A Simpson-Visser spacetime has two nonnegative parameters $a$ and $m$ and its metric is correspond with (i) a Schwarzschild metric for $a=0$ and $m\neq0$, (ii) a regular black hole metric for $a<2m$, (iii) a one-way traversable wormhole metric for $a=2m$, (vi) a two-way traversable wormhole metric for $a>2m$, and (v) an Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole metric for $a\neq0$ and $m=0$. The spacetime is one of the most useful spacetimes for the purpose of comprehensively understanding gravitational lensing of light rays reflected by a photon sphere of black holes and wormholes. We have investigated gravitational lensing in the Simpson-Visser spacetime in a strong deflection limit in all the nonnegative parameters of $a$ and $m$. In a case of $a=3m$, two photon spheres and an antiphoton sphere at the throat degenerate into a marginally unstable photon sphere. The deflection angle of the light rays reflected by the marginally unstable photon sphere at the throat diverges nonlogarithmically in the strong deflection limit.
We consider non-commutating Simpson-Visser spacetime and study the superradiance phenomena and the shadow cast by the back hole associated with this modified spacetime. We extensively study the different aspects of the black hole associated with the metric endowed with the corrections linked with non-commutative properties of spacetime. We study the superradiance effect, deviation of shape, size of the ergosphere, and the shadow of black hole in this extended situation and look into their variation taking different values Simpson-Visser parameter $\ell$ and non-commutative parameter $b$. We ha…
We compare the optical appearance of a thin accretion disk in the Simpson-Visser spacetime to the Schwarzschild black hole case in this paper. We calculate and illustrate the red-shift and observed flux distributions as viewed by distant observers at various inclination angles. Simpson-Visser family of metrics create Novikov-Thorne (NT) accretion disks images that nearly look like a Schwarzschild black hole's NT accretion disk. We have studied also the embedding diagram, the electromagnetic properties of the accretion disk such as the temperature and the radiation flux of the energy by the acc…
We study epicyclic oscillatory motion along circular geodesics of the Simpson--Visser meta-geometry describing in a unique way regular black-bounce black holes and reflection-symmetric wormholes by using a length parameter $l$. We give the frequencies of the orbital and epicyclic motion in a Keplerian disc with inner edge at the innermost circular geodesic located above the black hole outer horizon or on the our side of the wormhole. We use these frequencies in the epicyclic resonance version of the so-called geodesic models of high-frequency quasi-periodic oscillations (HF QPOs) observed in m…

The "black-bounce" spacetime geometries, were recently proposed in [A. Simpson, M. Visser, JCAP 02 (2019) 042] as regular black holes that bouncing into a future incarnation of the universe. In this work we will present several black-bounce exact solutions of General Relativity. Among them is a novel type of black-bounce solutions, which in contrast of the Simpson-Visser type [A. Simpson, M. Visser, JCAP 02 (2019) 042], do not have the Ellis wormhole metric as a particular case. The source of these solutions are linear superposition of phantom scalar fields and nonlinear electromagnetic fields…
Simpson-Visser (SV) space-times are the simplest globally regular modifications of the Schwarzschild, Reissner-Nordstrom and other blak-hole solutions of general relativity. They smoothly interpolate between these black holes and traversable wormholes. After a brief presentation of the Schwarzschild-like and Reissner-Nordstrom-like SV geometries, including their Carter-Penrose diagrams, we show that any static, spherically symmetric SV metric can be obtained as an exact solution to the Einstein field equations sourced by a combination of a minimally coupled phantom scalar field with a nonzero …
A string is the one-dimensional generalization of a point particle. In this sense, the analog of a cloud of dust would be a cloud of strings. In this work, we consider a cloud of strings around a regular solution in general gelativity. We consider the Bardeen solution and the Simpson--Visser solution, analyzing the consequences of the cloud in the regularity and in the energy conditions. Actually, the presence of the cloud could make the energy density positive when compared to the Simpson--Visser case. We verify that the usual Bardeen solution becomes singular in the presence of the cloud of …
In this paper, the Penrose process is being used to extract rotational energy from regular black holes. Initially, we consider the rotating Simpson-Visser regular spacetime which describes the class of geometries of the Kerr black hole's mimickers. The Penrose process is then studied through conformally transformed rotating singular and regular black hole solutions. These both Simpson-Visser and conformally transformed geometries depend on mass, spin, and an additional regularisation parameter $l$. In both cases, we investigate how the spin and regularisation parameter $l$ affects the configur…

The occurrence of a bounce in the FRW cosmology requires modifications of General Relativity. An example of such a modification is the recently proposed Horava-Lifshitz theory of gravity, which includes a "dark radiation" term with a negative coefficient in the analog of the Friedmann equation. A modification of the HL gravity, relaxing the "detailed balance" condition, brings additional terms to the equations of motion, corresponding to stiff matter. This paper presents comparison of the phase structure of the original and modified Horava cosmology. Special attention is paid to the analysis o…

In this work, a regular black string solution will be presented from the method used by Simpson-Visser to regularize the Schwarzschild solution. As in the Simpson-Visser work, in this new black string solution, it is possible to represent both a regular black hole and a wormhole just by changing the value of a parameter "$a$" used in its metric. Tensors and curvature invariants were analyzed to verify the regularity of the solution, as well as the energy conditions of the system. It was found that the null energy condition will always be violated for the entire space. The analysis of the therm…
In this paper, we study the charged and uncharged BTZ counterpart of the Black-Bounce proposed by Simpson and Visser recently. For the uncharged case, we find that the temperature is not modified by the bounce parameter. We also find that the wormhole side of the solution must always be supported by exotic matter over the throat. For the charged case we find that the thermodynamics is changed and the bounce parameter controls a phase transition, affecting the sign of the heat capacity and therefore the stability of the system. For the uncharged case, we find that there are no stable orbits for…
Key results from the literature pertaining to a class of nonsingular black hole mimickers are explored. The family of candidate spacetimes is for now labelled the `black-bounce' family, stemming from the original so-called `Simpson--Visser' spacetime in static spherical symmetry. All model geometries are analysed through the lens of standard general relativity, are globally free from curvature singularities, pass all weak-field observational tests, and smoothly interpolate between regular black holes and traversable wormholes. The discourse is segregated along geometrical lines, with candidate…
Black bounces are spacetimes that can describe, depending on certain parameters, black holes or wormholes. In this work, we use a method to obtain the matter content that generates black bounce solutions in general relativity. The method is constructed in a general way, and as models, we apply it to the Simpson--Visser black bounce solution and the Bardeen-type black bounce solution. We obtain that these metrics are solutions of Einstein's equations when we consider the coupling of the gravitational interaction with a phantom scalar field with a nonlinear electrodynamics. The presence of the p…
We investigate gravitational lensing by a primary photon sphere which is a sphere filled with unstable circular light orbits, and by a secondary photon sphere on a wormhole throat in a black-bounce spacetime which is suggested in [F. S. N. Lobo, M. E. Rodrigues, M. V. d. S. Silva, A. Simpson, and M. Visser, Phys. Rev. D 103, 084052 (2021)] in strong deflection limits. There is an antiphoton sphere between the primary photon sphere and the secondary photon sphere. If a light source and an observer are on the same side of the wormhole throat, in addition to an infinite number of images slightly …

We develop a number of novel "black-bounce" spacetimes. These are specific regular black holes where the "area radius" always remains non-zero, thereby leading to a "throat" that is either timelike (corresponding to a traversable wormhole), spacelike (corresponding to a "bounce" into a future universe), or null (corresponding to a "one-way wormhole"). We shall first perform a general analysis of the regularity conditions for such a spacetime, and then consider a number of specific examples. The examples are constructed using a mass function similar to that of Fan--Wang, and fall into several p…

We study new solutions of black bounce spacetimes formulated in $f(T)$ gravity in four dimensions. First, we present the case of a diagonal tetrad, where a constraint arises in the equations of motion, which is divided into the cases of null torsion, constant torsion, and Teleparallel. The Null Energy Condition (NEC) is still always violated, which implies that the other energy conditions are violated. The solutions are regular in all spacetime and the solution with null torsion exhibits discontinuity between the energy conditions outside and inside the event horizon. Second, we present the ca…
