Fano and hybrid resonances of bilayer graphene could be attractive for thermoelectric devices. The special profile presented by such resonances could significantly enhance the Seebeck coefficient and the power factor. In this work, we study the thermoelectric properties of bilayer graphene single and double barrier structures. The charge carriers are described as massive chiral particles through an effective Dirac-like Hamiltonian. The Hybrid matrix method, the Landauer-Büttiker formalism and the Cutler-Mott formula are implemented to obtain the transmission, transport and thermoelectric properties, respectively. The Seebeck coefficient and the power factor are analyzed for gapless and gapped single and double barriers. We find that in the energy range where Fano resonances occur, the Seebeck coefficient attains values of tens of mV/K and the power factor reaches values of the order nW/K. Hybrid resonances also sustain high values for the thermoelectric properties, however not as high as Fano resonances. We also find that despite the Fano and hybrid profiles are manifested in the conductance of gapped barrier structures, the Seebeck coefficient and the power factor are systematically reduced as the bandgap gets larger. So, our findings indicate that bilayer graphene barrier structures can be used to improve the response of thermoelectric devices.
We consider the thermoelectric properties of a double-quantum-dot molecule coupled in parallel to metal electrodes with a magnetic flux threading the ring. By means of the Sommerfeld expansion we obtain analytical expressions for the electric and thermal conductances, thermopower and figure of merit for arbitrary values of the magnetic flux. We neglect electronic correlations. The Fano antiresonances in transmission demand that terms usually discarded in the Sommerfeld expansion are taken into account. We also explore the behavior of the Lorenz ratio L=κ/σT, where κ and σ are the thermal and e…
We discuss the thermoelectric properties assisted by the Fano effect of a parallel double quantum dot (QD) structure. By adjusting the couplings between the QDs and leads, we facilitate the nonresonant and resonant channels for the Fano interference. It is found that at low temperature, Fano lineshapes appear in the electronic and thermal conductance spectra, which can also be reversed by an applied local magnetic flux with its phase factor $ϕ=π$. And, the Fano effect contributes decisively to the enhancement of thermoelectric efficiency. However, at the same temperature, the thermoelectric ef…
We show that the thermoelectric properties of nanoscale junctions featuring states near the Fermi level strongly depend on the type of resonance generated by such states, which can be either Fano or Breit-Wigner-like. We give general expressions for the thermoelectric coefficients generated by the two types of resonances and calculate the thermoelectric properties of these systems, which encompass most nanoelectronics junctions. We include simulations of real junctions where metalloporphyrin molecules bridge gold electrodes and prove that for some metallic elements the thermoelectric propertie…

Thermoelectric power (TEP) is measured in bilayer graphene for various temperatures and charge-carrier densities. At low temperatures, measured TEP well follows the semiclassical Mott formula with a hyperbolic dispersion relation. TEP for a high carrier density shows a linear temperature dependence, which demonstrates a weak electron-phonon interaction in the bilayer graphene. For a low carrier density, a deviation from the Mott relation is observed at high temperatures and is attributed to the low Fermi temperature in the bilayer graphene. Oscillating TEP and the Nernst effect for varying car…
Atomic clusters attached to a low-dimensional system, called Fano defects, produce rich wave interferences. In this work, we analytically found an enhanced thermoelectric figure-of-merit (ZT) in periodic atomic chains with Fano defects, compared to those without such defects. We further study self-assembled DNA-like systems with periodic and quasiperiodically placed Fano defects by using a real-space renormalization method developed for the Kubo-Greenwood formula, in which tight-binding and Born models are respectively used for the electric and lattice thermal conductivities. The results revea…
We present harmonic transverse voltage measurements of current-induced thermoelectric and spin-orbit torque (SOT) effects in ferromagnet/normal metal bilayers, in which thermal gradients produced by Joule heating and SOT coexist and give rise to ac transverse signals with comparable symmetry and magnitude. Based on the symmetry and field-dependence of the transverse resistance, we develop a consistent method to separate thermoelectric and SOT measurements. By addressing first ferromagnet/light metal bilayers with negligible spin-orbit coupling, we show that in-plane current injection induces a…
This is a numerical study of thermoelectric properties of ballistic bilayer graphene in the presence of trigonal warping term in the effective Hamiltonian. We find, in the mesoscopic samples of the length $L>10\,μ$m at sub-Kelvin temperatures, that both the Seebeck coefficient and the Lorentz number show anomalies (the additional maximum and minimum, respectively) when the electrochemical potential is close to the Lifshitz energy, which can be attributed to the presence of the van Hove singularity in a bulk density of states. At higher temperatures the anomalies vanish, but measurable quantiti…
We investigate the electron transport and thermoelectric property of twisted bilayer graphene nanoribbon junction (TBGNRJ) in $0^o$, $21.8^o$, $38.2^o$ and $60^o$ rotation angles by first principles calculation with Landauer-Buttiker and Boltzmann theories. It is found that TBGNRJs exhibit negative differential resistance (NDR) in $21.8^o$ and $38.2^o$ rotation angles under $\pm$ 0.2 V bias voltage. More importantly, three peak ZT values of 2.0, 2.7 and 6.1 can be achieved in the $21.8^o$ rotation angle at 300K. The outstanding ZT values of TBGNRJs are interpreted as the combination of the red…
Two-dimensional layered materials have attracted tremendous attentions due to their extraordinary physical and chemical properties. Using first-principles calculations and Boltzmann transport theory, we give an accurate prediction of the thermoelectric properties of boron phosphide (BP) bilayer, where the carrier relaxation time is treated within the framework of electron-phonon coupling. It is found that the lattice thermal conductivity of BP bilayer is much lower than that of its monolayer structure, which can be attributed to the presence of van der Waals interactions. On the other hand, th…
We numerically study the disorder effect on the thermoelectric and thermal transport for bilayer graphene under a strong perpendicular magnetic field. In the unbiased case, we find that the thermoelectric transport has similar properties as in the monolayer graphene, i.e., the Nernst signal has a peak at the central Landau level (LL) with the value of the order of $k_B/e$ and changes sign near other LLs while the thermopower has an opposite behavior. We attribute this to the coexistence of particle and hole LLs around the Dirac point. When a finite interlayer bias is applied and a band gap is …
Interference between different possible paths lies at the heart of quantum physics. Such interference between coupled discrete and continuum states of a system can profoundly change its interaction with light as seen in Fano resonance. Here we present a unique many-body Fano system composed of a discrete phonon vibration and continuous electron-hole pair transitions in bilayer graphene. Mediated by the electron-phonon interactions, the excited state is described by new quanta of elementary excitations of hybrid phonon-exciton nature. Infrared absorption of the hybrid states exhibit characteris…
The introduction of 'twist' or relative rotation between two atomically thin van der Waals (vdW) membranes gives rise to periodic Moire potential, leading to a substantial altercation of the band structure of the planar assembly. While most of the recent experiments primarily focus on the electronic-band hybridization by probing in-plane transport properties, here we report out-of-plane thermoelectric measurements across the van der Waals gap in twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG), which exhibits an interplay of twist-dependent inter-layer electronic and phononic hybridization. We show that at a l…
Resolving low-energy features in the density of states (DOS) holds the key to understanding wide variety of rich novel phenomena in graphene based 2D heterostructures. Lifshitz transition in bilayer graphene (BLG) arising from trigonal warping has been established theoretically and experimentally. Nevertheless, the experimental realization of its effects on the transport properties has been challenging because of its relatively low energy scale ($\sim 1$ meV). In this work, we demonstrate that the thermoelectric power (TEP) can be used as an effective probe to investigate fine changes in the D…
We performed electric and thermoelectric transport measurements of bilayer graphene in a magnetic field up to 15 Tesla. The transverse thermoelectric conductivity $\rmα_{xy}$, determined from four transport coefficients, attains a peak value of $\rmα_{xy, peak}$ whenever chemical potential lies in the center of a Landau level. The temperature dependence of $\rmα_{xy, peak}$ is dictated by the disorder width $\rm W_L$. For $\rm k_BT/W_L\leq$0.2, $\rmα_{xy, peak}$ is nominally linear in temperature, which gives $\rmα_{xy,peak}/T=0.19 \pm 0.03 n A/K^2$ independent of the magnetic field, temperatu…
Thermoelectric power of a material, typically governed by its band structure and carrier density, can be varied by chemical doping that is often restricted by solubility of the dopant. Materials showing large thermoelectric power are useful for many industrial applications, such as the heat-to-electricity conversion and the thermoelectric cooling device. Here we show a full electric field tuning of thermoelectric power in a dual-gated bilayer graphene device resulting from the opening of a band-gap by applying a perpendicular electric field on bilayer graphene. We uncover a large enhancement i…
We consider the excitonic effects on the thermal properties in the AB-stacked bilayer graphene. The calculations are based on the bilayer generalization of the usual Hubbard model at the half-filling. The full interaction bandwidth is used without any low-energy assumption. We obtain the unusually high values for the electronic figure of merit even at the room-temperatures which is very promising for the thermoelectric applications of the AB-bilayer structure. We discuss the effects of the interlayer Coulomb interaction and temperature on different thermal parameters in the bilayer graphene an…
We study the thermoelectric properties of rectangular graphene rings connected symmetrically or asymmetrically to the leads. A side-gate voltage applied across the ring allows for the precise control of the electric current flowing through the system. The transmission coefficient of the rings manifests Breit-Wigner line-shapes and/or Fano line-shapes, depending on the connection configuration, the width of nanoribbons forming the ring and the side-gate voltage. We find that the thermopower and the figure of merit are greatly enhanced when the chemical potential is tuned close to resonances. Su…
In the bilayer ReS$ _{2} $ channel of a field-effect transistor (FET), we demonstrate using Raman spectroscopy that electron doping (n) results in softening of frequency and broadening of linewidth of the in-plane vibrational modes, leaving out-of-plane vibrational modes unaffected. Largest change is observed for the in-plane Raman mode at $\sim$ 151 cm$^{-1} $, which also shows doping induced Fano resonance with the Fano parameter 1/q = -0.17 at doping concentration of $\sim 3.7\times10^{13}$ cm$^{-2} $. A quantitative understanding of our results is provided by first-principles density funct…
Unlike in conventional semiconductors, both the chemical potential and the band gap in bilayer graphene (BLG) can be tuned via application of external electric field. Among numerous device implications, this property also designates BLG as a candidate for high-performance thermoelectric material. In this theoretical study we have calculated the Seebeck coefficients for abrupt interface separating weakly- and heavily-doped areas in BLG, and for a more realistic rectangular sample of mesoscopic size, contacted by two electrodes. For a given band gap ($Δ$) and temperature ($T$) the maximal Seebec…
We consider the anomalous thermoelectric transport in gapped single and bilayer graphene where the gap may be due to broken inversion symmetry. In the presence of the gap, non-trivial Berry phase effects can be shown to mediate a transverse thermoelectric voltage in response to an applied temperature gradient even in the absence of a perpendicular magnetic field. This spontaneous, anomalous Nernst effect is nonzero for non-uniform chemical potential in the two inequivalent valleys in the graphene band structure. Conversely, the Nernst response can be used to create a valley-index polarization …
In the present work we theoretically study thermoelectric transport and heat transfer in a junction including a $T$-shaped double quantum dot coupled to nonmagnetic electrodes and supplemented with a third dot in a parallel configuration. We focus on the combined effect of Coulomb interactions and quantum interference occurring in the $T$-shaped portion of the considered triple quantum dot on the thermoelectric electron transport. The transport through the system is studied within the Coulomb blockade regime in the limit of strong intra-dot interactions between electrons beyond the linear resp…
We theoretically investigate the thermoelectric properties of zigzag bilayer phosphorene nanoribbons (ZBPNR). We first, draw an analogy between the extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) ladder and ZBPNR edge states and obtain their corresponding band structure and wave functions analytically. Then, by applying the energy filtering method, we show that the electric power and thermoelectric efficiency of the ZBPNRs can be improved remarkably in the presence of mid-gap edge states. We also argue how to engineer the edge modes to further optimize thermoelectric power and efficiency of the system by …
We have fabricated bilayer-graphene double layers separated by a thin ($\sim$20 nm) boron nitride layer and performed Coulomb drag and counterflow thermoelectric transport measurements. The measured Coulomb drag resistivity is nearly three orders smaller in magnitude than the intralayer resistivities. The counterflow Seebeck coefficient is found to be well approximated by the difference between Seebeck coefficients of individual layers and exhibit a peak in the regime where two layers have opposite sign of charge carriers. The measured maximum counterflow power factor is $\sim$ 700 $μ$W/K$^2$c…
Detection of local strain at the nanometer scale with high sensitivity remains challenging. Here we report near-field infrared nano-imaging of local strains in bilayer graphene through probing strain-induced shifts of phonon frequency. As a non-polar crystal, intrinsic bilayer graphene possesses little infrared response at its transverse optical (TO) phonon frequency. The reported optical detection of local strain is enabled by applying a vertical electrical field that breaks the symmetry of the two graphene layers and introduces finite electrical dipole moment to graphene phonon. The activate…
Transport properties of graphene - superconductor junction has been studied extensively to understand the interplay of the relativistic Dirac quasiparticles and superconductivity. Though shot noise measurements in graphene has been performed to realize many theoretical predictions, both at zero magnetic field as well as quantum Hall (QH) regime, its junction with superconductor remain unexplored. Here, we have carried out the shot noise measurements in an edge contacted bilayer graphene - Niobium superconductor junction at zero magnetic field as well as QH regime. At the Dirac point we have ob…
Since their discovery, graphene-based systems represent an exceptional playground to explore the emergence of peculiar quantum effects. The present paper focuses on the anomalous appearence of strong infrared phonon resonances in the optical spectroscopy of bilayer graphene and on their pronounced Fano-like asymmetry, both tunable in gated devices. By developing a full microscopic many-body approach for the optical phonon response we explain how both effects can be quantitatively accounted for by the quantum interference of electronic and phononic excitations. We show that the phonon modes bor…
Transmission profiles in bilayer graphene have been studied theoretically in presence of a pair of delta function magnetic barriers. Two types of asymmetric Fano resonances are discussed in connection to the electronic cloaking effect in graphene nanostructures. One arises in a static (time independent) vector barrier due to the quantum interference between the discrete hole like state inside the barrier and the electron like continuum outside. In this case the computed results for normal incidence indirectly verify that the cloaking effect is a manifestation of the chirality conservation in c…
We investigate the thermoelectric properties of a T-shaped double quantum dot system described by a generalized Anderson Hamiltonian. The system's electrical conduction (G) and the fundamental thermoelectric parameters such as the Seebeck coefficient ($S$) and the thermal conductivity ($κ$), along with the system's thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT) are numerically estimated based on a Green's function formalism that includes contributions up to the Hartree-Fock level. Our results account for finite onsite Coulomb interaction terms in both component quantum dots and discuss various ways leadi…
Recent research on twisted bilayer graphene (TBG) uncovered that its twist-angle-dependent electronic structure leads to a host of unique properties, such as superconductivity, correlated insulating states, and magnetism. The flat bands that emerge at low twist angles in TBG result in sharp features in the electronic density of states (DOS), affecting transport. Here we show that they lead to superior and tuneable thermoelectric (TE) performance. Combining an iterative Boltzmann transport equation solver and electronic structure from an exact continuum model, we calculate thermoelectric transp…
We investigate the optoelectronic response of a graphene interface junction, formed with bilayer and single-layer graphene, by photocurrent (PC) microscopy. We measure the polarity and amplitude of the PC while varying the Fermi level by tuning a gate voltage. These measurements show that the generation of PC is by a photo-thermoelectric effect. The PC displays a factor of ~10 increase at the cryogenic temperature as compared to room temperature. Assuming the thermoelectric power has a linear dependence on the temperature, the inferred graphene thermal conductivity from temperature dependent m…
The superposition of flexoelectronic doping and topological phonons give rise to topological electronic magnetism of phonon in an inhomogeneously strained Si in the bilayer structure with metal. In case of ferromagnetic metal and Si bilayer structure, the flexoelectronic doping will also give rise to larger spin current, which will lead to large spin to charge conversion due to topological electronic magnetism of phonon. By applying a temperature difference to ferromagnetic metal/Si bilayer structure under an applied strain gradient, a large thermoelectric response can be generated. In this ex…
Using the Landauer formula approach, it is proven that minimal conductivity of order of $e^{2}/h$ found experimentally in bilayer graphene is its intrinsic property. For the case of ideal crystals, the conductivity turns our to be equal to $e^{2}/2h$ per valley per spin. A zero-temperature shot noise in bilayer graphene is considered and the Fano factor is calculated. Its value $1-2/π$ is close to the value 1/3 found earlier for the single-layer graphene.
We consider a single-level quantum dot coupled to two leads which are ferromagnetic in general. Apart from tunneling processes conserving electron spin, we also include processes associated with spin-flip of tunneling electrons, which appear due to Rashba spin-orbit coupling. Charge and heat currents are calculated within the non-equilibrium Green's function technique. When the electrodes are half-metallic (fully spin polarized), the Rashba spin-orbit coupling leads to Fano-like interference effects, which result in an enhanced thermoelectric response. It is also shown that such a system can o…
In moiré systems with twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG), the amplification of Coulomb correlation effects at low twist angles ($θ$) is a result of nearly flat low-energy electronic bands and divergent density of states (DOS) at van Hove singularities (vHS). This not only causes superconductivity, Mott insulating states, and quantum anomalous Hall effect close to the critical (or magic) angle $θ= θ_{c} \approx 1.1^\circ$, but also unconventional metallic states that are claimed to exhibit non-Fermi liquid (NFL) excitations. However, unlike superconductivity and the correlation-induced gap in the …
When two planar atomic membranes are placed within the van der Waals distance, the charge and heat transport across the interface are coupled by the rules of momentum conservation and structural commensurability, leading to outstanding thermoelectric properties. Here we show that an effective "interlayer phonon drag" determines the Seebeck coefficient (S) across the van der Waals gap formed in twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG). The cross-plane thermovoltage, which is non-monotonic in both temperature and density, is generated through scattering of electrons by the out-of-plane layer breathing (Z…
Fano resonances and their strong doping dependence are observed in Raman scattering of single-layer graphene (SLG). As the Fermi level is varied by a back-gate bias, the Raman G band of SLG exhibits an asymmetric line shape near the charge neutrality point as a manifestation of a Fano resonance, whereas the line shape is symmetric when the graphene sample is electron or hole doped. However, the G band of bilayer graphene (BLG) does not exhibit any Fano resonance regardless of doping. The observed Fano resonance can be interpreted as interferences between the phonon and excitonic many-body spec…
In contrast to monolayer graphene, in bilayer graphene (BLG) one can induce a tunable bandgap by applying an external electric field, which makes it suitable for field effect applications. Extrinsic doping of BLGs enriches the electronic properties of the graphene-based family, as their behavior can be switched from an intrinsic small-gap semiconductor to a degenerate semiconductor. In the framework of density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we investigate the electronic and thermoelectric properties of BLGs doped with extrinsic impurities from groups III (B, Al, Ga), IV (Si, Ge) and V (…
We investigate the role of electron-hole correlations in the absorption of freestanding monolayer and bilayer graphene using optical transmission spectroscopy from 1.5 to 5.5 eV. Line shape analysis demonstrates that the ultraviolet region is dominated by an asymmetric Fano resonance. We attribute this to an excitonic resonance that forms near the van-Hove singularity at the saddle point of the band structure and couples to the Dirac continuum. The Fano model quantitatively describes the experimental data all the way down to the infrared. In contrast, the common non-interacting particle pictur…
Universality and the thermoelectric transport properties of a double quantum dot system: Seeking for conditions that improve the thermoelectric efficiency
Using first-principles density functional perturbation theory based calculations of length-dependent lattice thermal conductivity (\k{appa} L ) and using our previously calculated results (Phys Rev B 95 085435 (2017)) of electrical transport, we report results of thermoelectric figure-of-merit (ZT ) of monolayer and bilayer Graphene. We find nearly ten-fold increase in ZT for the graphene sample doped with boron nitride and reduced sample length. We also compare \k{appa} L calculated using the iterative real space method with conventional analytical Callaway-Klemens method and obtain the flexu…
Gapless bilayer graphene (GBG), like monolayer graphene, is a material system with unique properties, such as anti-Klein tunneling and intrinsic Fano resonances. These properties rely on the gapless parabolic dispersion relation and the chiral nature of bilayer graphene electrons. In addition, propagating and evanescent electron states coexist inherently in this material, giving rise to these exotic properties. In this sense, bilayer graphene is unique, since in most material systems in which Fano resonance phenomena are manifested an external source that provides extended states is required. …
We show that a bilayer graphene flake deposited above a ferromagnetic insulator can behave as a spin-filtering device. The ferromagnetic material induces exchange splitting in the graphene flake, and due to the Fano antiresonances occurring in the transmission of the graphene flake as a function of flake length and energy, it is possible to obtain a net spin current. This happens when an antiresonance for one spin channel coincides with a maximum transmission for the opposite spin. We propose these structures as a means to obtain spin-polarized currents and spin filters in graphene-based syste…
The charge susceptibility of twisted bilayer graphene is investigated in the Dirac cone, respectively random-phase approximation. For small enough twist angles $θ\lesssim 2^\circ$ we find weakly Landau damped interband plasmons, i.~e., collective excitonic modes which exist in the undoped material, with an almost constant energy dispersion. In this regime, the loss function can be described as a Fano resonance and we argue that these excitations arise from the interaction of quasi-localised states with the incident light field. These predictions can be tested by nano-infrared imaging and possi…
We calculate the Fermi energy dependence of the (time-averaged) current and shot noise in an impurity-free carbon bilayer (length $L\ll$ width $W$), and compare with known results for a monolayer. At the Dirac point of charge neutrality, the bilayer transmits as two independent monolayers in parallel: Both current and noise are resonant at twice the monolayer value, so that their ratio (the Fano factor) has the same 1/3 value as in a monolayer -- and the same value as in a diffusive metal. The range of Fermi energies around the Dirac point within which this pseudo-diffusive result holds is sma…
We study the frictional drag between carriers in two bilayer graphene flakes separated by a 2 $-$ 5 nm thick hexagonal boron nitride dielectric. At temperatures ($T$) lower than $\sim$ 10 K, we observe a large anomalous negative drag emerging predominantly near the drag layer charge neutrality. The anomalous drag resistivity increases dramatically with reducing {\it T}, and becomes comparable to the layer resistivity at the lowest {\it T} = 1.5 K. At low $T$ the drag resistivity exhibits a breakdown of layer reciprocity. A comparison of the drag resistivity and the drag layer Peltier coefficie…
We numerically study the thermoelectric and thermal transport in trilayer graphene with different stacking orders in the presence of interlayer bias under a strong perpendicular magnetic field. In biased ABA-stacked case, we find that the thermoelectric conductivity displays different asymptotic behaviors with the varying of the temperature, similar to that of monolayer graphene. In the high temperature regime, the transverse thermoelectric conductivity $α_{xy}$ saturates to a universal value $2.77 k_B e/h$ at the center of each LL, while it displays a linear temperature dependence at low temp…
We study the electronic contribution to the main thermoelectric properties of a molecular junction consisting of a single quantum dot coupled to graphene external leads. The system electrical conductivity (G), Seebeck coefficient ($S$), and the thermal conductivity ($κ$), are numerically calculated based on a Green's function formalism that includes contributions up to the Hartree-Fock level. We consider the system leads to be made either of pure or gapped-graphene. To describe the free electrons in the gapped-graphene electrodes we used two possible scenarios, the massive gap scenario, and th…
Nonlinear anomalous Hall effect is the Berry curvature dipole induced second-order Hall voltage or temperature difference in response to a longitudinal electric field or temperature gradient. These are the prominent Hall responses in time reversal symmetric systems. Here, we investigate the family of second-order nonlinear anomalous Hall effects, the electrical, thermoelectric and thermal nonlinear Hall effects in the moiré system of twisted double bilayer graphene. We demonstrate that the nonlinear anomalous Hall signals can be used to probe the topological phase-transitions in moiré systems,…
Spin pumping by ferromagnetic resonance is one of the most common technique to determine spin hall angles, Edelstein lengths or spin diffusion lengths of a large variety of materials. In recent years, rising concerns have appeared regarding the interpretation of these experiments, underlining that the signal could arise purely from thermoelectric effects, rather than from coherent spin pumping. Here, we propose a method to evaluate the presence or absence of thermal effects in spin pumping signals, by combining bolometry and spin pumping by ferromagnetic resonance measurements, and comparing t…
We investigate the thermoelectric performance of armchair graphene nanoribbon (AGNR), bilayer GNRs junction (BGNRJ) and BGNRJ with holes (BGNRJ-H) by the first principles calculation with non-equilibrium Green function. It is found that the BGNRJ-H exhibits high ZT values of 9.65 and 5.55 at 300K. The reason of these significantly larger ZT values than previously observed has been calculated due to reduced thermal conductivity and enhanced electrical conductivity. The low thermal conductance comes from the van der waals (vdW) interaction between two graphene layers. The increased electrical co…
