a framework of both the Effective Hamiltonian approach to QCD and spinless Salpeter using the Jaffe-Wilczek diquark approximation and the string interaction for the diquark-diquark-antiquark system. The masses of the light pentaquarks are found to be in the region above 2 GeV. The similar calculations yield the mass of $[ud]^2\bar c$ pentaquark $\sim$ 3250 MeV and $[ud]^2\bar b$ pentaquark $\sim$ 6509 MeV.
The magnetic moment of a baryon state is an equally important dynamical observable as its mass, which encodes crucial information of its underlying structure. According to the different color-flavor structure, we have calculated the magnetic moments of the hidden-charm pentaquark states with $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^{\pm}$, ${\frac{3}{2}}^{\pm}$, ${\frac{5}{2}}^{\pm}$ and ${\frac{7}{2}}^{+}$ in the molecular model, the diquark-triquark model and the diquark-diquark-antiquark model respectively. Although a good description for the pentaquark mass spectrum and decay patterns has been obtained in all t…
The discovery of the baryonic states $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$ by the LHCb collaboration has evoked a lot of theoretical interest. These states have the minimal quark content $c \bar{c} u u d$. Interpreted as hidden charm diquark-diquark-antiquark baryons, the assigned spin and angular momentum quantum numbers are $P_c^+(4380)= \{\bar{c} [cu]_{s=1} [ud]_{s=1}; L_{\mathcal{P}}=0, J^{\rm P}=\frac{3}{2}^- \}$ and $P_c^+(4450)= \{\bar{c} [cu]_{s=1} [ud]_{s=0}; L_{\mathcal{P}}=1, J^{\rm P}=\frac{5}{2}^+ \}$, where $s=0,1$ are the spins of the diquarks and $L_{\mathcal{P}}=0,1$ are the orbital…
We consider the ${\bar D}^{(*)}Σ_c^{(*)}$ states, together with $J/ψN$ and other coupled channels, and take an interaction consistent with heavy quark spin symmetry, with the dynamical input obtained from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach. By fitting only one parameter to the recent three pentaquark states reported by the LHCb collaboration, we can reproduce the three of them in base to the mass and the width, providing for them the quantum numbers and approximate molecular structure as $1/2^-$ $\bar{D} Σ_c$, $1/2^-$ $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$, and $3/2^-$ $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$, and isospin $I=1/…
The newly measurement of production fractions of $P_c$ states by LHCb collaboration have put restriction on their branching ratios of $J/ψp$ decay, thus constraining their photoproduction in $γp\to J/ψp$ reaction. We show the tension between LHCb results and the current experiments in search of $P_c$ photoproduction. We also find that the present information of branching ratios of $P_c\to J/ψp$ has already confronted sharply with the models which study the nature of $P_c$.
We interpret the newly discovered pentaquark $P_c(4450)$ as a bound state of charmonium $ψ(2S)$ and the nucleon. The binding potential is due to charmonium-nucleon interaction that in the heavy quark approximation is proportional to the product of the charmonium chromoelectric polarizability and the nucleon energy-momentum distribution. We use the large $N_c$ expansion to estimate the quarkonium polarizability and calculate the nucleon properties in the framework of the mean-field picture of light baryons. Two almost degenerate states $J^P=(1/2)^-$ and $J^P=(3/2)^-$ are predicted at the positi…
Recent experimental evidence for the Theta^+(1540) has given rise to much theoretical interest in exotic baryons. The Theta^+ is a baryon that has strangeness S=+1, meaning that it contains an anti-strange quark. Thus it cannot be constructed from three quarks, unlike all other known baryons; it needs at least an extra quark-antiquark pair. It is usually modeled as a pentaquark state in the 10 bar representation of flavor SU(3), with flavor content \bar{s}uudd. This thesis considers possible heavy pentaquarks, in which the antiquark is charmed or bottom rather than strange. In the context of t…
Non-strange and strange pentaquaks with hidden charm are considered as diquark-diquark-antiquark composite systems. Spin and isospin content of such exotic states is discussed and masses are evaluated.
We explore the consequences of heavy flavour, heavy quark spin and heavy antiquark-diquark symmetries for hadronic molecules within an effective field theory framework.. Owing to heavy antiquark-diquark symmetry, the doubly heavy baryons have approximately the same light-quark structure as the heavy antimesons. As a consequence, the existence of a heavy meson-antimeson molecule implies the possibility of a partner composed of a heavy meson and a doubly-heavy baryon. In this regard, the D\bar D* molecular nature of the X(3872) will hint at the existence of several baryonic partners with isospin…
New LHCb Collaboration results on pentaquarks with hidden charm [1] are discussed. These results fit nicely in the hadrocharmonium pentaquark scenario [2,3]. In the new data the old LHCb pentaquark $P_c(4450)$ splits into two states $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$. We interpret these two almost degenerate hadrocharmonium states with $J^P=1/2^-$ and $J^P=3/2^-$ as a result of hyperfine splitting between hadrocharmonium states predicted in [2]. It arises due to QCD multipole interaction between color-singlet hadrocharmonium constituents. We improve the theoretical estimate of hyperfine splitting [2,…
We study the stability of the different quark substructures in a quark cluster approach to pentaquark states considering the color-magnetic spin-spin interactions between quarks. The most likely configuration is found to be a triquark-diquark one where the two quarks of the diquark are coupled to spin zero and anti-triplet representations of flavor and color, and the triquark has spin one-half and belongs to the triplet representation of color and to anti-sextet of flavor. To ensure total antisymmetry under the interchange of identical particles, triquark and diquark are in relative p-wave. Us…
Probing the electromagnetic structure of the $P_c(4337)^+$ pentaquark: Insights from a diquark-diquark-antiquark picture for $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^-$ and $\frac{3}{2}^-$ states
In this article, we construct the scalar-diquark-scalar-diquark-antiquark type current to study the ground state triply charmed pentaquark states with the QCD sum rules. We separate the contributions of the negative-parity and positive parity triply charmed pentaquark states explicitly, and take the energy scale formula $μ=\sqrt{M^2_{P}-(3{\mathbb{M}}_c)^2}$ to determine the optimal energy scales of the QCD spectral densities. The predicted pentaquark masses can be confronted to the experimental data in the future.
