We analyze the transverse momentum distributions of pp, pPb, XeXe and PbPb collisions at different RHIC and LHC energies and centralities as well as the corresponding distributions for Higgs production decaying into $γγ$ and 4l. A simple linear relation is found between the effective thermal temperature and the hard scale, approximately valid for all processes and mainly determined by the hard scale fluctuations. In order to go further, it is shown that the whole spectrum of pp collisions can be described by a single function showing that the thermal temperature is determined solely by the hard scale and its fluctuations. The possible relation between the multiplicities of the soft and hard scales is explored.

We consider entanglement entropy between two halves of space separated by a plane, in the theory of free photon in 3+1 dimensions. We show how to separate local gauge invariant quantities that belong to the two spatial regions. We calculate the entanglement entropy by integrating over the degrees of freedom in one half space using an approximation that assumes slow variation of the magnetic fields in longitudinal direction. We find that the entropy is proportional to the transverse area as expected. Interestingly the entanglement properties of the 2D transverse and longitudinal modes of magnet…
Usually, the transverse momentum distribution is described by a sum of an exponential decay term plus a decreasing power like contribution representing the soft non-perturbative and hard perturbative QCD collisions, respectively. In this paper, we derive an analytical function that can describe the whole transverse momentum spectrum. This is obtained using a $q$-Gaussian distribution to describe the string tension fluctuations. The parameter $q$ determines the departure of the thermal distribution as well as the minimum length that can be explored at high transverse momentum. We also show that…
We present a study of the flavor form factors in the framework of a hard-wall AdS/QCD model and compare with the available experimental data. We obtain the flavor form factors by decomposing the Dirac and Pauli form factors for the nucleons using the charge and isospin symmetry. Further, we present a detailed study of the flavor structures of the charge and anomalous magnetization densities in the transverse plane. Both the unpolarized and the transversely polarized nucleons are considered here. We compare the AdS/QCD results with two standard phenomenological parametrizations.
Transverse momentum $p_T$ spectra of final state particles produced in high energy heavy-ion collision can be divided into two distinct regions based on the difference in the underlying particle production process. We have provided a unified formalism to explain both low- and high-$p_T$ regime of spectra in a consistent manner. The $p_T$ spectra of final state particles produced at RHIC and LHC energies have been analysed using unified formalism to test its applicability at different energies, and a good agreement with the data is obtained across all energies. Further, the prospect of extracti…
Using deep inelastic scattering on a large nucleus as an example, we consider the transverse momentum broadening of partons in hard processes in the presence of medium. We find that one can factorize the vacuum radiation contribution and medium related $P_T$ broadening effects into the Sudakov factor and medium dependent distributions, respectively. Our derivations can be generalized to other hard processes, such as dijet productions, which can be used as a probe to measure the medium $P_T$ broadening effects in heavy ion collisions when Sudakov effects are not overwhelming.
We calculate the single transverse spin asymmetries(SSA) for forward inclusive particle production in pp and pA collisions using a hybrid approach. It is shown that the Sivers type contribution to the SSA drops out due to color entanglement effect, whereas the fragmentation contribution to the spin asymmetry is not affected by color entanglement effect. This finding offers a natural solution for the sign mismatch problem.
We review what is currently known about the transverse spin structure of hadrons, in particular from observables that can be analyzed within a collinear framework. These effects have been around for 40 years and represent a critical test of perturbative QCD. We look at both proton-proton and lepton-nucleon collisions for various final states. While the main focus is on transverse single-spin asymmetries, we also discuss how longitudinal-transverse double-spin asymmetries offer a complimentary, yet equally important, source of information on the quark-gluon content of hadrons. We also summarize…
