The properties of the strongly intensive variable characterizing correlations between the number of particles in two separated rapidity interval in pp interactions at LHC energies are studied in the framework of the string fusion model. We perform the MC simulations of string distributions in the impact parameter plane to take into account the experimental conditions of pp collisions. We account the string fusion processes, leading to the formation of string clusters, embedding a finite lattice (a grid) in the impact parameter plane. As a result, we found the dependence of this variable both on the distance between the centers of the observation windows and their width for the minbias pp collisions at several initial energies. Analyzing these dependencies we can extract the important information on the properties of string clusters. We show that in pp collisions at LHC energies the string fusion effects have a significant impact on the behavior of this strongly intensive variable. The role of these effects is increasing with the initial energy and centrality of collisions. In particular, we found that the increase of this variable with initial energy takes place due to the growth of the portion of the fused string clusters in string configurations arising in pp interactions.
The several types of strongly intensive correlation variables are studied in nuclear collisions at LHC energy. These quantities are expected not to depend on centrality class width. They have been calculated in the dipole-based parton-string Monte Carlo model with string fusion. The centrality dependence of the mean transverse momentum correlation coefficient and strongly intensive quantity $Σ$ between multiplicity and $P_T$ have been obtained. Dynamical charge fluctuation $ν_{dyn}$ has been also calculated and compared with experimental data. It is shown that string fusion improves agreement …
DPMJET-III with chain fusion is used to calculate inclusive distributions of Pb-Pb collisions at LHC energies. We present rapidity distributions as well as scaled multiplicities at mid-rapidity as function of the collision energy and the number of participants.
The production of Z bosons via Vector Boson Fusion at the LHC collider at 10 TeV centre-of-mass energy has been studied. The aim is to investigate the possibility to isolate a known Standard Model process to be used as reference for the measurement of the detector performance for the search of the Higgs Boson produced via Vector Boson Fusion. The signal to background ratio has been estimated considering only the dominant sources of background.
The contribution of gg->H+jets production process to the vector boson fusion production of the Higgs boson, VV->H, at LHC was evaluated with the ALPGEN generator and the PYTHIA shower Monte Carlo including a jet-parton matching procedure. After the experimental like event selections applied at PYTHIA particle level, the contribution was found to be 4-5 % for a Higgs boson mass of 120 GeV.
We demonstrate that an LHC Higgs search in weak boson fusion production with subsequent decay to weak boson pairs is robust against extensions of the Standard Model or MSSM involving a large number of Higgs doublets. We also show that the transverse mass distribution provides unambiguous discrimination of a continuum Higgs signal from the Standard Model.

The search for the Higgs boson is one of the main physics goals of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and its two multi-purpose experiments, ATLAS and CMS. Vector boson fusion is the second largest production process for a standard model Higgs boson at the LHC and offers excellent means for background suppression. This paper gives an overview of the prospects of Higgs boson searches using vector boson fusion at the LHC. For a standard model Higgs boson, the decay channels H->tautau, H->WW and H->gammagamma are discussed. The discovery potential in the framework of the MSSM is summarized.
Weak boson fusion is a copious source of intermediate mass Higgs bosons at the LHC, with a rate sigma*B(H -> gamma gamma) of up to 9 fb. The additional very energetic forward jets in these events provide for a unique signature. A parton level analysis of the dominant backgrounds demonstrates that this channel allows the observation of H -> gamma gamma in a low background environment, with modest luminosity.
We compute the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the gluon-fusion subprocess of diphoton-plus-jet production at the LHC. We compute fully differential distributions by combining two-loop virtual corrections with one-loop real radiation using antenna subtraction to cancel infrared divergences. We observe significant corrections at NLO which demonstrate the importance of combining these corrections with the quark-induced diphoton-plus-jet channel at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO).
We clarify the role of vector boson fusion (VBF) in the production of heavy vector triplets at the LHC and the HL-LHC. We point out that the presence of VBF production leads to an unavoidable rate of Drell-Yan (DY) production and highlight the subtle interplay between the falling parton luminosities and the increasing importance of VBF production as the heavy vector mass increases. We discuss current LHC searches and HL-LHC projections in di-boson and di-lepton final states and demonstrate that VBF production outperforms DY production for resonance masses above 1 TeV in certain regions of the …
Higgs boson production in association with two tagging jets will be mediated by electroweak vector boson fusion and by gluon fusion processes at the CERN LHC. The characteristic distributions for the gluon fusion process are analyzed for the $H\to W^+W^-$ signal at $m_H=160$ GeV, with subsequent leptonic decay of the $W$-pair. The dominant backgrounds from top-quark pair production, $WWjj$ production and vector boson fusion processes can be suppressed to a level of $S/B\approx 1/4$, yielding a highly significant gluon fusion signal with 30 fb$^{-1}$. Analysis of the azimuthal angle correlation…
Heavy charged lepton productions via gluon fusion at the LHC are revisited. Full loop calculations are adopted with an updated parton distribution function and electroweak data. Including contribution from new generation quarks in the loop, pair production of the sequential heavy lepton via gluon fusion at the LHC dominates over that via the Drell-Yan mechanism in some heavy lepton mass range. Exotic lepton single production of vector-like lepton extended models is also calculated. In the later case, the gluon fusion mechanism via the Higgs exchange is emphasized. Our numerical results for bot…
A DPMJET-III model (DPMJET-III-2011) with chain fusion adjusted to include energy.dependent parameters is used to calculate inclusive distributions in p-p collisions at LHC energies. Presented are charged hadrons rapidity distributions, transverse momentum distributions, multiplicity distributions as well as multiplicities at mid-rapidity as function of the collision energy. For hadrons with strangeness we present cms-rapidity distributions and transverse momentum distributions. With the considered merely energy-dependent adjustments the obtained agreement with the transversal Λand Ξdistributi…
Vector boson fusion (VBF) processes at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) provide a unique opportunity to search for new physics with electroweak couplings. A feasibility study for the search of supersymmetric dark matter in the final state of two VBF jets and large missing transverse energy is presented at 14 TeV. Prospects for determining the dark matter relic density are studied for the cases of Wino and Bino-Higgsino dark matter. The LHC could probe Wino dark matter with mass up to approximately 600 GeV with a luminosity of 1000 fb$^{-1}$.
We point out that slepton pairs produced via gauge boson fusion in anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking (AMSB) model have very characteristic and almost clean signal at the Large Hadron Collider. In this article, we discuss how one lepton associated with missing energy and produced in between two high-$p_T$ and high-mass forward jets can explore quite heavy sleptons in this scenario.
We consider gluon-fusion and weak-boson fusion production of Higgs plus two jets in pp collisions at sqrt{s}=14 TeV (LHC) and sqrt{s}=50, 100, 200 TeV (VLHC). We give cross sections for Higgs masses between 115 GeV and 200 GeV, and discuss the experimental cuts that should be applied in order to enhance the weak-boson fusion contribution with respect to the gluon-fusion background.
We have calculated one-loop amplitudes for the production of Higgs boson in association with two electroweak bosons ($H,γ,Z$) via gluon-gluon fusion. We present preliminary results for the total cross section at 8, 13 and 100 TeV center-of-mass energies at $pp$ colliders. We study the interference effect and, also comment on the effect of new physics in terms of anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson in these processes.
We present a study of the Higgs production at the LHC via Weak Boson Fusion, with the Higgs boson decaying into a b-quark pair. A detailed partonic LO calculation of all the potential backgrounds is performed. We conclude that this channel for Higgs production can be extracted from the backgrounds, and present our estimates of the accuracy in the determination of the Hbb Yukawa coupling.
We study central Z-boson production accompanied by rapidity gaps on either side as a way to gauge Higgs weak boson fusion production at the LHC. We analyse the backgrounds for the bb-decay mode and show that these can be substantially reduced. Special attention is paid to the evaluation of the gap survival factor, which is the major source of theoretical uncertainty in the rate of H and Z central production events with rapidity gaps.
In this paper we briefly review the LHC discovery potential of a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson of the NMSSM, $a_1$, produced in the gluon fusion $gg\to a_1$ , bottom-quark fusion $b\bar b\to a_1$ and bottom-gluon fusion $bg\to ba_1$. We also review the LHC discovery potential of the next-to-lightest CP-even Higgs boson $h_2$ being the non-SM-like Higgs, decaying either into two light CP-odd Higgs bosons $a_1 a_1$ or into a light $a_1$ and the $Z$ gauge boson through the gluon fusion $gg \to h_2$ in the 4$τ$ final state. We find that the light $a_1$ can be detected at the LHC in a variety of p…
Higgs production in association with three jets via gluon fusion (GF) is an important channel for the measurement of the CP-properties of the Higgs particle at the LHC. In this letter, we go beyond the heavy top effective theory approximation and include at LO the full mass dependence of the top- and bottom-quark contributions. We consider the dominant sub-channel gg -> H ggg which involves the manipulation of massive rank-5 hexagon integrals. Furthermore, we present results for several differential distributions and show deviations from the effective theory as large as 100% at high pT for lig…
We present a complete calculation of weak boson fusion production of colorless supersymmetric particles at the LHC, using the new matrix element generator SUSY-MadGraph. The cross sections are small, generally at the attobarn level, with a few notable exceptions which might provide additional supersymmetric parameter measurements. We discuss in detail how to consistently define supersymmetric weak couplings to preserve unitarity of weak gauge boson scattering amplitudes to fermions, and derive sum rules for weak supersymmetric couplings.
Dilepton production in proton-proton collision through $γγ$-fusion with one proton scattered elastically while the second produces a hadron jet is considered. Semi-analytical formulas describing the cross section of a muon pair production are presented.
Deviations from SM expectations in the Higgs sector can be parameterized by an effective Lagrangian. The corresponding anomalous couplings have been implemented in a Monte Carlo program for Higgs production in vector boson fusion, at NLO QCD accuracy. It allows to study anomalous coupling effects for production and decay of the Higgs boson. We analyze deviations allowed by LEP data and study a new azimuthal angle variable which directly measures the interference between CP-even, CP-odd and SM couplings.
We study the observability of the $h\to μ^+μ^-$ decay in the Standard Model and the MSSM at the LHC. The observation of the $hμμ$ coupling is important to determine whether the Higgs particle that generates mass for the weak bosons is also responsible for mass generation of the second generation of fermions. We find that the signal via the gluon fusion channel is comparable to that from the weak-boson fusion. By combining these two channels, observing $h\to μ^+μ^-$ is feasible at the LHC with a delivered luminosity of $300 fb^{-1}$ at $3σ$ statistical significance for 110 GeV $<m_h<140$ GeV in…
The exclusive production pp->pXp is known to be one of the most clean channels at the LHC. We investigate the potential of processes pp -> p l-l+ p and pp-> p gamma gamma p to probe scalar and tensor unparticles by considering three different forward detector acceptances; 0.0015<xi<0.15, 0.0015<xi<0.5 and 0.1<xi<0.5. We obtain 95% confidence level sensitivity limits on the unparticle couplings for various integrated luminosities.
We demonstrate that the investigations of the forward-backward correlations between intensive observables enable to obtain more clear signal about the initial stage of hadronic interaction, e.g. about the process of string fusion, compared to usual forward-backward multiplicity correlations. As an example, the correlation between mean-event transverse momenta of charged particles in separated rapidity intervals is considered. We performed calculations in the framework of dipole-based Monte Carlo string fusion model. We obtained the dependence of the correlation strength on the collision centra…
Photon-pair direct or jet-associated productions are important for relevant standard model measurement, Higgs and new physics searches at the LHC. The loop-induced gluon-fusion process gg -> γγg, which although formally contributes only at the next-to-next-to-leading order to γγj productions, may get enhanced by the large gluon flux at the LHC. We have checked and confirmed previous results on gg -> γγ, γγg at one loop, using now the traditional Feynman diagram based approach and taking into account the quark mass effects, and further updated them for the 7 and 14 TeV LHC with new inputs and s…
We report calculations of the gluon induced Zg and Zgg productions in the Standard Model at the LHC operating at both 7 TeV and 14 TeV collision energy. We present total cross sections and differential distributions of the processes and compare them with the leading and next-to-leading order QCD pp -> Z+1 jet, Z+2 jets results. Our results show that the gluon induced Zg and Zgg productions contribute to pp -> Z+1 jet, Z+2 jets at 1% level.
We investigate the observability of the lightest Higgs boson in the gluon-fusion channel at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model with explicit CP-violating mixing among three neutral Higgs bosons. The lightest Higgs boson with its mass less than 130 GeV can be detected at the LHC via its gluon-fusion production followed by the decay into two photons. The explicit CP violation can suppress both the production cross section and the two-photon decay branching fraction so significantly that the signal cross section may be more than ten times smaller tha…
In the MSSM weak boson fusion produces the two CP even Higgs bosons with a combined strength equivalent to the production of the Standard Model Higgs boson. The tau tau decay mode --- supplemented by gamma gamma --- provides a highly significant signal for at least one of the CP even Higgs bosons at the LHC with reasonable luminosity. The accessible parameter space covers the entire physical range which will be left unexplored by LEP2.
We present a next-to-leading-order QCD calculation for e+νeμ+νμjj production in vector-boson fusion, i.e. the scattering of two positively charged W bosons at the LHC. We include the complete set of electroweak leading-order diagrams for the six-particle final state and quantitatively assess the size of the s-channel and interference contributions in VBF kinematics. The calculation uses the complex-mass scheme to describe the W-boson resonances and is implemented into a flexible Monte Carlo generator. Using a dynamical scale based on the transverse momenta of the jets, the QCD corrections stay…
Strangeness and baryon enhancement in heavy ion collisions are discussed in the framework of the String Fusion Model. The Monte Carlo version of this model is shown to reasonably reproduce three of the features that have been pointed out as evidences of the finding of the Quark Gluon Plasma. Namely hyperon/antihyperon enhancement, dependence of the slope of the $p_{T}$ distributions on the mass of the produced particles and on the centrality of the collision, are described. Predictions for RHIC and LHC energies are presented.
At the LHC, the processes with several particles in the final state occur routinely. These processes provide a new domain to test the Standard Model of particle physics. Due to large gluon luminosity at the LHC, gluon initiated processes will be quite important. We study the production of multi-vector bosons via gluon fusion. In particular we consider the process $ g g \to g γZ $ and compute its cross-section at hadron colliders.
We study central Z-boson production accompanied by rapidity gaps on either side as a way to gauge Higgs weak boson fusion production at the LHC. We analyse the possible backgrounds for the bb-decay mode and show that these can be substantially reduced. Special attention is paid to the evaluation of the gap survival factor, which is the major source of theoretical uncertainty in the rate of H, Z and W central production events with rapidity gaps.
Radiative corrections of strong and electroweak interactions are presented at next-to-leading order for Higgs-boson production in the weak-boson-fusion channel at the LHC. The calculation includes all weak-boson fusion and quark-antiquark annihilation diagrams as well as all related interferences. The electroweak corrections, which also include real corrections from incoming photons and leading heavy-Higgs-boson effects at two-loop order, are of the same size as the QCD corrections, viz. typically at the level of 5-10% for a Higgs-boson mass up to \sim 700 GeV. In general, they do not simply r…
Pair production of Z bosons in association with a hard jet is an important background for Higgs particle or new physics searches at the LHC. The loop-induced gluon-fusion process gg > ZZg contributes formally only at the next-to-next-to-leading order. Nevertheless, it can get enhanced by the large gluon flux at the LHC, and thus should be taken into account in relevant experimental searches. We provide the details and results of this calculation, which involves the manipulation of rank-5 pentagon integrals. Our results show that the gluon-fusion process can contribute more than 10% to the next…
A hypothetical scalar mixed with the standard model Higgs appears in few contexts of new physics. This study addresses the question what mass range is in the reach of $14$ TeV LHC given different magnitudes of mixing angle $α$, where event simulations are based on production from vector boson fusion channel and decays into SM leptons through ${\rm WW}$ or ${\rm ZZ}$. It indicates that heavy scalar mass up to $539$ GeV and $937$ GeV can be excluded by integrated luminosity of $300$ $\rm{fb}^{-1}$ and $3000$ $\rm{fb}^{-1}$ respectively for $\sin^{2}α$ larger than $0.04$.
The vector boson fusion (VBF) event topology at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) allows efficient suppression of dijet backgrounds and is therefore a promising target for new physics searches. We consider dark matter models which interact with the Standard Model through the electroweak sector: either through new scalar and pseudoscalar mediators which can be embedded into the Higgs sector, or via effective operators suppressed by some higher scale, and therefore have significant VBF production cross-sections. Using realistic simulations of the ATLAS and CMS analysis chain, including estimates o…
Weak boson fusion is a copious source of intermediate mass Higgs bosons at the LHC. The additional very energetic forward jets in these events provide for powerful background suppression tools. We analyze the $H \to ττ$ decay mode for the Standard Model Higgs boson. A parton level analysis of the dominant physics backgrounds (mainly $Z \to ττ$ and Drell-Yan production of $τ$'s) and of reducible backgrounds (from $W+$ jet and $b\bar{b}$ production in association with two jets and subsequent leptonic decays) demonstrates that this channel allows the observation of $H \to ττ$ in a low background …
The radiative corrections of the strong and electroweak interactions are calculated at next-to-leading order for Higgs-boson production in the weak-boson-fusion channel at hadron colliders. Specifically, the calculation includes all weak-boson fusion and quark--antiquark annihilation diagrams to Higgs-boson production in association with two hard jets, including all corresponding interferences. The results on the QCD corrections confirm that previously made approximations of neglecting s-channel diagrams and interferences are well suited for predictions of Higgs production with dedicated vecto…
We study the features of the additional Higgs bosons in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model where the lightest beyond Standard Model Higgs boson does not dominantly couple to up-type quarks. The new state is dominantly singlet-like while it can also accommodate a small down-type Higgs component. The gluon-gluon fusion cannot be adequate enough for such a Higgs production. We show that the vector-boson fusion may become the leading production mechanism to probe this new scalar at the LHC. Using the existing 13 TeV LHC data for an integrated luminosity $36.1~fb^{-1}$, we show the L…
We propose a new technique for determining the spin of new massive particles that might be discovered at the Large Hadron Collider. The method relies on pair-production of the new particles in a kinematic regime where the vector boson fusion production mechanism is enhanced. For this regime, we show that the distribution of the leading jets as a function of their relative azimuthal angle can be used to distinguish spin-0 from spin-1/2 particles. We illustrate this effect by considering the particular cases of (i) strongly-interacting, stable particles and (ii) supersymmetric particles carrying…
We report on studies of next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the process $pp\rightarrow e^+ν_eμ^+ν_μjj$ which is associated with vector-boson fusion (VBF) production of an intermediate $W^+W^+$ pair. The impact of s-channel diagrams and interference contributions in VBF kinematics is analyzed at leading order (LO) and found to be entirely negligible. The NLO corrections are around 5% of the LO cross section, and the scale dependence is reduced to about ~1%. We introduce a dynamic scale which improves the K factor in the high-energy tails of the distributions.
Weak boson fusion promises to be a copious source of intermediate mass Standard Model Higgs bosons at the LHC. The additional very energetic forward jets in these events provide for powerful background suppression tools. We analyze the H -> W^(*)W^(*) -> e mu pTmiss decay mode for a Higgs boson mass in the 130-200 GeV range. A parton level analysis of the dominant backgrounds (production of W pairs, tt~ and Z -> tau tau in association with jets) demonstrates that this channel allows the observation of H -> W^(*)W^(*) in a virtually background-free environment, yielding a significant Higgs boso…
We study the potential of the h_1 -> a_1 a_1 -> 4 tau signal from the lightest scalar (h_1) and pseudoscalar (a_1) Higgs bosons to cover the parameter space of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We exploit a 2 mu + 2 jets signature from four taus decays (accompanied by missing transverse energy), resorting to both Higgs-strahlung (HS), by triggering on leptonic W^\pm decays, and Vector Boson Fusion (VBF), by triggering on two same sign non-isolated muons.
We study the Higgs boson decays and production via gluon fusion at the LHC as a probe of two typical littlest Higgs models which introduce a top quark partner with different (even and odd) T-parity to cancel the Higgs mass quadratic divergence contributed by the top quark. For each model we consider two different choices for the down-type quark Yukawa couplings. We first examine the branching ratios of the Higgs boson decays and then study the production via gluon fusion followed by the decay into two photons or two weak gauge bosons. We find that the predictions can be quite different for dif…
We discuss the processes where a KK-graviton ($G$) of the extra-dimensional models is produced in association with a color singlet boson via gluon fusion at the LHC. In particular, we consider the processes $gg \to h G$, $γG$, $Z G$. These processes occur at one-loop through box and triangle diagrams. The cross-section for the process $gg \to γG$ vanishes at the one-loop level. It can be understood by introducing the charge conjugation transformations of the KK-graviton. The processes $gg \to h G$, $Z G$ can be observed at the LHC if the KK-graviton and the Higgs boson exist with appropriate p…
Higgs boson production in association with a hard central photon and two forward tagging jets is expected to provide valuable information on Higgs boson couplings in a range where it is difficult to disentangle weak-boson fusion processes from large QCD backgrounds. We present next-to-leading order QCD corrections to Higgs production in association with a photon via weak-boson fusion at a hadron collider in the form of a flexible parton-level Monte Carlo program. The QCD corrections to integrated cross sections are found to be small for experimentally relevant selection cuts, while the shape o…
Considering the framework of the 2-Higgs Doublet Model Type III (2HDM-III), wherein two doublets are coupled both to up as down fermions, and the Flavour Changin Currents (FCNCs) is controlled by a four-zero Texture approach in the Yukawa matrices. We study the production of charged Higgs ($H^\pm$) by means of $cb$ quark fusion followed by channel decay $H^\pm \to τ^\pm ν$ : $ c b \to H^\pm \to τ^\pm \bar ν$. Taking in account the experimental bounds, as well as the theoretical constraints analysed in previous work arXiv:2003.06263[hep-ph]. One can show that in a lepton-specific-like incarnati…
We review Higgs production at hadron colliders via vector-boson fusion and via gluon fusion, fully inclusively and in association with one and two jets. Then we address the issue of the measurement of the coupling of the Higgs to the vector bosons at LHC.
We investigate the constraints that the LHC can set on a 126 GeV Higgs boson that is an admixture of CP eigenstates. Traditional analyses rely on Higgs couplings to massive vector bosons, which are suppressed for CP-odd couplings, so that these analyses have limited sensitivity. Instead we focus on Higgs production in gluon fusion, which occurs at the same order in the strong coupling for both CP-even and -odd couplings. We study the Higgs plus two jet final state followed by Higgs decay into a pair of tau leptons. We show that using the 8 TeV dataset it is possible to rule out the pure CP-odd…
We perform a feasibility study to search for axion-like particles (ALPs) using vector boson fusion (VBF) processes at the LHC. We work in an effective field theory framework with cutoff scale $Λ$ and ALP mass $m_{a}$, and assume that ALPs couple to photons with strength $\propto 1/Λ$. Assuming proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV, we present the total VBF ALP production cross sections, ALP decay widths and lifetimes, and relevant kinematic distributions as a function of $m_{a}$ and $Λ$. We consider the $a\toγγ$ decay mode to show that the requirement of an energetic diphoton pair co…
We consider QCD radiative corrections to the production of four charged leptons in hadron collisions. We present the computation of the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the loop-induced gluon fusion contribution. Our predictions include, for the first time, also the quark-gluon partonic channels. The computed corrections, which are formally of ${\cal O}(α_{\rm s}^3)$, turn out to increase the loop-induced Born-level result by an amount ranging from 75% to 71% as $\sqrt{s}$ ranges from 8 to 13 TeV. We combine our result with state-of-the-art NNLO corrections to the quark annihilation ch…
The existence of magnetic monopoles, also predicted in some GUT theories, would symmetrise Maxwell equations and explain the charge quantisation. Searches for them are being performed in cosmic telescopes as well as in collider experiments, such as MoEDAL and ATLAS. In this report, we focus on the, least explored, photon-fusion mechanism, yet Drell-Yan results are discussed, too. Cross sections for monopoles of spin 0, 1/2 and 1 for an effective monopole-velocity-dependent magnetic charge are presented. For spin-1/2 and spin-1 monopoles, a magnetic-moment term is included, which is treated as …
In order to solve the hierarchy problem, several extra-dimensional models have received considerable attention. We have considered a process where a Higgs boson is produced in association with a KK-graviton ($G_{\rm KK}$) at the LHC. At the leading order, this process occurs through gluon fusion mechanism $gg \to h G_{\rm KK}$ via a quark loop. We compute the cross section and examine some features of this process in the ADD model. We find that the quark in the loop does not decouple in the large quark-mass limit just as in the case of $gg\to h$ process. We compute the cross section of this pr…
We present results on the strong and electroweak NLO corrections to the production of a Higgs boson plus two hard jets via weak interactions at the LHC. The calculation includes all weak-boson fusion and quark-antiquark annihilation diagrams as well as all related interferences. We discuss corrections of different origin (QCD corrections of vector-boson-fusion type and interferences, electroweak corrections induced by quark or photonic initial states, heavy-Higgs-boson effects, etc.) and give some new results for distributions for a Higgs-boson mass of 200 GeV. The electroweak corrections are …
The top-pions($π_{t}^{0,\pm}$) predicted by extra dimensional descriptions of the topcolor scenario have similar feature with those in four dimensional topcolor scenario, which have large Yukawa couplings to the third generation quarks. In the context of the higgsless--top-Higgs(HTH) model, we discuss the production of these new particles at the CERN Large Hadron Collider(LHC) via various suitable mechanisms (gluon-gluon fusion, bottom-bottom fusion, gluon-bottom fusion, and the usual Drell-Yan processes) and estimate their production rates. We find that, as long as the top-pions are not too h…
