Observing light or heavy charged Higgs bosons $H^\pm$, lighter or heavier than the top quark, would be instant evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model. For this reason, in recent years searches for charged Higgs bosons have been in the center of attention of current colliders such as the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In spite of all efforts, no signal has been yet observed. Especially, the results of CMS and ATLAS experiments have excluded a large region in the MSSM $m_{H^+}-\tanβ$ parameter space for $m_{H^+}=80-160$ GeV corresponding to the entire range of $\tanβ$ up to 60. Therefore, it seems that one should concentrate on probing heavy charged Higgs bosons ($m_{H^\pm}>m_t$) so in this context each new probing channel is welcomed. In this work, we intend to present our proposed channel to search for heavy charged Higgses through the study of scaled-energy distribution of bottom-flavored mesons ($B$) inclusively produced in charged Higgs decay, i.e., $H^+\to t\bar{b}\to B+X$. Our study is carried out within the framework of the generic two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) using the massless scheme where the zero mass parton approximation is adopted for bottom quark.
In this paper we consider loop corrections to the spin-independent WIMP-nucleon scattering cross section in bottom-quark flavored scalar-type dark matter models. We focus on two scenarios: (a) a complex scalar dark matter with a scalar particle as the mediator; and (b) a real scalar dark matter with a vector boson as the mediator. In both scenarios, the direct detection cross sections are either spin-dependent or kinematically forbidden at the tree-level. Corrections induced by the WIMP-gluon effective operator, scalar-type WIMP-quark effective operator, and the twist-2 effective operator are …
We propose the inclusive semi-hard production, in proton-proton collisions, of two bottom-flavored hadrons, as well as of a single bottom-flavored hadron accompanied by a light jet, as novel channels for the manifestation of stabilization effects of the high-energy resummation under next-to-leading-order corrections. Our formalism relies on a hybrid high-energy and collinear factorization, where the BFKL resummation of leading and next-to-leading energy logarithms is used together with collinear factorization. We present results for cross sections and azimuthal correlations differential in rap…
We consider the decay of a polarized top quark into a stable $W^+$ boson and charmed-flavored (D) or bottom-flavored (B) hadrons, via $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow W^++D/B+X$. We study the angular distribution of the scaled-energy of B/D-hadrons at next-to-leading order (NLO) considering the contribution of bottom and gluon fragmentations into the heavy mesons B and D. To obtain the energy spectrum of B/D-hadrons we present our analytical expressions for the parton-level differential decay widths of $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow b+W^+(+g)$ at NLO. Comparison of our predictions with data at the LHC enable …
We study the inclusive production of bottom-flavored hadrons from semileptonic decays of polarized top quarks at next-to-leading order in QCD using fragmentation functions recently determined from a global fit to $e^+e^-$ data. We provide the relevant differential decay widths at parton level in analytic form. These results fill an important gap in the theoretical interpretation of recent measurements of the top-quark polarization and the $t\bar{t}$ spin correlations using dilepton final states in proton-proton collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. As an illustration, we study the dist…

We study the scaled-energy (x_B) distribution of bottom-flavored hadrons (B) inclusively produced in top-quark decays at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme endowed with realistic, nonperturbative fragmentation functions that are obtained through a global fit to e^+e^- data from CERN LEP1 and SLAC SLC exploiting their universality and scaling violations. Specifically, we study the effects of gluon fragmentation and finite bottom-quark and B-hadron masses. We find the NLO corrections to be significant. Gluon fragmentation leads to an appreciable reducti…
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model squark mixing can significantly change the pattern of charged-Higgs production. We find that non-minimal flavor structures can have a sizeable impact on the charged-Higgs production cross section, whereas charged-Higgs searches may be able to probe flavor structures not accessible to rare kaon, bottom or charm experiments, and can invalidate the assumption of minimal flavor violation.
Thermal relic dark matter particles with a mass of 31-40 GeV and that dominantly annihilate to bottom quarks have been shown to provide an excellent description of the excess gamma rays observed from the center of the Milky Way. Flavored dark matter provides a well-motivated framework in which the dark matter can dominantly couple to bottom quarks in a flavor-safe manner. We propose a phenomenologically viable model of bottom flavored dark matter that can account for the spectral shape and normalization of the gamma-ray excess while naturally suppressing the elastic scattering cross sections p…
The LHCb Collaboration has recently observed two narrow baryon resonances with beauty. Their masses and decay modes look consistent with the quark model orbitally excited states Lambda_b(5912) and Lambda*_b(5920), with quantum numbers J^P=1/2^- and 3/2^-, respectively. We predict the existence of these states within a unitarized meson-baryon coupled-channel dynamical model, which implements heavy-quark spin symmetry. Masses, quantum numbers and couplings of these resonances to the different meson-baryon channels are obtained. We find that the resonances Lambda^0_b(5912) and Lambda^0_b(5920) ar…
We study the energy spectrum of the inclusive bottom-flavored mesons in top-quark decay into a charged-Higgs-boson and a massless bottom quark at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the two-Higgs-doublet model. To extract the result we work in the Zero-Mass Variable-Flavor-Number scheme(ZM-VFNs) using realistic nonperturbative fragmentation functions obtained through a global fit to $e^+e^-$ data from CERN LEP1 and SLAC SLC on the Z-boson resonance. We study both the contribution of the bottom-quark fragmentation and the gluon fragmentation to produce the bottom-flavored meson (B-Meson). We find th…
Motivated by the results of the recent experimental discoveries for charm and bottom baryons, the masses and magnetic moments of the heavy baryons with $J^P=3/2^+$ containing a single heavy quark are studied within light cone QCD sum rules method. Our results on the masses of heavy baryons are in good agreement with predictions of other approaches, as well as with the existing experimental data.

Our results on the masses of heavy baryons are in good agreement with predictions of other approaches, as well as with the existing experimental values. Our predictions on the masses of the states, which are not yet discovered in the experiments, can be tested in the future experiments. A comparison of our results on the magnetic moments of these baryons …
We study the effective field theory sensitivity of an LHC analysis for the $τν$ final state with an associated b-jet. To illustrate the improvement due to the b-tagging, we first recast the recent CMS analysis in the $τν$ channel, using an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, and provide limits on all the dimension-six effective operators which contribute to the process. The expected limits from the b-tagged analysis are then derived and compared. We find an improvement of approximately $\sim 30\%$ in the bounds for operators with a b quark. We also discuss in detail p…
We consider a simple extension of the Standard Model with flavor-dependent $U(1)'$, that has been proposed to explain some of $B$-meson anomalies recently reported at LHCb. The $U(1)'$ charge is chosen as a linear combination of anomaly-free $B_3-L_3$ and $L_μ-L_τ$. In this model, the flavor structure in the SM is restricted due to flavor-dependent $U(1)'$ charges, in particular, quark mixings are induced by a small vacuum expectation value of the extra Higgs doublet. As a result, it is natural to get sizable flavor-violating Yukawa couplings of heavy Higgs bosons involving the bottom quark. I…
We present results of the first lattice QCD calculation of three-flavored heavy dibaryons both in the flavor-symmetric and antisymmetric channels. These dibaryons have spin zero, and are constructed using various possible combinations of quark flavors with at least one of them as the charm or the bottom quark, i.e., namely, $H_c(cudcud), H_b(budbud), H_{bcs}(bcsbcs)$, $H_{csl}(cslcsl), H_{bsl}(bslbsl)$ and $H_{bcl}(bclbcl)$; $l\in u,d$. We compute the ground state masses of these dibaryons and the calculations are performed on three $N_f=2+1+1$ HISQ gauge ensembles of the MILC collaboration, w…
This dissertation investigates exotic hadrons with heavy-quark content that may be understood as being generated dynamically from the hadron-hadron interaction. This interaction is derived from a suitable effective Lagrangian and properly unitarized in a full coupled-channel basis. In particular, we discuss the possible interpretation of some of the Ωc* excited states recently discovered at LHCb as being meson-baryon molecular states. We also discuss the dynamical generation of excited open-charm mesons from the scattering of pseudoscalar and vector charmed mesons off light mesons. We show tha…
Due to the large masses of the charm and bottom quarks, their production cross sections are calculable within the perturbative QCD. This makes the heavy-quark mesons important observables in high-energy collisions of protons and nuclei. However, the available calculations for heavy-flavored-meson hadroproduction have been somewhat problematic in reliably describing the cross sections across the full kinematic range from zero to very high $p_{\rm T}$. This has put some question marks on the robustness of LHC heavy-flavored-meson measurements in studying the partonic structure of the colliding h…
We present the results of a calculation of the perturbative QCD corrections for the semileptonic inclusive width of a heavy flavored meson. Within the Heavy Quark Expansion we analytically compute the QCD correction to the coefficient of power suppressed contribution of the chromo-magnetic operator in the limit of vanishing mass of the final state quark. The important phenomenological applications are decays of bottom mesons, and to the less extend, charmed mesons.
In this thesis we study the b-quark fragmentation in top decay as well as the effect of the threshold resummation on heavy quark production in charged-current DIS. To predict the spectrum of b-flavored hadrons in top decay, we calculate at NLO the QCD corrections for bottom production in top decay with the b-mass fully taken into account. Using the perturbative fragmentation function formalism we then resum with NLL accuracy large collinear logs of the ratio of bottom-to-top mass, which leads to an essential improvement of the result. Next we perform the threshold resummation for the coefficie…
We show that current Higgs data permit a significantly enhanced Higgs coupling to charm pairs, comparable to the Higgs to bottom pairs coupling in the Standard Model, without resorting to additional new physics sources in Higgs production. With a mild level of the latter current data even allow for the Higgs to charm pairs to be the dominant decay channel. An immediate consequence of such a large charm coupling is a significant reduction of the Higgs signal strengths into the known final states as in particular into bottom pairs. This might reduce the visible vector-boson associated Higgs prod…
We study b, c quark hadronization from QGP. We obtain the yields of charm and bottom flavored hadrons within the statistical hadronization model. The important novel feature of this study is that we take into account the high strangeness and entropy content of QGP, conserving strangeness and entropy yields at hadronization.

We describe a heavy and exotic tetraquark state as a holographic molecule, by binding the lightest heavy-light meson $(0^-, 1^-)$ multiplet to a flavored sphaleron, in the bulk of the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model. Bound tetraquark states emerge as Efimov states in the heavy quark limit, with a binding energy for charm tetraquark comparable to the $T_{cc}^+$ recently reported by the LHCb, but a substantially smaller width, for a large but finite $^\prime$t Hooft coupling. Fixing the parameters of the model at the empirical mass of $T_{cc}^+$ allows us to predict the bindings of the undiscovered …
Charged Higgs bosons $H^\pm$ are predicted by some non-minimal Higgs scenarios, such as models containing Higgs triplets and two-Higgs-doublet models, so that the experimental observation of these bosons would indicate physics beyond the Standard Model. In the present work, we introduce a new channel to indirect search for the charged Higgses through the hadronic decay of polarized top quarks where a top quark decays into a charged Higgs $H^+$ and a bottom-flavored hadron $B$ via the hadronization process of the produced bottom quark, $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow H^++b(\to B+jet)$. To obtain the en…
Motivated by the LHCb observation of exotic states $X_{0,1}(2900)$ with four open quark flavors in the $D^- K^+$ invariant mass distribution in the decay channel $B^\pm \to D^+ D^- K^\pm$, we study the spectrum and decay properties of the open charm tetraquarks. Using the two-body chromomagnetic interactions, we find that the two newly observed states can be interpreted as a radial excited tetraquark with $J^P=0^+$ and an orbitally excited tetraquark with $J^P=1^-$, respectively. We then explore the mass and decays of the other flavor-open tetraquarks made of $su \bar d \bar c$ and $ d s \bar …
We calculate the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ radiative corrections to the spin dependent differential decay rates of the process $t\rightarrow b+W^+$. These are needed to study the angular distribution of the energy of hadrons produced in polarized top quark decays at next-to-leading order (NLO). In our previous work, we studied the angular distribution of the scaled-energy of bottom-flavored hadrons (B) from polarized top quark decays, using a specific helicity coordinate system where the top quark spin was measured relative to the bottom momentum (system~1). Here, we study the angular distribution of th…
Light and heavy charged Higgs bosons are predicted by many models with an extended Higgs sector such as the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). Searches for the charged Higgs bosons have been done by the ATLAS and the CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in proton-proton collision. However, a definitive search is a program that still has to be carried out so this belongs to the LHC experiments. The experimental observation of charged Higgs bosons would indicate physics beyond the Standard Model. In the present work we study the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ correction to the energy spectrum of the…
In our previous work, we studied the polar distribution of the scaled energy of bottom-flavored hadrons from polarized top quark decays $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow W^++b(\rightarrow X_b)$, using two different helicity coordinate systems. Basically, the energy distributions are governed by the unpolarized, polar and azimuthal rate functions which are related to the density matrix elements of the decay $t(\uparrow)\rightarrow W^++b$. Here we present, for the first time, the analytical expressions for the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ radiative corrections to the differential azimuthal decay rates of the partonic …
We present our analytic results for the NLO corrections to the partial decay width $t\to H^+b$ followed by $b\to BX$ for nonzero b-quark mass ($m_b\neq 0$) in the Fixed-Flavor-Number scheme (FFNs). To make our predictions for the energy distribution of the outgoing bottom-flavored hadron (B-hadron) as a function of the normalized B-energy fraction $x_B$, we apply the General-Mass Variable-Flavor-Number scheme (GM-VFNs) in the two-Higgs-doublet model. To extract the results we use data from $e^+e^-$ machines in order to describe both the b-quark and the gluon hadronizations in top decay. We fin…

We present nonperturbative fragmentation functions (FFs) for bottom-flavored ($B$) hadrons both at next-to-leading (NLO) and, for the first time, at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ factorization scheme with five massless quark flavors. They are determined by fitting all available experimental data of inclusive single $B$-hadron production in $e^+e^-$ annihilation, from the ALEPH, DELPHI, and OPAL Collaborations at CERN LEP1 and the SLD Collaboration at SLAC SLC. The uncertainties in these FFs as well as in the corresponding observables are estimated using t…
In this work we introduce a new channel to indirect search for the light charged Higgs bosons, which are predicted in several extensions of the standard model (SM) such as the two-Higgs-doublet models (2HDMs). We calculate the ${\cal O}(α_s)$ QCD radiative corrections to the energy distribution of bottom- and charmed-flavored hadrons ($B/D$) produced in the dominant decays of the polarized top quark in the 2HDM, i.e. $t(\uparrow)\longrightarrow b(\to B/D+\text{jet})+H^+(\to τ^+ν_τ)$. %This analysis is studied in a specific helicity coordinate system where the polarization vector of the top qua…
We calculate the magnetic moments of ground state $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^+$ and $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ heavy flavor charm and bottom baryon states employing the concept of effective mass based on single gluon exchange interaction coupling to the spectator quarks in the non-relativistic quark model. We exploit the current experimental information in the heavy flavor sector to estimate the interaction contributions to get the effective masses of the quarks inside the baryons. We study the spin $\frac{1}{2}^{'+} \rightarrow \frac{1}{2}^+$, $\frac{3}{2}^+ \rightarrow \frac{1}{2}^+$, and $\frac{3}{2}^+ \rig…
We derive the $k_T$ resummation for doubly heavy-flavored $B_c$ meson decays by including the charm quark mass effect into the known formula for a heavy-light system. The resultant Sudakov factor is employed in the perutrbative QCD study of the "golden channel" $B_c^+ \to J/ψπ^+$. With a reasonable model for the $B_c$ meson distribution amplitude, which maintains approximate on-shell conditions of both the partonic bottom and charm quarks, it is observed that the imaginary piece of the $B_c \to J/ψ$ transition form factor appears to be power suppressed, and the $B_c^+ \to J/ψπ^+$ branching rat…
The present article is the follow-up of our work Bottomonium suppression in quasi-particle model, where we have extended the study for charmonium states using quasi-particle model in terms of quasi-gluons and quasi quarks/antiquarks as a equation of state. By employing medium modification to a heavy quark potential thermodynamic observables {\em viz.} pressure, energy density, speed of sound etc. have been calculated which nicely fit with the lattice equation of state for gluon, massless and as well {\em massive} flavored plasma. For obtaining the thermodynamic observables we employed the deby…
