We conjecture the inversion relations for thermalized solvable interaction round the face (IRF) two dimensional lattice models. We base ourselves on an ansatz for the Baxterization described by the author in the 90's. We solve these inversion relations in the four main regimes of the models, to give the free energy of the models, in these regimes. We use the method of Baxter in the calculation of the free energy of the hard hexagon model. We believe these results to be quite general, shared by most of the known IRF models. Our results apply equally well to solvable vertex models. Using the expression for the free energy we calculate the critical exponent $α$, and from it the dimension of the perturbing (thermal) operator in the fixed point conformal field theory (CFT). We show that it matches either the coset ${\cal O}/{\cal G}$ or ${\cal G}/{\cal O}$, where $\cal O$ is the original CFT used to define the model and $\cal G$ is some unknown CFT, depending on the regime. This agrees with known examples of such models by Huse and Jimbo et al.
Birman--Murakami--Wenzl (BMW) algebra was introduced in connection with knot theory. We treat here interaction round the face solvable (IRF) lattice models. We assume that the face transfer matrix obeys a cubic polynomial equation, which is called the three block case. We prove that the three block theories all obey the BMW algebra. We exemplify this result by treating in detail the $SU(2)$ $2\times 2$ fused models, and showing explicitly the BMW structure. We use the connection between the construction of solvable lattice models and conformal field theory. This result is important to the solu…
We treat here interaction round the face (IRF) solvable lattice models. We study the algebraic structures underlining such models. For the three block case, we show that the Yang Baxter equation is obeyed, if and only if, the Birman--Murakami--Wenzl (BMW) algebra is obeyed. We prove this by an algebraic expansion of the Yang Baxter equation (YBE). For four blocks IRF models, we show that the BMW algebra is also obeyed, apart from the skein relation, which is different. This indicates that the BMW algebra is a sub--algebra for all models with three or more blocks. We find additional relations f…
We study the algebras underlying solvable lattice models of the type fusion interaction round the face (IRF). We propose that the algebras are universal, depending only on the number of blocks, which is the degree of polynomial equation obeyed by the Boltzmann weights. Using the Yang--Baxter equation and the ansatz for the Baxterization of the models, we show that the three blocks models obey a version of Birman--Murakami--Wenzl (BMW) algebra. For four blocks, we conjecture that the algebra is the BMW algebra with a different skein relation, along with one additional relation, and we provide e…
We present the results for the local state probabilities (LSP) of the solvable lattice models, constructed around rational conformal field theory given by WZW model on $SO(3)_{4 R}=SU(2)_{4 R} / Z_{2}$ together with primary field $ϕ_{1}$(symmetric tensor of degree 2). Some conjectures for the LSP for some higher rank relatives of $A_{n}^{(1)}$ face models are also presented.
We develop an algebraic approach to solvable lattice models based on a chain of algebras obeyed by the models. In each subalgebra we use a unit, giving a chain of ideals. Thus, we divide the models into distinct sectors which do not mix. This method gives the usual Bethe anzats results in cases it is known, but generalizes it to non integrable models. We exemplify the method on the Temperley--Lieb and Fuss--Catalan algebras. For the Fuss--Catalan algebra we show that the ground state energy is zero and there is a mass gap of one for $α>\sqrt2$, and that for $α=1$ we seem to get an RCFT as the …
We consider the spin k/2 analogue of the XXZ quantum spin chain. We compute the entanglement entropy S associated with splitting the infinite chain into two semi-infinite pieces. In the scaling limit, we find S ~ c_k/6 (ln(xi))+ln(g)+... . Here xi is the correlation length and c_k=3k/(k+2) is the central charge associated with the sl_2 WZW model at level k. ln(g) is the boundary entropy of the WZW model. Our result extends previous observations and suggests that this is a simple and perhaps rather general way both of extracting the central charge of the ultraviolet CFT associated with the scal…
We extend the exactly solvable Hamiltonian describing $f$ quantum oscillators considered recently by J. Dorignac et al. by means of a new interaction which we choose as quasi exactly solvable. The properties of the spectrum of this new Hamiltonian are studied as function of the new coupling constant. This Hamiltonian as well as the original one are also related to adequate Lie structures.
We study the path realization of Demazure crystals related to solvable lattice models in statistical mechanics. Various characters are represented in a unified way as the sums over one dimensional configurations which we call unrestricted, classically restricted and restricted paths. As an application characters of Demazure modules are obtained in terms of $q$-multinomial coefficients for several level 1 modules of classical affine algebras.
We study the large class of solvable lattice models, based on the data of conformal field theory. These models are constructed from any conformal field theory. We consider the lattice models based on affine algebras described by Jimbo et al., for the algebras $ABCD$ and by Kuniba et al. for $G_2$. We find a general formula for the crossing multipliers of these models. It is shown that these crossing multipliers are also given by the principally specialized characters of the model in question. Therefore we conjecture that the crossing multipliers in this large class of solvable interaction roun…
We build the trigonometric solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation that can not be obtained from quantum groups in any direct way. The solution is obtained using the construction suggested recently from the rational conformal field theory corresponding to the WZW model on $SO(3)_{4 R}=SU(2)_{4 R} / Z_{2}$. We also discuss the full elliptic solution to the Yang-Baxter equation whose critical limit corresponds to the trigonometric solution found below.
An analytic Bethe ansatz is carried out related to the Lie superalgebra osp(1|2s). We present an eigenvalue formula of a transfer matrix in dressed vacuum form (DVF) labeled by a Young (super) diagram. Remarkable duality among DVFs is found. A complete set of transfer matrix functional relations (T-system) is proposed as a reduction of a Hirota-Miwa equation. We also derive a thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equation from this T-system and the quantum transfer matrix method. This TBA equation is identical to the one from the string hypothesis.
The universal amplitude ratio $R_ξ$ for the ($q\leqslant 4$)-state Potts model in two dimensions is determined by using results for the dilute A model in regime 1. The nature of the relationship between the Potts model and the dilute A model, both related to $ϕ_{2,1}$ perturbed conformal field theory, is discussed.
Motivated by an analogy with the spherical model of a ferromagnet, the three Arcetri models are defined. They present new universality classes, either for the growth of interfaces, or else for lattice gases. They are distinct from the common Edwards-Wilkinson and Kardar-Parisi-Zhang universality classes. Their non-equilibrium evolution can be studied from the exact computation of their two-time correlators and responses. The first model, in both interpretations, has a critical point in any dimension and shows simple ageing at and below criticality. The exact universal exponents are found. The …
We propose an exact solution of a model describing a low energy behavior of cold isospin S=3/2 fermionic atoms on a one-dimensional optical lattice. Depending on the band filling the effective field theory has a form of a deformed Gross-Neveu model with either $O(7)\times \mathbb{Z}_2$ (half filling) or $U(1)\times O(5)\times \mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry.
In this paper we construct a three-dimensional (3D) solvable lattice model with non-negative Boltzmann weights. The spin variables in the model are assigned to edges of the 3D cubic lattice and run over an infinite number of discrete states. The Boltzmann weights satisfy the tetrahedron equation, which is a 3D generalisation of the Yang-Baxter equation. The weights depend on a free parameter 0<q<1 and three continuous field variables. The layer-to-layer transfer matrices of the model form a two-parameter commutative family. This is the first example of a solvable 3D lattice model with non-nega…
We review and motivate recently-observed relationships between exactly solvable lattice models and modular representations of Hecke algebras. Firstly, we describe how the set of $n$-regular partitions label both of the following classes of objects: 1. The spectrum of unrestricted solid-on-solid lattice models based on level-1 representations of the affine algebras $\sl_n$, 2. The irreducible representations of type-A Hecke algebras at roots of unity: $H_m(\sqrt[n]{1})$. Secondly, we show that a certain subset of the $n$-regular partitions label both of the following classes of objects: 1. The …
I propose a class of D\geq{2} lattice SU(N) gauge theories dual to certain vector models endowed with the local [U(N)]^{D} conjugation-invariance and Z_{N} gauge symmetry. In the latter models, both the partitition function and Wilson loop observables depend nontrivially only on the eigenvalues of the link-variables. Therefore, the vector-model facilitates a master-field representation of the large N loop-averages in the corresponding induced gauge system. As for the partitition function, in the limit N->{infinity} it is reduced to the 2Dth power of an effective one-matrix eigenvalue-model whi…
We introduce the basics of the nonabelian duality transformation of SU(N) or U(N) vector-field models defined on a lattice. The dual degrees of freedom are certain species of the integer-valued fields complemented by the symmetric groups' \otimes_{n} S(n) variables. While the former parametrize relevant irreducible representations, the latter play the role of the Lagrange multipliers facilitating the fusion rules involved. As an application, I construct a novel solvable family of SU(N) D-matrix systems graded by the rank 1\leq{k}\leq{(D-1)} of the manifest [U(N)]^{\oplus k} conjugation-symmetr…
We demonstrate the existence of a new topologically ordered phase in Kitaev's honeycomb lattice model. This new phase appears due to the presence of a vortex lattice and it supports chiral Abelian anyons. We characterize the phase by its low-energy behavior that is described by a distinct number of Dirac fermions. We identify two physically distinct types of topological phase transitions and obtain analytically the critical behavior of the extended phase space. The Fermi surface evolution associated with the transitions is shown to be due to the Dirac fermions coupling to chiral gauge fields. …
